1La parola dell’Eterno mi fu ancora rivolta in questi termini: 2"Figliuol d’uomo, fa’ conoscere a Gerusalemme le sue abominazioni, 3e di’: Così parla il Signore, l’Eterno, a Gerusalemme: Per la tua origine e per la tua nascita sei del paese del Cananeo; tuo padre era un Amoreo, tua madre una Hittea. 4Quanto alla tua nascita, il giorno che nascesti l’ombelico non ti fu tagliato, non fosti lavata con acqua per nettarti, non fosti sfregata con sale, né fosti fasciata. 5Nessuno ebbe sguardi di pietà per te; per farti una sola di queste cose, avendo compassione di te, ma fosti gettata nell’aperta campagna il giorno che nascesti, pel disprezzo che si aveva di te. 6E io ti passai accanto, vidi che ti dibattevi nel sangue, e ti dissi: Vivi, tu che sei nel sangue! E ti ripetei: Vivi, tu che sei nel sangue! 7Io ti farò moltiplicare per miriadi, come il germe dei campi. E tu ti sviluppasti, crescesti, giungesti al colmo della bellezza, il tuo seno si formò, la tua capigliatura crebbe abbondante, ma tu eri nuda e scoperta. 8Io ti passai accanto, ti guardai, ed ecco il tuo tempo era giunto: il tempo degli amori; io stesi su di te il lembo della mia veste e copersi la tua nudità; ti feci un giuramento, fermai un patto con te, dice il Signore, l’Eterno, e tu fosti mia. 9Ti lavai con acqua, ti ripulii del sangue che avevi addosso, e ti unsi con olio. 10Ti misi delle vesti ricamate, de’ calzari di pelle di tasso, ti cinsi il capo di lino fino, ti ricopersi di seta. 11Ti fornii d’ornamenti, ti misi dei braccialetti ai polsi, e una collana al collo. 12Ti misi un anello al naso, dei pendenti agli orecchi, e una magnifica corona in capo. 13Così fosti adorna d’oro e d’argento, e fosti vestita di lino fino, di seta e di ricami; e tu mangiasti fior di farina, miele e olio; diventasti sommamente bella, e giungesti fino a regnare. 14E la tua fama si sparse fra le nazioni, per la tua bellezza; poich’essa era perfetta, avendoti io coperta della mia magnificenza, dice il Signore, l’Eterno. 15Ma tu confidasti nella tua bellezza, e ti prostituisti in grazie della tua fama, e prodigasti le tue prostituzioni ad ogni passante, a chi voleva. 16Tu prendesti delle tue vesti, ti facesti degli alti luoghi parati di vari colori, e quivi ti prostituisti: cose tali, che non ne avvennero mai, e non ne avverranno più. 17Prendesti pure i tuoi bei gioielli fatti del mio oro e del mio argento, che io t’avevo dati, te ne facesti delle immagini d’uomo, e ad esse ti prostituisti; 18e prendeste le tue vesti ricamate e ne ricopristi quelle immagini, dinanzi alle quali tu ponesti il mio olio e il mio profumo. 19Parimenti il mio pane che t’avevo dato, il fior di farina, l’olio e il miele con cui ti nutrivo, tu li ponesti davanti a loro, come un profumo di soave odore. Questo si fece! dice il Signore, l’Eterno. 20Prendesti inoltre i tuoi figliuoli e le tue figliuole che mi avevi partoriti, e li offristi loro in sacrificio, perché li divorassero. Non bastavan esse le tue prostituzioni, 21perché tu avessi anche a scannare i miei figliuoli, e a darli loro facendoli passare per il fuoco? 22E in mezzo a tutte le tue abominazioni e alle tue prostituzioni, non ti sei ricordata de’ giorni della tua giovinezza, quand’eri nuda, scoperta, e ti dibattevi nel sangue. 23Ora dopo tutta la tua malvagità guai! guai a te! dice il Signore, l’Eterno, 24ti sei costruita un bordello, e ti sei fatto un alto luogo in ogni piazza pubblica: 25hai costruito un alto luogo a ogni capo di strada, hai reso abominevole la tua bellezza, ti sei offerta ad ogni passante, ed hai moltiplicato le tue prostituzioni. 