Thi-thiên 53

1Kẻ ngu dại nói trong lòng rằng: Chẳng có Ðức Chúa Trời. Chúng nó đều bại hoại, phạm tội ác gớm ghiếc; Chẳng có ai làm điều lành. 2Ðức Chúa Trời từ trên trời ngó xuống con loài người, Ðặng xem thử có ai thông sáng, Tìm kiếm Ðức Chúa Trời chăng. 3Chúng nó thay thảy đều lui lại, cùng nhau trở nên ô uế; Chẳng có ai làm điều lành, Dầu một người cũng không. 4Các kẻ làm ác há chẳng hiểu biết sao? Chúng nó ăn nuốt dân ta khác nào ăn bánh, Và cũng chẳng hề khẩn cầu Ðức Chúa Trời. 5Nơi chẳng có sự kinh khiếp, Chúng nó bị cơn kinh khiếp áp bắt; Vì Ðức Chúa Trời rải rắc cốt hài của kẻ đóng đối nghịch ngươi. Ngươi đã làm cho chúng nó hổ thẹn, vì Ðức Chúa Trời từ bỏ chúng nó. 6Ôi! chớ chi từ Si-ôn sự cứu rỗi của Y-sơ-ra-ên đã đến! Khi Ðức Chúa Trời đem về các phu tù của dân sự Ngài, Thì Gia-cốp sẽ mừng rỡ và Y-sơ-ra-ên vui vẻ.

1The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, and have done abominable iniquity. There is no one who does good. 2God looks down from heaven on the children of men, to see if there are any who understood, who seek after God. 3Every one of them has gone back. They have become filthy together. There is no one who does good, no, not one. 4Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge, who eat up my people as they eat bread, and don’t call on God? 5There they were in great fear, where no fear was, for God has scattered the bones of him who encamps against you. You have put them to shame, because God has rejected them. 6Oh that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion! When God brings back his people from captivity, then Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.

1Een onderwijzing van David, voor den opperzangmeester, op Machalath. 2De dwaas zegt in zijn hart: Er is geen God; zij verderven het, en zij bedrijven gruwelijk onrecht; er is niemand, die goed doet. 3God heeft van den hemel nedergezien op de mensenkinderen, om te zien, of iemand verstandig ware, die God zocht. 4Een ieder van hen is teruggekeerd, te zamen zijn zij stinkende geworden, er is niemand, die goed doet, ook niet een. 5Hebben dan de werkers der ongerechtigheid geen kennis, die Mijn volk opeten, alsof zij brood aten? Zij roepen God niet aan. 6Aldaar zijn zij met vervaardheid vervaard geworden, waar geen vervaardheid was; want God heeft de beenderen desgenen, die u belegerde, verstrooid; gij hebt hen beschaamd gemaakt, want God heeft hen verworpen. Och, dat Israels verlossingen uit Sion kwamen! Als God de gevangenen Zijns volks zal doen wederkeren, dan zal zich Jakob verheugen, Israel zal verblijd zijn.
