1La dixième année, le douzième jour du dixième mois, la parole de l’Éternel me fut adressée, en ces mots : 2Fils de l’homme, tourne ta face vers Pharaon, roi d’Égypte, Et prophétise contre lui et contre toute l’Égypte ! 3Parle, et tu diras : Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l’Éternel : Voici, j’en veux à toi, Pharaon, roi d’Égypte, Grand crocodile, qui te couches au milieu de tes fleuves, Et qui dis : Mon fleuve est à moi, c’est moi qui l’ai fait ! 4Je mettrai une boucle à tes mâchoires, J’attacherai à tes écailles les poissons de tes fleuves, Et je te tirerai du milieu de tes fleuves, Avec tous les poissons qui s’y trouvent Et qui seront attachés à tes écailles. 5Je te jetterai dans le désert, Toi et tous les poissons de tes fleuves. Tu tomberas sur la face des champs, Tu ne seras ni relevé ni ramassé ; Aux bêtes de la terre et aux oiseaux du ciel Je te donnerai pour pâture. 6Et tous les habitants de l’Égypte sauront que je suis l’Éternel, Parce qu’ils ont été un soutien de roseau pour la maison d’Israël. 7Lorsqu’ils t’ont pris dans la main, tu t’es rompu, Et tu leur as déchiré toute l’épaule ; Lorsqu’ils se sont appuyés sur toi, tu t’es brisé, Et tu as rendu leurs reins immobiles. 8C’est pourquoi ainsi parle le Seigneur, l’Éternel : Voici, je ferai venir contre toi l’épée, Et j’exterminerai du milieu de toi les hommes et les bêtes. 9Le pays d’Égypte deviendra une solitude et un désert. Et ils sauront que je suis l’Éternel, Parce qu’il a dit : Le fleuve est à moi, c’est moi qui l’ai fait ! 10C’est pourquoi voici, j’en veux à toi et à tes fleuves, Et je ferai du pays d’Égypte un désert et une solitude, Depuis Migdol jusqu’à Syène et aux frontières de l’Éthiopie. 11Nul pied d’homme n’y passera, Nul pied d’animal n’y passera, Et il restera quarante ans sans être habité. 12Je ferai du pays d’Égypte une solitude entre les pays dévastés, Et ses villes seront désertes entre les villes désertes, Pendant quarante ans. Je répandrai les Égyptiens parmi les nations, Je les disperserai en divers pays. 13Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l’Éternel : Au bout de quarante ans je rassemblerai les Égyptiens Du milieu des peuples où ils auront été dispersés. 14Je ramènerai les captifs de l’Égypte, Je les ramènerai dans le pays de Pathros, Dans le pays de leur origine, Et là ils formeront un faible royaume. 15Ce sera le moindre des royaumes, Et il ne s’élèvera plus au-dessus des nations, Je les diminuerai, afin qu’ils ne dominent pas sur les nations. 16Ce royaume ne sera plus pour la maison d’Israël un sujet de confiance ; Il lui rappellera son iniquité, quand elle se tournait vers eux. Et ils sauront que je suis le Seigneur, l’Éternel. 17La vingt-septième année, le premier jour du premier mois, la parole de l’Éternel me fut adressée, en ces mots : 18Fils de l’homme, Nebucadnetsar, roi de Babylone, À fait faire à son armée un service pénible contre Tyr ; Toutes les têtes sont chauves, toutes les épaules sont écorchées ; Et il n’a retiré de Tyr aucun salaire, ni lui, ni son armée, Pour le service qu’il a fait contre elle. 19C’est pourquoi ainsi parle le Seigneur, l’Éternel : Voici, je donne à Nebucadnetsar, roi de Babylone, Le pays d’Égypte ; Il en emportera les richesses, Il en prendra les dépouilles, Il en pillera le butin ; Ce sera un salaire pour son armée. 20Pour prix du service qu’il a fait contre Tyr, Je lui donne le pays d’Égypte ; Car ils ont travaillé pour moi, Dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel. 21En ce jour-là, je donnerai de la force à la maison d’Israël, Et je t’ouvrirai la bouche au milieu d’eux ; Et ils sauront que je suis l’Éternel.
1In the tenth year, in the tenth month, on the twelfth day of the month, Yahweh’s word came to me, saying, 2“Son of man, set your face against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and prophesy against him and against all Egypt. 3Speak and say, ‘Thus says the Lord Yahweh: “Behold, I am against you, Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great monster that lies in the midst of his rivers, that has said, ‘My river is my own, and I have made it for myself.’ 4I will put hooks in your jaws, and I will make the fish of your rivers stick to your scales; and I will bring you up out of the midst of your rivers, with all the fish of your rivers which stick to your scales. 5I’ll cast you out into the wilderness, you and all the fish of your rivers. You’ll fall on the open field. You won’t be brought together, nor gathered. I have given you for food to the animals of the earth and to the birds of the sky. 6All the inhabitants of Egypt will know that I am Yahweh, because they have been a staff of reed to the house of Israel. 7When they took hold of you by your hand, you broke, and tore all their shoulders; and when they leaned on you, you broke, and paralyzed all of their thighs.” 8Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: “Behold, I will bring a sword on you, and will cut off man and animal from you. 9The land of Egypt shall be a desolation and a waste; and they shall know that I am Yahweh. Because he has said, ‘The river is mine, and I have made it;’ 10therefore, behold, I am against you, and against your rivers, and I will make the land of Egypt an utter waste and desolation, from the tower of Seveneh even to the border of Ethiopia. 11No foot of man shall pass through it, nor foot of animal shall pass through it, neither shall it be inhabited forty years. 12I will make the land of Egypt a desolation in the midst of the countries that are desolate; and her cities among the cities that are laid waste shall be a desolation forty years; and I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and will disperse them through the countries.” 13For thus says the Lord Yahweh: “At the end of forty years will I gather the Egyptians from the peoples where they were scattered; 14and I will bring back the captivity of Egypt, and will cause them to return into the land of Pathros, into the land of their birth; and they shall be there a base kingdom. 15It shall be the base of the kingdoms; neither shall it any more lift itself up above the nations: and I will diminish them, that they shall no more rule over the nations. 16It shall be no more the confidence of the house of Israel, bringing iniquity to memory, when they turn to look after them: and they shall know that I am the Lord Yahweh.”’” 17It came to pass in the seven and twentieth year, in the first month, in the first day of the month, Yahweh’s word came to me, saying, 18Son of man, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon caused his army to serve a great service against Tyre: every head was made bald, and every shoulder was worn; yet had he no wages, nor his army, from Tyre, for the service that he had served against it. 19Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: Behold, I will give the land of Egypt to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; and he shall carry off her multitude, and take her plunder, and take her prey; and it shall be the wages for his army. 20I have given him the land of Egypt as his recompense for which he served, because they worked for me, says the Lord Yahweh. 21In that day will I cause a horn to sprout for the house of Israel, and I will give you the opening of the mouth in their midst; and they shall know that I am Yahweh.
