1Ngươi chớ đồn huyễn; chớ hùa cùng kẻ hung ác đặng làm chứng dối. 2Ngươi chớ hùa đảng đông đặng làm quấy; khi ngươi làm chứng trong việc kiện cáo, chớ nên trở theo bên phe đông mà phạm sự công bình. 3Ngươi chớ tư vị kẻ nghèo trong việc kiện cáo. 4Nhược bằng ngươi gặp bò hay lừa của kẻ thù nghịch mình đi lạc thì buộc phải đem về cho họ. 5Ngộ ngươi thấy lừa của kẻ ghét mình bị chở nặng phải quị, chớ khá bỏ ngơ, phải cứu nó cho được nhẹ. 6Trong cơn kiện cáo, ngươi chớ phạm quyền lợi của người nghèo ở giữa vòng ngươi. 7Ngươi phải tránh xa các lời giả dối; chớ giết kẻ vô tội và kẻ công bình, vì ta chẳng hề tha kẻ gian ác đâu. 8Ngươi chớ nhậm của hối lộ, vì của hối lộ làm mờ mắt người thượng trí, và làm mất duyên do của kẻ công bình. 9Ngươi chớ hiếp đáp người ngoại bang, vì các ngươi đã kiều ngụ tại xứ Ê-díp-tô, chính các ngươi hiểu biết lòng khách ngoại bang là thế nào. 10Trải sáu năm ngươi hãy gieo trong đất, thâu lấy hoa lợi, 11nhưng qua năm thứ bảy hãy để đất hoang cho nghỉ; hầu cho kẻ nghèo khổ trong dân sự ngươi được nhờ lấy hoa quả đất đó, còn dư lại bao nhiêu, thú vật ngoài đồng ăn lấy. Cũng hãy làm như vậy về vườn nho và cây ô-li-ve. 12Luôn trong sáu ngày ngươi hãy làm công việc mình, nhưng qua ngày thứ bảy hãy nghỉ, hầu cho bò và lừa ngươi được nghỉ; cùng con trai của đầy tớ gái và người ngoại bang được dưỡng sức lại. 13Ngươi khá giữ hết mọi lời ta phán cùng ngươi. Chớ xưng đến danh các thần khác; chớ cho nghe danh đó ở nơi miệng ngươi ra. 14Mỗi năm ba kỳ ngươi sẽ giữ lễ kính ta. 15Ngươi hãy giữ lễ bánh không men; phải ăn bánh không men trong bảy ngày về mùa tháng lúa trỗ, như lời ta đã phán dặn; vì trong tháng đó ngươi ra khỏi xứ Ê-díp-tô. Lại chẳng ai nên tay không đến trước mặt ta. 16Ngươi hãy giữ lễ mùa màng, tức là mùa hoa quả đầu tiên của công lao ngươi về các giống ngươi đã gieo ngoài đồng; và giữ lễ mùa gặt về lúc cuối năm, khi các ngươi đã hái hoa quả của công lao mình ngoài đồng rồi. 17Mỗi năm ba kỳ các người nam phải đến trước mặt Chúa, tức là Ðức Giê-hô-va. 18Ngươi chớ dâng huyết của con sinh tế ta chung với bánh có pha men; còn mỡ của nó dâng nhằm ngày lễ kính ta, chớ để trọn đêm đến sáng mai. 19Những hoa quả đầu mùa của đất, ngươi phải đem đến đền thờ Giê-hô-va Ðức Chúa Trời ngươi. Ngươi chớ nên nấu dê con trong sữa mẹ nó. 20Ðây nầy, ta sai một thiên sứ đi trước mặt ngươi, đặng phù hộ trong lúc đi đường, và đưa ngươi vào nơi ta đã dự bị. 21Trước mặt người, ngươi khá giữ mình, phải nghe theo lời, chớ nên phản nghịch; người sẽ chẳng tha tội ngươi đâu, vì danh ta ngự trong mình người. 22Nhưng nếu ngươi chăm chỉ nghe lời người, cùng làm theo mọi lời ta sẽ phán, ta sẽ thù nghịch cùng kẻ thù nghịch ngươi, và đối địch với kẻ đối địch ngươi. 23Vì thiên sứ ta sẽ đi trước mắt, đưa ngươi vào xứ của dân A-mô-rít, dân Hê-tít, dân Phê-rê-sít, dân Ca-na-an, dân Hê-vít, và dân Giê-bu-sít, rồi ta sẽ diệt chúng nó. 24Ngươi chớ quì lạy và hầu việc các thần chúng nó; chớ bắt chước công việc họ, nhưng phải diệt hết các thần đó và đạp nát các pho tượng họ đi. 25Ngươi hãy hầu việc Giê-hô-va Ðức Chúa Trời ngươi; Ngài sẽ ban ơn cho vật ăn uống của ngươi và tiêu trừ các bịnh hoạn giữa vòng ngươi. 26Trong xứ ngươi sẽ chẳng có đàn bà sảo thai hay là đàn bà son sẻ. Ta sẽ cho ngươi được trường thọ. 27Ta sẽ sai sự kinh khiếp ta đi trước, hễ ngươi đến dân nào, ta sẽ làm cho dân ấy vỡ chạy lạc đường, và cho kẻ thù nghịch ngươi xây lưng trước mặt ngươi. 28Ta sẽ sai ong lỗ đi trước đánh đuổi dân Hê-vít, dân Ca-na-an, dân Hê-tít khỏi trước mặt ngươi. 29Ta sẽ chẳng đuổi chúng nó đi hết trong một năm đâu, e khi xứ sẽ trở nên đồng vắng, và loài thú rừng sanh sản ra đông, hại ngươi chăng; 30nhưng ta sẽ đuổi chúng nó lần lần khỏi trước mặt ngươi, cho đến chừng nào số ngươi thêm nhiều và có thể cầm đất đó làm sản nghiệp. 31Ta sẽ phân định bờ cõi ngươi từ Biển đỏ chí biển Phi-li-tin, từ đồng vắng đến sông cái; vì ta sẽ giao phú dân đó vào tay ngươi, và ngươi sẽ đuổi chúng nó khỏi mặt mình. 32Ngươi đừng kết giao ước cùng chúng nó, hoặc cùng các thần của chúng nó. 33Họ sẽ chẳng ở trong xứ ngươi đâu, e khi chúng nó xui cho ngươi phạm tội cùng ta mà hầu việc các thần họ chăng; điều đó chắc sẽ thành một cái bẫy cho ngươi vậy.