26Ti sei pure prostituita agli Egiziani, tuoi vicini dalle membra vigorose, e hai moltiplicato le tue prostituzioni per provocarmi ad ira. 27Perciò, ecco, io ho steso la mia mano contro di te, ho diminuito la provvisione che ti avevo fissata, e t’ho abbandonata in balìa delle figliuole dei Filistei, che t’odiano e hanno vergogna della tua condotta scellerata. 28Non sazia ancora, ti sei pure prostituita agli Assiri; ti sei prostituita a loro; e neppure allora sei stata sazia; 29e hai moltiplicato le tue prostituzioni col paese di Canaan fino in Caldea, e neppure con questo sei stata sazia. 30Com’è vile il tuo cuore, dice il Signore, l’Eterno, a ridurti a fare tutte queste cose, da sfacciata prostituta! 31Quando ti costruivi il bordello a ogni capo di strada e ti facevi gli alti luoghi in ogni piazza pubblica, tu non eri come una prostituta, giacché sprezzavi il salario, 32ma come una donna adultera, che riceve gli stranieri invece del suo marito. 33A tutte le prostitute si dànno dei regali: ma tu hai fatto de’ regali a tutti i tuoi amanti, e li hai sedotti con de’ doni, perché venissero da te, da tutte le parti, per le tue prostituzioni. 34Con te, nelle tue prostituzioni, è avvenuto il contrario delle altre donne; giacché non eri tu la sollecitata; in quanto tu pagavi, invece d’esser pagata, facevi il contrario delle altre. 35Perciò, o prostituta, ascolta la parola dell’Eterno. 36Così parla il Signore, l’Eterno: Poiché il tuo denaro è stato dissipato e la tua nudità è stata scoperta nelle tue prostituzioni coi tuoi amanti, e a motivi di tutti i tuoi idoli abominevoli, e a cagione del sangue dei tuoi figliuoli che hai dato loro, 37ecco, io radunerò tutti i tuoi amanti ai quali ti sei resa gradita, e tutti quelli che hai amati insieme a quelli che hai odiati; li radunerò da tutte le parti contro di te, e scoprirò davanti a loro la tua nudità, ed essi vedranno tutta la tua nudità. 38Io ti giudicherò alla stregua delle donne che commettono adulterio e spandono il sangue, e farò che il tuo sangue sia sparso dal furore e dalla gelosia. 39E ti darò nelle loro mani, ed essi abbatteranno il tuo bordello, distruggeranno i tuoi alti luoghi, ti spoglieranno delle tue vesti, ti prenderanno i bei gioielli, e ti lasceranno nuda e scoperta; 40e faranno salire contro di te una folla, e ti lapideranno e ti trafiggeranno con le loro spade; 41daranno alle fiamme le tue case, faranno giustizia di te nel cospetto di molte donne, e io ti farò cessare dal far la prostituta, e tu non pagherai più nessuno. 42Così io sfogherò il mio furore su di te, e la mia gelosia di stornerà da te; m’acqueterò, e non sarò più adirato. 43Poiché tu non ti sei ricordata dei giorni della tua giovinezza e m’hai provocato ad ira con tutte queste cose, ecco, anch’io ti farò ricadere sul capo la tua condotta, dice il Signore, l’Eterno, e tu non aggiungerai altri delitti a tutte le tue abominazioni. 44Ecco, tutti quelli che usano proverbi faranno di te un proverbio, e diranno: Quale la madre, tale la figlia. 45Tu sei figliuola di tua madre, ch’ebbe a sdegno il suo marito e i suoi figliuoli, e sei sorella delle tue sorelle, ch’ebbero a sdegno i loro mariti e i loro figliuoli. Vostra madre era una Hittea, e vostro padre un Amoreo. 46La tua sorella maggiore, che ti sta a sinistra, è Samaria, con le sue figliuole; e la tua sorella minore, che ti sta a destra, è Sodoma, con le sue figliuole. 47E tu, non soltanto hai camminato nelle loro vie e commesso le stesse loro abominazioni; era troppo poco; ma in tutte le tue vie ti sei corrotta più di loro. 48Com’è vero ch’io vivo, dice il Signore, l’Eterno, Sodoma, la tua sorella, e le sue figliuole, non hanno fatto quel che avete fatto tu e le figliuole tue. 49Ecco, questa fu l’iniquità di Sodoma, tua sorella: lei e le sue figliuole vivevano nell’orgoglio, nell’abbondanza del pane, e nell’ozio indolente; ma non sostenevano la mano dell’afflitto e del povero. 