1Ngài bèn phán cùng ta rằng: Hỡi con người, hãy ăn vật ngươi thấy; hãy ăn cuốn nầy, rồi đi, và nói cùng nhà Y-sơ-ra-ên. 2Ta mở miệng ra, và Ngài khiến ta ăn cuốn ấy. 3Ngài phán: Hỡi con người, hãy lấy cuốn ta cho ngươi mà khiến bụng ăn và làm đầy ruột. Vậy ta ăn lấy, thì trong miệng ngọt như mật. 4Ngài lại phán: Hỡi con người, hãy đi, hãy đến cùng nhà Y-sơ-ra-ên, đem những lời ta, thuật lại cho chúng nó. 5Vả, ấy chẳng phải ta sai ngươi đến cùng dân nói tiếng mọi rợ khó hiểu; bèn là đến cùng nhà Y-sơ-ra-ên. 6Thật, chẳng phải ta sai ngươi đến cùng nhiều dân nói tiếng mọi rợ khó hiểu, mà ngươi không thể hiểu lời chúng nó; nếu ta sai ngươi đến cùng chúng nó, chắc chúng nó sẽ nghe ngươi. 7Nhưng nhà Y-sơ-ra-ên chẳng nghe ngươi, vì nó không muốn nghe ta; bởi chưng cả nhà Y-sơ-ra-ên đều cứng trán cứng lòng. 8Nầy, ta làm cho mặt ngươi dạn nghịch cùng mặt chúng nó, trán ngươi cứng nghịch cùng trán chúng nó. 9Ta làm cho trán ngươi cứng như kim cương, cứng hơn đá lửa. Ðừng sợ và đừng run rẩy vì bộ mặt chúng nó, dầu chúng nó là nhà bạn nghịch mặc lòng! 10Ðoạn, Ngài phán cùng ta rằng: Hỡi con người, hãy nhận vào lòng và nghe vào tai mọi lời ta sẽ phán cùng ngươi. 11Hãy đi, đến cùng những kẻ bị đày, cùng các con cái của dân ngươi. Khá nói cùng chúng nó, dầu chúng nó nghe, dầu chẳng khứng nghe, ngươi cũng nói với rằng: Chúa Giê-hô-va có phán như vậy. 12Bấy giờ Thần cất ta lên, và ta nghe có tiếng ào ào rất lớn ở đằng sau ta rằng: Ðáng chúc phước cho sự vinh hiển Ðức Giê-hô-va từ nơi Ngài! 13Ta cũng nghe tiếng cánh của các vật sống đập cái nầy với cái khác, tiếng của những bánh xe kề các vật ấy, và tiếng ào ào rất lớn. 14Ðoạn, Thần cất ta lên và đem ta đi; ta đi, lòng ta đầy sự cay đắng nóng nảy, tay Ðức Giê-hô-va đặt trên ta cách mạnh mẽ. 15Ta bèn đi đến Tên-a-bíp cùng những kẻ bị đày ở trên bờ sông Kê-ba. Ta dừng lại nơi họ đương ở, và trú lại giữa họ bảy ngày, buồn rầu lặng lẽ. 16Khỏi bảy ngày, có lời của Ðức Giê-hô-va phán cùng ta như vầy: 17Hỡi con người, ta đã lập ngươi lên đặng canh giữ nhà Y-sơ-ra-ên; khá nghe lời từ miệng ta, và thay ta răn bảo chúng nó. 18Khi ta nói với kẻ dữ rằng: Mầy chắc sẽ chết! Nếu ngươi không răn bảo nó, không nói với nó đặng khuyên nó từ bỏ đường xấu để cứu mạng mình, thì người dự đó sẽ chết trong tội lỗi nó; nhưng ta sẽ đòi huyết nó nơi tay ngươi. 19Trái lại, nếu ngươi răn bảo kẻ dữ, mà nó không từ bỏ sự dự cùng đường xấu mình, thì nó sẽ chết trong tội lỗi nó; còn ngươi, thì giải cứu được linh hồn mình. 20Cũng một lẽ ấy, nếu người công bình bỏ sự công bình mà phạm tội, và ta đặt sự ngăn trở trước mặt nó, thì nó sẽ chết. Thế thì, vì ngươi không răn bảo người ấy, nên nó sẽ chết trong tội lỗi nó, và không còn được ghi nhớ những việc công bình nó đã làm; nhưng ta sẽ đòi huyết nó nơi tay ngươi. 21Trái lại, nếu ngươi răn bảo người công bình, khiến đừng phạm tội, mà thật ra nó không phạm tội, thì chắc nó sẽ sống, vì đã nghe lời răn bảo; còn ngươi, thì giải cứu được linh hồn mình. 22Tại đó, tay Ðức Giê-hô-va ở trên ta, và Ngài phán cùng ta rằng: Hãy chờ dậy, đi trong nơi đồng bằng, tại đó ta sẽ phán cùng ngươi. 23Vậy ta chờ dậy và ra đi trong đồng bằng. Nầy, sự vinh hiển Ðức Giê-hô-va đứng đó, như sự vinh hiển ta đã thấy trên bờ sông Kê-ba. Ta bèn ngã sấp mặt xuống, 24thì Thần vào trong ta, làm cho chơn ta đứng lên. Ðoạn, Ngài phán cùng ta, và bảo rằng: Hãy đi, giam mình trong nhà ngươi. 25Hỡi con người, nầy, người ta sẽ lấy dây trói ngươi, và ngươi không thể đi ra giữa chúng nó. 26Ta sẽ khiến lưỡi ngươi dính vào cửa họng ngươi: ngươi sẽ câm, không quở trách chúng nó được; vì chúng nó là nhà bạn nghịch. 27Nhưng khi ta phán cùng ngươi, ta sẽ mở miệng ngươi, và ngươi khá bảo chúng nó rằng: Chúa Giê-hô-va phán như vầy: Ai nghe, hãy nghe; ai không nghe, thì đừng nghe! Vì chúng nó là nhà bạn nghịch.
