1Et toi, fils de l’homme, prends une brique, place-la devant toi, et tu y traceras une ville, Jérusalem. 2Représente-la en état de siège, forme des retranchements, élève contre elle des terrasses, environne-la d’un camp, dresse contre elle des béliers tout autour. 3Prends une poêle de fer, et mets-la comme un mur de fer entre toi et la ville ; dirige ta face contre elle, et elle sera assiégée, et tu l’assiégeras. Que ce soit là un signe pour la maison d’Israël ! 4Puis couche-toi sur le côté gauche, mets-y l’iniquité de la maison d’Israël, et tu porteras leur iniquité autant de jours que tu seras couché sur ce côté. 5Je te compterai un nombre de jours égal à celui des années de leur iniquité, trois cent quatre-vingt-dix jours ; tu porteras ainsi l’iniquité de la maison d’Israël. 6Quand tu auras achevé ces jours, couche-toi sur le côté droit, et tu porteras l’iniquité de la maison de Juda pendant quarante jours ; je t’impose un jour pour chaque année. 7Tu tourneras ta face et ton bras nu vers Jérusalem assiégée, et tu prophétiseras contre elle. 8Et voici, je mettrai des cordes sur toi, afin que tu ne puisses pas te tourner d’un côté sur l’autre, jusqu’à ce que tu aies accompli les jours de ton siège. 9Prends du froment, de l’orge, des fèves, des lentilles, du millet et de l’épeautre, mets-les dans un vase, et fais-en du pain autant de jours que tu seras couché sur le côté ; tu en mangeras pendant trois cent quatre-vingt-dix jours. 10La nourriture que tu mangeras sera du poids de vingt sicles par jour ; tu en mangeras de temps à autre. 11L’eau que tu boiras aura la mesure d’un sixième de hin ; tu boiras de temps à autre. 12Tu mangeras des gâteaux d’orge, que tu feras cuire en leur présence avec des excréments humains. 13Et l’Éternel dit : C’est ainsi que les enfants d’Israël mangeront leur pain souillé, parmi les nations vers lesquelles je les chasserai. 14Je dis : Ah ! Seigneur Éternel, voici, mon âme n’a point été souillée ; depuis ma jeunesse jusqu’à présent, je n’ai pas mangé d’une bête morte ou déchirée, et aucune chair impure n’est entrée dans ma bouche. 15Il me répondit : Voici, je te donne des excréments de bœuf au lieu d’excréments humains, et tu feras ton pain dessus. 16Il me dit encore : Fils de l’homme, je vais briser le bâton du pain à Jérusalem ; ils mangeront du pain au poids et avec angoisse, et ils boiront de l’eau à la mesure et avec épouvante. 17Ils manqueront de pain et d’eau, ils seront stupéfaits les uns et les autres, et frappés de langueur pour leur iniquité.
1You also, son of man, take a tile, and lay it before yourself, and portray on it a city, even Jerusalem: 2and lay siege against it, and build forts against it, and cast up a mound against it; set camps also against it, and plant battering rams against it all around. 3Take for yourself an iron pan, and set it for a wall of iron between you and the city: and set your face toward it, and it shall be besieged, and you shall lay siege against it. This shall be a sign to the house of Israel. 4Moreover lie on your left side, and lay the iniquity of the house of Israel on it; according to the number of the days that you shall lie on it, you shall bear their iniquity. 5For I have appointed the years of their iniquity to be to you a number of days, even three hundred ninety days: so you shall bear the iniquity of the house of Israel. 6Again, when you have accomplished these, you shall lie on your right side, and shall bear the iniquity of the house of Judah: forty days, each day for a year, have I appointed it to you. 7You shall set your face toward the siege of Jerusalem, with your arm uncovered; and you shall prophesy against it. 8Behold, I lay bands on you, and you shall not turn you from one side to the other, until you have accomplished the days of your siege. 9Take for yourself also wheat, and barley, and beans, and lentils, and millet, and spelt, and put them in one vessel, and make bread of it; according to the number of the days that you shall lie on your side, even three hundred ninety days, you shall eat of it. 10Your food which you shall eat shall be by weight, twenty shekels a day: from time to time you shall eat it. 11You shall drink water by measure, the sixth part of a hin: from time to time you shall drink. 12You shall eat it as barley cakes, and you shall bake it in their sight with dung that comes out of man. 13Yahweh said, Even thus shall the children of Israel eat their bread unclean, among the nations where I will drive them. 14Then I said, Ah Lord Yahweh! behold, my soul has not been polluted; for from my youth up even until now have I not eaten of that which dies of itself, or is torn of animals; neither came there abominable flesh into my mouth. 15Then he said to me, Behold, I have given you cow’s dung for man’s dung, and you shall prepare your bread on it. 16Moreover he said to me, Son of man, behold, I will break the staff of bread in Jerusalem: and they shall eat bread by weight, and with fearfulness; and they shall drink water by measure, and in dismay: 17that they may want bread and water, and be dismayed one with another, and pine away in their iniquity.
