1Naquele tempo,diz o SENHOR, eu serei o Deus de todas as famílias de Israel, e elas serão o meu povo. 2Assim diz o SENHOR: O povo dos que escaparam da espada encontrou graça no deserto; este é Israel, quando eu o fizer descansar. 3O SENHOR apareceu a mim já há muito tempo, dizendo: Com amor eterno eu tenho te amado; por isso com bondade te sustento. 4Novamente te edificarei, e serás edificada, ó virgem de Israel; novamente serás adornada com teus tamborins, e sairás na dança dos que se alegram. 5Novamente plantarás vinhas nos montes de Samaria; os plantadores plantarão, e delas desfrutarão. 6Pois haverá dia em que os vigilantes no monte de Efraim gritarão: Levantai-vos, e subamos a Sião, ao SENHOR nosso Deus! 7Porque assim diz o SENHOR: Cantai por Jacó com alegria, e jubilai por causa da principal de nações; anunciai, louvai, e dizei: Salva, SENHOR, o teu povo, o restante de Israel. 8Eis que eu os trarei da terra do norte, e os juntarei desde os confins da terra, entre os quais haverá cegos e aleijados, mulheres grávidas e as que tiveram parto juntamente; em grande multidão voltarão para cá. 9Virão com choro, e com suplicações os trarei; e os guiarei a ribeiros de águas, por um caminho plano, em que não tropeçarão; porque sou um pai para Israel, e Efraim é meu primogênito. 10Ouvi a palavra do SENHOR, ó nações, e a anunciai nas terras litorâneas de longe, e dizei: Aquele que espalhou a Israel o juntará e o guardará, tal como um pastor a seu gado. 11Pois o SENHOR resgatou a Jacó, o livrou da mão do mais forte que ele. 12E virão, e jubilarão no lugar alto de Sião, e correrão para o bem do SENHOR: ao trigo, ao suco de uva, ao azeite, e aos cordeiros e bezerros; e a alma deles será como um jardim regado, e nunca mais se enfraquecerão. 13Então a virgem se alegrará na dança, como também os jovens e os velhos juntamente; e tornarei seu pranto em alegria, e os consolarei, e os alegrarei em sua tristeza. 14E encherei a alma dos sacerdotes de fartura, e meu povo será saciado com o meu bem, diz o SENHOR. 15Assim diz o SENHOR: Uma voz foi ouvida em Ramá, lamentação e choro amargo: Raquel chora por seus filhos; não quer ser consolada por causa de seus filhos, pois já não existem. 16Assim diz o SENHOR: Reprime tua voz de choro, e teus olhos de lágrimas; pois há recompensa para teu trabalho, diz o SENHOR, pois voltarão da terra do inimigo. 17E há esperança para o teu futuro,diz o SENHOR, pois os teus filhos voltarão a suas próprias fronteiras. 18De fato ouvi Efraim se queixar, dizendo : Castigaste-me, e fui castigado como um novilho não domado; converte-me e serei convertido; pois tu és o SENHOR meu Deus. 19Pois depois que me desviei, arrependi-me; depois que entendi, golpeei-me na coxa; envergonhei-me, e me senti humilhado, porque levei a vergonha de minha juventude. 20Por acaso não é Efraim um filho precioso para mim? Não é ele um filho do meu agrado? Pois mesmo tendo eu falado contra ele, eu me lembro dele constantemente. Por isso minhas entranhas se comovem por ele; certamente terei compaixão dele,diz o SENHOR. 21Levanta para ti sinais, põe para ti marcos altos; presta atenção à vereda, ao caminho por onde vieste; volta-te, ó virgem de Israel, volta-te para estas tuas cidades. 22Até quando andarás sem rumo, ó filha rebelde? Pois o SENHOR criará uma coisa nova sobre a terra: uma fêmea cercará ao varão. 23Assim diz o SENHOR dos exércitos, Deus de Israel: Novamente dirão esta palavra na terra de Judá e em suas cidades, quando eu os restaurar de seu infortúnio: O SENHOR te abençoe, ó morada de justiça, ó monte santo. 24E nela habitarão Judá, e em todas as suas cidades juntamente: os lavradores, e os que caminham com o rebanho. 25Porque terei saciado a alma cansada, e enchido toda alma entristecida. 26(Nisto me despertei, e olhei; e meu sonho me foi agradável). 