Ézéchiel 39

1Et toi, fils de l’homme, prophétise contre Gog ! Tu diras : Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l’Éternel : Voici, j’en veux à toi, Gog, Prince de Rosch, de Méschec et de Tubal ! 2Je t’entraînerai, je te conduirai, Je te ferai monter des extrémités du septentrion, Et je t’amènerai sur les montagnes d’Israël. 3J’abattrai ton arc de ta main gauche, Et je ferai tomber tes flèches de ta main droite. 4Tu tomberas sur les montagnes d’Israël, Toi et toutes tes troupes, Et les peuples qui seront avec toi ; Aux oiseaux de proie, à tout ce qui a des ailes, Et aux bêtes des champs je te donnerai pour pâture. 5Tu tomberas sur la face de la terre, Car j’ai parlé, dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel. 6J’enverrai le feu dans Magog, Et parmi ceux qui habitent en sécurité les îles ; Et ils sauront que je suis l’Éternel. 7Je ferai connaître mon saint nom au milieu de mon peuple d’Israël, Et je ne laisserai plus profaner mon saint nom ; Et les nations sauront que je suis l’Éternel, Le Saint en Israël. 8Voici, ces choses viennent, elles arrivent, Dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel ; C’est le jour dont j’ai parlé. 9Alors les habitants des villes d’Israël sortiront, Ils brûleront et livreront aux flammes les armes, Les petits et les grands boucliers, Les arcs et les flèches, Les piques et les lances ; Ils en feront du feu pendant sept ans. 10Ils ne prendront point de bois dans les champs, Et ils n’en couperont point dans les forêts, Car c’est avec les armes qu’ils feront du feu. Ils dépouilleront ceux qui les ont dépouillés, Ils pilleront ceux qui les ont pillés, Dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel. 11En ce jour-là, Je donnerai à Gog un lieu qui lui servira de sépulcre en Israël, La vallée des voyageurs, à l’orient de la mer ; Ce sépulcre fermera le passage aux voyageurs. C’est là qu’on enterrera Gog et toute sa multitude, Et on appellera cette vallée la vallée de la multitude de Gog. 12La maison d’Israël les enterrera, Afin de purifier le pays ; Et cela durera sept mois. 13Tout le peuple du pays les enterrera, Et il en aura du renom, Le jour où je serai glorifié, Dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel. 14Ils choisiront des hommes qui seront sans cesse à parcourir le pays, Et qui enterreront, avec l’aide des voyageurs, Les corps restés à la surface de la terre ; Ils purifieront le pays, Et ils seront à la recherche pendant sept mois entiers. 15Ils parcourront le pays ; Et quand l’un d’eux verra les ossements d’un homme, Il mettra près de là un signe, Jusqu’à ce que les fossoyeurs l’enterrent Dans la vallée de la multitude de Gog. 16Il y aura aussi une ville appelée Hamona. C’est ainsi qu’on purifiera le pays. 17Et toi, fils de l’homme, ainsi parle le Seigneur, l’Éternel : Dis aux oiseaux, à tout ce qui a des ailes, Et à toutes les bêtes des champs : Réunissez-vous, venez, rassemblez-vous de toutes parts, Pour le sacrifice où j’immole pour vous des victimes, Grand sacrifice sur les montagnes d’Israël ! Vous mangerez de la chair, et vous boirez du sang. 18Vous mangerez la chair des héros, Et vous boirez le sang des princes de la terre, Béliers, agneaux, boucs, Taureaux engraissés sur le Basan. 19Vous mangerez de la graisse jusqu’à vous en rassasier, Et vous boirez du sang jusqu’à vous enivrer, À ce festin de victimes que j’immolerai pour vous. 20Vous vous rassasierez à ma table de la chair des chevaux et des cavaliers, De la chair des héros et de tous les hommes de guerre, Dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel. 21Je manifesterai ma gloire parmi les nations ; Et toutes les nations verront les jugements que j’exercerai, Et les châtiments dont ma main les frappera. 22La maison d’Israël saura que je suis l’Éternel, son Dieu, Dès ce jour et à l’avenir. 23Et les nations sauront que c’est à cause de ses iniquités Que la maison d’Israël a été conduite en captivité, À cause de ses infidélités envers moi ; Aussi je leur ai caché ma face, Et je les ai livrés entre les mains de leurs ennemis, Afin qu’ils périssent tous par l’épée. 24Je les ai traités selon leurs souillures et leurs transgressions, Et je leur ai caché ma face. 25C’est pourquoi ainsi parle le Seigneur, l’Éternel : Maintenant je ramènerai les captifs de Jacob, J’aurai pitié de toute la maison d’Israël, Et je serai jaloux de mon saint nom. 26Alors ils oublieront leur opprobre, Et toutes les infidélités qu’ils ont commises envers moi, Lorsqu’ils habitaient en sécurité leur pays, Et qu’il n’y avait personne pour les troubler. 27Quand je les ramènerai d’entre les peuples, Quand je les rassemblerai du pays de leurs ennemis, Je serai sanctifié par eux aux yeux de beaucoup de nations. 28Et ils sauront que je suis l’Éternel, leur Dieu, Qui les avait emmenés captifs parmi les nations, Et qui les rassemble dans leur pays ; Je ne laisserai chez elles aucun d’eux, 29Et je ne leur cacherai plus ma face, Car je répandrai mon esprit sur la maison d’Israël, Dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel.

