Salmi 138

1Salmo di Davide. Io ti celebrerò con tutto il mio cuore, dinanzi agli dèi salmeggerò a te. 2Adorerò vòlto al tempio della tua santità, celebrerò il tuo nome per la tua benignità e per la tua fedeltà; poiché tu hai magnificato la tua parola oltre ogni tua rinomanza. 3Nel giorno che ho gridato a te, tu m’hai risposto, m’hai riempito di coraggio, dando forza all’anima mia. 4Tutti i re della terra ti celebreranno, o Eterno, quando avranno udito le parole della tua bocca; 5e canteranno le vie dell’Eterno, perché grande è la gloria dell’Eterno. 6Sì, eccelso è l’Eterno, eppure ha riguardo agli umili, e da lungi conosce l’altero. 7Se io cammino in mezzo alla distretta, tu mi ridai la vita; tu stendi la mano contro l’ira dei miei nemici, e la tua destra mi salva. 8L’Eterno compirà in mio favore l’opera sua; la tua benignità, o Eterno, dura in perpetuo; non abbandonare le opere delle tue mani.

1I will give you thanks with my whole heart. Before the gods, I will sing praises to you. 2I will bow down toward your holy temple, and give thanks to your Name for your loving kindness and for your truth; for you have exalted your Name and your Word above all. 3In the day that I called, you answered me. You encouraged me with strength in my soul. 4All the kings of the earth will give you thanks, Yahweh, for they have heard the words of your mouth. 5Yes, they will sing of the ways of Yahweh; for great is Yahweh’s glory. 6For though Yahweh is high, yet he looks after the lowly; but the proud, he knows from afar. 7Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you will revive me. You will stretch out your hand against the wrath of my enemies. Your right hand will save me. 8Yahweh will fulfill that which concerns me; your loving kindness, Yahweh, endures forever. Don’t forsake the works of your own hands.

1Een psalm van David. Ik zal U loven met mijn gehele hart; in de tegenwoordigheid der goden zal ik U psalmzingen. 2Ik zal mij nederbuigen naar het paleis Uwer heiligheid, en ik zal Uw Naam loven, om Uw goedertierenheid en om Uw waarheid; want Gij hebt vanwege Uw gansen Naam Uw woord groot gemaakt. 3Ten dage, als ik riep, zo hebt Gij mij verhoord; Gij hebt mij versterkt met kracht in mijn ziel. 4Alle koningen der aarde zullen U, o HEERE! loven, wanneer zij gehoord zullen hebben de redenen Uws monds. 5En zij zullen zingen van de wegen des HEEREN, want de heerlijkheid des HEEREN is groot. 6Want de HEERE is hoog, nochtans ziet Hij de nederige aan, en den verhevene kent Hij van verre. 7Als ik wandel in het midden der benauwdheid, maakt Gij mij levend; Uw hand strekt Gij uit tegen den toorn mijner vijanden, en Uw rechterhand behoudt mij. 8De HEERE zal het voor mij voleinden; Uw goedertierenheid, HEERE! is in der eeuwigheid; en laat niet varen de werken Uwer handen.
