1I sacerdoti levitici, tutta quanta la tribù di Levi, non avranno parte né eredità con Israele; vivranno dei sacrifizi fatti mediante il fuoco all’Eterno, e della eredità di lui. 2Non avranno, dico, alcuna eredità tra i loro fratelli; l’Eterno è la loro eredità, com’egli ha detto loro. 3Or questo sarà il diritto de’ sacerdoti sul popolo, su quelli che offriranno come sacrifizio sia un bue sia una pecora: essi daranno al sacerdote la spalla, le mascelle e il ventricolo. 4Gli darai le primizie del tuo frumento, del tuo mosto e del tuo olio, e le primizie della tosatura delle tue pecore; 5poiché l’Eterno, il tuo Dio, l’ha scelto fra tutte le tue tribù, perché si presentino a fare il servizio nel nome dell’Eterno, egli e i suoi figliuoli, in perpetuo. 6E quando un Levita, partendo da una qualunque delle città dove soggiorna in Israele, verrà, seguendo il pieno desiderio del suo cuore, al luogo che l’Eterno avrà scelto, 7e farà il servizio nel nome dell’Eterno, del tuo Dio, come tutti i suoi fratelli Leviti che stanno quivi davanti all’Eterno, 8egli riceverà, per il suo mantenimento, una parte uguale a quella degli altri, oltre quello che gli può venire dalla vendita del suo patrimonio. 9Quando sarai entrato nel paese che l’Eterno, l’Iddio tuo, ti dà, non imparerai a imitare le abominazioni delle nazioni che son quivi. 10Non si trovi in mezzo a te chi faccia passare il suo figliuolo o la sua figliuola per il fuoco, né chi eserciti la divinazione, né pronosticatore, né augure, né mago, 11né incantatore, né chi consulti gli spiriti, né chi dica la buona fortuna, né negromante; 12perché chiunque fa queste cose è in abominio all’Eterno; e, a motivo di queste abominazioni, l’Eterno, il tuo Dio, sta per cacciare quelle nazioni d’innanzi a te. 13Tu sarai integro verso l’Eterno, l’Iddio tuo; 14poiché quelle nazioni, del cui paese tu vai ad impossessarti, dànno ascolto ai pronosticatori e agl’indovini; ma, quanto a te, l’Eterno, il tuo Dio, ha disposto altrimenti. 15L’Eterno, il tuo Dio, ti susciterà un profeta come me, in mezzo a te, d’infra i tuoi fratelli; a quello darete ascolto! 16Avrai così per l’appunto quello che chiedesti all’Eterno, al tuo Dio, in Horeb, il giorno della raunanza, quando dicesti: "Ch’io non oda più la voce dell’Eterno, dell’Iddio mio, e non vegga più questo gran fuoco, ond’io non muoia". 17E l’Eterno mi disse: "Quello che han detto, sta bene; 18io susciterò loro un profeta come te, di mezzo ai loro fratelli, e porrò le mie parole nella sua bocca, ed egli dirà loro tutto quello che io gli comanderò. 19E avverrà che se qualcuno non darà ascolto alle mie parole ch’egli dirà in mio nome, io gliene domanderò conto. 20Ma il profeta che avrà la presunzione di dire in mio nome qualcosa ch’io non gli abbia comandato di dire o che parlerà in nome di altri dèi, quel profeta sarà punito di morte". 21E se tu dici in cuor tuo: "Come riconosceremo la parola che l’Eterno non ha detta?" 22Quando il profeta parlerà in nome dell’Eterno, e la cosa non succede e non si avvera, quella sarà una parola che l’Eterno non ha detta; il profeta l’ha detta per presunzione; tu non lo temere.
1The priests the Levites, all the tribe of Levi, shall have no portion nor inheritance with Israel. They shall eat the offerings of Yahweh made by fire and his portion. 2They shall have no inheritance among their brothers. Yahweh is their inheritance, as he has spoken to them. 3This shall be the priests’ due from the people, from those who offer a sacrifice, whether it be ox or sheep, that they shall give to the priest the shoulder, the two cheeks, and the inner parts. 4The first fruits of your grain, of your new wine, and of your oil, and the first of the fleece of your sheep, you shall give him. 5For Yahweh your God has chosen him out of all your tribes, to stand to minister in Yahweh’s name, him and his sons for ever. 6If a Levite comes from any of your gates out of all Israel, where he lives as a foreigner, and comes with all the desire of his soul to the place which Yahweh shall choose; 7then he shall minister in the name of Yahweh his God, as all his brothers the Levites do, who stand there before Yahweh. 8They shall have like portions to eat, in addition to that which comes from the sale of his family possessions. 9When you have come into the land which Yahweh your God gives you, you shall not learn to imitate the abominations of those nations. 10There shall not be found with you anyone who makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices sorcery, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer, 11or a charmer, or a consulter with a familiar spirit, or a wizard, or a necromancer. 12For whoever does these things is an abomination to Yahweh. Because of these abominations, Yahweh your God drives them out from before you. 13You shall be perfect with Yahweh your God. 14For these nations that you shall dispossess listen to those who practice sorcery and to diviners; but as for you, Yahweh your God has not allowed you so to do. 15Yahweh your God will raise up to you a prophet from your midst, of your brothers, like me. You shall listen to him. 16This is according to all that you desired of Yahweh your God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, “Let me not hear again the voice of Yahweh my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I not die.” 17Yahweh said to me, “They have well said that which they have spoken. 18I will raise them up a prophet from among their brothers, like you. I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I shall command him. 19It shall happen, that whoever will not listen to my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him. 20But the prophet who speaks a word presumptuously in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die.” 21You may say in your heart, “How shall we know the word which Yahweh has not spoken?” 22When a prophet speaks in Yahweh’s name, if the thing doesn’t follow, nor happen, that is the thing which Yahweh has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously. You shall not be afraid of him.