1“You shall not spread a false report. Don’t join your hand with the wicked to be a malicious witness. 2“You shall not follow a crowd to do evil; neither shall you testify in court to side with a multitude to pervert justice; 3neither shall you favor a poor man in his cause. 4“If you meet your enemy’s ox or his donkey going astray, you shall surely bring it back to him again. 5If you see the donkey of him who hates you fallen down under his burden, don’t leave him, you shall surely help him with it. 6“You shall not deny justice to your poor people in their lawsuits. 7“Keep far from a false charge, and don’t kill the innocent and righteous: for I will not justify the wicked. 8“You shall take no bribe, for a bribe blinds those who have sight and perverts the words of the righteous. 9“You shall not oppress an alien, for you know the heart of an alien, since you were aliens in the land of Egypt. 10“For six years you shall sow your land, and shall gather in its increase, 11but the seventh year you shall let it rest and lie fallow, that the poor of your people may eat; and what they leave the animal of the field shall eat. In the same way, you shall deal with your vineyard and with your olive grove. 12“Six days you shall do your work, and on the seventh day you shall rest, that your ox and your donkey may have rest, and the son of your handmaid, and the alien may be refreshed. 13“Be careful to do all things that I have said to you; and don’t invoke the name of other gods, neither let them be heard out of your mouth. 14“You shall observe a feast to me three times a year. 15You shall observe the feast of unleavened bread. Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread, as I commanded you, at the time appointed in the month Abib (for in it you came out of Egypt), and no one shall appear before me empty. 16And the feast of harvest, the first fruits of your labors, which you sow in the field; and the feast of ingathering, at the end of the year, when you gather in your labors out of the field. 17Three times in the year all your males shall appear before the Lord Yahweh. 18“You shall not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leavened bread, neither shall the fat of my feast remain all night until the morning. 19The first of the first fruits of your ground you shall bring into the house of Yahweh your God. “You shall not boil a young goat in its mother’s milk. 20“Behold, I send an angel before you, to keep you by the way, and to bring you into the place which I have prepared. 21Pay attention to him, and listen to his voice. Don’t provoke him, for he will not pardon your disobedience, for my name is in him. 22But if you indeed listen to his voice, and do all that I speak, then I will be an enemy to your enemies, and an adversary to your adversaries. 23For my angel shall go before you, and bring you in to the Amorite, the Hittite, the Perizzite, the Canaanite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite; and I will cut them off. 24You shall not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor follow their practices, but you shall utterly overthrow them and demolish their pillars. 25You shall serve Yahweh your God, and he will bless your bread and your water, and I will take sickness away from your midst. 26No one will miscarry or be barren in your land. I will fulfill the number of your days. 27I will send my terror before you, and will confuse all the people to whom you come, and I will make all your enemies turn their backs to you. 28I will send the hornet before you, which will drive out the Hivite, the Canaanite, and the Hittite, from before you. 29I will not drive them out from before you in one year, lest the land become desolate, and the animals of the field multiply against you. 30Little by little I will drive them out from before you, until you have increased and inherit the land. 31I will set your border from the Red Sea even to the sea of the Philistines, and from the wilderness to the River; for I will deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hand, and you shall drive them out before you. 32You shall make no covenant with them, nor with their gods. 33They shall not dwell in your land, lest they make you sin against me, for if you serve their gods, it will surely be a snare to you.”