1En gij, mensenkind, neem u een tichelsteen, en leg dien voor uw aangezicht, en bewerp daarop de stad Jeruzalem. 2En maak een belegering tegen haar, en bouw tegen haar sterkten, en werp tegen haar een wal op, en stel legers tegen haar, en zet tegen haar stormrammen rondom. 3Verder, neem gij u een ijzeren pan, en stel ze tot een ijzeren muur tussen u en tussen die stad; en richt uw aangezicht tegen haar, dat zij in belegering kome, en gij zult ze belegeren. Dit zij den huize Israels een teken. 4Lig gij ook neder op uw linkerzijde, en leg daarop de ongerechtigheid van het huis Israels, naar het getal der dagen, dat gij daarop zult liggen, zult gij hun ongerechtigheid dragen. 5Want Ik heb u gegeven de jaren hunner ongerechtigheid, naar het getal der dagen, driehonderd en negentig dagen, dat gij de ongerechtigheid van het huis Israels dragen zult. 6Als gij nu deze voleinden zult, lig ten anderen male neder op uw rechterzijde, en gij zult de ongerechtigheid van het huis van Juda dragen veertig dagen; Ik heb u gegeven elken dag voor elk jaar. 7Daarom zult gij uw aangezicht richten tegen de belegering van Jeruzalem, en uw arm zal ontbloot zijn; en gij zult tegen haar profeteren. 8En ziet, Ik zal dikke touwen aan u leggen, dat gij u niet omkeert van uw ene zijde tot uw andere zijde, totdat gij de dagen uwer belegering voleind hebt. 9En neemt gij voor u tarwe, en gerst, en bonen, en linzen, en gierst, en spelt; en doe die in een vat, en maak die u tot brood; naar het getal der dagen, die gij op uw zijde nederliggen zult, driehonderd en negentig dagen, zult gij dat eten. 10Uw spijze nu, die gij eten zult, zal in gewicht zijn twintig sikkelen daags; van tijd tot tijd zult gij die eten. 11Gij zult ook water naar zekere maat drinken, het zesde deel van een hin; van tijd tot tijd zult gij het drinken. 12En gij zult een gerstekoek eten, en dien zult gij met drek van des mensen afgang bakken voor hun ogen. 13En de HEERE zeide: Alzo zullen de kinderen Israels hun brood onrein eten onder de heidenen, waarhenen Ik hen verdrijven zal. 14Toen zeide ik: Ach, Heere, HEERE, zie, mijn ziel is niet verontreinigd geweest; want ik heb, van mijn jeugd af tot nu toe, geen dood aas, noch dat verscheurd is, gegeten, en geen verfoeilijk vlees is in mijn mond gekomen. 15En Hij zeide tot mij: Zie, Ik heb u rundermest gegeven voor mensendrek, zo zult gij uw brood daarmede bereiden. 16Daarna zeide Hij tot mij: Gij mensenkind, zie, Ik breek den staf des broods in Jeruzalem, en zij zullen het brood met gewicht en met kommer eten, en het water met zekere maat en met verbaasdheid drinken; 17Opdat zij des broods en des waters gebrek hebben, en de een met den ander verbaasd worden, en in hun ongerechtigheid uitteren.