1You, son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Behold, I am against you, Gog, prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal: 2and I will turn you around, and will lead you on, and will cause you to come up from the uttermost parts of the north; and I will bring you on the mountains of Israel; 3and I will strike your bow out of your left hand, and will cause your arrows to fall out of your right hand. 4You shall fall on the mountains of Israel, you, and all your hordes, and the peoples who are with you: I will give you to the ravenous birds of every sort, and to the animals of the field to be devoured. 5You shall fall on the open field; for I have spoken it, says the Lord Yahweh. 6I will send a fire on Magog, and on those who dwell securely in the islands; and they shall know that I am Yahweh. 7My holy name will I make known in the midst of my people Israel; neither will I allow my holy name to be profaned any more: and the nations shall know that I am Yahweh, the Holy One in Israel. 8Behold, it comes, and it shall be done, says the Lord Yahweh; this is the day about which I have spoken. 9Those who dwell in the cities of Israel shall go out, and shall make fires of the weapons and burn them, both the shields and the bucklers, the bows and the arrows, and the war clubs, and the spears, and they shall make fires of them seven years; 10so that they shall take no wood out of the field, neither cut down any out of the forests; for they shall make fires of the weapons; and they shall plunder those who plundered them, and rob those who robbed them, says the Lord Yahweh. 11It shall happen in that day, that I will give to Gog a place for burial in Israel, the valley of those who pass through on the east of the sea; and it shall stop those who pass through: and there shall they bury Gog and all his multitude; and they shall call it The valley of Hamon Gog. 12Seven months shall the house of Israel be burying them, that they may cleanse the land. 13Yes, all the people of the land shall bury them; and it shall be to them a renown in the day that I shall be glorified, says the Lord Yahweh. 14They shall set apart men of continual employment, who shall pass through the land, and, with those who pass through, those who bury those who remain on the surface of the land, to cleanse it: after the end of seven months shall they search. 15Those who pass through the land shall pass through; and when any sees a man’s bone, then shall he set up a sign by it, until the undertakers have buried it in the valley of Hamon Gog. 16Hamonah shall also be the name of a city. Thus shall they cleanse the land. 17You, son of man, thus says the Lord Yahweh: Speak to the birds of every sort, and to every animal of the field, Assemble yourselves, and come; gather yourselves on every side to my sacrifice that I do sacrifice for you, even a great sacrifice on the mountains of Israel, that you may eat flesh and drink blood. 18You shall eat the flesh of the mighty, and drink the blood of the princes of the earth, of rams, of lambs, and of goats, of bulls, all of them fatlings of Bashan. 19You shall eat fat until you be full, and drink blood until you are drunk, of my sacrifice which I have sacrificed for you. 20You shall be filled at my table with horses and chariots, with mighty men, and with all men of war, says the Lord Yahweh. 21I will set my glory among the nations; and all the nations shall see my judgment that I have executed, and my hand that I have laid on them. 22So the house of Israel shall know that I am Yahweh their God, from that day and forward. 23The nations shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity; because they trespassed against me, and I hid my face from them: so I gave them into the hand of their adversaries, and they fell all of them by the sword. 24According to their uncleanness and according to their transgressions did I to them; and I hid my face from them. 25Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: Now will I bring back the captivity of Jacob, and have mercy on the whole house of Israel; and I will be jealous for my holy name. 26They shall bear their shame, and all their trespasses by which they have trespassed against me, when they shall dwell securely in their land, and no one shall make them afraid; 27when I have brought them back from the peoples, and gathered them out of their enemies’ lands, and am sanctified in them in the sight of many nations. 28They shall know that I am Yahweh their God, in that I caused them to go into captivity among the nations, and have gathered them to their own land; and I will leave none of them any more there; 29neither will I hide my face any more from them; for I have poured out my Spirit on the house of Israel, says the Lord Yahweh.

