1E tu, figliuol d’uomo, profetizza contro Gog, e di’: Così parla il Signore, l’Eterno: Eccomi da te, o Gog, principe sovrano di Mescec e di Tubal! 2Io ti menerò via, ti spingerò innanzi, ti farò salire dalle estremità del settentrione e ti condurrò sui monti d’Israele; 3butterò giù l’arco dalla tua mano sinistra, e ti farò cadere le frecce dalla destra. 4Tu cadrai sui monti d’Israele, tu con tutte le tue schiere e coi popoli che saranno teco; ti darò in pasto agli uccelli rapaci, agli uccelli d’ogni specie, e alle bestie de’ campi. 5Tu cadrai sulla faccia de’ campi, poiché io ho parlato, dice il Signore, l’Eterno. 6E manderò il fuoco su Magog e su quelli che abitano sicuri nelle isole; e conosceranno che io sono l’Eterno. 7E farò conoscere il mio nome santo in mezzo al mio popolo d’Israele, e non lascerò più profanare il mio nome santo; e le nazioni conosceranno che io sono l’Eterno, il Santo in Israele. 8Ecco, la cosa sta per avvenire, si effettuerà, dice il Signore, l’Eterno; questo è il giorno di cui io ho parlato. 9E gli abitanti delle città d’Israele usciranno e faranno de’ fuochi, bruciando armi, scudi, targhe, archi, frecce, picche e lance; e ne faranno del fuoco per sette anni; 10non porteranno legna dai campi, e non ne taglieranno nelle foreste; giacché faran del fuoco con quelle armi; e spoglieranno quelli che li spogliavano, e prederanno quelli che li predavano, dice il Signore, l’Eterno. 11In quel giorno, io darò a Gog un luogo che gli servirà di sepoltura in Israele, la Valle de’ viandanti, a oriente del mare; e quel sepolcro chiuderà la via ai viandanti; quivi sarà sepolto Gog con tutta la sua moltitudine; e quel luogo sarà chiamato la Valle d’Hamon-Gog. 12La casa d’Israele li sotterrerà per purificare il paese; e ciò durerà sette mesi. 13Tutto il popolo del paese li sotterrerà; e per questo ei salirà in fama il giorno in cui mi glorificherò, dice il Signore, l’Eterno. 14E metteranno da parte degli uomini i quali percorreranno del continuo il paese a sotterrare, con l’aiuto de’ viandanti, i corpi che saran rimasti sul suolo del paese, per purificarlo; alla fine dei sette mesi faranno questa ricerca. 15E quando i viandanti passeranno per il paese, chiunque di loro vedrà delle ossa umane, rizzerà lì vicino un segnale, finché i seppellitori non li abbiano sotterrate nella Valle di Hamon-Gog. 16E Hamonah sarà pure il nome di una città. E così purificheranno il paese. 17E tu, figliuol d’uomo, così parla il Signore, l’Eterno: Di’ agli uccelli d’ogni specie e a tutte le bestie dei campi: Riunitevi, e venite! Raccoglietevi da tutte le parti attorno al banchetto del sacrificio che sto per immolare per voi, del gran sacrificio sui monti d’Israele! Voi mangerete carne e berrete sangue. 18Mangerete carne di prodi e berrete sangue di principi della terra: montoni, agnelli, capri, giovenchi, tutti quanti ingrassati in Basan. 19Mangerete del grasso a sazietà, e berrete del sangue fino a inebriarvi, al banchetto del sacrificio che io immolerò per voi; 20e alla mia mensa sarete saziati di carne di cavalli e di bestie da tiro, di prodi e di guerrieri d’ogni sorta, dice il Signore, l’Eterno. 21E io manifesterò la mia gloria fra le nazioni, e tutte le nazioni vedranno il giudizio che io eseguirò, e la mia mano che metterò su loro. 22E da quel giorno in poi la casa d’Israele conoscerà che io sono l’Eterno, il suo Dio; 23e le nazioni conosceranno che la casa d’Israele è stata menata in cattività a motivo della sua iniquità, perché m’era stata infedele; ond’io ho nascosto a loro la mia faccia, e li ho dati in mano de’ loro nemici; e tutti quanti son caduti per la spada. 24Io li ho trattati secondo la loro impurità e secondo le loro trasgressioni, e ho nascosto loro la mia faccia. 25Perciò, così parla il Signore, l’Eterno: Ora io farò tornare Giacobbe dalla cattività, e avrò pietà di tutta la casa d’Israele, e sarò geloso del mio santo nome. 26Ed essi avran finito di portare il loro obbrobrio e la pena di tutte le infedeltà che hanno commesse contro di me, quando dimoreranno al sicuro nel loro paese, e non vi sarà più alcun che li spaventi; 27quando li ricondurrò di fra i popoli e li raccoglierò dai paesi de’ loro nemici, e mi santificherò in loro in presenza di molte nazioni; 28ed essi conosceranno che io sono l’Eterno, il loro Dio, quando, dopo averli fatti andare in cattività fra le nazioni, li avrò raccolti nel loro paese; e non lascerò più là più alcuno d’essi; 29e non nasconderò più loro la mia faccia, perché avrò sparso il mio spirito sulla casa d’Israele, dice il Signore, l’Eterno".
