1E la parola dell’Eterno mi fu rivolta in questi termini: 2"Ora, figliuol d’uomo, non giudicherai tu, non giudicherai tu questa città di sangue? Falle dunque conoscere tutte le sue abominazioni! e di’: 3Così parla il Signore, l’Eterno: O città, che spandi il sangue in mezzo a te perché il tuo tempo giunga, e che ti fai degl’idoli per contaminarti! 4Per il sangue che hai sparso ti sei resa colpevole, e per gl’idoli che hai fatto ti sei contaminata; tu hai fatto avvicinare i tuoi giorni, e sei giunta al termine de’ tuoi anni, perciò io ti espongo al vituperio delle nazioni e allo scherno di tutti i paesi. 5Quelli che ti son vicini e quelli che son lontani da te si faran beffe di te, o tu contaminata di fama, e piena di disordine! 6Ecco, i principi d’Israele, ognuno secondo il suo potere, sono occupati in te a spandere il sangue; 7in te si sprezza padre e madre; in mezzo a te si opprime lo straniero; in te si calpesta l’orfano e la vedova. 8Tu disprezzi le mie cose sante, tu profani i miei sabati. 9In te c’è della gente che calunnia per spandere il sangue, in te si mangia sui monti, in mezzo a te si commettono scelleratezze. 10E in te si scoprono le vergogne del padre, in te si violenta la donna durante la sua impurità; 11in te l’uno commette abominazione con la moglie del suo prossimo, l’altro contamina d’incesto la sua nuora, l’altro violenta la sua sorella, figliuola di suo padre. 12In te si ricevono regali per spandere del sangue; tu prendi interesse, dài ad usura, trai guadagno dal prossimo con la violenza, e dimentichi me, dice il Signore, l’Eterno. 13Ma ecco, io batto le mani, a motivo del disonesto guadagno che fai, e del sangue da te sparso, ch’è in mezzo di te. 14Il tuo cuore reggerà egli, o le tue mani saranno esse forti il giorno che io agirò contro di te? Io, l’Eterno, son quegli che ho parlato, e lo farò. 15Io ti disperderò fra le nazioni, ti spargerò per i paesi, e torrò via da te tutta la tua immondezza; 16e tu sarai profanata da te stessa agli occhi delle nazioni, e conoscerai che io sono l’Eterno". 17E la parola dell’Eterno mi fu rivolta in questi termini: 18"Figliuol d’uomo, quelli della casa d’Israele mi son diventati tante scorie: tutti quanti non son che rame, stagno, ferro, piombo, in mezzo al fornello; son tutti scorie d’argento. 19Perciò, così parla il Signore, l’Eterno: Poiché siete tutti diventati tante scorie, ecco, io vi raduno in mezzo a Gerusalemme. 20Come si raduna l’argento, il rame, il ferro, il piombo e lo stagno in mezzo al fornello e si soffia nel fuoco per fonderli, così, nella mia ira e nel mio furore io vi radunerò, vi metterò là, e vi fonderò. 21Vi radunerò, soffierò contro di voi nel fuoco del mio furore e voi sarete fusi in mezzo a Gerusalemme. 22Come l’argento è fuso in mezzo al fornello, così voi sarete fusi in mezzo alla città; e voi saprete che io, l’Eterno, sono quegli che riverso su di voi il mio furore". 23E la parola dell’Eterno mi fu rivolta in questi termini: 24"Figliuol d’uomo, dì a Gerusalemme: Tu sei una terra che non è stata purificata, che non è stata bagnata da pioggia in un giorno d’indignazione. 25V’è una cospirazione de’ suoi profeti in mezzo a lei; come un leone ruggente che sbrana una preda, costoro divorano le anime, piglian tesori e cose preziose, moltiplican le vedove in mezzo a lei. 26I suoi sacerdoti violano la mia legge, e profanano le mie cose sante; non distinguono fra santo e profano, non fan conoscere la differenza che passa fra ciò ch’è impuro e ciò ch’è puro, chiudon gli occhi sui miei sabati, e io son profanato in mezzo a loro. 27E i suoi capi, in mezzo a lei, son come lupi che sbranano la loro preda: spandono il sangue, perdono le anime per saziare la loro cupidigia. 28E i loro profeti intonacan loro tutto questo con malta che non regge: hanno delle visioni vane, pronostican loro la menzogna, e dicono: Così parla il Signore, l’Eterno mentre l’Eterno non ha parlato affatto. 29Il popolo del paese si dà alla violenza, commette rapine, calpesta l’afflitto e il povero, opprime lo straniero, contro ogni equità. 30Ed io ho cercato fra loro qualcuno che riparasse la cinta e stesse sulla breccia davanti a me in favore del paese, perché io non lo distruggessi; ma non l’ho trovato. 31Perciò, io riverserò su loro la mia indignazione; io li consumerò col fuoco della mia ira, e farò ricadere sul loro capo la loro condotta, dice il Signore, l’Eterno".