50Erano altezzose, e commettevano abominazioni nel mio cospetto; perciò le feci sparire, quando vidi ciò. 51E Samaria non ha commesso la metà de’ tuoi peccati; tu hai moltiplicato le tue abominazioni più che l’una e l’altra, e hai giustificato le tue sorelle, con tutte le abominazioni che hai commesse. 52Anche tu porta il vituperio che hai inflitto alle tue sorelle! Coi tuoi peccati tu ti sei resa più abominevole di loro, ed esse son più giuste di te; tu pure dunque, vergognati e porta il tuo vituperio, poiché tu hai giustificato le tue sorelle! 53Io farò tornare dalla cattività quelli che là si trovano di Sodoma e delle sue figliuole, quelli di Samaria e delle sue figliuole e quelli de’ tuoi che sono in mezzo ad essi, 54affinché tu porti il tuo vituperio, che tu senta l’onta di tutto quello che hai fatto, e sii così loro di conforto. 55La tua sorella Sodoma e le sue figliuole torneranno nella loro condizione di prima, Samaria e le sue figliuole torneranno nella loro condizione di prima, e tu e le tue figliuole tornerete nella vostra condizione di prima. 56Sodoma, la tua sorella, non era neppur mentovata dalla tua bocca, ne’ giorni della tua superbia, 57prima che la tua malvagità fosse messa a nudo, come avvenne quando fosti oltraggiata dalla figliuole della Siria e da tutti i paesi circonvicini, dalle figliuole dei Filistei, che t’insultavano da tutte le parti. 58Tu porti alla tua volta il peso della tua scelleratezza e delle tue abominazioni, dice l’Eterno. 59Poiché, così parla il Signore, l’Eterno: Io farò a te come hai fatto tu, che hai sprezzato il giuramento, infrangendo il patto. 60Nondimeno io mi ricorderò del patto che fermai teco nei giorni della tua giovinezza, e stabilirò per te un patto eterno. 61E tu ti ricorderai della tua condotta, e ne avrai vergogna, quando riceverai le tue sorelle, quelle che son più grandi e quelle che son più piccole di te, e io te le darò per figliuole, ma non in virtù del tuo patto. 62E io fermerò il mio patto con te, e tu conoscerai che io sono l’Eterno, 63affinché tu ricordi, e tu arrossisca, e tu non possa più aprir bocca dalla vergogna, quand’io t’avrò perdonato tutto quello che hai fatto, dice il Signore, l’Eterno".
1Again Yahweh’s word came to me, saying, 2Son of man, cause Jerusalem to know her abominations; 3and say, Thus says the Lord Yahweh to Jerusalem: Your birth and your birth is of the land of the Canaanite; the Amorite was your father, and your mother was a Hittite. 4As for your birth, in the day you were born your navel was not cut, neither were you washed in water to cleanse you; you weren’t salted at all, nor swaddled at all. 5No eye pitied you, to do any of these things to you, to have compassion on you; but you were cast out in the open field, for that your person was abhorred, in the day that you were born. 6When I passed by you, and saw you wallowing in your blood, I said to you, Though you are in your blood, live; yes, I said to you, Though you are in your blood, live. 7I caused you to multiply as that which grows in the field, and you increased and grew great, and you attained to excellent ornament; your breasts were fashioned, and your hair was grown; yet you were naked and bare. 8Now when I passed by you, and looked at you, behold, your time was the time of love; and I spread my skirt over you, and covered your nakedness: yes, I swore to you, and entered into a covenant with you, says the Lord Yahweh, and you became mine. 9Then washed I you with water; yes, I thoroughly washed away your blood from you, and I anointed you with oil. 10I clothed you also with embroidered work, and shod you with sealskin, and I dressed you about with fine linen, and covered you with silk. 11I decked you with ornaments, and I put bracelets on your hands, and a chain on your neck. 12I put a ring on your nose, and earrings in your ears, and a beautiful crown on your head. 13Thus you were decked with gold and silver; and your clothing was of fine linen, and silk, and embroidered work; you ate fine flour, and honey, and oil; and you were exceeding beautiful, and you prospered to royal estate. 