Salmi 5

1Al Capo de’ musici. Per strumenti a fiato. Salmo di Davide. Porgi l’orecchio alle mie parole, o Eterno, sii attento ai miei sospiri. 2Odi la voce del mio grido, o mio Re e mio Dio, perché a te rivolgo la mia preghiera. 3O Eterno, al mattino tu ascolterai la mia voce; al mattino ti offrirò la mia preghiera e aspetterò; 4poiché tu non sei un Dio che prenda piacere nell’empietà; il malvagio non sarà tuo ospite. 5Quelli che si gloriano non sussisteranno dinanzi agli occhi tuoi; tu odii tutti gli operatori d’iniquità. 6Tu farai perire quelli che dicon menzogne; l’Eterno aborrisce l’uomo di sangue e di frode. 7Ma io, per la grandezza della tua benignità, entrerò nella tua casa; e, vòlto al tempio della tua santità, adorerò nel tuo timore. 8O Eterno, guidami per la tua giustizia, a cagion de’ miei insidiatori; ch’io veda diritta innanzi a me la tua via; 9poiché in bocca loro non v’è sincerità, il loro interno è pieno di malizia; la loro gola è un sepolcro aperto, lusingano con la loro lingua. 10Condannali, o Dio! non riescano nei loro disegni! Scacciali per la moltitudine de’ loro misfatti, poiché si son ribellati contro a te. 11E si rallegreranno tutti quelli che in te confidano; manderanno in perpetuo grida di gioia. Tu stenderai su loro la tua protezione, e quelli che amano il tuo nome festeggeranno in te, 12perché tu, o Eterno, benedirai il giusto; tu lo circonderai di benevolenza, come d’uno scudo.

1Give ear to my words, Yahweh. Consider my meditation. 2Listen to the voice of my cry, my King and my God; for to you do I pray. 3Yahweh, in the morning you shall hear my voice. In the morning I will lay my requests before you, and will watch expectantly. 4For you are not a God who has pleasure in wickedness. Evil can’t live with you. 5The arrogant shall not stand in your sight. You hate all workers of iniquity. 6You will destroy those who speak lies. Yahweh abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man. 7But as for me, in the abundance of your loving kindness I will come into your house. I will bow toward your holy temple in reverence of you. 8Lead me, Yahweh, in your righteousness because of my enemies. Make your way straight before my face. 9For there is no faithfulness in their mouth. Their heart is destruction. Their throat is an open tomb. They flatter with their tongue. 10Hold them guilty, God. Let them fall by their own counsels; Thrust them out in the multitude of their transgressions, for they have rebelled against you. 11But let all those who take refuge in you rejoice, Let them always shout for joy, because you defend them. Let them also who love your name be joyful in you. 12For you will bless the righteous. Yahweh, you will surround him with favor as with a shield.

1Een psalm van David, voor den opperzangmeester, op de Nechiloth. 2O HEERE, neem mijn redenen ter ore; versta mijn overdenking. 3Merk op de stem mijns geroeps, o mijn Koning en mijn God! Want tot U zal ik bidden. 4Des morgens, HEERE, zult Gij mijn stem horen; des morgens zal ik mij tot U schikken, en wacht houden. 5Want Gij zijt geen God, Die lust heeft aan goddeloosheid; de boze zal bij U niet verkeren. 6De onzinnigen zullen voor Uw ogen niet bestaan; Gij haat alle werkers der ongerechtigheid. 7Gij zult de leugensprekers verdoen; van den man des bloeds en des bedrogs heeft de HEERE een gruwel. 8Maar ik zal door de grootheid Uwer goedertierenheid in Uw huis ingaan; ik zal mij buigen naar het paleis Uwer heiligheid, in Uw vreze. 9HEERE! Leid mij in Uw gerechtigheid, om mijner verspieders wil; richt Uw weg voor mijn aangezicht. 10Want in hun mond is niets rechts, hun binnenste is enkel verderving, hun keel is een open graf, met hun tong vleien zij. 11Verklaar hen schuldig, o God; laat hen vervallen van hun raadslagen; drijf hen henen om de veelheid hunner overtredingen, want zij zijn wederspannig tegen U. 12Maar laat verblijd zijn allen, die op U betrouwen, tot in eeuwigheid; laat hen juichen, omdat Gij hen overdekt; en laat in U van vreugde opspringen, die Uw Naam liefhebben. Want Gij, HEERE, zult den rechtvaardige zegenen; Gij zult hem met goedgunstigheid kronen, als met een rondas.
