Salmos 52

1Por que tu, homem poderoso, te orgulhas no mal? A bondade de Deus continua o dia todo. 2Tua língua planeja maldades; é como navalha afiada, que gera falsidades. 3Tu amas mais o mal que o bem, e a mentira mais do que falar justiça. (Selá) 4Tu amas todas as palavras de destruição, ó língua enganadora. 5Porém Deus te derrubará para sempre; ele te tomará, e te arrancará para fora da tenda; e te eliminará de toda a terra dos viventes. (Selá) 6E os justos o verão, e temerão; e rirão dele, dizendo : 7Eis aqui o homem que não pôs sua força em Deus, mas preferiu confiar a abundância de suas riquezas, e fortaleceu em sua maldade. 8Mas eu serei como a oliveira verde na casa de Deus; confio na bondade de Deus para todo o sempre. 9Eu te louvarei para sempre, por causa do que fizeste; e terei esperança em teu nome, porque tu és bom perante teus santos.

1Why do you boast of mischief, mighty man? God’s loving kindness endures continually. 2Your tongue plots destruction, like a sharp razor, working deceitfully. 3You love evil more than good, lying rather than speaking the truth. Selah. 4You love all devouring words, you deceitful tongue. 5God will likewise destroy you forever. He will take you up, and pluck you out of your tent, and root you out of the land of the living. Selah. 6The righteous also will see it, and fear, and laugh at him, saying, 7“Behold, this is the man who didn’t make God his strength, but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.” 8But as for me, I am like a green olive tree in God’s house. I trust in God’s loving kindness forever and ever. 9I will give you thanks forever, because you have done it. I will hope in your name, for it is good, in the presence of your saints.

1Een onderwijzing van David, voor den opperzangmeester. 2Als Doeg, de Edomiet, gekomen was, en Saul te kennen gegeven, en tot hem gezegd had: David is gekomen ten huize van Achimelech. 3Wat beroemt gij u in het kwaad, o gij geweldige? Gods goedertierenheid duurt toch den gansen dag. 4Uw tong denkt enkel schade als een geslepen scheermes, werkende bedrog. 5Gij hebt het kwade liever dan het goede, de leugen, dan gerechtigheid te spreken. Sela. 6Gij hebt lief alle woorden van verslinding, en een tong des bedrogs. 7God zal u ook afbreken in eeuwigheid; Hij zal u wegrapen en u uit de tent uitrukken; ja, Hij zal u uitwortelen uit het land der levenden. Sela. 8En de rechtvaardigen zullen het zien, en vrezen; en zij zullen over hem lachen, zeggende: 9Ziet den man, die God niet stelde tot Zijn Sterkte, maar vertrouwde op de veelheid zijns rijkdoms; hij was sterk geworden door zijn beschadigen. Maar ik zal zijn als een groene olijfboom in Gods huis; ik vertrouw op Gods goedertierenheid eeuwiglijk en altoos. ] [ (Psalms 52:11) Ik zal U loven in eeuwigheid, omdat Gij het gedaan hebt; en ik zal Uw Naam verwachten; want hij is goed voor Uw gunstgenoten.