1Voorts, gij mensenkind! profeteer tegen Gog, en zeg: Zo zegt de Heere HEERE: Zie, Ik wil aan u, o Gog, hoofdvorst van Mesech en Tubal! 2En Ik zal u omwenden, en een zeshaak in u slaan, en u optrekken uit de zijden van het noorden, en Ik zal u brengen op de bergen Israels. 3Maar Ik zal uw boog uit uw linkerhand slaan, en Ik zal uw pijlen uit uw rechterhand doen vallen. 4Op de bergen Israels zult gij vallen, gij en al uw benden, en de volken, die met u zijn; Ik heb u aan de roofvogelen, aan het gevogelte van allen vleugel, en aan het gedierte des velds ter spijze gegeven. 5Op het open veld zult gij vallen; want Ik heb het gesproken, spreekt de Heere HEERE. 6En Ik zal een vuur zenden in Magog, en onder degenen, die in de eilanden zeker wonen; en zij zullen weten, dat Ik de HEERE ben. 7En Ik zal Mijn heiligen Naam in het midden van Mijn volk Israel bekend maken, en zal Mijn heiligen Naam niet meer laten ontheiligen; en de heidenen zullen weten, dat Ik de HEERE ben, de Heilige in Israel. 8Ziet, het komt en zal geschieden, spreekt de Heere HEERE; dit is de dag, van welken Ik gesproken heb. 9En de inwoners der steden Israels zullen uitgaan, en vuur stoken en branden van de wapenen, zo van schilden als rondassen, van bogen en van pijlen, zo van handstokken als van spiesen; en zij zullen daarvan vuur stoken zeven jaren; 10Zodat zij geen hout uit het veld zullen dragen, noch uit de wouden houwen, maar van de wapenen vuur stoken; en zij zullen beroven degenen, die hen beroofd hadden, en plunderen, die hen geplunderd hadden, spreekt de Heere HEERE. 11En het zal te dien dage geschieden, dat Ik aan Gog aldaar een grafstede in Israel zal geven, het dal der doorgangers naar het oosten der zee; en datzelve zal den doorgangers den neus stoppen; en aldaar zullen zij begraven Gog en zijn ganse menigte, en zullen het noemen: Het dal van Gogs menigte. 12Het huis Israels nu zal hen begraven, om het land te reinigen, zeven maanden lang. 13Ja, al het volk des lands zal begraven, en het zal hun tot een naam zijn, ten dage als Ik zal verheerlijkt zijn, spreekt de Heere HEERE. 14Ook zullen zij mannen uitscheiden, die gestadig door het land doorgaan, en doodgravers met de doorgangers, om te begraven degenen, die op den aardbodem zijn overgelaten, om dien te reinigen; ten einde van zeven maanden zullen zij onderzoek doen. 15En deze doorgangers zullen door het land doorgaan, en als iemand een mensenbeen ziet, zo zal hij een merkteken daarbij oprichten; totdat de doodgravers hetzelve zullen hebben begraven in het dal van Gogs menigte. 16Ook zo zal de naam der stad Hamona zijn. Alzo zullen zij het land reinigen. 17Gij dan, mensenkind! zo zegt de Heere HEERE: Zeg tot het gevogelte van allen vleugel, en tot al het gedierte des velds: Vergadert u, en komt aan, verzamelt u van rondom, tot Mijn slachtoffer, dat Ik voor u geslacht heb, een groot slachtoffer, op de bergen Israels, en eet vlees, en drink bloed. 18Het vlees der helden zult gij eten, en het bloed van de vorsten der aarde drinken; der rammen, der lammeren, en bokken, en varren, die altemaal gemesten van Basan zijn. 19En gij zult het vette eten tot verzadiging toe, en bloed drinken tot dronkenschap toe; van Mijn slachtoffer, dat Ik voor u geslacht heb. 20En gij zult verzadigd worden aan Mijn tafel van rij paarden en wagen paarden, van helden en alle krijgslieden, spreekt de Heere HEERE. 21En Ik zal Mijn eer zetten onder de heidenen; en alle heidenen zullen Mijn oordeel zien, dat Ik gedaan heb, en Mijn hand, die Ik aan hen gelegd heb. 22En die van het huis Israels zullen weten, dat Ik, de HEERE, hunlieder God ben, van dien dag af en voortaan. 23En de heidenen zullen weten, dat die van het huis Israels gevankelijk zijn weggevoerd om hun ongerechtigheid, omdat zij tegen Mij hadden overtreden, en dat Ik Mijn aangezicht voor hen verborgen heb, en heb ze overgegeven in de hand hunner wederpartijders, zodat zij altemaal door het zwaard gevallen zijn; 24Naar hun onreinigheid en naar hun overtredingen heb Ik met hen gehandeld, en Ik heb Mijn aangezicht voor hen verborgen. 25Daarom zo zegt de Heere HEERE: Nu zal Ik Jakobs gevangenen wederbrengen, en zal Mij ontfermen over het ganse huis Israels, en Ik zal ijveren over Mijn heiligen Naam; 26Als zij hun schande zullen gedragen hebben, en al hun overtreding, met dewelke zij tegen Mij hebben overtreden, toen zij in hun land zeker woonden, en er niemand was, die hen verschrikte. 27Als Ik hen zal hebben wedergebracht uit de volken, en hen vergaderd zal hebben uit de landen hunner vijanden, en Ik aan hen geheiligd zal zijn voor de ogen van vele heidenen; 28Dan zullen zij weten, dat Ik, de HEERE, hunlieder God ben, dewijl Ik ze gevankelijk heb doen wegvoeren onder de heidenen, maar heb ze weder verzameld in hun land, en heb aldaar niemand van hen meer overgelaten. 29En Ik zal Mijn aangezicht voor hen niet meer verbergen, wanneer Ik Mijn Geest over het huis Israels zal hebben uitgegoten, spreekt de Heere HEERE.