14Your renown went out among the nations for your beauty; for it was perfect, through my majesty which I had put on you, says the Lord Yahweh. 15But you trusted in your beauty, and played the prostitute because of your renown, and poured out your prostitution on everyone who passed by; his it was. 16You took of your garments, and made for yourselves high places decked with various colors, and played the prostitute on them. This shall not come, neither shall it be. 17You also took your beautiful jewels of my gold and of my silver, which I had given you, and made for yourself images of men, and played the prostitute with them; 18and you took your embroidered garments, and covered them, and set my oil and my incense before them. 19My bread also which I gave you, fine flour, and oil, and honey, with which I fed you, you even set it before them for a pleasant aroma; and so it was, says the Lord Yahweh. 20Moreover you have taken your sons and your daughters, whom you have borne to me, and you have sacrificed these to them to be devoured. Was your prostitution a small matter, 21that you have slain my children, and delivered them up, in causing them to pass through the fire to them? 22In all your abominations and your prostitution you have not remembered the days of your youth, when you were naked and bare, and were wallowing in your blood. 23It has happened after all your wickedness, (woe, woe to you! says the Lord Yahweh), 24that you have built for yourselves a vaulted place, and have made yourselves a lofty place in every street. 25You have built your lofty place at the head of every way, and have made your beauty an abomination, and have opened your feet to everyone who passed by, and multiplied your prostitution. 26You have also committed sexual immorality with the Egyptians, your neighbors, great of flesh; and have multiplied your prostitution, to provoke me to anger. 27See therefore, I have stretched out my hand over you, and have diminished your portion, and delivered you to the will of those who hate you, the daughters of the Philistines, who are ashamed of your lewd way. 28You have played the prostitute also with the Assyrians, because you were insatiable; yes, you have played the prostitute with them, and yet you weren’t satisfied. 29You have moreover multiplied your prostitution to the land of merchants, to Chaldea; and yet you weren’t satisfied with this. 30How weak is your heart, says the Lord Yahweh, since you do all these things, the work of an impudent prostitute; 31in that you build your vaulted place at the head of every way, and make your lofty place in every street, and have not been as a prostitute, in that you scorn pay. 32A wife who commits adultery! who takes strangers instead of her husband! 33They give gifts to all prostitutes; but you give your gifts to all your lovers, and bribe them, that they may come to you on every side for your prostitution. 34You are different from other women in your prostitution, in that no one follows you to play the prostitute; and whereas you give hire, and no hire is given to you, therefore you are different. 