Salmi 50

1Salmo di Asaf. Il Potente, Iddio, l’Eterno ha parlato e ha convocato la terra dal sol levante al ponente. 2Da Sion, perfetta in bellezza, Dio è apparso nel suo fulgore. 3L’Iddio nostro viene e non se ne starà cheto; lo precede un fuoco divorante, lo circonda una fiera tempesta. 4Egli chiama i cieli di sopra e la terra per assistere al giudicio del suo popolo: 5Adunatemi, dice, i miei fedeli che han fatto meco un patto mediante sacrifizio. 6E i cieli proclameranno la sua giustizia; perché Dio stesso sta per giudicare. Sela. 7Ascolta, popolo mio, ed io parlerò; ascolta, o Israele, e io ti farò le mie rimostranze. Io sono Iddio, l’Iddio tuo. 8Io non ti riprenderò a motivo de’ tuoi sacrifizi; i tuoi olocausti stanno dinanzi a me del continuo. 9Io non prenderò giovenchi dalla tua casa né becchi dai tuoi ovili; 10perché mie son tutte le bestie della foresta, mio è il bestiame ch’è per i monti a migliaia. 11Io conosco tutti gli uccelli del monti, e quel che si muove per la campagna è a mia disposizione. 12Se avessi fame, non te lo direi, perché il mondo, con tutto quel che contiene, è mio. 13Mangio io carne di tori, o bevo io sangue di becchi? 14Offri a Dio il sacrifizio della lode, e paga all’Altissimo i tuoi voti; 15e invocami nel giorno della distretta: io te ne trarrò fuori, e tu mi glorificherai. 16Ma quanto all’empio, Iddio gli dice: Spetta egli a te di parlar de’ miei statuti, e di aver sulle labbra il mio patto? 17A te che odii la correzione e ti getti dietro alle spalle le mie parole? 18Se vedi un ladro, tu ti diletti nella sua compagnia, e sei il socio degli adulteri. 19Tu abbandoni la tua bocca al male, e la tua lingua intesse frodi. 20Tu siedi e parli contro il tuo fratello, tu diffami il figlio di tua madre. 21Tu hai fatto queste cose, ed io mi son taciuto, e tu hai pensato ch’io fossi del tutto come te; ma io ti riprenderò, e ti metterò tutto davanti agli occhi. 22Deh, intendete questo, voi che dimenticate Iddio; che talora io non vi dilanii e non vi sia chi vi liberi. 23Chi mi offre il sacrifizio della lode mi glorifica, e a chi regola bene la sua condotta, io farò vedere la salvezza di Dio.

1The Mighty One, God, Yahweh, speaks, and calls the earth from sunrise to sunset. 2Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God shines out. 3Our God comes, and does not keep silent. A fire devours before him. It is very stormy around him. 4He calls to the heavens above, to the earth, that he may judge his people: 5“Gather my saints together to me, those who have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.” 6The heavens shall declare his righteousness, for God himself is judge. Selah. 7“Hear, my people, and I will speak; Israel, and I will testify against you. I am God, your God. 8I don’t rebuke you for your sacrifices. Your burnt offerings are continually before me. 9I have no need for a bull from your stall, nor male goats from your pens. 10For every animal of the forest is mine, and the livestock on a thousand hills. 11I know all the birds of the mountains. The wild animals of the field are mine. 12If I were hungry, I would not tell you, for the world is mine, and all that is in it. 13Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats? 14Offer to God the sacrifice of thanksgiving. Pay your vows to the Most High. 15Call on me in the day of trouble. I will deliver you, and you will honor me.” 16But to the wicked God says, “What right do you have to declare my statutes, that you have taken my covenant on your lips, 17since you hate instruction, and throw my words behind you? 18When you saw a thief, you consented with him, and have participated with adulterers. 19“You give your mouth to evil. Your tongue frames deceit. 20You sit and speak against your brother. You slander your own mother’s son. 21You have done these things, and I kept silent. You thought that I was just like you. I will rebuke you, and accuse you in front of your eyes. 22“Now consider this, you who forget God, lest I tear you into pieces, and there be no one to deliver. 23Whoever offers the sacrifice of thanksgiving glorifies me, and prepares his way so that I will show God’s salvation to him.”

1Een psalm van Asaf. De God der goden, de HEERE spreekt, en roept de aarde, van den opgang der zon tot aan haar ondergang. 2Uit Sion, de volkomenheid der schoonheid, verschijnt God blinkende. 3Onze God zal komen en zal niet zwijgen; een vuur voor Zijn aangezicht zal verteren, en rondom Hem zal het zeer stormen. 4Hij zal roepen tot den hemel van boven, en tot de aarde, om Zijn volk te richten. 5Verzamelt Mij Mijn gunstgenoten, die Mijn verbond maken met offerande! 6En de hemelen verkondigen Zijn gerechtigheid; want God Zelf is Rechter. Sela. 7Hoort, Mijn volk! en Ik zal spreken; Israel! en Ik zal onder u betuigen; Ik, God, ben uw God. 8Om uw offeranden zal Ik u niet straffen, want uw brandofferen zijn steeds voor Mij. 9Ik zal uit uw huis geen var nemen, noch bokken uit uw kooien; 10Want al het gedierte des wouds is Mijn, de beesten op duizend bergen. 11Ik ken al het gevogelte der bergen, en het wild des velds is bij Mij. 12Zo Mij hongerde, Ik zou het u niet zeggen; want Mijn is de wereld en haar volheid. 13Zou Ik stierenvlees eten, of bokkenbloed drinken? 14Offert Gode dank, en betaalt den Allerhoogste uw geloften. 15En roept Mij aan in den dag der benauwdheid; Ik zal er u uithelpen, en gij zult Mij eren. 16Maar tot den goddeloze zegt God: Wat hebt gij Mijn inzettingen te vertellen, en neemt Mijn verbond in uw mond? 17Dewijl gij de kastijding haat, en Mijn woorden achter u henenwerpt. 18Indien gij een dief ziet, zo loopt gij met hem; en uw deel is met de overspelers. 19Uw mond slaat gij in het kwade, en uw tong koppelt bedrog. 20Gij zit, gij spreekt tegen uw broeder; tegen den zoon uwer moeder geeft gij lastering uit. 21Deze dingen doet gij, en Ik zwijg; gij meent, dat Ik te enenmale ben, gelijk gij; Ik zal u straffen, en zal het ordentelijk voor uw ogen stellen. 22Verstaat dit toch, gij godvergetenden! opdat Ik niet verscheure en niemand redde. 23Wie dankoffert, die zal Mij eren; en wie zijn weg wel aanstelt, dien zal Ik Gods heil doen zien.
