1Poi lo spirito mi levò in alto, e mi menò alla porta orientale della casa dell’Eterno che guarda verso levante; ed ecco, all’ingresso della porta, venticinque uomini; e in mezzo ad essi vidi Jaazania, figliuolo d’Azzur, e Pelatia, figliuolo di Benaia, capi del popolo. 2E l’Eterno mi disse: "Figliuol d’uomo, questi sono gli uomini che meditano l’iniquità, e dànno cattivi consigli in questa città. 3Essi dicono: Il tempo non è così vicino! Edifichiamo pur case! Questa città è la pentola e noi siamo la carne. 4Perciò profetizza contro di loro, profetizza, figliuol d’uomo!" 5E lo spirito dell’Eterno cadde su di me, e mi disse: "Di’: Così parla l’Eterno: Voi parlate a quel modo, o casa d’Israele, e io conosco le cose che vi passan per la mente. 6Voi avete moltiplicato i vostri omicidi in questa città, e ne avete riempite d’uccisi le strade. 7Perciò così parla il Signore, l’Eterno: I vostri morti che avete stesi in mezzo a questa città sono la carne, e la città è la pentola; ma voi ne sarete tratti fuori. 8Voi avete paura della spada, e io farò venire su di voi la spada, dice il Signore, l’Eterno. 9Io vi trarrò fuori dalla città, e vi darò in man di stranieri; ed eseguirò su di voi i miei giudizi. 10Voi cadrete per la spada, io vi giudicherò sulle frontiere d’Israele, e voi conoscerete che io sono l’Eterno. 11Questa città non sarà per voi una pentola, e voi non sarete in mezzo a lei la carne; io vi giudicherò sulle frontiere d’Israele; 12e voi conoscerete che io sono l’Eterno, del quale non avete seguito le prescrizioni né messe in pratica le leggi, ma avete agito secondo le leggi delle nazioni che vi circondano". 13Or avvenne che, come io profetavo a Pelatia, figliuolo di Benaia, morì; e io mi gettai con la faccia a terra, e gridai ad alta voce: "Ahimè, Signore, Eterno, farai tu una completa distruzione di quel che rimane d’Israele?" 14E la parola dell’Eterno mi fu rivolta in questi termini: 15"Figliuol d’uomo, i tuoi fratelli, i tuoi fratelli, gli uomini del tuo parentado e tutta quanta la casa d’Israele son quelli ai quali gli abitanti di Gerusalemme hanno detto: Statevene lontani dall’Eterno! a noi è dato il possesso del paese. 16Perciò di’: Così parla il Signore, l’Eterno: Benché io li abbia allontanati fra le nazioni e li abbia dispersi per i paesi, io sarò per loro, per qualche tempo, un santuario nei paesi dove sono andati. 17Perciò di’: Così parla il Signore, l’Eterno: Io vi raccoglierò di fra i popoli, vi radunerò dai paesi dove siete stati dispersi, e vi darò il suolo d’Israele. 18E quelli vi verranno, e ne torranno via tutte le cose esecrande e tutte le abominazioni. 19E io darò loro un medesimo cuore, metterò dentro di loro un nuovo spirito, torrò via dalla loro carne il cuore di pietra, e darò loro un cuor di carne, 20perché camminino secondo le mie prescrizioni, e osservino le mie leggi e le mettano in pratica; ed essi saranno il mio popolo, e io sarò il loro Dio. 21Ma quanto a quelli il cui cuore segue l’affetto che hanno alle loro cose esecrande e alle loro abominazioni, io farò ricadere sul loro capo la loro condotta, dice il Signore, l’Eterno". 22Poi i cherubini spiegarono le loro ali, e le ruote si mossero allato a loro; e la gloria dell’Iddio d’Israele stava su loro, in alto. 23E la gloria dell’Eterno s’innalzò di su mezzo alla città, e si fermò sul monte ch’è ad oriente della città. 24E lo spirito mi trasse in alto, e mi menò in Caldea presso quelli ch’erano in cattività, in visione, mediante lo spirito di Dio; e la visione che avevo avuta scomparve d’innanzi a me; 25e io riferii a quelli ch’erano in cattività tutte le parole che l’Eterno m’aveva dette in visione.
