1Có lời Ðức Giê-hô-va phán cho ta như vầy: 2Hỡi con người, hãy xây mặt về các núi của Y-sơ-ra-ên, và nói tiên tri nghịch cùng nó, 3rằng: Hỡi các núi của Y-sơ-ra-ên, hãy nghe lời của Chúa Giê-hô-va. Chúa Giê-hô-va phán cùng các núi, các đồi, hầm hố, và nơi trũng như vầy: Nầy, ta, chính ta sẽ giá gươm trên các ngươi, hủy hoại các nơi cao của các ngươi. 4Bàn thờ các ngươi sẽ bị phá hoang, tượng mặt trời các ngươi sẽ bị bẻ gãy; ta sẽ ném bỏ những kẻ bị giết của các ngươi trước mặt thần tượng các ngươi. 5Ta sẽ đặt những xác chết con cái Y-sơ-ra-ên ra trước mặt thần tượng chúng nó, và rải hài cốt các ngươi khắp chung quanh bàn thờ các ngươi. 6Hễ nơi nào các ngươi ở, thì thành ấp sẽ bị hủy hoại, các nơi cao sẽ bị hoang vu, đến nỗi bàn thờ các ngươi bị hủy hoại hoang vu, thần tượng bị đập bể và không còn nữa, tượng mặt trời nát ra từng mảnh, và mọi công việc của các ngươi thành ra hư không. 7Những kẻ bị giết sẽ ngã xuống giữa các ngươi, các ngươi sẽ biết rằng ta là Ðức Giê-hô-va! 8Dầu vậy, khi các ngươi bị tan lạc ra các nước, ta sẽ còn để dân sót lại, vì giữa các nước sẽ có một vài người được thoát khỏi mũi gươm. 9Những kẻ trong các ngươi được thoát ấy sẽ nhớ đến ta trong các nước mà chúng nó bị bắt đến, thể nào ta đã buồn rầu trong lòng, vì lòng tà dâm của chúng nó đã lìa bỏ ta, và mắt chúng nó hành dâm theo thần tượng mình. Bấy giờ chúng nó tự oán hận mình, vì cớ mọi sự dữ chúng nó đã làm bởi những việc gớm ghiếc của mình. 10Chúng nó sẽ biết ta là Ðức Giê-hô-va, và lời ta đã nói giáng tai vạ cho chúng nó chẳng phải là lời hư không vậy. 11Chúa Giê-hô-va phán như vầy: Hãy vỗ tay giậm chơn mà rằng: Than ôi! vì mọi sự dữ đáng gớm của nhà Y-sơ-ra-ên; vì nó sẽ chết bởi gươm dao, đói kém, và ôn dịch. 12Kẻ nào xa sẽ chết bởi ôn dịch. Kẻ nào gần sẽ ngã dưới lưỡi gươm. Kẻ nào sống sót, là kẻ bị vây, sẽ chết bởi đói kém; đối với chúng nó, ta sẽ làm cho trọn sự giận của ta. 13Khi những kẻ bị giết của chúng nó nằm giữa đám thần tượng xung quanh bàn thờ, trên mỗi gò cao, trên mọi đỉnh núi, dưới mọi cây xanh và cây dẽ rậm, khắp những nơi chúng nó dâng hương thơm ngào ngạt cho thần tượng mình, bấy giờ các ngươi sẽ biết ta là Ðức Giê-hô-va. 14Vậy ta sẽ giang tay nghịch cùng chúng nó, hễ nơi nào chúng nó ở, thì ta sẽ làm cho đất đó ra hoang vu hủy phá, từ đồng vắng cho đến Ðíp-lát. Thế thì chúng nó sẽ biết ta là Ðức Giê-hô-va.
