Salmos 33

1Cantai ao SENHOR, vós que sois justos; aos corretos convém louvar. 2Louvai ao SENHOR com harpa; cantai a ele com alaúde e instrumento de dez cordas. 3Cantai-lhe uma canção nova; tocai instrumento bem com alegria. 4Porque a palavra do SENHOR é correta; e todas suas obras são fiéis. 5Ele ama a justiça e o juízo; a terra está cheia da bondade do SENHOR. 6Pala palavra do SENHOR foram feitos os céus; e todo o seu exército foi feito pelo sopro de sua boca. 7Ele junta as águas do mar como se estivessem empilhadas; aos abismos ele põe como depósitos de tesouros. 8Toda a terra, tenha temor ao SENHOR; todos os moradores do mundo prestem reverência a ele. 9Porque ele falou, e logo se fez; ele mandou, e logo apareceu. 10O SENHOR desfez a intenção das nações; ele destruiu os planos dos povos. 11O conselho do SENHOR permanece para sempre; as intenções de seu coração continuam de geração após geração. 12Bem-aventurada é a nação em que seu Deus é o SENHOR; o povo que ele escolheu para si por herança. 13O SENHOR olha desde os céus; ele vê a todos os filhos dos homens. 14Desde sua firme morada ele observa a todos os moradores da terra. 15Ele forma o coração de todos eles; ele avalia todas as obras deles. 16O rei não se salva pela grandeza de seu exército, nem o valente escapa do perigo pela sua muita força. 17O cavalo é falho como segurança, com sua grande força não livra do perigo. 18Eis que os olhos do SENHOR estão sobre aqueles que o temem, sobre os que esperam pela sua bondade. 19Para livrar a alma deles da morte, e para os manter vivos durante a fome. 20Nossa alma espera no SENHOR; ele é nossa socorro e nosso escudo. 21Porque nele nosso coração se alegra, porque confiamos no nome de sua santidade. 22Que tua bondade, SENOR, esteja sobre nós, assim como nós esperamos em ti.

1Rejoice in Yahweh, you righteous! Praise is fitting for the upright. 2Give thanks to Yahweh with the lyre. Sing praises to him with the harp of ten strings. 3Sing to him a new song. Play skillfully with a shout of joy! 4For Yahweh’s word is right. All his work is done in faithfulness. 5He loves righteousness and justice. The earth is full of the loving kindness of Yahweh. 6By Yahweh’s word, the heavens were made; all their army by the breath of his mouth. 7He gathers the waters of the sea together as a heap. He lays up the deeps in storehouses. 8Let all the earth fear Yahweh. Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him. 9For he spoke, and it was done. He commanded, and it stood firm. 10Yahweh brings the counsel of the nations to nothing. He makes the thoughts of the peoples to be of no effect. 11The counsel of Yahweh stands fast forever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations. 12Blessed is the nation whose God is Yahweh, the people whom he has chosen for his own inheritance. 13Yahweh looks from heaven. He sees all the sons of men. 14From the place of his habitation he looks out on all the inhabitants of the earth, 15he who fashions all of their hearts; and he considers all of their works. 16There is no king saved by the multitude of an army. A mighty man is not delivered by great strength. 17A horse is a vain thing for safety, neither does he deliver any by his great power. 18Behold, Yahweh’s eye is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his loving kindness; 19to deliver their soul from death, to keep them alive in famine. 20Our soul has waited for Yahweh. He is our help and our shield. 21For our heart rejoices in him, because we have trusted in his holy name. 22Let your loving kindness be on us, Yahweh, since we have hoped in you.

1Gij rechtvaardigen! zingt vrolijk in den HEERE; lof betaamt den oprechten. 2Looft den HEERE met de harp; psalmzingt Hem met de luit, en het tiensnarig instrument. 3Zingt Hem een nieuw lied; speelt wel met vrolijk geschal. 4Want des HEEREN woord is recht, en al Zijn werk getrouw. 5Hij heeft gerechtigheid en gericht lief; de aarde is vol van de goedertierenheid des HEEREN. 6Door het Woord des HEEREN zijn de hemelen gemaakt, en door den Geest Zijns monds al hun heir. 7Hij vergadert de wateren der zee als op een hoop; Hij stelt den afgronden schatkameren. 8Laat de ganse aarde voor den HEERE vrezen; laat alle inwoners van de wereld voor Hem schrikken. 9Want Hij spreekt, en het is er; Hij gebiedt, en het staat er. 10De HEERE vernietigt den raad der heidenen; Hij breekt de gedachten der volken. 11Maar de raad des HEEREN bestaat in eeuwigheid, de gedachten Zijns harten van geslacht tot geslacht. 12Welgelukzalig is het volk, welks God de HEERE is; het volk, dat Hij Zich ten erve verkoren heeft. 13De HEERE schouwt uit den hemel, en ziet alle mensenkinderen. 14Hij ziet uit van Zijn vaste woonplaats op alle inwoners der aarde. 15Hij formeert hun aller hart; Hij let op al hun werken. 16Een koning wordt niet behouden door een groot heir; een held wordt niet gered door grote kracht; 17Het paard feilt ter overwinning, en bevrijdt niet door zijn grote sterkte. 18Ziet, des HEEREN oog is over degenen, die Hem vrezen, op degenen, die op Zijn goedertierenheid hopen. 19Om hun ziel van den dood te redden, en om hen bij het leven te houden in den honger. 20Onze ziel verbeidt den HEERE: Hij is onze Hulp en ons Schild. 21Want ons hart is in Hem verblijd, omdat wij op den Naam Zijner heiligheid vertrouwen. 22Uw goedertierenheid, HEERE! zij over ons; gelijk als wij op U hopen.
