1E veio a mim a palavra do SENHOR, dizendo: 2Não tomes para ti mulher, nem tenhas filhos nem filhas neste lugar. 3Porque assim diz o SENHOR quanto aos filhos e às filhas que nascerem neste lugar, e às suas mães que os tiverem e aos pais que os gerarem nesta terra: 4De dolorosas enfermidades morrerão; não serão pranteados nem sepultados; servirão de esterco sobre a face da terra; e com espada e com fome serão consumidos, e seus cadáveres servirão de alimento para as aves do céu e para os animais da terra. 5Porque assim diz o SENHOR: Não entres em casa de luto, nem vás para lamentar, nem mostre compaixão deles; pois deste povo eu tirei minha paz, bondade e misericórdia, diz o SENHOR. 6E nesta terra morrerão grandes e pequenos; não serão sepultados, nem pranteados, nem por eles se cortarão, ou rasparão seus cabelos; 7Nem repartirão pão aos que estiverem de luto, para consolá-los de seus mortos; nem lhes darão a beber copo de consolações pelo pai ou pela mãe. 8Nem também entres em casa de banquete, para te sentares com eles para comer e beber; 9Porque assim diz o SENHOR dos exércitos, Deus de Israel: Eis que farei cessar neste lugar, diante de vossos olhos e em vossos dias, toda voz de prazer e toda voz de alegria, toda voz de noivo e toda voz de noiva. 10E será que quando anunciares a este povo todas estas palavras, eles te dirão: Por que o SENHOR falou sobre nós este mal tão grande? E que maldade é a nossa, ou que pecado é o nosso, que cometemos contra o SENHOR nosso Deus? 11Então lhes dirás: Porque vossos pais me deixaram, diz o SENHOR, e seguiram deuses estrangeiros, os serviram e a eles se prostraram; e me abandonaram, e não guardaram minha Lei; 12E vós fizestes pior que vossos pais; pois eis que vós caminhais cada um atrás da teimosia de seu coração maligno, sem me obedecerem. 13Por isso eu vos lançarei fora desta terra, para uma terra que nem vós nem vossos pais conhecestes; e lá servireis a deuses estrangeiros de dia e de noite, porque não terei misericórdia de vós. 14Porém eis que vêm dias, diz o SENHOR, que não se dirá mais: Vive o SENHOR, que trouxe os filhos de Israel da terra do Egito; 15Mas sim: Vive o SENHOR, que trouxe os filhos de Israel da terra do norte, e de todas as terras aonde ele tinha os lançado; pois eu os farei voltar à sua terra, a qual dei a seus pais. 16Eis que enviarei muitos pescadores, diz o SENHOR, que os pescarão; e depois enviarei muitos caçadores, que os caçarão de todo monte, e de todo morro, e até das fendas das rochas. 17Pois meus olhos estão sobre todos seus caminhos; eles não estão escondidos de mim, nem a maldade deles está oculta de diante de meus olhos. 18Mas primeiro pagarei em dobro a iniquidade e o pecado deles, pois contaminaram minha terra com os cadáveres de suas coisas detestáveis, e encheram minha herança de suas abominações. 19Ó SENHOR, fortaleza minha, e força minha, e meu refúgio no tempo da aflição; a ti virão nações desde os confins da terra, e dirão: Certamente o que nossos pais possuíam era mentira e inutilidade; não havia nessas coisas proveito algum. 20Pode, por acaso, o homem fazer deuses para si? Eles, porém, não são deuses. 21Portanto eis que desta vez lhes farei conhecer, lhes farei conhecer minha mão e meu poder, e saberão que EU-SOU é o meu nome.
1Yahweh’s word came also to me, saying, 2You shall not take a wife, neither shall you have sons or daughters, in this place. 3For thus says Yahweh concerning the sons and concerning the daughters who are born in this place, and concerning their mothers who bore them, and concerning their fathers who became their father in this land: 4They shall die grievous deaths: they shall not be lamented, neither shall they be buried; they shall be as dung on the surface of the ground; and they shall be consumed by the sword, and by famine; and their dead bodies shall be food for the birds of the sky, and for the animals of the earth. 5For thus says Yahweh, Don’t enter into the house of mourning, neither go to lament, neither bemoan them; for I have taken away my peace from this people, says Yahweh, even loving kindness and tender mercies. 6Both great and small shall die in this land; they shall not be buried, neither shall men lament for them, nor cut themselves, nor make themselves bald for them; 7neither shall men break bread for them in mourning, to comfort them for the dead; neither shall men give them the cup of consolation to drink for their father or for their mother. 8You shall not go into the house of feasting to sit with them, to eat and to drink. 9For thus says Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel: Behold, I will cause to cease out of this place, before your eyes and in your days, the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride. 10It shall happen, when you shall show this people all these words, and they shall tell you, Why has Yahweh pronounced all this great evil against us? or what is our iniquity? or what is our sin that we have committed against Yahweh our God? 11Then you shall tell them, Because your fathers have forsaken me, says Yahweh, and have walked after other gods, and have served them, and have worshiped them, and have forsaken me, and have not kept my law; 12and you have done evil more than your fathers; for, behold, you walk every one after the stubbornness of his evil heart, so that you don’t listen to me: 13therefore will I cast you out of this land into the land that you have not known, neither you nor your fathers; and there you shall serve other gods day and night; for I will show you no favor. 14Therefore behold, the days come, says Yahweh, that it shall no more be said, As Yahweh lives, who brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt; 15but, As Yahweh lives, who brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north, and from all the countries where he had driven them. I will bring them again into their land that I gave to their fathers. 16Behold, I will send for many fishermen, says Yahweh, and they shall fish them up; and afterward I will send for many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain, and from every hill, and out of the clefts of the rocks. 17For my eyes are on all their ways; they are not hidden from my face, neither is their iniquity concealed from my eyes. 18First I will recompense their iniquity and their sin double, because they have polluted my land with the carcasses of their detestable things, and have filled my inheritance with their abominations. 19Yahweh, my strength, and my stronghold, and my refuge in the day of affliction, to you shall the nations come from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Our fathers have inherited nothing but lies, vanity and things in which there is no profit. 20Shall a man make to himself gods, which yet are no gods? 21Therefore behold, I will cause them to know, this once will I cause them to know my hand and my might; and they shall know that my name is Yahweh.
