1Ðoạn, Môi-se và dân Y-sơ-ra-ên hát bài ca nầy cho Ðức Giê-hô-va, rằng: Tôi ca tụng Ðức Giê-hô-va, vì Ngài rất vinh hiển oai nghiêm. Ngài đã liệng xuống biển ngựa và người cỡi ngựa. 2Ðức Giê-hô-va là sức mạnh và sự ca tụng của tôi: Ngài đã trở nên Ðấng cứu tôi. Ngài là Ðức Chúa Trời tôi, tôi ngợi khen Ngài; Ðức Chúa Trời của tổ phụ tôi, tôi tôn kính Ngài. 3Ðức Giê-hô-va là một chiến sĩ; Danh Ngài là Giê-hô-va. 4Ngài đã ném xuống biển binh xa Pha-ra-ôn và cả đạo binh của người; Quan tướng kén chọn của người đã bị đắm nơi Biển đỏ, 5Những lượn sóng đã vùi lấp họ rồi; Họ chìm đến đáy biển như một hòn đá vậy. 6Hỡi Ðức Giê-hô-va! Tay hữu Ngài có sức mạnh vinh hiển thay. Hỡi Ðức Giê-hô-va! Tay hữu Ngài hủy quân nghịch tan đi. 7Bởi sự cả thể của oai nghiêm Ngài, Ðánh đổ kẻ dấy nghịch cùng mình. Ngài nổi giận phừng phừng, Ðốt họ cháy như rơm ra. 8Lỗ mũi Ngài thở hơi ra, nước bèn dồn lại, Lượn sóng đổ dựng như một bờ đê; Vực sâu đọng lại nơi rún biển. 9Quân nghịch rằng: Ta đuổi theo, ta sẽ đuổi kịp Ta sẽ chia phân của giặc; Tâm hồn ta sẽ thỏa nguyện nơi họ; Ta rút gươm ra, tay ta hủy diệt họ. 10Ngài đã thở hơi ra Biển vùi lấp quân nghịch lại; Họ bị chìm như cục chì Nơi đáy nước sâu. 11Hỡi Ðức Giê-hô-va! trong vòng các thần, ai giống như Ngài? Trong sự thánh khiết, ai được vinh hiển như Ngài. Ðáng sợ, đáng khen Hay làm các phép lạ? 12Ngài đã đưa tay hữu ra, Ðất đã nuốt chúng nó. 13Ngài lấy lòng thương xót dìu dắt Dân nầy mà Ngài đã chuộc lại; Ngài đã dùng năng lực đưa nó Về nơi ở thánh của Ngài. 14Các dân tộc nghe biết việc nầy đều run sợ, Cơn kinh hãi áp-hãm dân xứ Pha-lê-tin. 15Các quan trưởng xứ Ê-đôm bèn lấy làm bối rối; Mấy mặt anh hùng nơi Mô-áp đều kinh hồn; Cả dân Ca-na-an đều mất vía 16Sự hoảng hốt kinh hãi giáng cho chúng nó; Hỡi Ðức Giê-hô-va! vì quyền cao nơi cánh tay Ngài, Chúng nó đều bị câm như đá, Cho đến chừng nào dân Ngài vượt qua; Cho đến khi dân mà Ngài đã chuộc, vượt qua rồi. 17Hỡi Ðức Giê-hô-va! Ngài đưa dân ấy vào, và lập nơi núi cơ nghiệp Ngài, Tức là chốn Ngài đã sắm sẵn, để làm nơi ở của Ngài, Hỡi Chúa! là đền thánh mà tay Ngài đã lập. 18Ðức Giê-hô-va sẽ cai trị đời đời kiếp kiếp. 19Vì ngựa của Pha-ra-ôn, binh xa, cùng lính kỵ người đã xuống biển; Và Ðức Giê-hô-va đã vùi dập nước biển lên trên, Nhưng dân Y-sơ-ra-ên đi giữa biển như đi trên đất cạn. 20Nữ tiên tri Mi-ri-am, là em gái A-rôn, tay cầm trống cơm, các đàn bà đều đi ra theo người, cầm trống cơm và múa. 21Mi-ri-am đáp lại rằng: Hãy ca tụng Ðức Giê-hô-va, vì Ngài rất vinh hiển oai nghiêm; Ngài đã liệng xuống biển ngựa và người cỡi ngựa. 22Ðoạn, Môi-se đem dân Y-sơ-ra-ên đi khỏi Biển đỏ, đến nơi đồng vắng Su-rơ; trọn ba ngày đi trong đồng vắng, kiếm chẳng được nước đâu cả. 23Kế đến đất Ma-ra, nhưng vì nước tại đó đắng, uống chẳng được, nên chi chỗ nầy gọi là Ma-ra. 24Dân sự bèn oán trách Môi-se rằng: Chúng tôi lấy chi uống? 25Môi-se kêu van Ðức Giê-hô-va; Ngài bèn chỉ cho người một cây gỗ, người lấy liệng xuống nước, nước bèn hóa ra ngọt. Ấy tại đó, Ðức Giê-hô-va định luật lệ cùng lập pháp độ cho dân sự, và tại đó Ngài thử họ. 26Ngài phán rằng: Nếu ngươi chăm chỉ nghe lời Giê-hô-va Ðức Chúa Trời ngươi, làm sự ngay thẳng trước mặt Ngài, lắng tai nghe các điều răn và giữ mọi luật lệ Ngài, thì ta chẳng giáng cho ngươi một trong các bịnh nào mà ta đã giáng cho xứ Ê-díp-tô; vì ta là Ðức Giê-hô-va, Ðấng chữa bịnh cho ngươi. 27Ðoạn, dân sự đến đất Ê-lim; nơi đó có mười hai suối nước, và bảy mươi cây chà là; dân sự đóng trại tại đó, gần bên suối nước.