1Yahweh’s word came to me, saying, 2Son of man, set your face toward the mountains of Israel, and prophesy to them, 3and say, You mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord Yahweh: Thus says the Lord Yahweh to the mountains and to the hills, to the watercourses and to the valleys: Behold, I, even I, will bring a sword on you, and I will destroy your high places. 4Your altars shall become desolate, and your incense altars shall be broken; and I will cast down your slain men before your idols. 5I will lay the dead bodies of the children of Israel before their idols; and I will scatter your bones around your altars. 6In all your dwelling places the cities shall be laid waste, and the high places shall be desolate; that your altars may be laid waste and made desolate, and your idols may be broken and cease, and your incense altars may be cut down, and your works may be abolished. 7The slain shall fall in your midst, and you shall know that I am Yahweh. 8Yet will I leave a remnant, in that you shall have some that escape the sword among the nations, when you shall be scattered through the countries. 9Those of you that escape shall remember me among the nations where they shall be carried captive, how that I have been broken with their lewd heart, which has departed from me, and with their eyes, which play the prostitute after their idols: and they shall loathe themselves in their own sight for the evils which they have committed in all their abominations. 10They shall know that I am Yahweh: I have not said in vain that I would do this evil to them. 11Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Strike with your hand, and stamp with your foot, and say, Alas! because of all the evil abominations of the house of Israel; for they shall fall by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence. 12He who is far off shall die of the pestilence; and he who is near shall fall by the sword; and he who remains and is besieged shall die by the famine: thus will I accomplish my wrath on them. 13You shall know that I am Yahweh, when their slain men shall be among their idols around their altars, on every high hill, on all the tops of the mountains, and under every green tree, and under every thick oak, the places where they offered pleasant aroma to all their idols. 14I will stretch out my hand on them, and make the land desolate and waste, from the wilderness toward Diblah, throughout all their habitations: and they shall know that I am Yahweh.

Zo zegt de Heere HEERE tot de bergen en tot de heuvelen, tot de beken en tot de dalen: Ziet, Ik, Ik breng over u het zwaard, en Ik zal uw hoogten verderven. 4Daartoe zullen uw altaren verwoest, en uw zonnebeelden verbroken worden; en Ik zal uw verslagenen nedervellen voor het aangezicht uwer drekgoden. 5En Ik zal de dode lichamen der kinderen Israels voor het aangezicht hunner drekgoden leggen, en Ik zal uw beenderen rondom uw altaren strooien. 6In al uw woningen zullen de steden verwoest en de hoogten tot wildernis worden, opdat uw altaren woest en eenzaam zijn, en uw drekgoden verbroken worden en ophouden, en uw zonnebeelden afgehouwen, en uw werken uitgedelgd worden. 7En de verslagenen zullen in het midden van u liggen, opdat gij weet, dat Ik de HEERE ben. 8Ik zal dan nog een overblijfsel laten, als gij enigen zult hebben, die het zwaard ontkomen onder de heidenen, wanneer gij in de landen zult verstrooid worden. 9Dan zullen uw ontkomenen Mijner gedenken onder de heidenen, waar zij gevankelijk zullen geworden zijn, omdat Ik verbroken ben door hun hoerachtig hart, dat van Mij afgeweken is, en door hun ogen, die hun drekgoden nahoereren; en zij zullen een walging aan zichzelven hebben over de boosheden, die zij in al hun gruwelen gedaan hebben. 10En zij zullen weten, dat Ik de HEERE ben; Ik heb niet tevergeefs gesproken, van hun dit kwaad aan te doen. 11Zo zegt de Heere HEERE: Sla met uw hand, en stamp met uw voet, en zeg: Ach, over alle gruwelen der boosheden van het huis Israels; want zij zullen door het zwaard, door den honger en door de pestilentie vallen. 12Die verre af is, zal door de pest sterven, en die nabij is, zal door het zwaard vallen; maar die overgebleven en belegerd is, zal door honger sterven; alzo zal Ik Mijn grimmigheid tegen hen volbrengen. 13Dan zult gij weten, dat Ik de HEERE ben, als hun verslagenen in het midden hunner drekgoden rondom hun altaren wezen zullen op alle hoge heuvelen, op alle toppen der bergen, en onder allen groenen boom, en onder alle dichte eiken, de plaats, alwaar zij al hun drekgoden liefelijken reuk maakten. 14Daarom zal Ik Mijn hand over hen uitstrekken, en zal het land woest maken, ja, woester dan de woestijn naar Diblath henen, in al hun woningen; en zij zullen bevinden, dat Ik de HEERE ben.