35Therefore, prostitute, hear Yahweh’s word: 36Thus says the Lord Yahweh, Because your filthiness was poured out, and your nakedness uncovered through your prostitution with your lovers; and because of all the idols of your abominations, and for the blood of your children, that you gave to them; 37therefore see, I will gather all your lovers, with whom you have taken pleasure, and all those who you have loved, with all those who you have hated; I will even gather them against you on every side, and will uncover your nakedness to them, that they may see all your nakedness. 38I will judge you, as women who break wedlock and shed blood are judged; and I will bring on you the blood of wrath and jealousy. 39I will also give you into their hand, and they shall throw down your vaulted place, and break down your lofty places; and they shall strip you of your clothes, and take your beautiful jewels; and they shall leave you naked and bare. 40They shall also bring up a company against you, and they shall stone you with stones, and thrust you through with their swords. 41They shall burn your houses with fire, and execute judgments on you in the sight of many women; and I will cause you to cease from playing the prostitute, and you shall also give no hire any more. 42So will I cause my wrath toward you to rest, and my jealousy shall depart from you, and I will be quiet, and will be no more angry. 43Because you have not remembered the days of your youth, but have raged against me in all these things; therefore, behold, I also will bring your way on your head, says the Lord Yahweh: and you shall not commit this lewdness with all your abominations. 44Behold, everyone who uses proverbs shall use this proverb against you, saying, As is the mother, so is her daughter. 45You are the daughter of your mother, who loathes her husband and her children; and you are the sister of your sisters, who loathed their husbands and their children: your mother was a Hittite, and your father an Amorite. 46Your elder sister is Samaria, who dwells at your left hand, she and her daughters; and your younger sister, who dwells at your right hand, is Sodom and her daughters. 47Yet you have not walked in their ways, nor done after their abominations; but, soon you were more corrupt than they in all your ways. 48As I live, says the Lord Yahweh, Sodom your sister has not done, she nor her daughters, as you have done, you and your daughters. 49Behold, this was the iniquity of your sister Sodom: pride, fullness of bread, and prosperous ease was in her and in her daughters; neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. 50They were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away when I saw it. 51Neither has Samaria committed half of your sins; but you have multiplied your abominations more than they, and have justified your sisters by all your abominations which you have done. 52You also, bear you your own shame, in that you have given judgment for your sisters; through your sins that you have committed more abominable than they, they are more righteous that you: yes, be also confounded, and bear your shame, in that you have justified your sisters. 53I will turn again their captivity, the captivity of Sodom and her daughters, and the captivity of Samaria and her daughters, and the captivity of your captives in their midst; 54that you may bear your own shame, and may be ashamed because of all that you have done, in that you are a comfort to them. 55Your sisters, Sodom and her daughters, shall return to their former estate; and Samaria and her daughters shall return to their former estate; and you and your daughters shall return to your former estate. 