1He said to me, Son of man, eat that which you find. Eat this scroll, and go, speak to the house of Israel. 2So I opened my mouth, and he caused me to eat the scroll. 3He said to me, Son of man, cause your belly to eat, and fill your bowels with this scroll that I give you. Then I ate it; and it was as sweet as honey in my mouth. 4He said to me, Son of man, go to the house of Israel, and speak my words to them. 5For you are not sent to a people of a strange speech and of a hard language, but to the house of Israel; 6not to many peoples of a strange speech and of a hard language, whose words you can not understand. Surely, if I sent you to them, they would listen to you. 7But the house of Israel will not listen to you; for they will not listen to me: for all the house of Israel are obstinate and hard-hearted. 8Behold, I have made your face hard against their faces, and your forehead hard against their foreheads. 9As an adamant harder than flint have I made your forehead: don’t be afraid of them, neither be dismayed at their looks, though they are a rebellious house. 10Moreover he said to me, Son of man, all my words that I shall speak to you receive in your heart, and hear with your ears. 11Go to them of the captivity, to the children of your people, and speak to them, and tell them, Thus says the Lord Yahweh; whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear. 12Then the Spirit lifted me up, and I heard behind me the voice of a great rushing, saying, Blessed be Yahweh’s glory from his place. 13I heard the noise of the wings of the living creatures as they touched one another, and the noise of the wheels beside them, even the noise of a great rushing. 14So the Spirit lifted me up, and took me away; and I went in bitterness, in the heat of my spirit; and the hand of Yahweh was strong on me. 15Then I came to them of the captivity at Tel Aviv, that lived by the river Chebar, and to where they lived; and I sat there overwhelmed among them seven days. 16At the end of seven days, Yahweh’s word came to me, saying, 17Son of man, I have made you a watchman to the house of Israel: therefore hear the word from my mouth, and give them warning from me. 18When I tell the wicked, You shall surely die; and you give him no warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at your hand. 19Yet if you warn the wicked, and he doesn’t turn from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered your soul. 20Again, when a righteous man does turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumbling block before him, he shall die: because you have not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteous deeds which he has done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at your hand. 21Nevertheless if you warn the righteous man, that the righteous not sin, and he does not sin, he shall surely live, because he took warning; and you have delivered your soul. 22The hand of Yahweh was there on me; and he said to me, Arise, go out into the plain, and I will there talk with you. 23Then I arose, and went out into the plain: and behold, Yahweh’s glory stood there, as the glory which I saw by the river Chebar; and I fell on my face. 24Then the Spirit entered into me, and set me on my feet; and he spoke with me, and said to me, Go, shut yourself inside your house. 25But you, son of man, behold, they shall lay bands on you, and shall bind you with them, and you shall not go out among them: 26and I will make your tongue stick to the roof of your mouth, that you shall be mute, and shall not be to them a reprover; for they are a rebellious house. 27But when I speak with you, I will open your mouth, and you shall tell them, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: He who hears, let him hear; and he who forbears, let him forbear: for they are a rebellious house.
