Salmi 96

1Cantate all’Eterno un cantico nuovo, cantate all’Eterno, abitanti di tutta la terra! 2Cantate all’Eterno, benedite il suo nome, annunziate di giorno in giorno la sua salvezza! 3Raccontate la sua gloria fra le nazioni e le sue maraviglie fra tutti i popoli! 4Perché l’Eterno è grande e degno di sovrana lode; egli è tremendo sopra tutti gli dèi. 5Poiché tutti gli dèi dei popoli son idoli vani, ma l’Eterno ha fatto i cieli. 6Splendore e maestà stanno dinanzi a lui, forza e bellezza stanno nel suo santuario. 7Date all’Eterno, o famiglie dei popoli, date all’Eterno gloria e forza. 8Date all’Eterno la gloria dovuta al suo nome, portategli offerte e venite ne’ suoi cortili. 9Prostratevi dinanzi all’Eterno vestiti di sacri ornamenti, tremate dinanzi a lui, o abitanti di tutta la terra! 10Dite fra le nazioni: l’Eterno regna; il mondo quindi è stabile e non sarà smosso; l’Eterno giudicherà i popoli con rettitudine. 11Si rallegrino i cieli e gioisca la terra; risuoni il mare e quel ch’esso contiene; 12festeggi la campagna e tutto quello ch’è in essa; tutti gli alberi delle foreste dian voci di gioia 13nel cospetto dell’Eterno; poich’egli viene, viene a giudicare la terra. Egli giudicherà il mondo con giustizia, e i popoli secondo la sua fedeltà.

1Sing to Yahweh a new song! Sing to Yahweh, all the earth. 2Sing to Yahweh! Bless his name! Proclaim his salvation from day to day! 3Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples. 4For great is Yahweh, and greatly to be praised! He is to be feared above all gods. 5For all the gods of the peoples are idols, but Yahweh made the heavens. 6Honor and majesty are before him. Strength and beauty are in his sanctuary. 7Ascribe to Yahweh, you families of nations, ascribe to Yahweh glory and strength. 8Ascribe to Yahweh the glory due to his name. Bring an offering, and come into his courts. 9Worship Yahweh in holy array. Tremble before him, all the earth. 10Say among the nations, “Yahweh reigns.” The world is also established. It can’t be moved. He will judge the peoples with equity. 11Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice. Let the sea roar, and its fullness! 12Let the field and all that is in it exult! Then all the trees of the woods shall sing for joy 13before Yahweh; for he comes, for he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world with righteousness, the peoples with his truth.

1Zingt den HEERE een nieuw lied; zingt de HEERE, gij ganse aarde! 2Zingt den HEERE, looft Zijn Naam; boodschapt Zijn heil van dag tot dag. 3Vertelt onder de heidenen Zijn eer, onder alle volken Zijn wonderen. 4Want de HEERE is groot, en zeer te prijzen; Hij is vreselijk boven alle goden. 5Want al de goden der volken zijn afgoden; maar de HEERE heeft de hemelen gemaakt. 6Majesteit en heerlijkheid zijn voor Zijn aangezicht, sterkte en sieraad in Zijn heiligdom. 7Geeft den HEERE, gij geslachten der volken! geeft den HEERE eer en sterkte. 8Geeft den HEERE de eer Zijns Naams; brengt offer, en komt in Zijn voorhoven. 9Aanbidt den HEERE in de heerlijkheid des heiligdoms; schrikt voor Zijn aangezicht, gij ganse aarde. 10Zegt onder de heidenen: De HEERE regeert; ook zal de wereld bevestigd worden, zij zal niet bewogen worden; Hij zal de volken richten in alle rechtmatigheid. 11Dat de hemelen zich verblijden, en de aarde zich verheuge, dat de zee bruise met haar volheid. 12Dat het veld huppele van vreugde met al wat er in is, dat dan al de bomen des wouds juichen. 13Voor het aangezicht des HEEREN; want Hij komt, want Hij komt, om de aarde te richten; Hij zal de wereld richten met gerechtigheid, en de volken met Zijn waarheid.
