1La parola dell’Eterno mi fu rivolta in questi termini: "Figliuol d’uomo, 2volgi la tua faccia verso i monti d’Israele, profetizza contro di loro, e di’: 3O monti d’Israele, ascoltate la parola del Signore, dell’Eterno! Così parla il Signore, l’Eterno, ai monti ed ai colli, ai burroni ed alle valli: Eccomi, io fo venire su di voi la spada, e distruggerò i vostri alti luoghi. 4I vostri altari saranno desolati, le vostre colonne solari saranno infranti, e io farò cadere i vostri uccisi davanti ai vostri idoli. 5E metterò i cadaveri de’ figliuoli d’Israele davanti ai loro idoli, e spargerò le vostre ossa attorno ai vostri altari. 6Dovunque abitate, le città saranno deserte e gli alti luoghi desolati, affinché i vostri altari siano deserti e desolati, i vostri idoli siano infranti e scompaiano, le vostre colonne solari siano abbattute, e tutte le vostre opere siano spazzate via. 7I morti cadranno in mezzo a voi, e voi conoscerete che io sono l’Eterno. 8Nondimeno, io vi lascerò un residuo; poiché avrete alcuni scampati dalla spada fra le nazioni, quando sarete dispersi in vari paesi. 9E i vostri scampati si ricorderanno di me fra le genti dove saranno stati menati in cattività, poiché io spezzerò il loro cuore adultero che s’è stornato da me, e farò piangere i loro occhi che han commesso adulterio con i loro idoli; e avranno disgusto di loro stessi, per i mali che hanno commessi con tutte le loro abominazioni. 10E conosceranno che io sono l’Eterno, e che non invano li ho minacciati di far loro questo male. 11Così parla il Signore, l’Eterno: Batti le mani, batti del piede, e di’: Ahimè! a motivo di tutte le scellerate abominazioni della casa d’Israele, che cadrà per la spada, per la fame, per la peste. 12Chi sarà lontano morirà di peste; chi sarà vicino cadrà per la spada; e chi sarà rimasto e sarà assediato, perirà di fame; e io sfogherò così il mio furore su di loro. 13E voi conoscerete che io sono l’Eterno, quando i loro morti saranno in mezzo ai loro idoli, attorno ai loro altari, sopra ogni alto colle, su tutte le vette dei monti, sotto ogni albero verdeggiante, sotto ogni querce dal folto fogliame, là dove essi offrivano profumi d’odor soave a tutti i loro idoli. 14E io stenderò su di loro la mia mano, e renderò il paese più solitario e desolato del deserto di Dibla, dovunque essi abitano; e conosceranno che io sono l’Eterno".
1Yahweh’s word came to me, saying, 2Son of man, set your face toward the mountains of Israel, and prophesy to them, 3and say, You mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord Yahweh: Thus says the Lord Yahweh to the mountains and to the hills, to the watercourses and to the valleys: Behold, I, even I, will bring a sword on you, and I will destroy your high places. 4Your altars shall become desolate, and your incense altars shall be broken; and I will cast down your slain men before your idols. 5I will lay the dead bodies of the children of Israel before their idols; and I will scatter your bones around your altars. 6In all your dwelling places the cities shall be laid waste, and the high places shall be desolate; that your altars may be laid waste and made desolate, and your idols may be broken and cease, and your incense altars may be cut down, and your works may be abolished. 7The slain shall fall in your midst, and you shall know that I am Yahweh. 8Yet will I leave a remnant, in that you shall have some that escape the sword among the nations, when you shall be scattered through the countries. 9Those of you that escape shall remember me among the nations where they shall be carried captive, how that I have been broken with their lewd heart, which has departed from me, and with their eyes, which play the prostitute after their idols: and they shall loathe themselves in their own sight for the evils which they have committed in all their abominations. 10They shall know that I am Yahweh: I have not said in vain that I would do this evil to them. 11Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Strike with your hand, and stamp with your foot, and say, Alas! because of all the evil abominations of the house of Israel; for they shall fall by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence. 12He who is far off shall die of the pestilence; and he who is near shall fall by the sword; and he who remains and is besieged shall die by the famine: thus will I accomplish my wrath on them. 13You shall know that I am Yahweh, when their slain men shall be among their idols around their altars, on every high hill, on all the tops of the mountains, and under every green tree, and under every thick oak, the places where they offered pleasant aroma to all their idols. 14I will stretch out my hand on them, and make the land desolate and waste, from the wilderness toward Diblah, throughout all their habitations: and they shall know that I am Yahweh.
1En het woord des HEEREN geschiedde tot mij, zeggende: 2Mensenkind, zet uw aangezicht tegen de bergen Israels, en profeteer tegen dezelve; 3En zeg: Gij bergen Israels, hoort het woord des Heeren HEEREN! Zo zegt de Heere HEERE tot de bergen en tot de heuvelen, tot de beken en tot de dalen: Ziet, Ik, Ik breng over u het zwaard, en Ik zal uw hoogten verderven. 4Daartoe zullen uw altaren verwoest, en uw zonnebeelden verbroken worden; en Ik zal uw verslagenen nedervellen voor het aangezicht uwer drekgoden. 5En Ik zal de dode lichamen der kinderen Israels voor het aangezicht hunner drekgoden leggen, en Ik zal uw beenderen rondom uw altaren strooien. 6In al uw woningen zullen de steden verwoest en de hoogten tot wildernis worden, opdat uw altaren woest en eenzaam zijn, en uw drekgoden verbroken worden en ophouden, en uw zonnebeelden afgehouwen, en uw werken uitgedelgd worden. 7En de verslagenen zullen in het midden van u liggen, opdat gij weet, dat Ik de HEERE ben. 8Ik zal dan nog een overblijfsel laten, als gij enigen zult hebben, die het zwaard ontkomen onder de heidenen, wanneer gij in de landen zult verstrooid worden. 9Dan zullen uw ontkomenen Mijner gedenken onder de heidenen, waar zij gevankelijk zullen geworden zijn, omdat Ik verbroken ben door hun hoerachtig hart, dat van Mij afgeweken is, en door hun ogen, die hun drekgoden nahoereren; en zij zullen een walging aan zichzelven hebben over de boosheden, die zij in al hun gruwelen gedaan hebben. 10En zij zullen weten, dat Ik de HEERE ben; Ik heb niet tevergeefs gesproken, van hun dit kwaad aan te doen. 11Zo zegt de Heere HEERE: Sla met uw hand, en stamp met uw voet, en zeg: Ach, over alle gruwelen der boosheden van het huis Israels; want zij zullen door het zwaard, door den honger en door de pestilentie vallen. 12Die verre af is, zal door de pest sterven, en die nabij is, zal door het zwaard vallen; maar die overgebleven en belegerd is, zal door honger sterven; alzo zal Ik Mijn grimmigheid tegen hen volbrengen. 13Dan zult gij weten, dat Ik de HEERE ben, als hun verslagenen in het midden hunner drekgoden rondom hun altaren wezen zullen op alle hoge heuvelen, op alle toppen der bergen, en onder allen groenen boom, en onder alle dichte eiken, de plaats, alwaar zij al hun drekgoden liefelijken reuk maakten. 14Daarom zal Ik Mijn hand over hen uitstrekken, en zal het land woest maken, ja, woester dan de woestijn naar Diblath henen, in al hun woningen; en zij zullen bevinden, dat Ik de HEERE ben.