56For your sister Sodom was not mentioned by your mouth in the day of your pride, 57before your wickedness was uncovered, as at the time of the reproach of the daughters of Syria, and of all who are around her, the daughters of the Philistines, who do despite to you all around. 58You have borne your lewdness and your abominations, says Yahweh. 59For thus says the Lord Yahweh: I will also deal with you as you have done, who have despised the oath in breaking the covenant. 60Nevertheless I will remember my covenant with you in the days of your youth, and I will establish to you an everlasting covenant. 61Then you shall remember your ways, and be ashamed, when you shall receive your sisters, your elder sisters and your younger; and I will give them to you for daughters, but not by your covenant. 62I will establish my covenant with you; and you shall know that I am Yahweh; 63that you may remember, and be confounded, and never open your mouth any more, because of your shame, when I have forgiven you all that you have done, says the Lord Yahweh.
1Verder geschiedde des HEEREN woord tot mij, zeggende: 2Mensenkind, maak Jeruzalem haar gruwelen bekend, 3En zeg: Alzo zegt de Heere HEERE tot Jeruzalem: Uw handelingen en uw geboorten zijn uit het land der Kanaanieten; uw vader was een Amoriet en uw moeder een Hethietische. 4En aangaande uw geboorten: ten dage, als gij geboren waart, werd uw navel niet afgesneden; en gij waart niet met water gewassen, toen Ik u aanschouwde; gij waart ook geenszins met zout gewreven, noch in windselen gewonden. 5Geen oog had medelijden over u, om u een van deze dingen te doen, om zich over u te erbarmen; maar gij zijt geworpen geweest op het vlakke des velds, om de walgelijkheid van uw ziel, ten dage, toen gij geboren waart. 6Als Ik bij u voorbijging, zo zag Ik u, vertreden zijnde in uw bloed, en Ik zeide tot u in uw bloed: Leef; ja, Ik zeide tot u in uw bloed: Leef! 7Ik heb u tot tien duizend, als het gewas des velds, gemaakt; en gij zijt gegroeid, en groot geworden, en zijt gekomen tot grote sierlijkheid; uw borsten zijn vast geworden, en uw haar is gewassen, doch gij waart naakt en bloot. 8Als Ik nu bij u voorbijging, zag Ik u, en ziet, uw tijd was de tijd der minne; zo breidde Ik Mijn vleugel over u uit, en dekte uw naaktheid; ja, Ik zwoer u, en kwam met u in een verbond, spreekt de Heere HEERE en gij werdt de Mijne. 9Daarna wies Ik u met water, en Ik spoelde uw bloed van u af, en zalfde u met olie. 10Ik bekleedde u ook met gestikt werk, en Ik schoeide u met dassenvellen, en omgordde u met fijn linnen, en bedekte u met zijde. 11Ook versierde Ik u met sieraad, en deed armringen aan uw handen, en een keten aan uw hals. 12Desgelijks deed Ik een voorhoofdsiersel aan uw aangezicht, en oorringen aan uw oren, en een kroon der heerlijkheid op uw hoofd. 13Zo waart gij versierd met goud en zilver, en uw kleding was fijn linnen, en zijde, en gestikt werk; gij at meelbloem, en honig, en olie, en gij waart gans zeer schoon, en waart voorspoedig, dat gij een koninkrijk werdt. 14Daartoe ging van u een naam uit onder de heidenen om uw schoonheid; want die was volmaakt door Mijn heerlijkheid, die Ik op u gelegd had, spreekt de Heere HEERE. 15Maar gij hebt vertrouwd op uw schoonheid, en hebt gehoereerd vanwege uw naam; ja, hebt uw hoererijen uitgestort aan een ieder, die voorbijging; voor hem was zij. 16En gij hebt van uw klederen genomen, en u gemaakt geplekte hoogten, en hebt daarop gehoereerd; zulks is niet gekomen, en zal niet geschieden. 17Daartoe hebt gij genomen de vaten uws sieraads van Mijn goud en van Mijn zilver, dat Ik u gegeven had, en gij hebt u mansbeelden gemaakt, en gij hebt met dezelve gehoereerd. 