Psalmaro 127

1Se la Eternulo ne konstruas la domon, Tiam vane laboras super ĝi ĝiaj konstruantoj; Se la Eternulo ne gardas urbon, Tiam vane maldormas la gardanto. 2Vane vi frue leviĝas, malfrue sidas, Manĝas panon kun klopodoj: Al Sia amato Li donas en dormo. 3Jen, heredo de la Eternulo estas infanoj; Rekompenco estas la frukto de ventro. 4Kiel sagoj en la mano de fortulo, Tiel estas junaj filoj. 5Bone estas al la homo, kiu plenigis per ili sian sagujon; Ili ne estos hontigitaj, Kiam ili parolos kun la malamikoj ĉe la pordego.

1Unless Yahweh builds the house, they labor in vain who build it. Unless Yahweh watches over the city, the watchman guards it in vain. 2It is vain for you to rise up early, to stay up late, eating the bread of toil; for he gives sleep to his loved ones. 3Behold, children are a heritage of Yahweh. The fruit of the womb is his reward. 4As arrows in the hand of a mighty man, so are the children of youth. 5Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them. They won’t be disappointed when they speak with their enemies in the gate.

1Een lied Hammaaloth, van Salomo. Zo de HEERE het huis niet bouwt, tevergeefs arbeiden deszelfs bouwlieden daaraan; zo de HEERE de stad niet bewaart, tevergeefs waakt de wachter. 2Het is tevergeefs, dat gijlieden vroeg opstaat, laat opblijft, eet brood der smarten; het is alzo, dat Hij het Zijn beminden als in den slaap geeft. 3Ziet, de kinderen zijn een erfdeel des HEEREN; des buiks vrucht is een beloning. 4Gelijk de pijlen zijn in de hand eens helds, zodanig zijn de zonen der jeugd. 5Welgelukzalig is de man, die zijn pijlkoker met dezelve gevuld heeft; zij zullen niet beschaamd worden, als zij met de vijanden spreken zullen in de poort.