1Moreover the Spirit lifted me up, and brought me to the east gate of Yahweh’s house, which looks eastward: and see, at the door of the gate twenty-five men; and I saw in their midst Jaazaniah the son of Azzur, and Pelatiah the son of Benaiah, princes of the people. 2He said to me, Son of man, these are the men who devise iniquity, and who give wicked counsel in this city; 3who say, The time is not near to build houses: this is the cauldron, and we are the meat. 4Therefore prophesy against them, prophesy, son of man. 5The Spirit of Yahweh fell on me, and he said to me, Speak, Thus says Yahweh: Thus you have said, house of Israel; for I know the things that come into your mind. 6You have multiplied your slain in this city, and you have filled its streets with the slain. 7Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: Your slain whom you have laid in its midst, they are the meat, and this is the cauldron; but you shall be brought out of its midst. 8You have feared the sword; and I will bring the sword on you, says the Lord Yahweh. 9I will bring you out of its midst, and deliver you into the hands of strangers, and will execute judgments among you. 10You shall fall by the sword; I will judge you in the border of Israel; and you shall know that I am Yahweh. 11This shall not be your cauldron, neither shall you be the meat in its midst; I will judge you in the border of Israel; 12and you shall know that I am Yahweh: for you have not walked in my statutes, neither have you executed my ordinances, but have done after the ordinances of the nations that are around you. 13When I prophesied, Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. Then fell I down on my face, and cried with a loud voice, and said, “Ah Lord Yahweh! will you make a full end of the remnant of Israel?” 14Yahweh’s word came to me, saying, 15“Son of man, your brothers, even your brothers, the men of your relatives, and all the house of Israel, all of them, to whom the inhabitants of Jerusalem have said, ‘Go far away from Yahweh. This land has been given to us for a possession.’” 16Therefore say, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Whereas I have removed them far off among the nations, and whereas I have scattered them among the countries, yet will I be to them a sanctuary for a little while in the countries where they have come. 17Therefore say, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: I will gather you from the peoples, and assemble you out of the countries where you have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel. 18They shall come there, and they shall take away all the detestable things of it and all its abominations from there. 19I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them a heart of flesh; 20that they may walk in my statutes, and keep my ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God. 21But as for them whose heart walks after the heart of their detestable things and their abominations, I will bring their way on their own heads, says the Lord Yahweh. 22Then the cherubim lifted up their wings, and the wheels were beside them; and the glory of the God of Israel was over them above. 23Yahweh’s glory went up from the midst of the city, and stood on the mountain which is on the east side of the city. 24The Spirit lifted me up, and brought me in the vision by the Spirit of God into Chaldea, to them of the captivity. So the vision that I had seen went up from me. 25Then I spoke to them of the captivity all the things that Yahweh had shown me.