18En gij hebt uw gestikte klederen genomen, en hebt ze bedekt; en gij hebt Mijn olie en Mijn reukwerk voor hun aangezichten gesteld. 19En Mijn brood, hetwelk Ik u gaf, meelbloem en olie, en honig, waarmede Ik u spijsde, dat hebt gij ook voor hun aangezichten gesteld tot een liefelijken reuk; zo is het geschied, spreekt de Heere HEERE. 20Verder hebt gij uw zonen en uw dochteren, die gij Mij gebaard hadt, genomen, en hebt ze denzelven geofferd om te verteren; is het wat kleins van uw hoererijen, 21Dat gij Mijn kinderen geslacht hebt, en hebt ze overgegeven, als gij dezelve voor hen door het vuur hebt doen gaan? 22Ook hebt gij bij al uw gruwelen en uw hoererijen niet gedacht aan de dagen uwer jonkheid, als gij naakt en bloot waart, als gij vertreden waart in uw bloed. 23Het is ook geschied na al uw boosheid,, wee, wee u, spreekt de Heere HEERE), 24Dat gij u een verwelfsel gebouwd hebt, en u een hoge plaats gemaakt hebt in elke straat. 25Aan elk hoofd des wegs hebt gij uw hoge plaatsen gebouwd, en hebt uw schoonheid gruwelijk gemaakt, en hebt met uw benen geschreden voor een ieder, die voorbijging, en hebt uw hoererijen vermenigvuldigd. 26Gij hebt ook gehoereerd met de kinderen van Egypte, uw naburen, die groot van vlees zijn; en gij hebt uw hoererij vermenigvuldigd, om Mij tot toorn te verwekken. 27Ziet, daarom strekte Ik Mijn hand over u uit, en verminderde uw bescheiden deel; en Ik gaf u over in den lust dergenen, die u haten, der dochteren der Filistijnen, die vanwege uw schandelijken weg beschaamd waren. 28Verder hebt gij gehoereerd met de kinderen van Assur, omdat gij onverzadelijk waart; ja, als gij met hen gehoereerd hebt, zijt gij ook niet verzadigd geworden. 29Maar gij hebt uw hoererij vermenigvuldigd in het land van Kanaan tot in Chaldea; en daarmede ook zijt gij niet verzadigd geworden. 30Hoe zwak is uw hart (spreekt de Heere HEERE) als gij al deze dingen doet, zijnde het werk van een heersende hoerachtige vrouw! 31Als gij uw verwelfsel bouwt aan het hoofd van iederen weg, en uw hoge plaats maakt in elke straat, en niet zijt geweest als een hoer, het hoerenloon beschimpende. 32O, die overspelige vrouw, zij neemt in plaats van haar man de vreemden aan. 33Men geeft loon aan alle hoeren; maar gij geeft uw loon aan al uw boelen, en gij beschenkt ze, opdat zij tot u van rondom zouden ingaan om uw hoererijen. 34Zo geschiedt met u in uw hoererijen het tegendeel van de vrouwen, dewijl men u niet naloopt, om te hoereren; want als gij hoerenloon geeft, en het hoerenloon u niet gegeven wordt; zo zijt gij tot een tegendeel geworden. 35Daarom, o hoer, hoor des HEEREN woord. 36Alzo zegt de Heere HEERE: Omdat uw vergif uitgestort is, en uw schaamte door uw hoererijen met uw boelen ontdekt is, en met al de drekgoden uwer gruwelen, en na het bloed uwer kinderen, dat gij hun gegeven hebt; 37Daarom, zie, Ik zal al uw boelen vergaderen, met dewelke gij vermengd zijt geweest, en allen, die gij liefgehad hebt, met allen, die gij gehaat hebt; en Ik zal hen van rondom vergaderen tegen u, en Ik zal voor hen uw naaktheid ontdekken, dat zij uw ganse naaktheid zien zullen. 38Daartoe zal Ik u naar de rechten der overspeelsters en der bloedvergietsters richten; en Ik zal u overgeven aan het bloed der grimmigheid en des ijvers. 39En Ik zal u in hun hand overgeven, en zij zullen uw verwelfsel afbreken, en uw hoge plaatsen omwerpen, en uw klederen u uittrekken, en uw sierlijke juwelen nemen, en u naakt en bloot laten. 40Daarna zullen zij tegen u een vergadering doen opkomen, en zullen u met stenen stenigen, en u met hun zwaarden doorsteken. 41Zij zullen ook uw huizen met vuur verbranden, en oordelen tegen u uitvoeren voor veler vrouwen ogen; en Ik zal u doen ophouden van een hoer te zijn, en gij zult ook niet meer hoerenloon geven. 