1Moreover Yahweh’s word came to me, saying, 2You, son of man, will you judge, will you judge the bloody city? then cause her to know all her abominations. 3You shall say, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: A city that sheds blood in the midst of her, that her time may come, and that makes idols against herself to defile her! 4You have become guilty in your blood that you have shed, and are defiled in your idols which you have made; and you have caused your days to draw near, and have come even to your years: therefore have I made you a reproach to the nations, and a mocking to all the countries. 5Those who are near, and those who are far from you, shall mock you, you infamous one, full of tumult. 6Behold, the princes of Israel, everyone according to his power, have been in you to shed blood. 7In you have they set light by father and mother; in your midst have they dealt by oppression with the foreigner; in you have they wronged the fatherless and the widow. 8You have despised my holy things, and have profaned my Sabbaths. 9Slanderous men have been in you to shed blood; and in you they have eaten on the mountains: in your midst they have committed lewdness. 10In you have they uncovered their fathers’ nakedness; in you have they humbled her who was unclean in her impurity. 11One has committed abomination with his neighbor’s wife; and another has lewdly defiled his daughter-in-law; and another in you has humbled his sister, his father’s daughter. 12In you have they taken bribes to shed blood; you have taken interest and increase, and you have greedily gained of your neighbors by oppression, and have forgotten me, says the Lord Yahweh. 13Behold, therefore, I have struck my hand at your dishonest gain which you have made, and at your blood which has been in your midst. 14Can your heart endure, or can your hands be strong, in the days that I shall deal with you? I, Yahweh, have spoken it, and will do it. 15I will scatter you among the nations, and disperse you through the countries; and I will consume your filthiness out of you. 16You shall be profaned in yourself, in the sight of the nations; and you shall know that I am Yahweh. 17Yahweh’s word came to me, saying, 18Son of man, the house of Israel has become dross to me: all of them are brass and tin and iron and lead, in the midst of the furnace; they are the dross of silver. 19Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: Because you have all become dross, therefore, behold, I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem. 20As they gather silver and brass and iron and lead and tin into the midst of the furnace, to blow the fire on it, to melt it; so will I gather you in my anger and in my wrath, and I will lay you there, and melt you. 21Yes, I will gather you, and blow on you with the fire of my wrath, and you shall be melted in its midst. 22As silver is melted in the midst of the furnace, so you will be melted in its midst; and you will know that I, Yahweh, have poured out my wrath on you. 23Yahweh’s word came to me, saying, 24Son of man, tell her, You are a land that is not cleansed, nor rained on in the day of indignation. 25There is a conspiracy of her prophets in its midst, like a roaring lion ravening the prey: they have devoured souls; they take treasure and precious things; they have made her widows many in its midst. 26Her priests have done violence to my law, and have profaned my holy things: they have made no distinction between the holy and the common, neither have they caused men to discern between the unclean and the clean, and have hidden their eyes from my Sabbaths, and I am profaned among them. 27Her princes in its midst are like wolves ravening the prey, to shed blood, and to destroy souls, that they may get dishonest gain. 28Her prophets have plastered for them with whitewash, seeing false visions, and divining lies to them, saying, Thus says the Lord Yahweh, when Yahweh has not spoken. 29The people of the land have used oppression, and exercised robbery; yes, they have troubled the poor and needy, and have oppressed the foreigner wrongfully. 30I sought for a man among them, who should build up the wall, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one. 31Therefore have I poured out my indignation on them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I brought on their heads, says the Lord Yahweh.
