Find a church near you
The Bible is also read together. Here you will find, country by country, the official search pages of the main churches, so you can find a parish or congregation close to home.
Search by country
Choose your country. Each link goes to the website of a church or a federation of churches. Search there by town or postcode.

Thread has no ties with these churches and does not choose between them. We only show Christian churches that share the ancient creeds. We opened every link ourselves on 3 Oktoba 2026.
Is your country not listed? Look for your country's bishops' conference or its Protestant or evangelical federation, or ask Christians you know.
What to look for in a church
No church is perfect: it is made of people. But there are a few things you may expect.
The Bible at the centre
The Bible is read and explained. You are welcome to read along and ask questions.
Jesus Christ in the middle
The church confesses God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, as in the Apostles' Creed. It is about Jesus, not about the pastor.
Praying and worshipping together
People pray and sing, baptise, and celebrate the Lord's Supper or the Eucharist.
Love you can notice
Newcomers are welcome, and there is care for those who are ill, poor or alone, outside the church too.
Leaders who are accountable
A pastor does not stand alone: there are elders, a diocese or a federation. And there is openness about money.
Safe for everyone
A good church has rules to protect children and vulnerable people, and a person you can turn to in confidence.
How a first visit goes
Feeling a little nervous is normal. This is how it usually goes.
Beforehand
Check the website for when the service or Mass begins. You can also send an email, so someone knows you are coming.
Arriving
Come ten minutes early. Often someone at the door will welcome you. Sit wherever you like.
During the service
Join in as you can: standing, sitting, singing. You don't have to say what you don't yet believe. It usually lasts an hour to an hour and a half.
Communion
Churches differ in who takes part. If you are not sure, simply stay seated or ask beforehand. Nobody will mind.
The collection
Often money is collected. As a guest you don't have to give anything.
Afterwards
There is often coffee. Saying your name is enough to get to know people. Go a few times before you decide, and feel free to visit another church too.
