Jeremias 45

1Palavra que o profeta Jeremias falou a Baruque filho de Nerias, quando ele escrevia num livro aquelas palavras da boca de Jeremias, no quinto ano de Jeoaquim filho de Josias, rei de Judá, dizendo: 2Assim diz o SENHOR Deus de Israel, quanto a ti, Baruque: 3Tu disseste: Ai de mim agora! Pois o SENHOR me acrescentou tristeza sobre minha dor; já estou cansado de meu gemido, e não acho descanso. 4Assim lhe dirás: Assim diz o SENHOR: Eis que o que edifiquei eu destruo; e o que plantei eu arranco, até toda esta terra. 5E tu buscarias para ti grandezas? Não as busques; porque eis que eu trago o mal sobre toda carne, diz o SENHOR, mas conservarei tua vida em todos os lugares para onde fores.

1The message that Jeremiah the prophet spoke to Baruch the son of Neriah, when he wrote these words in a book at the mouth of Jeremiah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, saying, 2Thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel, to you, Baruch: 3You said, Woe is me now! for Yahweh has added sorrow to my pain; I am weary with my groaning, and I find no rest. 4You shall tell him, Thus says Yahweh: Behold, that which I have built will I break down, and that which I have planted I will pluck up; and this in the whole land. 5Do you seek great things for yourself? Don’t seek them; for, behold, I will bring evil on all flesh, says Yahweh; but your life will I give to you for a prey in all places where you go.

1Het woord, dat de profeet Jeremia gesproken heeft tot Baruch, den zoon van Nerija, als hij die woorden uit den mond van Jeremia in een boek schreef, in het vierde jaar van Jojakim, den zoon van Josia, den koning van Juda, zeggende: 2Alzo zegt de HEERE, de God Israels, van u, o Baruch! 3Gij zegt: Wee nu mij, want de HEERE heeft droefenis tot mijn smart gedaan; ik ben moede van mijn zuchten, en vind geen rust! 4Zo zult gij tot hem zeggen: Zo zegt de HEERE: Zie, dat Ik gebouwd heb, breek Ik af, en dat Ik geplant heb, ruk Ik uit, zelfs dit ganse land. 5En zoudt gij u grote dingen zoeken? Zoek ze niet; want zie, Ik breng een kwaad over alle vlees, spreekt de HEERE; maar Ik zal u uw ziel tot een buit geven, in alle plaatsen, waar gij zult henentrekken.