27Diz o SENHOR: Eis que vêm dias, em que semearei a casa de Israel e a casa de Judá com semente de homens e com semente de animais. 28E será que, como tive atenção com eles para arrancar e para derrubar, para transtornar para destruir, e afligir, assim terei atenção com eles para edificar e plantar,diz o SENHOR. 29Naqueles dias nunca mais dirão: Os pais comeram uvas verdes, mas foram os dentes dos filhos que se estragaram. 30Ao contrário, cada um morrerá por sua própria maldade; todo homem que comer as uvas verdes estragará seus dentes. 31Eis que vêm dias,diz o SENHOR, em que farei um novo pacto com a casa de Jacó e a casa de Judá; 32Não como o pacto que fiz com seus pais, no dia em que os tomei pela mão para os tirar da terra do Egito; pois invalidaram meu pacto, ainda que eu tenha me casado com eles,diz o SENHOR. 33Mas este é o pacto que farei com a casa de Israel depois daqueles dias,diz o SENHOR: Darei minha lei em seu interior, e a escreverei em seus corações; e eu serei o Deus deles, e eles serão meu povo. 34E não ensinará mais ninguém a seu próximo, nem ninguém a seu irmão, dizendo: Conhece ao SENHOR; pois todos me conhecerão, desde o menor deles até o maior, diz o SENHOR; porque perdoarei a maldade deles, e nunca mais me lembrarei mais de seus pecados. 35Assim diz o SENHOR, que dá o sol para a luz do dia, e as ordenanças da lua e das estrelas para a luz da noite; que divide o mar, e bramam suas ondas; EU-SOU dos exércitos é seu nome: 36Se estas ordenanças se desviarem diante de mim,diz o SENHOR, também a semente de Israel deixará de ser nação diante de mim para sempre. 37Assim diz o SENHOR: Se os céus acima ser medidos, e se podem investigar abaixo os fundamentos da terra, então também eu rejeitarei toda a semente de Israel por tudo quanto fizeram, diz o SENHOR. 38Diz o SENHOR: Eis que vêm dias em que a cidade de Jerusalém será edificada ao SENHOR, desde a torre de Hananeel até a porta da esquina. 39E a linha de medir sairá também diante dela, até sobre à colina de Garebe, e virará ao redor até Goa. 40E todo o vale dos cadáveres e da cinza, e todas os campos até o ribeiro de Cedrom, até a esquina da porta dos cavalos ao oriente, serão consagrados ao SENHOR; nunca mais será arrancada nem derrubada.
1At that time, says Yahweh, will I be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be my people. 2Thus says Yahweh, The people who were left of the sword found favor in the wilderness; even Israel, when I went to cause him to rest. 3Yahweh appeared of old to me, saying, Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love: therefore with loving kindness have I drawn you. 4Again will I build you, and you shall be built, O virgin of Israel: again you shall be adorned with your tambourines, and shall go out in the dances of those who make merry. 5Again you shall plant vineyards on the mountains of Samaria; the planters shall plant, and shall enjoy its fruit. 6For there shall be a day, that the watchmen on the hills of Ephraim shall cry, Arise, and let us go up to Zion to Yahweh our God. 7For thus says Yahweh, Sing with gladness for Jacob, and shout for the chief of the nations: publish, praise, and say, Yahweh, save your people, the remnant of Israel. 8Behold, I will bring them from the north country, and gather them from the uttermost parts of the earth, along with the blind and the lame, the woman with child and her who travails with child together: a great company shall they return here. 9They shall come with weeping; and with petitions will I lead them: I will cause them to walk by rivers of waters, in a straight way in which they shall not stumble; for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn. 10Hear Yahweh’s word, you nations, and declare it in the islands afar off; and say, He who scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd does his flock. 