1Bendito seja o SENHOR, rocha minha, que ensina minhas mãos para a batalha, e meus dedos para a guerra. 2Ele é minha bondade e meu castelo; meu alto refúgio, e meu libertador; ele é meu escudo, em quem confio; e aquele que faz meu povo se submeter a mim. 3Ó SENHOR, o que é o homem para que lhe dês atenção? E o filho do homem, para que com ele te importes? 4O homem é semelhante a um sopro; seus dias, como a sombra que passa. 5Ó SENHOR, abaixa teus céus, e desce; toca os montes, e fumeguem. 6Lança relâmpagos, e os dispersa; envia tuas flechas, e os derrota. 7Estende tuas mãos desde o alto; livra-me, e resgata-me das muitas águas, das mãos dos filhos de estrangeiros; 8Cuja boca fala coisas inúteis, e sua mão direita é a mão direita da mentira. 9Ó Deus, a ti cantarei uma canção nova; com harpa e instrumento de dez cordas tocarei música a ti. 10Tu és o que dás vitória aos reis, e livras a Davi, teu servo, da espada maligna. 11Livra-me e resgata-me das mãos dos filhos de estrangeiros; cuja boca fala mentiras, e sua mão direita é mão direita de falsidade. 12Para que nossos filhos sejam como plantas, que crescem em sua juventude; e nossas filhas sejam como esquinas entalhadas ao modo do palácio. 13Nossos celeiros sejam cheios de todos os tipos de mantimentos; nosso gado seja aos milhares, e dezenas de milhares em nossos campos. 14Nossos bois sejam vigorosos; não haja nem assalto, nem fugas, nem gritos em nossas ruas. 15Bem-aventurado é o povo que assim lhe acontece ; bem-aventurado é o povo cujo Deus é o SENHOR!
1Blessed be Yahweh, my rock, who teaches my hands to war, and my fingers to battle: 2my loving kindness, my fortress, my high tower, my deliverer, my shield, and he in whom I take refuge; who subdues my people under me. 3Yahweh, what is man, that you care for him? Or the son of man, that you think of him? 4Man is like a breath. His days are like a shadow that passes away. 5Part your heavens, Yahweh, and come down. Touch the mountains, and they will smoke. 6Throw out lightning, and scatter them. Send out your arrows, and rout them. 7Stretch out your hand from above, rescue me, and deliver me out of great waters, out of the hands of foreigners; 8whose mouths speak deceit, Whose right hand is a right hand of falsehood. 9I will sing a new song to you, God. On a ten-stringed lyre, I will sing praises to you. 10You are he who gives salvation to kings, who rescues David, his servant, from the deadly sword. 11Rescue me, and deliver me out of the hands of foreigners, whose mouths speak deceit, whose right hand is a right hand of falsehood. 12Then our sons will be like well-nurtured plants, our daughters like pillars carved to adorn a palace. 13Our barns are full, filled with all kinds of provision. Our sheep produce thousands and ten thousands in our fields. 14Our oxen will pull heavy loads. There is no breaking in, and no going away, and no outcry in our streets. 15Happy are the people who are in such a situation. Happy are the people whose God is Yahweh.

Gezegend zij de HEERE, mijn Rotssteen, Die mijn handen onderwijst ten strijde, mijn vingeren ten oorlog; 2Mijn Goedertierenheid en mijn Burg, mijn Hoog Vertrek en mijn Bevrijder voor mij, mijn Schild, en op Wien ik mij betrouwe; Die mijn volk aan mij onderwerpt! 3O HEERE! wat is de mens, dat Gij hem kent, het kind des mensen, dat Gij het acht? 4De mens is der ijdelheid gelijk; zijn dagen zijn als een voorbijgaande schaduw. 5Neig Uw hemelen, HEERE! en daal neder; raak de bergen aan, dat zij roken. 6Bliksem bliksem, en verstrooi hen; zend Uw pijlen uit, en verdoe hen. 7Steek Uw handen van de hoogte uit; ontzet mij, en ruk mij uit de grote wateren, uit de hand der vreemden; 8Welker mond leugen spreekt, en hun rechterhand is een rechterhand der valsheid. 9O God! ik zal U een nieuw lied zingen; met de luit en het tiensnarig instrument zal ik U psalmzingen. 10Gij, die den koningen overwinning geeft, Die Zijn knecht David ontzet van het boze zwaard; 11Ontzet mij en red mij van de hand der vreemden, welker mond leugen spreekt, en hun rechterhand is een rechterhand der valsheid; 12Opdat onze zonen zijn als planten, welke groot geworden zijn in hun jeugd; onze dochter als hoekstenen, uitgehouwen naar de gelijkenis van een paleis. 13Dat onze winkelen vol zijnde, den enen voorraad na den anderen uitgeven; dat onze kudden bij duizenden werpen, ja, bij tienduizenden op onze hoeven vermenigvuldigen. 14Dat onze ossen wel geladen zijn; dat geen inbreuk, noch uitval, noch gekrijs zij op onze straten. 15Welgelukzalig is het volk, dien het alzo gaat; welgelukzalig is het volk, wiens God de HEERE is.