1You, son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Behold, I am against you, Gog, prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal: 2and I will turn you around, and will lead you on, and will cause you to come up from the uttermost parts of the north; and I will bring you on the mountains of Israel; 3and I will strike your bow out of your left hand, and will cause your arrows to fall out of your right hand. 4You shall fall on the mountains of Israel, you, and all your hordes, and the peoples who are with you: I will give you to the ravenous birds of every sort, and to the animals of the field to be devoured. 5You shall fall on the open field; for I have spoken it, says the Lord Yahweh. 6I will send a fire on Magog, and on those who dwell securely in the islands; and they shall know that I am Yahweh. 7My holy name will I make known in the midst of my people Israel; neither will I allow my holy name to be profaned any more: and the nations shall know that I am Yahweh, the Holy One in Israel. 8Behold, it comes, and it shall be done, says the Lord Yahweh; this is the day about which I have spoken. 9Those who dwell in the cities of Israel shall go out, and shall make fires of the weapons and burn them, both the shields and the bucklers, the bows and the arrows, and the war clubs, and the spears, and they shall make fires of them seven years; 10so that they shall take no wood out of the field, neither cut down any out of the forests; for they shall make fires of the weapons; and they shall plunder those who plundered them, and rob those who robbed them, says the Lord Yahweh. 11It shall happen in that day, that I will give to Gog a place for burial in Israel, the valley of those who pass through on the east of the sea; and it shall stop those who pass through: and there shall they bury Gog and all his multitude; and they shall call it The valley of Hamon Gog. 12Seven months shall the house of Israel be burying them, that they may cleanse the land. 13Yes, all the people of the land shall bury them; and it shall be to them a renown in the day that I shall be glorified, says the Lord Yahweh. 14They shall set apart men of continual employment, who shall pass through the land, and, with those who pass through, those who bury those who remain on the surface of the land, to cleanse it: after the end of seven months shall they search. 15Those who pass through the land shall pass through; and when any sees a man’s bone, then shall he set up a sign by it, until the undertakers have buried it in the valley of Hamon Gog. 16Hamonah shall also be the name of a city. Thus shall they cleanse the land. 17You, son of man, thus says the Lord Yahweh: Speak to the birds of every sort, and to every animal of the field, Assemble yourselves, and come; gather yourselves on every side to my sacrifice that I do sacrifice for you, even a great sacrifice on the mountains of Israel, that you may eat flesh and drink blood. 18You shall eat the flesh of the mighty, and drink the blood of the princes of the earth, of rams, of lambs, and of goats, of bulls, all of them fatlings of Bashan. 19You shall eat fat until you be full, and drink blood until you are drunk, of my sacrifice which I have sacrificed for you. 20You shall be filled at my table with horses and chariots, with mighty men, and with all men of war, says the Lord Yahweh. 21I will set my glory among the nations; and all the nations shall see my judgment that I have executed, and my hand that I have laid on them. 22So the house of Israel shall know that I am Yahweh their God, from that day and forward. 23The nations shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity; because they trespassed against me, and I hid my face from them: so I gave them into the hand of their adversaries, and they fell all of them by the sword. 24According to their uncleanness and according to their transgressions did I to them; and I hid my face from them. 25Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: Now will I bring back the captivity of Jacob, and have mercy on the whole house of Israel; and I will be jealous for my holy name. 26They shall bear their shame, and all their trespasses by which they have trespassed against me, when they shall dwell securely in their land, and no one shall make them afraid; 27when I have brought them back from the peoples, and gathered them out of their enemies’ lands, and am sanctified in them in the sight of many nations. 28They shall know that I am Yahweh their God, in that I caused them to go into captivity among the nations, and have gathered them to their own land; and I will leave none of them any more there; 29neither will I hide my face any more from them; for I have poured out my Spirit on the house of Israel, says the Lord Yahweh.
