1Ðức Chúa Trời ôi! linh hồn tôi mơ ước Chúa, Như con nai cái thèm khát khe nước. 2Linh hồn tôi khát khao Ðức Chúa Trời, là Ðức Chúa Trời hằng sống: Tôi sẽ đến ra mắt Ðức Chúa Trời chừng nào? 3Ðương khi người ta hằng hỏi tôi: Ðức Chúa Trời ngươi đâu? Thì nước mắt làm đồ ăn tôi ngày và đêm. 4Xưa tôi đi cùng đoàn chúng, Dẫn họ đến nhà Ðức Chúa Trời, Có tiếng reo mừng và khen ngợi. Một đoàn đông giữ lễ; Rày tôi nhớ lại điều ấy, và lòng buồn thảm. 5Hỡi linh hồn ta, vì sao ngươi sờn ngã và bồn chồn trong mình ta? Hãy trông cậy nơi Ðức Chúa Trời; ta sẽ còn ngợi khen Ngài nữa; Vì nhờ mặt Ngài, bèn được cứu rỗi. 6Ðức Chúa Trời tôi ôi! linh hồn tôi bị sờn ngã trong mình tôi; Nên từ xứ Giô-đanh, Từ núi Hẹt-môn, và từ gò Mít-sê-a, tôi nhớ đến Chúa. 7Vực gọi vực theo tiếng ào ào của thác nước Chúa; Các lượn sóng và nước lớn của Chúa đã ngập tôi. 8Dầu vậy, ban ngày Ðức Giê-hô-va sẽ sai khiến sự nhơn từ Ngài; Còn ban đêm bài hát Ngài ở cùng tôi, Tức là bài cầu nguyện cùng Ðức Chúa Trời của mạng sống tôi. 9Tôi sẽ thưa cùng Ðức Chúa Trời, là hòn đá tôi, rằng: Cớ sao Chúa quên tôi? Nhơn sao tôi phải buồn thảm Vì cớ kẻ thù nghịch hà hiếp tôi? 10Trong khi những cừu địch tôi hằng ngày hỏi rằng: Ðức Chúa Trời ngươi đâu? Thì chúng nó sỉ nhục tôi khác nào làm gãy xương cốt tôi. 11Hỡi linh hồn ta, cớ sao ngươi sờn ngã và bồn chồn trong mình ta? Hãy trông cậy nơi Ðức Chúa Trời; ta sẽ còn khen ngợi Ngài nữa: Ngài là sự cứu rỗi của mặt ta, và là Ðức Chúa Trời ta.
1As the deer pants for the water brooks, so my soul pants after you, God. 2My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God? 3My tears have been my food day and night, while they continually ask me, “Where is your God?” 4These things I remember, and pour out my soul within me, how I used to go with the crowd, and led them to God’s house, with the voice of joy and praise, a multitude keeping a holy day. 5Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God! For I shall still praise him for the saving help of his presence. 6My God, my soul is in despair within me. Therefore I remember you from the land of the Jordan, the heights of Hermon, from the hill Mizar. 7Deep calls to deep at the noise of your waterfalls. All your waves and your billows have swept over me. 8Yahweh will command his loving kindness in the daytime. In the night his song shall be with me: a prayer to the God of my life. 9I will ask God, my rock, “Why have you forgotten me? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?” 10As with a sword in my bones, my adversaries reproach me, while they continually ask me, “Where is your God?” 11Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God! For I shall still praise him, the saving help of my countenance, and my God.
1Een onderwijzing, voor den opperzangmeester, onder de kinderen van Korach. 2Gelijk een hert schreeuwt naar de waterstromen, alzo schreeuwt mijn ziel tot U, o God! 3Mijn ziel dorst naar God, naar den levenden God; wanneer zal ik ingaan, en voor Gods aangezicht verschijnen? 4Mijn tranen zijn mij tot spijs dag en nacht; omdat zij den gansen dag tot mij zeggen: Waar is uw God? 5Ik gedenk daaraan, en stort mijn ziel uit in mij, omdat ik placht heen te gaan onder de schare, en met hen te treden naar Gods huis, met een stem van vreugdegezang en lof, onder de feesthoudende menigte. 6Wat buigt gij u neder, o mijn ziel! en zijt onrustig in mij? Hoop op God, want ik zal Hem nog loven voor de verlossingen Zijns aangezichts. 7O mijn God! mijn ziel buigt zich neder in mij, daarom gedenk ik Uwer uit het land van de Jordaan, en Hermon, uit het klein gebergte. 8De afgrond roept tot den afgrond, bij het gedruis Uwer watergoten; al Uw baren en Uw golven zijn over mij heengegaan. 9Maar de HEERE zal des daags Zijn goedertierenheid gebieden, en des nachts zal Zijn lied bij mij zijn; het gebed tot den God mijns levens. 10Ik zal zeggen tot God: Mijn Steenrots! waarom vergeet Gij mij? Waarom ga ik in het zwart, vanwege des vijands onderdrukking? 11Met een doodsteek in mijn beenderen honen mij mijn wederpartijders, als zij den gansen dag tot mij zeggen: Waar is uw God? Wat buigt gij u neder, o mijn ziel! en wat zijt gij onrustig in mij? Hoop op God, want ik zal Hem nog loven; Hij is de menigvuldige Verlossing mijns aangezichts, en mijn God.
