1Ee Bwana, tegea sikio maneno yangu, uangalie kupiga kite kwangu. 2Sikiliza kilio changu ili unisaidie, Mfalme wangu na Mungu wangu, kwa maana kwako ninaomba. 3Asubuhi, unasikia sauti yangu, Ee Bwana; asubuhi naleta haja zangu mbele zako, na kusubiri kwa matumaini. 4Wewe si Mungu unayefurahia uovu, kwako mtu mwovu hataishi. 5Wenye kiburi hawawezi kusimama mbele yako, unawachukia wote watendao mabaya. 6Unawaangamiza wasemao uongo. Bwana huwachukia wamwagao damu na wadanganyifu. 7Lakini mimi, kwa rehema zako kuu, nitakuja katika nyumba yako, kwa unyenyekevu, nitasujudu kuelekea Hekalu lako takatifu. 8Niongoze katika haki yako, Ee Bwana, kwa sababu ya adui zangu, nyoosha njia yako mbele yangu. 9Hakuna neno kinywani mwao linaloweza kuaminika, mioyo yao imejaa maangamizi. Koo lao ni kaburi lililo wazi, kwa ndimi zao, wao hunena udanganyifu. 10Uwatangaze kuwa wenye hatia, Ee Mungu! Hila zao ziwe anguko lao wenyewe. Wafukuzie mbali kwa sababu ya dhambi zao nyingi, kwa kuwa wamekuasi wewe. 11Lakini wote wakimbiliao kwako na wafurahi, waimbe kwa shangwe daima. Ueneze ulinzi wako juu yao, ili wale wapendao jina lako wapate kukushangilia. 12Kwa hakika, Ee Bwana, unawabariki wenye haki, unawazunguka kwa wema wako kama ngao.

1Give ear to my words, Yahweh. Consider my meditation. 2Listen to the voice of my cry, my King and my God; for to you do I pray. 3Yahweh, in the morning you shall hear my voice. In the morning I will lay my requests before you, and will watch expectantly. 4For you are not a God who has pleasure in wickedness. Evil can’t live with you. 5The arrogant shall not stand in your sight. You hate all workers of iniquity. 6You will destroy those who speak lies. Yahweh abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man. 7But as for me, in the abundance of your loving kindness I will come into your house. I will bow toward your holy temple in reverence of you. 8Lead me, Yahweh, in your righteousness because of my enemies. Make your way straight before my face. 9For there is no faithfulness in their mouth. Their heart is destruction. Their throat is an open tomb. They flatter with their tongue. 10Hold them guilty, God. Let them fall by their own counsels; Thrust them out in the multitude of their transgressions, for they have rebelled against you. 11But let all those who take refuge in you rejoice, Let them always shout for joy, because you defend them. Let them also who love your name be joyful in you. 12For you will bless the righteous. Yahweh, you will surround him with favor as with a shield.

1Een psalm van David, voor den opperzangmeester, op de Nechiloth. 2O HEERE, neem mijn redenen ter ore; versta mijn overdenking. 3Merk op de stem mijns geroeps, o mijn Koning en mijn God! Want tot U zal ik bidden. 4Des morgens, HEERE, zult Gij mijn stem horen; des morgens zal ik mij tot U schikken, en wacht houden. 5Want Gij zijt geen God, Die lust heeft aan goddeloosheid; de boze zal bij U niet verkeren. 6De onzinnigen zullen voor Uw ogen niet bestaan; Gij haat alle werkers der ongerechtigheid. 7Gij zult de leugensprekers verdoen; van den man des bloeds en des bedrogs heeft de HEERE een gruwel. 8Maar ik zal door de grootheid Uwer goedertierenheid in Uw huis ingaan; ik zal mij buigen naar het paleis Uwer heiligheid, in Uw vreze. 9HEERE! Leid mij in Uw gerechtigheid, om mijner verspieders wil; richt Uw weg voor mijn aangezicht. 10Want in hun mond is niets rechts, hun binnenste is enkel verderving, hun keel is een open graf, met hun tong vleien zij. 11Verklaar hen schuldig, o God; laat hen vervallen van hun raadslagen; drijf hen henen om de veelheid hunner overtredingen, want zij zijn wederspannig tegen U. 12Maar laat verblijd zijn allen, die op U betrouwen, tot in eeuwigheid; laat hen juichen, omdat Gij hen overdekt; en laat in U van vreugde opspringen, die Uw Naam liefhebben. Want Gij, HEERE, zult den rechtvaardige zegenen; Gij zult hem met goedgunstigheid kronen, als met een rondas.
