Psaumes 46

1Au chef des chantres. Des fils de Koré. Sur alamoth. Cantique. Dieu est pour nous un refuge et un appui, Un secours qui ne manque jamais dans la détresse. 2C’est pourquoi nous sommes sans crainte quand la terre est bouleversée, Et que les montagnes chancellent au cœur des mers, 3Quand les flots de la mer mugissent, écument, Se soulèvent jusqu’à faire trembler les montagnes. -Pause. 4Il est un fleuve dont les courants réjouissent la cité de Dieu, Le sanctuaire des demeures du Très-Haut. 5Dieu est au milieu d’elle : elle n’est point ébranlée ; Dieu la secourt dès l’aube du matin. 6Des nations s’agitent, des royaumes s’ébranlent ; Il fait entendre sa voix : la terre se fond d’épouvante. 7L’Éternel des armées est avec nous, Le Dieu de Jacob est pour nous une haute retraite. -Pause. 8Venez, contemplez les œuvres de l’Éternel, Les ravages qu’il a opérés sur la terre ! 9C’est lui qui a fait cesser les combats jusqu’au bout de la terre ; Il a brisé l’arc, et il a rompu la lance, Il a consumé par le feu les chars de guerre. - 10Arrêtez, et sachez que je suis Dieu : Je domine sur les nations, je domine sur la terre. - 11L’Éternel des armées est avec nous, Le Dieu de Jacob est pour nous une haute retraite. -Pause.

1God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. 2Therefore we won’t be afraid, though the earth changes, though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas; 3though its waters roar and are troubled, though the mountains tremble with their swelling. Selah. 4There is a river, the streams of which make the city of God glad, the holy place of the tents of the Most High. 5God is in her midst. She shall not be moved. God will help her at dawn. 6The nations raged. The kingdoms were moved. He lifted his voice, and the earth melted. 7Yahweh of Armies is with us. The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah. 8Come, see Yahweh’s works, what desolations he has made in the earth. 9He makes wars cease to the end of the earth. He breaks the bow, and shatters the spear. He burns the chariots in the fire. 10“Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations. I will be exalted in the earth.” 11Yahweh of Armies is with us. The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

God is ons een Toevlucht en Sterkte; Hij is krachtelijk bevonden een Hulp in benauwdheden. 2Daarom zullen wij niet vrezen, al veranderde de aarde haar plaats, en al werden de bergen verzet in het hart der zeeen; 3Laat haar wateren bruisen, laat ze beroerd worden; laat de bergen daveren, door derzelver verheffing! Sela. 4De beekjes der rivier zullen verblijden de stad Gods, het heiligdom der woningen des Allerhoogsten. 5God is in het midden van haar, zij zal niet wankelen; God zal haar helpen in het aanbreken van den morgenstond. 6De heidenen raasden, de koninkrijken bewogen zich; Hij verhief Zijn stem, de aarde versmolt. 7De HEERE der heirscharen is met ons; de God van Jakob is ons een Hoog Vertrek. Sela. 8Komt, aanschouwt de daden des HEEREN, Die verwoestingen op aarde aanricht. 9Die de oorlogen doet ophouden tot aan het einde der aarde, de boog verbreekt, en de spies aan twee slaat, de wagenen met vuur verbrandt. 10Laat af, en weet, dat Ik God ben; Ik zal verhoogd worden onder de heidenen, Ik zal verhoogd worden op de aarde. 11De HEERE der heirscharen is met ons; de God van Jakob is ons een Hoog Vertrek.