1Gij zult geen vals gerucht opnemen; en stelt uw hand niet bij den goddeloze, om een getuige tot geweld te zijn. 2Gij zult de menigte tot boze zaken niet volgen; en gij zult niet spreken in een twistige zaak, dat gij u neigt naar de menigte, om het recht te buigen. 3Ook zult gij den geringe niet voortrekken en zijn twistige zaak. 4Wanneer gij uw vijands os, of zijn dwalenden ezel, ontmoet, gij zult hem denzelven ganselijk wederbrengen. 5Wanneer gij uws haters ezel onder zijn last ziet liggen, zult gij dan nalatig zijn, om het uwe te verlaten voor hem? Gij zult het in alle manier met hem verlaten. 6Gij zult het recht uws armen niet buigen in zijn twistige zaak. 7Zijt verre van valse zaken; en den onschuldige en gerechtige zult gij niet doden; want Ik zal de goddeloze niet rechtvaardigen. 8Ook zult gij geen geschenk nemen; want het geschenk verblindt de zienden, en het verkeert de zaak der rechtvaardigen. 9Gij zult ook den vreemdeling niet onderdrukken; want gij kent het gemoed des vreemdelings, dewijl gij vreemdelingen geweest zijt in Egypteland. 10Gij zult ook zes jaar uw land bezaaien, en deszelfs inkomst verzamelen; 11Maar in het zevende zult gij het rusten en stil liggen laten, dat de armen uws volks mogen eten, en het overige daarvan de beesten des velds eten mogen; alzo zult gij ook doen met uw wijngaard, en met uw olijfbomen. 12Zes dagen zult gij uw werken doen; maar op den zevenden dag zult gij rusten; opdat uw os en uw ezel ruste, en dat de zoon uwer dienstmaagd en de vreemdeling adem scheppe. 13In alles, wat Ik tot ulieden gezegd heb, zult gij op uw hoede zijn; en den naam van andere goden zult gij niet gedenken; uit uw mond zal hij niet gehoord worden! 14Drie reizen in het jaar zult gij Mij feest houden. 15Het feest van de ongezuurde broden zult gij houden; zeven dagen zult gij ongezuurde broden eten (gelijk Ik u geboden heb), ter bestemder tijd in de maand Abib, want in dezelve zijt gij uit Egypte getogen; doch men zal niet ledig voor Mijn aangezicht verschijnen. 16En het feest des oogstes, der eerste vruchten van uw arbeid, die gij op het veld gezaaid zult hebben. Gij zult het bokje niet koken in de melk zijner moeder. 20Ziet, Ik zende een Engel voor uw aangezicht, om u te behoeden op dezen weg, en om u te brengen tot de plaats, die Ik bereid heb. 21Hoedt u voor Zijn aangezicht, en weest Zijner stem gehoorzaam, en verbittert Hem niet; want Hij zal ulieder overtredingen niet vergeven; want Mijn Naam is in het binnenste van Hem. 22Maar zo gij Zijner stem naarstiglijk gehoorzaamt, en doet al wat Ik spreken zal, zo zal Ik uwer vijanden vijand, en uwer wederpartijders wederpartij zijn. 23Want Mijn Engel zal voor uw aangezicht gaan, en Hij zal u inbrengen tot de Amorieten, en Hethieten, en Ferezieten, en Kanaanieten, Hevieten, en Jebusieten; en Ik zal hen verdelgen. 24Gij zult u voor hun goden niet buigen, noch hen dienen; ook zult gij naar hun werken niet doen; maar gij zult ze geheel afbreken, en hun opgerichte beelden ganselijk vermorzelen. 25En gij zult den HEERE uw God dienen, zo zal Hij uw brood en uw water zegenen; en Ik zal de krankheden uit het midden van u weren. 26Er zal geen misdrachtige, noch onvruchtbare in uw land zijn; Ik zal het getal uwer dagen vervullen. 27Ik zal Mijn schrik voor uw aangezicht zenden, en al het volk, tot hetwelk gij komt, versaagd maken; en Ik zal maken, dat al uw vijanden u den nek toekeren. 28Ik zal ook horzelen voor uw aangezicht zenden; die zullen van voor uw aangezicht uitstoten de Hevieten, de Kanaanieten en de Hethieten. 29Ik zal hen in een jaar van uw aangezicht niet uitstoten, opdat het land niet woest worde, en het wild gedierte boven u niet vermenigvuldigd worde. 30Ik zal hen allengskens van uw aangezicht uitstoten, totdat gij gewassen zijt en het land erft. 31En Ik zal uw landpalen zetten van de zee Suf tot aan de zee der Filistijnen, en van de woestijn tot aan de rivier; want Ik zal de inwoners van dat land in uw hand geven, dat gij hen voor uw aangezicht uitstoot. 32Gij zult met hen, noch met hun goden, een verbond maken. 33Zij zullen in uw land niet wonen, opdat zij u tegen Mij niet doen zondigen; indien gij hun goden dient, het zal u voorzeker tot een valstrik zijn.