11For Yahweh has ransomed Jacob, and redeemed him from the hand of him who was stronger than he. 12They shall come and sing in the height of Zion, and shall flow to the goodness of Yahweh, to the grain, and to the new wine, and to the oil, and to the young of the flock and of the herd: and their soul shall be as a watered garden; and they shall not sorrow any more at all. 13Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, and the young men and the old together; for I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them, and make them rejoice from their sorrow. 14I will satiate the soul of the priests with fatness, and my people shall be satisfied with my goodness, says Yahweh. 15Thus says Yahweh: A voice is heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping, Rachel weeping for her children; she refuses to be comforted for her children, because they are no more. 16Thus says Yahweh: Refrain your voice from weeping, and your eyes from tears; for your work shall be rewarded, says Yahweh; and they shall come again from the land of the enemy. 17There is hope for your latter end, says Yahweh; and your children shall come again to their own border. 18I have surely heard Ephraim bemoaning himself thus, You have chastised me, and I was chastised, as an untrained calf: turn me, and I shall be turned; for you are Yahweh my God. 19Surely after that I was turned, I repented; and after that I was instructed, I struck on my thigh: I was ashamed, yes, even confounded, because I bore the reproach of my youth. 20Is Ephraim my dear son? is he a darling child? for as often as I speak against him, I do earnestly remember him still: therefore my heart yearns for him; I will surely have mercy on him, says Yahweh. 21Set up road signs, make guideposts; set your heart toward the highway, even the way by which you went: turn again, virgin of Israel, turn again to these your cities. 22How long will you go here and there, you backsliding daughter? for Yahweh has created a new thing in the earth: a woman shall encompass a man. 23Thus says Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, Yet again shall they use this speech in the land of Judah and in its cities, when I shall bring again their captivity: Yahweh bless you, habitation of righteousness, mountain of holiness. 24Judah and all its cities shall dwell therein together, the farmers, and those who go about with flocks. 25For I have satiated the weary soul, and every sorrowful soul have I replenished. 26On this I awakened, and saw; and my sleep was sweet to me. 27Behold, the days come, says Yahweh, that I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of man, and with the seed of animal. 28It shall happen that, like as I have watched over them to pluck up and to break down and to overthrow and to destroy and to afflict, so will I watch over them to build and to plant, says Yahweh. 29In those days they shall say no more, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children’s teeth are set on edge. 30But everyone shall die for his own iniquity: every man who eats the sour grapes, his teeth shall be set on edge. 31Behold, the days come, says Yahweh, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: 32not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they broke, although I was a husband to them, says Yahweh. 33But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says Yahweh: I will put my law in their inward parts, and in their heart will I write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people: 34and they shall teach no more every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know Yahweh; for they shall all know me, from their least to their greatest, says Yahweh: for I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin will I remember no more. 35Thus says Yahweh, who gives the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, who stirs up the sea, so that its waves roar; Yahweh of Armies is his name: 36If these ordinances depart from before me, says Yahweh, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me forever. 