1Then Moses and the children of Israel sang this song to Yahweh, and said, “I will sing to Yahweh, for he has triumphed gloriously. The horse and his rider he has thrown into the sea. 2Yah is my strength and song. He has become my salvation. This is my God, and I will praise him; my father’s God, and I will exalt him. 3Yahweh is a man of war. Yahweh is his name. 4He has cast Pharaoh’s chariots and his army into the sea. His chosen captains are sunk in the Red Sea. 5The deeps cover them. They went down into the depths like a stone. 6Your right hand, Yahweh, is glorious in power. Your right hand, Yahweh, dashes the enemy in pieces. 7In the greatness of your excellency, you overthrow those who rise up against you. You send out your wrath. It consumes them as stubble. 8With the blast of your nostrils, the waters were piled up. The floods stood upright as a heap. The deeps were congealed in the heart of the sea. 9The enemy said, ‘I will pursue. I will overtake. I will divide the plunder. My desire shall be satisfied on them. I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them.’ 10You blew with your wind. The sea covered them. They sank like lead in the mighty waters. 11Who is like you, Yahweh, among the gods? Who is like you, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders? 12You stretched out your right hand. The earth swallowed them. 13“You, in your loving kindness, have led the people that you have redeemed. You have guided them in your strength to your holy habitation. 14The peoples have heard. They tremble. Pangs have taken hold on the inhabitants of Philistia. 15Then the chiefs of Edom were dismayed. Trembling takes hold of the mighty men of Moab. All the inhabitants of Canaan are melted away. 16Terror and dread falls on them. By the greatness of your arm they are as still as a stone— until your people pass over, Yahweh, until the people pass over who you have purchased. 17You shall bring them in, and plant them in the mountain of your inheritance, the place, Yahweh, which you have made for yourself to dwell in; the sanctuary, Lord, which your hands have established. 18Yahweh shall reign forever and ever.” 19For the horses of Pharaoh went in with his chariots and with his horsemen into the sea, and Yahweh brought back the waters of the sea on them; but the children of Israel walked on dry land in the midst of the sea. 20Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a tambourine in her hand; and all the women went out after her with tambourines and with dances. 21Miriam answered them, “Sing to Yahweh, for he has triumphed gloriously. The horse and his rider he has thrown into the sea.” 22Moses led Israel onward from the Red Sea, and they went out into the wilderness of Shur; and they went three days in the wilderness, and found no water. 23When they came to Marah, they couldn’t drink from the waters of Marah, for they were bitter. Therefore its name was called Marah. 24The people murmured against Moses, saying, “What shall we drink?” 25Then he cried to Yahweh. Yahweh showed him a tree, and he threw it into the waters, and the waters were made sweet. There he made a statute and an ordinance for them, and there he tested them; 26and he said, “If you will diligently listen to Yahweh your God’s voice, and will do that which is right in his eyes, and will pay attention to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you, which I have put on the Egyptians; for I am Yahweh who heals you.” 27They came to Elim, where there were twelve springs of water, and seventy palm trees: and they encamped there by the waters.

