Salmi 33

1Giubilate, o giusti, nell’Eterno; la lode s’addice agli uomini retti. 2Celebrate l’Eterno con la cetra; salmeggiate a lui col saltèro a dieci corde. 3Cantategli un cantico nuovo, sonate maestrevolmente con giubilo. 4Poiché la parola dell’Eterno è diritta e tutta l’opera sua è fatta con fedeltà. 5Egli ama la giustizia e l’equità; la terra è piena della benignità dell’Eterno. 6I cieli furon fatti dalla parola dell’Eterno, e tutto il loro esercito dal soffio della sua bocca. 7Egli adunò le acque del mare come in un mucchio; egli ammassò gli abissi in serbatoi. 8Tutta la terra tema l’Eterno; lo paventino tutti gli abitanti del mondo. 9Poich’egli parlò, e la cosa fu; egli comandò e la cosa sorse. 10L’Eterno dissipa il consiglio delle nazioni, egli annulla i disegni dei popoli. 11Il consiglio dell’Eterno sussiste in perpetuo, i disegni del suo cuore durano d’età in età. 12Beata la nazione il cui Dio è l’Eterno; beato il popolo ch’egli ha scelto per sua eredità. 13L’Eterno guarda dal cielo; egli vede tutti i figliuoli degli uomini: 14dal luogo ove dimora, osserva tutti gli abitanti della terra; 15egli, che ha formato il cuore di loro tutti, che considera tutte le opere loro. 16Il re non è salvato per grandezza d’esercito; il prode non scampa per la sua gran forza. 17Il cavallo è cosa fallace per salvare; esso non può liberare alcuno col suo grande vigore. 18Ecco, l’occhio dell’Eterno è su quelli che lo temono, su quelli che sperano nella sua benignità, 19per liberare l’anima loro dalla morte e per conservarli in vita in tempo di fame. 20L’anima nostra aspetta l’Eterno; egli è il nostro aiuto e il nostro scudo. 21In lui, certo, si rallegrerà il cuor nostro, perché abbiam confidato nel nome della sua santità. 22La tua benignità, o Eterno, sia sopra noi, poiché noi abbiamo sperato in te.

1Rejoice in Yahweh, you righteous! Praise is fitting for the upright. 2Give thanks to Yahweh with the lyre. Sing praises to him with the harp of ten strings. 3Sing to him a new song. Play skillfully with a shout of joy! 4For Yahweh’s word is right. All his work is done in faithfulness. 5He loves righteousness and justice. The earth is full of the loving kindness of Yahweh. 6By Yahweh’s word, the heavens were made; all their army by the breath of his mouth. 7He gathers the waters of the sea together as a heap. He lays up the deeps in storehouses. 8Let all the earth fear Yahweh. Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him. 9For he spoke, and it was done. He commanded, and it stood firm. 10Yahweh brings the counsel of the nations to nothing. He makes the thoughts of the peoples to be of no effect. 11The counsel of Yahweh stands fast forever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations. 12Blessed is the nation whose God is Yahweh, the people whom he has chosen for his own inheritance. 13Yahweh looks from heaven. He sees all the sons of men. 14From the place of his habitation he looks out on all the inhabitants of the earth, 15he who fashions all of their hearts; and he considers all of their works. 16There is no king saved by the multitude of an army. A mighty man is not delivered by great strength. 17A horse is a vain thing for safety, neither does he deliver any by his great power. 18Behold, Yahweh’s eye is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his loving kindness; 19to deliver their soul from death, to keep them alive in famine. 20Our soul has waited for Yahweh. He is our help and our shield. 21For our heart rejoices in him, because we have trusted in his holy name. 22Let your loving kindness be on us, Yahweh, since we have hoped in you.

1Gij rechtvaardigen! zingt vrolijk in den HEERE; lof betaamt den oprechten. 2Looft den HEERE met de harp; psalmzingt Hem met de luit, en het tiensnarig instrument. 3Zingt Hem een nieuw lied; speelt wel met vrolijk geschal. 4Want des HEEREN woord is recht, en al Zijn werk getrouw. 5Hij heeft gerechtigheid en gericht lief; de aarde is vol van de goedertierenheid des HEEREN. 6Door het Woord des HEEREN zijn de hemelen gemaakt, en door den Geest Zijns monds al hun heir. 7Hij vergadert de wateren der zee als op een hoop; Hij stelt den afgronden schatkameren. 8Laat de ganse aarde voor den HEERE vrezen; laat alle inwoners van de wereld voor Hem schrikken. 9Want Hij spreekt, en het is er; Hij gebiedt, en het staat er. 10De HEERE vernietigt den raad der heidenen; Hij breekt de gedachten der volken. 11Maar de raad des HEEREN bestaat in eeuwigheid, de gedachten Zijns harten van geslacht tot geslacht. 12Welgelukzalig is het volk, welks God de HEERE is; het volk, dat Hij Zich ten erve verkoren heeft. 13De HEERE schouwt uit den hemel, en ziet alle mensenkinderen. 14Hij ziet uit van Zijn vaste woonplaats op alle inwoners der aarde. 15Hij formeert hun aller hart; Hij let op al hun werken. 16Een koning wordt niet behouden door een groot heir; een held wordt niet gered door grote kracht; 17Het paard feilt ter overwinning, en bevrijdt niet door zijn grote sterkte. 18Ziet, des HEEREN oog is over degenen, die Hem vrezen, op degenen, die op Zijn goedertierenheid hopen. 19Om hun ziel van den dood te redden, en om hen bij het leven te houden in den honger. 20Onze ziel verbeidt den HEERE: Hij is onze Hulp en ons Schild. 21Want ons hart is in Hem verblijd, omdat wij op den Naam Zijner heiligheid vertrouwen. 22Uw goedertierenheid, HEERE! zij over ons; gelijk als wij op U hopen.
