Ezechiele 5

1E tu, figliuol d’uomo, prenditi un ferro tagliente, prenditi un rasoio da barbiere, e fattelo passare sul capo e sulla barba; poi prenditi una bilancia da pesare, e dividi i peli che avrai tagliati. 2Bruciane una terza parte nel fuoco in mezzo alla città, quando i giorni dell’assedio saranno compiuti; poi prendine un’altra terza parte, e percuotila con la spada attorno alla città; e disperdi al vento l’ultima terza parte, dietro alla quale io sguainerò la spada. 3E di questa prendi una piccola quantità, e legala nei lembi della tua veste; 4e di questa prendi ancora una parte, gettala nel fuoco, e bruciala nel fuoco; di là uscirà un fuoco contro tutta la casa d’Israele. 5Così parla il Signore, l’Eterno: Ecco Gerusalemme! Io l’avevo posta in mezzo alle nazioni e agli altri paesi che la circondavano; 6ed ella, per darsi all’empietà, s’è ribellata alle mie leggi; più delle nazioni, e alle mie prescrizioni più de’ paesi che la circondano; poiché ha sprezzato le mie leggi, e non ha camminato seguendo le mie prescrizioni. 7Perciò, così parla il Signore, l’Eterno: Poiché voi siete stati più insubordinati delle nazioni che vi circondano, in quanto non avete camminato seguendo le mie prescrizioni e non avete messo ad effetto le mie leggi e non avete neppure agito seguendo le leggi delle nazioni che vi circondano, 8così parla il Signore, l’Eterno: "Eccomi, vengo io da te! ed eseguirò in mezzo a te i miei giudizi, nel cospetto delle nazioni; 9e farò a te quello che non ho mai fatto e che non farò mai più così, a motivo di tutte le tue abominazioni. 10Perciò, in mezzo a te, dei padri mangeranno i loro figliuoli, e dei figliuoli mangeranno i loro padri; e io eseguirò su di te dei giudizi, e disperderò a tutti i venti quel che rimarrà di te. 11Perciò, com’è vero ch’io vivo, dice il Signore, l’Eterno, perché tu hai contaminato il mio santuario con tutte le tue infamie e con tutte le tue abominazioni, anch’io ti raderò, l’occhio mio non risparmierà nessuno e anch’io non avrò pietà. 12Una terza parte di te morrà di peste, e sarà consumata dalla fame in mezzo a te; una terza parte cadrà per la spada attorno a te, e ne disperderò a tutti i venti l’altra terza parte, e sguainerò contro ad essa la spada. 13Così si sfogherà la mia ira, e io soddisfarò su loro il mio furore, e sarò pago; ed essi conosceranno che io, l’Eterno, ho parlato nella mia gelosia, quando avrò sfogato su loro il mio furore. 14E farò di te, sotto gli occhi di tutti i passanti, una desolazione, il vituperio delle nazioni che ti circondano. 15E il tuo obbrobrio e la tua ignominia saranno un ammaestramento e un oggetto di stupore per le nazioni che ti circondano, quand’io avrò eseguito su di te i miei giudizi con ira, con furore, con indignati castighi son io l’Eterno, che parlo 16quando avrò scoccato contro di loro i letali dardi della fame, apportatori di distruzione e che io tirerò per distruggervi, quando avrò aggravata su voi la fame e vi avrò fatto venir meno il sostegno del pane, 17quando avrò mandato contro di voi la fame e le male bestie che ti priveranno de’ figliuoli, quando la peste e il sangue saran passati per mezzo a te, e quando io avrò fatto venire su di te la spada. Io, l’Eterno, son quegli che parla!"

1You, son of man, take a sharp sword; You shall take it as a barber’s razor to you, and shall cause it to pass on your head and on your beard: then take balances to weigh, and divide the hair. 2A third part you shall burn in the fire in the midst of the city, when the days of the siege are fulfilled; and you shall take a third part, and strike with the sword around it; and a third part you shall scatter to the wind, and I will draw out a sword after them. 3You shall take of it a few in number, and bind them in your skirts. 4Of these again you shall take, and cast them into the midst of the fire, and burn them in the fire; from it shall a fire come out into all the house of Israel. 5Thus says the Lord Yahweh: This is Jerusalem; I have set her in the midst of the nations, and countries are around her. 6She has rebelled against my ordinances in doing wickedness more than the nations, and against my statutes more than the countries that are around her; for they have rejected my ordinances, and as for my statutes, they have not walked in them. 7Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: Because you are turbulent more than the nations that are around you, and have not walked in my statutes, neither have kept my ordinances, neither have done after the ordinances of the nations that are around you; 8therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: Behold, I, even I, am against you; and I will execute judgments in your midst in the sight of the nations. 9I will do in you that which I have not done, and which I will not do any more the like, because of all your abominations. 10Therefore the fathers shall eat the sons in your midst, and the sons shall eat their fathers; and I will execute judgments on you; and the whole remnant of you will I scatter to all the winds. 11Therefore as I live, says the Lord Yahweh, surely, because you have defiled my sanctuary with all your detestable things, and with all your abominations, therefore will I also diminish you; neither shall my eye spare, and I also will have no pity. 12A third part of you shall die with the pestilence, and with famine shall they be consumed in your midst; and a third part shall fall by the sword around you; and a third part I will scatter to all the winds, and will draw out a sword after them. 13Thus shall my anger be accomplished, and I will cause my wrath toward them to rest, and I shall be comforted; and they shall know that I, Yahweh, have spoken in my zeal, when I have accomplished my wrath on them. 14Moreover I will make you a desolation and a reproach among the nations that are around you, in the sight of all that pass by. 15So it shall be a reproach and a taunt, an instruction and an astonishment, to the nations that are around you, when I shall execute judgments on you in anger and in wrath, and in wrathful rebukes; (I, Yahweh, have spoken it;) 16when I shall send on them the evil arrows of famine, that are for destruction, which I will send to destroy you: and I will increase the famine on you, and will break your staff of bread; 17and I will send on you famine and evil animals, and they shall bereave you; and pestilence and blood shall pass through you; and I will bring the sword on you: I, Yahweh, have spoken it.