1Toen hief mij de Geest op, en bracht mij tot de Oostpoort van het huis des HEEREN, dewelke ziet oostwaarts; en ziet, aan de deur der poort waren vijf en twintig mannen, en in het midden van hen zag ik Jaazanja, den zoon van Azzur, en Pelatja, den zoon van Benaja, vorsten des volks. 2En Hij zeide tot mij: Mensenkind, deze zijn de mannen, die ongerechtigheid bedenken, en die kwaden raad raden in deze stad. 3Die zeggen: Men moet geen huizen nabij bouwen; deze stad zou de pot, en wij het vlees zijn. 4Daarom profeteer tegen hen; profeteer, o mensenkind! 5Zo viel dan de Geest des HEEREN op mij, en Hij zeide tot mij: Zeg: Zo zegt de HEERE: Alzo zegt gijlieden o huis Israels! want Ik weet elkeen der dingen, die in uw geest opklimmen. 6Gij hebt uw verslagenen in deze stad vermenigvuldigd, en gij hebt derzelver straten met de verslagenen vervuld. 7Daarom, zo zegt de Heere HEERE: Uw verslagenen, die gij in het midden derzelve nedergelegd hebt, die zijn dat vlees, en deze stad is de pot; maar ulieden zal Ik uit het midden derzelve doen uitgaan. 8Gijlieden hebt het zwaard gevreesd; en het zwaard zal Ik over u brengen, spreekt de Heere HEERE. 9Ook zal Ik ulieden uit het midden derzelve doen uitgaan, en Ik zal u overgeven in de hand der vreemden; en Ik zal recht onder u doen. 10Gij zult door het zwaard vallen; in de landpale Israels zal Ik u richten, en gij zult weten, dat Ik de HEERE ben. 11Deze stad zal ulieden niet tot een pot zijn, en gij zult in het midden derzelve niet tot vlees zijn; in de landpale Israels zal Ik u richten. 12En gij zult weten, dat Ik de HEERE ben, omdat gij in Mijn inzettingen niet gewandeld, en Mijn rechten niet gedaan hebt, maar naar de rechten der heidenen, die rondom u zijn, gedaan hebt. 13Het geschiedde nu, als ik profeteerde, dat Pelatja, de zoon van Benaja, stierf. Toen viel ik neder op mijn aangezicht, en riep met luider stem; en zeide: Ach, Heere HEERE! zult Gij gans een voleinding maken met het overblijfsel van Israel? 14Toen geschiedde het woord des HEEREN tot mij, zeggende: 15Mensenkind, het zijn uw broederen, uw broederen, de mannen uwer maagschap, en het ganse huis Israels, ja, dat ganse, tot welke de inwoners van Jeruzalem gezegd hebben: Maakt u verre af van den HEERE, ditzelve land is ons tot een erfbezitting gegeven. 16Daarom zeg: Zo zegt de Heere HEERE: Hoewel Ik hen verre onder de heidenen weggedaan heb, en hoewel Ik hen in de landen verstrooid heb, nochtans zal Ik hun een weinig tijds tot een heiligdom zijn, in de landen, waarin zij gekomen zijn. 17Daarom zeg: Alzo zegt de Heere HEERE: Ja, Ik zal ulieden vergaderen uit de volken, en Ik zal u verzamelen uit de landen, waarin gij verstrooid zijt, en Ik zal u het land Israels geven. 18En zij zullen daarhenen komen, en al deszelfs verfoeiselen en al deszelfs gruwelen van daar wegdoen. 19En Ik zal hun enerlei hart geven, en zal een nieuwen geest in het binnenste van u geven; en Ik zal het stenen hart uit hun vlees wegnemen, en zal hun een vlesen hart geven; 20Opdat zij wandelen in Mijn inzettingen, en Mijn rechten bewaren, en dezelve doen; en zij zullen Mij tot een volk zijn, en Ik zal hun tot een God zijn. 21Maar welker hart het hart hunner verfoeiselen en hunner gruwelen nawandelt, derzelver weg zal Ik op hun hoofd geven, spreekt de Heere HEERE. 22Toen hieven de cherubs hun vleugelen op, en de raderen tegenover hen; en de heerlijkheid des Gods van Israel was over hen van boven. 23En de heerlijkheid des HEEREN rees op van het midden der stad, en stond op den berg, die tegen het oosten der stad is. 24Daarna nam mij de Geest op, en bracht mij in gezicht door den Geest Gods in Chaldea tot de gevankelijk weggevoerden; en het gezicht, dat ik gezien had, voer van mij op. 25En ik sprak tot de gevankelijk weggevoerden al de woorden des HEEREN, die Hij mij had doen zien.