1Verder geschiedde des HEEREN woord tot mij, zeggende: 2Gij nu, mensenkind, zoudt gij der bloedstad recht geven? Zoudt gij ze recht geven? Ja, maak haar bekend al haar gruwelen. 3En zeg: Alzo zegt de Heere HEERE: O stad, die in haar midden bloed vergiet, opdat haar tijd kome, en drekgoden tegen zichzelve maakt, om zich te verontreinigen! 4Door uw bloed, dat gij vergoten hebt, zijt gij schuldig geworden, en met uw drekgoden, die gij gemaakt hebt, hebt gij u verontreinigd, en hebt uw dagen doen naderen, en zijt tot uw jaren gekomen; daarom heb Ik u den heidenen overgegeven tot een smaad, en allen landen tot een spot. 5Die nabij en verre van u zijn, zullen u bespotten, gij onreine van naam en vol van onrust! 6Ziet, de vorsten Israels zijn in u geweest, een ieder naar zijn kracht, om bloed te vergieten. 7Vader en moeder hebben zij in u licht geacht; met den vreemdeling hebben zij in het midden van u door verdrukking gehandeld; zij hebben in u den wees en de weduwe verdrukt. 8Mijn heilige dingen hebt gij veracht, en Mijn sabbatten hebt gij ontheiligd. 9Achterklappers zijn in u geweest om bloed te vergieten, en in u hebben zij op de bergen gegeten, zij hebben schandelijkheid in het midden van u gedaan. 10Men heeft de schaamte des vaders in u ontdekt; die onrein was door afzondering, hebben zij in u verkracht. 11Daartoe heeft de een gruwel gedaan met zijns naasten huisvrouw, en een ander heeft zijns zoons vrouw met schandelijkheid verontreinigd; nog een ander heeft in u zijn zuster, zijns vaders dochter; verkracht. 12Zij hebben geschenken in u genomen, om bloed te vergieten; woeker en overwinst hebt gij genomen, en gij hebt gierigheid gepleegd aan uw naaste door verdrukking; maar gij hebt Mijner vergeten, spreekt de Heere HEERE. 13Ziet dan, Ik heb Mijn hand geslagen, om uw gierigheid, die gij bedreven hebt, en om uw bloed, die in het midden van u geweest zijn. 14Zal uw hart bestaan? zullen uw handen sterk zijn, in de dagen, als Ik met u handelen zal? Ik, de HEERE, heb het gesproken, en zal het doen. 15En Ik zal u verstrooien onder de heidenen, en u verspreiden in de landen, en uw ontreinigheid uit u verteren. 16Zo zult gij in u ontheiligd zijn voor de ogen der heidenen; en gij zult weten, dat Ik de HEERE ben. 17Wijders geschiedde des HEEREN woord tot mij, zeggende: 18Mensenkind, die van het huis Israels zijn Mij tot schuim geworden; zij zijn allen koper, of tin, of ijzer, of lood, in het midden des ovens; zilverschuim zijn zij geworden. 19Daarom, alzo zegt de Heere HEERE: Omdat gijlieden allen tot schuim geworden zijt, daarom ziet, Ik zal u in het midden van Jeruzalem vergaderen. 20Gelijk zilver, of koper, of ijzer, of lood, of tin in het midden eens ovens vergaderd wordt, om het vuur daarover op te blazen, opdat men het smelte; alzo zal Ik ulieden vergaderen in Mijn toorn, en in Mijn grimmigheid daar laten, en smelten. 21Ja, Ik zal u bijeenbrengen, en zal op u blazen in het vuur Mijner verbolgenheid, dat gij in het midden van haar zult gesmolten worden. 22Gelijk het zilver in het midden des ovens gesmolten wordt, alzo zult gijlieden in het midden van haar gesmolten worden; en gij zult weten, dat Ik, de HEERE, Mijn grimmigheid over u uitgegoten heb. 23Voorts geschiedde des HEEREN woord tot mij, zeggende: 24Mensenkind, zeg tot haar; Gij zijt een land, dat niet gereinigd is, dat zijn plasregen niet heeft gehad ten dage der gramschap. 25De verbintenis harer profeten is in het midden van haar als een brullende leeuw, die een roof rooft; zij eten de zielen op, den schat en het kostelijke nemen zij weg; haar weduwen vermenigvuldigen zij in het midden van haar. 26Haar priesters doen Mijn wet geweld aan, en zij ontheiligen Mijn heilige dingen; tussen het heilige en het onheilige maken zij geen onderscheid, en het verschil tussen het onreine en reine geven zij niet te kennen; daartoe verbergen zij hun ogen van Mijn sabbatten; ja, Ik word in het midden van hen ontheiligd. 27Haar vorsten zijn in het midden van haar als wolven, die een roof roven, om bloed te vergieten, en om zielen te verderven; opdat zij gierigheid zouden plegen. 28Haar profeten nu pleisteren hen met loze kalk; ziende ijdelheid en hun leugen voorzeggende, zeggende: Alzo zegt de Heere HEERE! en de HEERE heeft niet gesproken. 29Het volk des lands pleegt enkel verdrukking, en bedrijft enkel roverij, ook onderdrukken zij den ellendige en nooddruftige, en den vreemdeling verdrukken zij zonder recht. 30Ik zocht nu een man uit hen, die den muur mocht toemuren, en voor Mijn aangezicht in de bresse staan voor het land, opdat Ik het niet mocht verderven; maar Ik vond niemand. 31Daarom heb Ik Mijn gramschap over hen uitgegoten; door het vuur Mijner verbolgenheid heb Ik hen verteerd; hun weg heb Ik op hun hoofd gegeven, spreekt de Heere HEERE.