1En gij, mensenkind, neem u een scherp mes, een scheermes der barbieren zult gij u nemen, hetwelk gij zult laten gaan over uw hoofd en over uw baard; daarna zult gij u een weegschaal nemen, en die haren delen. 2Een derde deel zult gij in het midden der stad met vuur verbranden, nadat de dagen der belegering vervuld worden; dan zult gij een derde deel nemen, slaande met een zwaard rondom hetzelve, en een derde deel zult gij in den wind strooien; want Ik zal het zwaard achter hen uittrekken. 3Gij zult ook weinige in getal daarvan nemen, en in uw slippen binden. 4En nog zult gij van die nemen, en die werpen in het midden des vuurs, en zult ze verbranden met vuur; daaruit zal voortkomen een vuur tegen het gehele huis van Israel. 5Alzo zegt de Heere HEERE: Dit is Jeruzalem, welke Ik in het midden der heidenen gezet heb, en landen rondom haar henen. 6Doch zij heeft Mijn rechten veranderd in goddeloosheid meer dan de heidenen, en Mijn inzettingen meer dan de landen, die rondom haar zijn; want zij hebben Mijn rechten verworpen, en in Mijn inzettingen hebben zij niet gewandeld. 7Daarom zegt de Heere HEERE alzo: Dewijl gijlieden dies meer gemaakt hebt dan de heidenen, die rondom u zijn, in Mijn inzettingen niet gewandeld hebt, en Mijn rechten niet gedaan hebt, zelfs naar de rechten der heidenen, die rondom u zijn, niet gedaan hebt; 8Daarom zegt de Heere HEERE alzo: Ziet, Ik wil aan u, ja Ik, want Ik zal gerichten in het midden van u oefenen, voor de ogen van die heidenen. 9En Ik zal onder u doen, hetgeen Ik niet gedaan heb, en desgelijks Ik voortaan niet doen zal, om al uwer gruwelen wil. 10Daarom zullen de vaders de kinderen eten in het midden van u, en de kinderen zullen hun vaderen eten; en Ik zal gerichten onder u oefenen, en zal al uw overblijfsel in alle winden verstrooien. 11Daarom zo waarachtig als Ik leef, spreekt de Heere HEERE (omdat gij Mijn heiligdom verontreinigd hebt met al uw verfoeiselen, en met al uw gruwelen), zo Ik ook niet daarom u verminderen, en Mijn oog u niet verschonen zal, en Ik ook niet zal sparen! 12Een derde deel van u zal van de pestilentie sterven, en zal door honger in het midden van u te niet worden; en een derde deel zal in het zwaard vallen rondom u; en een derde deel zal Ik in alle winden verstrooien, en Ik zal het zwaard achter hen uittrekken. 13Alzo zal Mijn toorn volbracht worden, en Ik zal Mijn grimmigheid op hen doen rusten, en Mij troosten; en zij zullen weten, dat Ik, de HEERE, in Mijn ijver gesproken heb, als Ik Mijn grimmigheid tegen hen volbracht zal hebben. 14Daartoe zal Ik u ter woestheid en ter smaadheid zetten onder de heidenen, die rondom u zijn, voor de ogen van al degene, die voorbijgaat. 15Zo zal de smaadheid en hoon een onderwijs en ontzetting den heidenen zijn, die rondom u zijn, wanneer Ik over u gerichten in toorn, en in grimmigheid, en in grimmige straffen oefenen zal; Ik, de HEERE, heb het gesproken! 16Wanneer Ik de boze pijlen des hongers tegen hen uitzenden zal, die ten verderve zijn zullen, die Ik uitzenden zal om u te verderven; zo zal Ik den honger over u vermeerderen, en u den staf des broods breken. 17Ja, honger en boos gedierte, die u van kinderen beroven zullen, zal Ik over u zenden; ook zal pestilentie en bloed onder u omgaan; en het zwaard zal Ik over u brengen; Ik, de HEERE, heb het gesproken!