1Voorts, gij mensenkind! profeteer tegen Gog, en zeg: Zo zegt de Heere HEERE: Zie, Ik wil aan u, o Gog, hoofdvorst van Mesech en Tubal! 2En Ik zal u omwenden, en een zeshaak in u slaan, en u optrekken uit de zijden van het noorden, en Ik zal u brengen op de bergen Israels. 3Maar Ik zal uw boog uit uw linkerhand slaan, en Ik zal uw pijlen uit uw rechterhand doen vallen. 4Op de bergen Israels zult gij vallen, gij en al uw benden, en de volken, die met u zijn; Ik heb u aan de roofvogelen, aan het gevogelte van allen vleugel, en aan het gedierte des velds ter spijze gegeven. 5Op het open veld zult gij vallen; want Ik heb het gesproken, spreekt de Heere HEERE. 6En Ik zal een vuur zenden in Magog, en onder degenen, die in de eilanden zeker wonen; en zij zullen weten, dat Ik de HEERE ben. 7En Ik zal Mijn heiligen Naam in het midden van Mijn volk Israel bekend maken, en zal Mijn heiligen Naam niet meer laten ontheiligen; en de heidenen zullen weten, dat Ik de HEERE ben, de Heilige in Israel. 8Ziet, het komt en zal geschieden, spreekt de Heere HEERE; dit is de dag, van welken Ik gesproken heb. 9En de inwoners der steden Israels zullen uitgaan, en vuur stoken en branden van de wapenen, zo van schilden als rondassen, van bogen en van pijlen, zo van handstokken als van spiesen; en zij zullen daarvan vuur stoken zeven jaren; 10Zodat zij geen hout uit het veld zullen dragen, noch uit de wouden houwen, maar van de wapenen vuur stoken; en zij zullen beroven degenen, die hen beroofd hadden, en plunderen, die hen geplunderd hadden, spreekt de Heere HEERE. 11En het zal te dien dage geschieden, dat Ik aan Gog aldaar een grafstede in Israel zal geven, het dal der doorgangers naar het oosten der zee; en datzelve zal den doorgangers den neus stoppen; en aldaar zullen zij begraven Gog en zijn ganse menigte, en zullen het noemen: Het dal van Gogs menigte. 12Het huis Israels nu zal hen begraven, om het land te reinigen, zeven maanden lang. 13Ja, al het volk des lands zal begraven, en het zal hun tot een naam zijn, ten dage als Ik zal verheerlijkt zijn, spreekt de Heere HEERE. 14Ook zullen zij mannen uitscheiden, die gestadig door het land doorgaan, en doodgravers met de doorgangers, om te begraven degenen, die op den aardbodem zijn overgelaten, om dien te reinigen; ten einde van zeven maanden zullen zij onderzoek doen. 15En deze doorgangers zullen door het land doorgaan, en als iemand een mensenbeen ziet, zo zal hij een merkteken daarbij oprichten; totdat de doodgravers hetzelve zullen hebben begraven in het dal van Gogs menigte. 16Ook zo zal de naam der stad Hamona zijn. Alzo zullen zij het land reinigen. 17Gij dan, mensenkind! zo zegt de Heere HEERE: Zeg tot het gevogelte van allen vleugel, en tot al het gedierte des velds: Vergadert u, en komt aan, verzamelt u van rondom, tot Mijn slachtoffer, dat Ik voor u geslacht heb, een groot slachtoffer, op de bergen Israels, en eet vlees, en drink bloed. 18Het vlees der helden zult gij eten, en het bloed van de vorsten der aarde drinken; der rammen, der lammeren, en bokken, en varren, die altemaal gemesten van Basan zijn. 19En gij zult het vette eten tot verzadiging toe, en bloed drinken tot dronkenschap toe; van Mijn slachtoffer, dat Ik voor u geslacht heb. 20En gij zult verzadigd worden aan Mijn tafel van rij paarden en wagen paarden, van helden en alle krijgslieden, spreekt de Heere HEERE. 21En Ik zal Mijn eer zetten onder de heidenen; en alle heidenen zullen Mijn oordeel zien, dat Ik gedaan heb, en Mijn hand, die Ik aan hen gelegd heb. 22En die van het huis Israels zullen weten, dat Ik, de HEERE, hunlieder God ben, van dien dag af en voortaan. 23En de heidenen zullen weten, dat die van het huis Israels gevankelijk zijn weggevoerd om hun ongerechtigheid, omdat zij tegen Mij hadden overtreden, en dat Ik Mijn aangezicht voor hen verborgen heb, en heb ze overgegeven in de hand hunner wederpartijders, zodat zij altemaal door het zwaard gevallen zijn; 24Naar hun onreinigheid en naar hun overtredingen heb Ik met hen gehandeld, en Ik heb Mijn aangezicht voor hen verborgen. 25Daarom zo zegt de Heere HEERE: Nu zal Ik Jakobs gevangenen wederbrengen, en zal Mij ontfermen over het ganse huis Israels, en Ik zal ijveren over Mijn heiligen Naam; 26Als zij hun schande zullen gedragen hebben, en al hun overtreding, met dewelke zij tegen Mij hebben overtreden, toen zij in hun land zeker woonden, en er niemand was, die hen verschrikte. 27Als Ik hen zal hebben wedergebracht uit de volken, en hen vergaderd zal hebben uit de landen hunner vijanden, en Ik aan hen geheiligd zal zijn voor de ogen van vele heidenen; 28Dan zullen zij weten, dat Ik, de HEERE, hunlieder God ben, dewijl Ik ze gevankelijk heb doen wegvoeren onder de heidenen, maar heb ze weder verzameld in hun land, en heb aldaar niemand van hen meer overgelaten. 29En Ik zal Mijn aangezicht voor hen niet meer verbergen, wanneer Ik Mijn Geest over het huis Israels zal hebben uitgegoten, spreekt de Heere HEERE.
