Psaumes 46

1Au chef des chantres. Des fils de Koré. Sur alamoth. Cantique. 2Dieu est pour nous un refuge et un appui, Un secours qui ne manque jamais dans la détresse. 3C’est pourquoi nous sommes sans crainte quand la terre est bouleversée, Et que les montagnes chancellent au cœur des mers, 4Quand les flots de la mer mugissent, écument, Se soulèvent jusqu’à faire trembler les montagnes. -Pause. 5Il est un fleuve dont les courants réjouissent la cité de Dieu, Le sanctuaire des demeures du Très-Haut. 6Dieu est au milieu d’elle : elle n’est point ébranlée ; Dieu la secourt dès l’aube du matin. 7Des nations s’agitent, des royaumes s’ébranlent ; Il fait entendre sa voix : la terre se fond d’épouvante. 8L’Éternel des armées est avec nous, Le Dieu de Jacob est pour nous une haute retraite. -Pause. 9Venez, contemplez les œuvres de l’Éternel, Les ravages qu’il a opérés sur la terre ! 10C’est lui qui a fait cesser les combats jusqu’au bout de la terre ; Il a brisé l’arc, et il a rompu la lance, Il a consumé par le feu les chars de guerre. - 11Arrêtez, et sachez que je suis Dieu : Je domine sur les nations, je domine sur la terre. - 12L’Éternel des armées est avec nous, Le Dieu de Jacob est pour nous une haute retraite. -Pause.

1God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. 2Therefore we won’t be afraid, though the earth changes, though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas; 3though its waters roar and are troubled, though the mountains tremble with their swelling. Selah. 4There is a river, the streams of which make the city of God glad, the holy place of the tents of the Most High. 5God is in her midst. She shall not be moved. God will help her at dawn. 6The nations raged. The kingdoms were moved. He lifted his voice, and the earth melted. 7Yahweh of Armies is with us. The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah. 8Come, see Yahweh’s works, what desolations he has made in the earth. 9He makes wars cease to the end of the earth. He breaks the bow, and shatters the spear. He burns the chariots in the fire. 10“Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations. I will be exalted in the earth.” 11Yahweh of Armies is with us. The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

1Een lied op Alamoth, voor den opperzangmeester, onder de kinderen van Korach. 2God is ons een Toevlucht en Sterkte; Hij is krachtelijk bevonden een Hulp in benauwdheden. 3Daarom zullen wij niet vrezen, al veranderde de aarde haar plaats, en al werden de bergen verzet in het hart der zeeen; 4Laat haar wateren bruisen, laat ze beroerd worden; laat de bergen daveren, door derzelver verheffing! Sela. 5De beekjes der rivier zullen verblijden de stad Gods, het heiligdom der woningen des Allerhoogsten. 6God is in het midden van haar, zij zal niet wankelen; God zal haar helpen in het aanbreken van den morgenstond. 7De heidenen raasden, de koninkrijken bewogen zich; Hij verhief Zijn stem, de aarde versmolt. 8De HEERE der heirscharen is met ons; de God van Jakob is ons een Hoog Vertrek. Sela. 9Komt, aanschouwt de daden des HEEREN, Die verwoestingen op aarde aanricht. 10Die de oorlogen doet ophouden tot aan het einde der aarde, de boog verbreekt, en de spies aan twee slaat, de wagenen met vuur verbrandt. 11Laat af, en weet, dat Ik God ben; Ik zal verhoogd worden onder de heidenen, Ik zal verhoogd worden op de aarde. De HEERE der heirscharen is met ons; de God van Jakob is ons een Hoog Vertrek. Sela.