1De Levietische priesteren, de ganse stam van Levi, zullen geen deel noch erve hebben met Israel; de vuuroffers des HEEREN en zijn erfdeel zullen zij eten. 2Daarom zal hij geen erfdeel hebben in het midden zijner broederen; de HEERE is zijn Erfdeel, gelijk als Hij tot hem gesproken heeft. 3Dit nu zal het recht der priesters zijn van het volk, van hen, die een offerande offeren, hetzij een os, of klein vee: dat hij den priester zal geven den schouder, en beide kinnebakken, en de pens. 4De eerstelingen van uw koren, van uw most en van uw olie, en de eerstelingen van de beschering uwer schapen zult gij hem geven; 5Want de HEERE, uw God, heeft hem uit al uw stammen verkoren, dat hij sta, om te dienen in den Naam des HEEREN, hij en zijn zonen, te allen dage. 6Voorts wanneer een Leviet zal komen uit een uwer poorten, uit gans Israel, alwaar hij woont, en hij komt naar alle begeerte zijner ziel, tot de plaats, die de HEERE zal hebben verkoren; 7En hij dienen zal in den Naam des HEEREN, zijns Gods, als al zijn broederen, de Levieten, die aldaar voor het aangezicht des HEEREN staan; 8Zo zullen zij een gelijk deel eten, boven zijn verkoping bij de vaderen. 9Wanneer gij komt in het land, dat de HEERE, uw God, u geven zal, zo zult gij niet leren te doen naar de gruwelen van dezelve volken. 10Onder u zal niet gevonden worden, die zijn zoon of zijn dochter door het vuur doet doorgaan, die met waarzeggerijen omgaat, een guichelaar, of die op vogelgeschrei acht geeft, of tovenaar. 11Of een bezweerder, die met bezwering omgaat, of die een waarzeggenden geest vraagt, of een duivelskunstenaar, of die de doden vraagt. 12Want al wie zulks doet, is den HEERE een gruwel; en om dezer gruwelen wil verdrijft hen de HEERE, uw God, voor uw aangezicht uit de bezitting. 13Oprecht zult gij zijn met den HEERE, uw God. 14Want deze volken, die gij zult erven, horen naar guichelaars en waarzeggers; maar u aangaande, de HEERE, uw God, heeft u zulks niet toegelaten. 15Een Profeet, uit het midden van u, uit uw broederen, als mij, zal u de HEERE, uw God, verwekken; naar Hem zult gij horen; 16Naar alles, wat gij van den HEERE, uw God, aan Horeb, ten dage der verzameling, geeist hebt, zeggende: Ik zal niet voortvaren te horen de stem des HEEREN, mijns Gods, en ditzelve grote vuur zal ik niet meer zien, dat ik niet sterve. 17Toen zeide de HEERE tot mij: Het is goed, wat zij gesproken hebben. 18Een Profeet zal Ik hun verwekken uit het midden hunner broederen, als u; en Ik zal Mijn woorden in Zijn mond geven, en Hij zal tot hen spreken alles, wat Ik Hem gebieden zal. 19En het zal geschieden, de man, die niet zal horen naar Mijn woorden, die Hij in Mijn Naam zal spreken, van dien zal Ik het zoeken. 20Maar de profeet, die hoogmoediglijk zal handelen, sprekende een woord in Mijn Naam, hetwelk Ik hem niet geboden heb te spreken, of die spreken zal in den naam van andere goden, dezelve profeet zal sterven. 21Zo gij dan in uw hart zoudt mogen zeggen: Hoe zullen wij het woord kennen, dat de HEERE niet gesproken heeft? 22Wanneer die profeet in den Naam des HEEREN zal hebben gesproken, en dat woord geschiedt niet, en komt niet; dat is het woord, dat de HEERE niet gesproken heeft; door trotsheid heeft die profeet dat gesproken; gij zult voor hem niet vrezen.