1En des HEEREN woord geschiedde tot mij, zeggende: 2Gij zult u geen vrouw nemen, en gij zult geen zonen noch dochteren hebben in deze plaats. 3Want zo zegt de HEERE van de zonen en van de dochteren, die in deze plaats geboren worden; daartoe van hun moeders, die ze baren, en van hun vaders, die ze gewinnen in dit land: 4Zij zullen pijnlijke doden sterven, zij zullen niet beklaagd noch begraven worden, zij zullen tot mest op den aardbodem zijn, en zij zullen door het zwaard en door den honger verteerd worden, en hun dode lichamen zullen het gevogelte des hemels en het gedierte der aarde tot spijze zijn. 5Want zo zegt de HEERE: Ga niet in het huis desgenen, die een rouwmaaltijd houdt, en ga niet henen om te rouwklagen, en heb geen medelijden met hen; want Ik heb van dit volk (spreekt de HEERE) weggenomen Mijn vrede, goedertierenheid en barmhartigheden; 6Zodat groten en kleinen in dit land zullen sterven, zij zullen niet begraven worden; en men zal hen niet beklagen, noch zichzelven insnijden, noch kaal maken om hunnentwil. 7Ook zal men hun niets uitdelen over den rouw, om iemand te troosten over een dode; noch hun te drinken geven uit den troostbeker, over iemands vader of over iemands moeder. 8Ga ook niet in een huis des maaltijds, om bij hen te zitten, om te eten en te drinken. 9Want zo zegt de HEERE der heirscharen, de God Israels: Ziet, Ik zal van deze plaats, voor ulieder ogen en in ulieder dagen, doen ophouden de stem der vreugde en de stem der blijdschap, de stem des bruidegoms en de stem der bruid. 10En het zal geschieden, als gij dit volk al deze woorden zult aanzeggen, en zij tot u zeggen: Waarom spreekt de HEERE al dit grote kwaad over ons, en welke is onze misdaad, en welke is onze zonde, die wij tegen den HEERE, onzen God, gezondigd hebben? 11Dat gij tot hen zult zeggen: Omdat uw vaders Mij verlaten hebben, spreekt de HEERE, en hebben andere goden nagewandeld, en die gediend, en zich voor die nedergebogen; maar Mij verlaten, en Mijn wet niet gehouden hebben; 12En gijlieden erger gedaan hebt dan uw vaderen; want ziet, gijlieden wandelt, een iegelijk naar het goeddunken van zijn boos hart, om naar Mij niet te horen. 13Daarom zal Ik ulieden uit dit land werpen, in een land, dat gij niet gekend hebt, gij noch uw vaders; en aldaar zult gij andere goden dienen, dag en nacht, omdat Ik u geen genade zal geven. 14Daarom, ziet, de dagen komen, spreekt de HEERE, dat er niet meer zal gezegd worden: Zo waarachtig als de HEERE leeft, Die de kinderen Israels uit Egypteland heeft opgevoerd! 15Maar: Zo waarachtig als de HEERE leeft, Die de kinderen Israels heeft opgevoerd uit het land van het noorden, en uit al de landen waarhenen Hij hen gedreven had! want Ik zal hen wederbrengen in hun land, dat Ik hun vaderen gegeven heb. 16Ziet, Ik zal zenden tot veel vissers, spreekt de HEERE, die zullen hen vissen; en daarna zal Ik zenden tot veel jagers, die zullen hen jagen, van op allen berg, en van op allen heuvel, ja, uit de kloven der steenrotsen. 17Want Mijn ogen zijn op al hun wegen; zij zijn voor Mijn aangezicht niet verborgen, noch hun ongerechtigheid verholen van voor Mijn ogen. 18Dies zal Ik eerst hun ongerechtigheid en hun zonde dubbel vergelden, omdat zij Mijn land ontheiligd hebben; zij hebben Mijn erfenis met de dode lichamen hunner verfoeiselen en hunner gruwelen vervuld. 19O HEERE! Gij zijt mijn Sterkte, en mijn Sterkheid, en mijn Toevlucht ten dage der benauwdheid; tot U zullen de heidenen komen van de einden der aarde, en zeggen: Immers hebben onze vaders leugen erfelijk bezeten, en ijdelheid, waarin toch niets was, dat nut deed. 20Zal een mens zich goden maken? Zij zijn toch geen goden. 21Daarom, ziet, Ik zal hun bekend maken op ditmaal; Ik zal hun bekend maken Mijn hand en Mijn macht; en zij zullen weten, dat Mijn Naam is HEERE.