37Thus says Yahweh: If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, then I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, says Yahweh. 38Behold, the days come, says Yahweh, that the city shall be built to Yahweh from the tower of Hananel to the gate of the corner. 39The measuring line shall go out further straight onward to the hill Gareb, and shall turn about to Goah. 40The whole valley of the dead bodies and of the ashes, and all the fields to the brook Kidron, to the corner of the horse gate toward the east, shall be holy to Yahweh; it shall not be plucked up, nor thrown down any more forever.
1Ter zelfder tijd, spreekt de HEERE, zal Ik allen geslachten Israels tot een God zijn; en zij zullen Mij tot een volk zijn. 2Zo zegt de HEERE: Het volk der overgeblevenen van het zwaard heeft genade gevonden in de woestijn, namelijk Israel, als Ik henenging om hem tot rust te brengen. 3De HEERE is mij verschenen van verre tijden! Ja, Ik heb u liefgehad met een eeuwige liefde; daarom heb Ik u getrokken met goedertierenheid. 4Ik zal u weder bouwen, en gij zult gebouwd worden, o jonkvrouw Israels! gij zult weder versierd zijn met uw trommelen, en uitgaan met den rei der spelenden. 5Gij zult weder wijngaarden planten op de bergen van Samaria; de planters zullen planten, en de vrucht genieten. 6Want er zal een dag zijn, waarin de hoeders op Efraims gebergte zullen roepen: Maakt ulieden op, en laat ons opgaan naar Sion, tot den HEERE, onzen God! 7Want zo zegt de HEERE: Roept luide over Jakob met vreugde, en juicht vanwege het hoofd der heidenen; doet het horen, lofzingt, en zegt: O HEERE! behoud Uw volk, het overblijfsel van Israel. 8Ziet, Ik zal ze aanbrengen uit het land van het noorden, en zal hen vergaderen van de zijden der aarde; onder hen zullen zijn blinden en lammen, zwangeren en barenden te zamen; met een grote gemeente zullen zij herwaarts wederkomen. 9Zij zullen komen met geween, en met smekingen zal Ik hen voeren; Ik zal hen leiden aan de waterbeken, in een rechten weg, waarin zij zich niet zullen stoten; want Ik ben Israel tot een Vader, en Efraim is Mijn eerstgeborene. 10Hoort des HEEREN woord, gij heidenen! en verkondigt in de eilanden, die verre zijn, en zegt: Hij, Die Israel verstrooid heeft, zal hem weder vergaderen, en hem bewaren als een herder zijn kudde. 11Want de HEERE heeft Jakob vrijgekocht, en Hij heeft hem verlost uit de hand desgenen, die sterker was dan hij. 12Dies zullen zij komen, en op de hoogte van Sion juichen, en toevloeien tot des HEEREN goed, tot het koren, en tot den most, en tot de olie, en tot de jonge schapen en runderen; en hun ziel zal zijn als een gewaterde hof, en zij zullen voortaan niet meer treurig zijn. 13Dan zal zich de jonkvrouw verblijden in den rei, daartoe de jongelingen en ouden te zamen; want Ik zal hunlieder rouw in vrolijkheid veranderen, en zal hen troosten, en zal hen verblijden naar hun droefenis. 14En Ik zal de ziel der priesteren met vettigheid dronken maken; en Mijn volk zal met Mijn goed verzadigd worden, spreekt de HEERE. 15Zo zegt de HEERE: Er is een stem gehoord in Rama, een klage, een zeer bitter geween; Rachel weent over haar kinderen; zij weigert zich te laten troosten over haar kinderen, omdat zij niet zijn. 16Zo zegt de HEERE: Bedwing uw stem van geween, en uw ogen van tranen; want er is loon voor uw arbeid, spreekt de HEERE; want zij zullen uit des vijands land wederkomen. 17En er is verwachting voor uw nakomelingen, spreekt de HEERE; want uw kinderen zullen wederkomen tot hun landpale. 