42Zo zal Ik Mijn grimmigheid op u doen rusten, en Mijn ijver zal van u afwijken; en Ik zal stil zijn, en niet meer toornig wezen. 43Daarom dat gij niet gedacht hebt aan de dagen uwer jonkheid, en Mij tot beroering geweest zijt met dit alles, zie, zo zal Ik ook uw weg op uw hoofd geven, spreekt de Heere HEERE; en gij zult die schandelijke daad niet doen boven al uw gruwelen. 44Zie, een ieder, die spreekwoorden gebruikt, zal van u een spreekwoord gebruiken, zeggende: Zo de moeder is, is haar dochter. 45Gij zijt de dochter uwer moeder, die de walg had van haar man en van haar kinderen; en gij zijt de zuster uwer zusteren, die de walg gehad hebben van haar mannen en van haar kinderen; uw moeder was een Hethietische, en uw vader een Amoriet. 46Uw grote zuster nu is Samaria, zij en haar dochteren, dewelke woont aan uw linkerhand; maar uw zuster, die kleiner is dan gij, die tegen uw rechterhand woont, is Sodom en haar dochteren. 47Doch gij hebt in haar wegen niet gewandeld, noch naar haar gruwelen gedaan; het was wat gerings, een verdriet; maar gij hebt het meer verdorven dan zij, in al uw wegen. 48Zo waarachtig als Ik leef, spreekt de Heere HEERE, indien Sodom, uw zuster, zij met haar dochteren, gedaan heeft, gelijk gij gedaan hebt en uw dochteren! 49Ziet, dit was de ongerechtigheid uwer zuster Sodom; hoogmoed, zatheid van brood en stille gerustheid had zij en haar dochteren; maar zij sterkte de hand des armen en nooddruftigen niet. 50En zij verhieven zich, en deden gruwelijkheid voor Mijn aangezicht; daarom deed Ik ze weg, nadat Ik het gezien had. 51Samaria ook heeft naar de helft uwer zonden niet gezondigd; en gij hebt uw gruwelen meer dan zij vermenigvuldigd, en hebt uw zusters gerechtvaardigd door al uw gruwelen, die gij gedaan hebt. 52Draag gij dan ook uw schande, gij, die voor uw zusteren geoordeeld hebt door uw zonden, die gij gruwelijker gemaakt hebt dan zij; zij zijn rechtvaardiger dan gij; wees gij dan ook beschaamd, en draag uw schande, omdat gij uw zusters gerechtvaardigd hebt. 53Als Ik haar gevangenen wederbrengen zal, namelijk de gevangenen van Sodom en haar dochteren, en de gevangenen van Samaria en haar dochteren, dan zal Ik wederbrengen de gevangenen uwer gevangenis in het midden van haar. 54Opdat gij uw schande draagt, en te schande gemaakt wordt, om al hetgeen gij gedaan hebt, als gij haar troosten zult. 55Als uw zusters, Sodom en haar dochteren, zullen wederkeren tot haar vorigen staat, mitsgaders Samaria en haar dochteren zullen wederkeren tot haar vorigen staat, zult gij ook en uw dochteren wederkeren tot uw vorigen staat. 56Ja, uw zuster Sodom is in uw mond niet gehoord geweest, ten dage uws groten hoogmoeds, 57Aleer uw boosheid ontdekt was. Als de tijd was der versmading van de dochteren van Syrie, en van al degenen, die rondom datzelve waren, de dochteren der Filistijnen, die u verachten van rondom, 58Hebt gij uw schandelijke daden en uw gruwelen gedragen, spreekt de HEERE. 59Want alzo zegt de Heere HEERE: Ik zal u ook doen, gelijk als gij gedaan hebt, die den eed veracht hebt, brekende het verbond. 60Evenwel zal Ik gedachtig wezen aan Mijn verbond met u, in de dagen uwer jonkheid, en Ik zal met u een eeuwig verbond oprichten. 61Dan zult gij uwer wegen gedenken en beschaamd zijn, als gij uw zusteren, die groter zijn dan gij, aannemen zult; want Ik zal u dezelve geven tot dochteren, maar niet uit uw verbond. 62Want Ik zal Mijn verbond met u oprichten, en gij zult weten, dat Ik de HEERE ben; 63Opdat gij het gedachtig zijt, en u schaamt, en niet meer uw mond opent vanwege uw schande, wanneer Ik voor u verzoening doen zal over al hetgeen gij gedaan hebt, spreekt de Heere HEERE.