Uw rechterhand is verheerlijkt geworden in macht; Uw rechterhand, o HEERE! heeft den vijand verbroken! 7En door Uw grote hoogheid hebt Gij, die tegen U opstonden, omgeworpen; Gij hebt Uw brandenden toorn uitgezonden, die hen verteerd heeft als een stoppel. 8En door het geblaas van Uw neus zijn de wateren opgehoopt geworden; de stromen hebben overeind gestaan, als een hoop; de afgronden zijn stof geworden in het hart der zee. 9De vijand zeide: Ik zal vervolgen, ik zal achterhalen, ik zal den buit delen, mijn ziel zal van hen vervuld worden, ik zal mijn zwaard uittrekken, mijn hand zal hen uitroeien. 10Gij hebt met Uw wind geblazen; de zee heeft hen gedekt, zij zonken onder als lood in geweldige wateren! 11O HEERE! wie is als Gij onder de goden? wie is als Gij, verheerlijkt in heiligheid, vreselijk in lofzangen, doende wonder? 12Gij hebt Uw rechterhand uitgestrekt, de aarde heeft hen verslonden! 13Gij leiddet door Uw weldadigheid dit volk, dat Gij verlost hebt; Gij voert hen zachtkens door Uw sterkte tot de liefelijke woning Uwer heiligheid. 14De volken hebben het gehoord, zij zullen sidderen; weedom heeft de ingezetenen van Palestina bevangen. 15Dan zullen de vorsten van Edom verbaasd wezen; beving zal de machtigen der Moabieten bevangen; al de ingezetenen van Kanaan zullen versmelten! 16Verschrikking en vrees zal op hen vallen; door de grootheid van Uw arm zullen zij verstommen, als een steen, totdat Uw volk, HEERE! henen doorkome; totdat dit volk henen doorkome, dat Gij verworven hebt. 17Die zult Gij inbrengen, en planten hen op den berg Uwer erfenis, ter plaatse, welke Gij, o HEERE! gemaakt hebt tot Uw woning, het heiligdom, hetwelk Uw handen gesticht hebben, o HEERE! 18De HEERE zal in eeuwigheid en geduriglijk regeren! 19Want Farao's paard, met zijn wagen, met zijn ruiters, zijn in de zee gekomen, en de HEERE heeft de wateren der zee over hen doen wederkeren; maar de kinderen Israels zijn op het droge in het midden van de zee gegaan. 20En Mirjam, de profetes, Aarons zuster, nam een trommel in haar hand; en al de vrouwen gingen uit, haar na, met trommelen en met reien. 21Toen antwoordde Mirjam hunlieden: Zingt den HEERE; want Hij is hogelijk verheven! Hij heeft het paard met zijn ruiter in de zee gestort! 22Hierna deed Mozes de Israelieten voortreizen van de Schelfzee af; en zij trokken uit tot in de woestijn Sur, en zij gingen drie dagen in de woestijn, en vonden geen water. 23Toen kwamen zij te Mara; doch zij konden het water van Mara niet drinken, want het was bitter; daarom werd derzelver naam genoemd Mara. 24Toen murmureerde het volk tegen Mozes, zeggende: Wat zullen wij drinken? 25Hij dan riep tot den HEERE; en de HEERE wees hem een hout, dat wierp hij in dat water; toen werd het water zoet. Aldaar stelde Hij het volk een inzetting en recht, en aldaar verzocht Hij hetzelve, 26En zeide: Is het, dat gij met ernst naar de stem des HEEREN uws Gods horen zult, en doen, wat recht is in Zijn ogen, en uw oren neigt tot Zijn geboden, en houdt al Zijn inzettingen; zo zal Ik geen van de krankheden op u leggen, die Ik op Egypteland gelegd heb; want Ik ben de HEERE, uw Heelmeester! 27Toen kwamen zij te Elim, en daar waren twaalf waterfonteinen, en zeventig palmbomen; en zij legerden zich aldaar aan de wateren.