1Daarna zeide Hij tot mij: Mensenkind, eet, wat gij vinden zult; eet deze rol, en ga, spreek tot het huis Israels. 2Toen opende ik mijn mond, en Hij gaf mij die rol te eten. 3En Hij zeide tot mij: Mensenkind, geef uw buik te eten, en vul uw ingewand met deze rol, die Ik u geef. Toen at ik, en het was in mijn mond als honig, vanwege de zoetigheid. 4En Hij zeide tot mij: Mensenkind, ga henen, kom tot het huis Israels, en spreek tot hen met Mijn woorden. 5Want gij zijt niet gezonden tot een volk, diep van spraak en zwaar van tong, maar tot het huis Israels; 6Niet tot vele volken, diep van spraak en zwaar van tong, welker woorden gij niet kunt verstaan; zouden zij niet, zo Ik u tot hen gezonden had, naar u gehoord hebben? 7Maar het huis Israels wil naar u niet horen, omdat zij naar Mij niet willen horen; want het ganse huis Israels is stijf van voorhoofd, en hard van hart zijn zij. 8Ziet, Ik heb uw aangezicht stijf gemaakt tegen hun aangezichten, en uw voorhoofd stijf tegen hun voorhoofd. 9Uw voorhoofd heb Ik gemaakt als een diamant, harder dan een rots; vrees hen niet, en ontzet u niet voor hun aangezichten, omdat zij een wederspannig huis zijn. 10Verder zeide Hij tot mij: Mensenkind, vat al Mijn woorden, die Ik tot u spreken zal, in uw hart, en hoor ze met uw oren. 11En ga henen, kom tot de weggevoerden, tot de kinderen uws volks, en spreek tot hen, en zeg tot hen: Zo zegt de Heere HEERE, hetzij dat zij horen zullen, of hetzij dat zij het laten zullen. 12Toen nam de Geest mij op, en ik hoorde achter mij een stem van grote ruising, zeggende: Geloofd zij de heerlijkheid des HEEREN uit Zijn plaats! 13En ik hoorde het geluid van der dieren vleugelen, die de een den ander raakten, en het geluid der raderen tegenover hen; en het geluid ener grote ruising. 14Toen hief de Geest mij op, en nam mij weg, en ik ging henen, bitterlijk bedroefd door de hitte mijns geestes; maar de hand des HEEREN was sterk op mij. 15En ik kwam tot de weggevoerden te Tel-Abib, die aan de rivier Chebar woonden, en ik bleef daar zij woonden; ja, ik bleef daar verbaasd in het midden van hen zeven dagen. 16Het gebeurde nu ten einde van zeven dagen, dat het woord des HEEREN tot mij geschiedde, zeggende: 17Mensenkind! Ik heb u tot een wachter gesteld over het huis Israels; zo zult gij het woord uit Mijn mond horen, en hen van Mijnentwege waarschuwen. 18Als Ik tot den goddeloze zeg: Gij zult den dood sterven, en gij waarschuwt hem niet, en spreekt niet, om den goddeloze van zijn goddelozen weg te waarschuwen, opdat gij hem in het leven behoudt; die goddeloze zal in zijn ongerechtigheid sterven, maar zijn bloed zal Ik van uw hand eisen. 19Doch als gij den goddeloze waarschuwt, en hij zich van zijn goddeloosheid en van zijn goddelozen weg niet bekeert, hij zal in zijn ongerechtigheid sterven; maar gij hebt uw ziel bevrijd. 20Als ook een rechtvaardige zich van zijn gerechtigheid afkeert, en onrecht doet, en Ik een aanstoot voor zijn aangezicht leg, hij zal sterven; omdat gij hem niet gewaarschuwd hebt, zal hij in zijn zonde sterven, en zijn gerechtigheden, die hij gedaan heeft, zullen niet gedacht worden; maar zijn bloed zal Ik van uw hand eisen. 21Doch als gij den rechtvaardige waarschuwt, opdat de rechtvaardige niet zondige, en hij niet zondigt; hij zal zekerlijk leven, omdat hij gewaarschuwd is; en gij hebt uw ziel bevrijd. 22En de hand des HEEREN was daar op mij, en Hij zeide tot mij: Maak u op, ga uit in de vallei, en Ik zal daar met u spreken. 23En ik maakte mij op, en ging uit in de vallei, en ziet, de heerlijkheid des HEEREN stond aldaar, gelijk de heerlijkheid, die ik gezien had bij de rivier Chebar; en ik viel op mijn aangezicht. 24Toen kwam de Geest in mij, en stelde mij op mijn voeten, en Hij sprak met mij, en Hij zeide tot mij: Ga, besluit u binnen in uw huis. 25Want u aangaande, mensenkind, ziet, zij zouden dikke touwen aan u leggen, en zij zouden u daarmede binden; daarom zult gij niet uitgaan in het midden van hen. 26En Ik zal uw tong aan uw gehemelte doen kleven, dat gij stom worden zult, en zult hun niet zijn tot een bestraffenden man; want zij zijn een wederspannig huis. 27Maar als Ik met u spreken zal, zal Ik uw mond opendoen, en gij zult tot hen zeggen: Zo zegt de Heere HEERE, wie hoort, die hore, en wie het laat, die late het; want zij zijn een wederspannig huis.