18Ik heb wel gehoord, dat zich Efraim beklaagt, zeggende: Gij hebt mij getuchtigd, en ik ben getuchtigd geworden als een ongewend kalf. Bekeer mij, zo zal ik bekeerd zijn, want Gij zijt de HEERE, mijn God! 19Zekerlijk, nadat ik bekeerd ben, heb ik berouw gehad, en nadat ik mijzelven ben bekend gemaakt, heb ik op de heup geklopt, ik ben beschaamd, ja, ook schaamrood geworden, omdat ik de smaadheid mijner jeugd gedragen heb. 20Is niet Efraim Mij een dierbare zoon, is hij Mij niet een troetelkind? Want sinds Ik tegen hem gesproken heb, denk Ik nog ernstelijk aan hem; daarom rommelt Mijn ingewand over hem; Ik zal Mij zijner zekerlijk ontfermen, spreekt de HEERE. 21Richt u merktekenen op, stel u spitse pilaren, zet uw hart op de baan, op den weg, dien gij gewandeld hebt; keer weder, o jonkvrouw Israels, keer weder tot deze uw steden! 22Hoe lang zult gij u onttrekken, gij afkerige dochter? Want de HEERE heeft wat nieuws op de aarde geschapen: de vrouw zal den man omvangen. 23Zo zegt de HEERE der heirscharen, de God Israels: Dit woord zullen zij nog zeggen in het land van Juda, en in zijn steden, als Ik hun gevangenis wenden zal: De HEERE zegene u, gij woning der gerechtigheid, gij berg der heiligheid! 24En Juda, mitsgaders al zijn steden, zullen te zamen daarin wonen; de akkerlieden, en die met de kudde reizen. 25Want Ik heb de vermoeide ziel dronken gemaakt, en Ik heb alle treurige ziel vervuld. 26(Hierop ontwaakte ik, en zag toe, en mijn slaap was mij zoet.) 27Ziet, de dagen komen, spreekt de HEERE, dat Ik het huis van Israel en het huis van Juda bezaaien zal met zaad van mensen en zaad van beesten. 28En het zal geschieden, gelijk als Ik over hen gewaakt heb, om uit te rukken, en af te breken, en te verstoren, en te verderven, en kwaad aan te doen; alzo zal Ik over hen waken, om te bouwen en te planten, spreekt de HEERE. 29In die dagen zullen zij niet meer zeggen: De vaders hebben onrijpe druiven gegeten, en der kinderen tanden zijn stomp geworden. 30Maar een iegelijk zal om zijn ongerechtigheid sterven; een ieder mens, die de onrijpe druiven eet, zijn tanden zullen stomp worden. 31Ziet, de dagen komen, spreekt de HEERE, dat Ik met het huis van Israel en met het huis van Juda een nieuw verbond zal maken; 32Niet naar het verbond, dat Ik met hun vaderen gemaakt heb, ten dage als Ik hun hand aangreep, om hen uit Egypteland uit te voeren, welk Mijn verbond zij vernietigd hebben, hoewel Ik hen getrouwd had, spreekt de HEERE; 33Maar dit is het verbond, dat Ik na die dagen met het huis van Israel maken zal, spreekt de HEERE: Ik zal Mijn wet in hun binnenste geven, en zal die in hun hart schrijven; en Ik zal hun tot een God zijn, en zij zullen Mij tot een volk zijn. 34En zij zullen niet meer, een iegelijk zijn naaste, en een iegelijk zijn broeder, leren, zeggende: Kent den HEERE! want zij zullen Mij allen kennen, van hun kleinste af tot hun grootste toe, spreekt de HEERE; want Ik zal hun ongerechtigheid vergeven, en hunner zonden niet meer gedenken. 35Zo zegt de HEERE, Die de zon ten lichte geeft des daags, de ordeningen der maan en der sterren ten lichte des nachts, Die de zee klieft, dat haar golven bruisen, HEERE der heirscharen is Zijn Naam: 36Indien deze ordeningen van voor Mijn aangezicht zullen wijken, spreekt de HEERE, zo zal ook het zaad Israels ophouden, dat het geen volk zij voor Mijn aangezicht, al de dagen. 37Zo zegt de HEERE: Indien de hemelen daarboven gemeten, en de fondamenten der aarde beneden doorgrond kunnen worden, zo zal Ik ook het ganse zaad Israels verwerpen, om alles, wat zij gedaan hebben, spreekt de HEERE. 38Ziet, de dagen komen, spreekt de HEERE, dat deze stad den HEERE zal herbouwd worden, van den toren Hananeel af tot aan de Hoekpoort. 39En het meetsnoer zal wijders nevens dezelve uitgaan tot aan den heuvel Gareb, en zich naar Goath omwenden. 40En het ganse dal der dode lichamen en der as, en al de velden tot aan de beek Kidron, tot aan den hoek van de Paardenpoort tegen het oosten, zal den HEERE een heiligheid zijn; er zal niets weder uitgerukt, noch afgebroken worden in eeuwigheid.