1In het tiende jaar, in de tiende maand, op den twaalfden der maand, geschiedde des HEEREN woord tot mij, zeggende: 2Mensenkind! zet uw aangezicht tegen Farao, den koning van Egypte, en profeteer tegen hem, en tegen het ganse Egypte. 3Spreek en zeg: Zo zegt de Heere HEERE: Zie, Ik wil aan u, o Farao, koning van Egypte! dien groten zeedraak, die in het midden zijner rivieren ligt; die daar zegt: Mijn rivier is de mijne, en ik heb die voor mij gemaakt. 4Maar Ik zal haken in uw kaken doen, en den vis uwer rivieren aan uw schubben doen kleven; en Ik zal u uit het midden uwer rivieren optrekken, en al de vis uwer rivieren zal aan uw schubben kleven. 5En Ik zal u verlaten in de woestijn, u en al den vis uwer rivieren; op het open veld zult gij vallen; gij zult niet verzameld noch vergaderd worden; aan het gedierte der aarde en aan het gevogelte des hemels heb Ik u ter spijze gegeven. 6En al de inwoners van Egypte zullen weten, dat Ik de HEERE ben, omdat zij den huize Israels een rietstaf geweest zijn. 7Als zij u bij uw hand grepen, zo werdt gij gebroken, en spleet hun alle zijden; en als zij op u leunden, zo werdt gij verbroken, en liet alle lenden op zichzelven staan. 8Daarom zo zegt de Heere HEERE: Zie, Ik zal het zwaard over u brengen, en Ik zal uit u mens en beest uitroeien. 9En Egypteland zal worden tot een wildernis en woestheid, en zij zullen weten, dat Ik de HEERE ben; omdat hij zegt: De rivier is mijn, en ik heb die gemaakt. 10Daarom, zie, Ik wil aan u en aan uw rivier; en Ik zal Egypteland stellen tot woeste wilde eenzaamheden, van den toren van Syrene af, tot aan de landpale van Morenland. 11Geen mensenvoet zal door hetzelve doorgaan, en geen beestenvoet zal door hetzelve doorgaan, en het zal veertig jaren onbewoond zijn. 12Want Ik zal Egypteland stellen tot een verwoesting in het midden der verwoeste landen, en zijn steden zullen een woestheid zijn in het midden der verwoeste steden, veertig jaren; en Ik zal de Egyptenaars verstrooien onder de heidenen, en zal hen verspreiden in de landen. 13Maar zo zegt de Heere HEERE: Ten einde van veertig jaren zal Ik de Egyptenaars vergaderen uit de volken, waarhenen zij verstrooid zijn geworden. 14En Ik zal de gevangenis der Egyptenaren wenden, en hen wederbrengen in het land van Pathros, in het land huns koophandels; en aldaar zullen zij een nederig koninkrijk zijn. 15En het zal nederiger zijn dan de andere koninkrijken, en zich niet meer verheffen boven de heidenen; want Ik zal hen verminderen, dat zij niet zullen heersen over de heidenen. 16En het zal den huize Israels niet meer zijn tot een vertrouwen, dat der ongerechtigheid doet gedenken, wanneer zij naar henlieden omzien; maar zij zullen weten, dat Ik de Heere HEERE ben. 17Voorts gebeurde het in het zeven en twintigste jaar, in de eerste maand, op den eersten der maand, dat het woord des HEEREN tot mij geschiedde, zeggende: 18Mensenkind! Nebukadrezar, de koning van Babel, heeft zijn heir een groten dienst doen dienen tegen Tyrus; alle hoofden zijn kaal geworden, en alle zijden zijn uitgeplukt; en noch hij, noch zijn heir heeft loon gehad vanwege Tyrus, voor den dienst, dien hij tegen haar gediend heeft. 19Daarom, zo zegt de Heere HEERE: Zie, Ik zal Nebukadrezar, den koning van Babel, Egypteland geven; en hij zal deszelfs buit buiten, en deszelfs roof roven, en het zal het loon zijn voor zijn heir. 20Tot zijn arbeidsloon, omdat hij tegen haar gediend heeft, heb Ik hem Egypteland gegeven, omdat zij voor Mij gewrocht hebben, spreekt de Heere HEERE. 21Te dien dage zal Ik den hoorn van het huis Israels doen uitspruiten, en u opening des monds geven in het midden van hen; en zij zullen weten, dat Ik de HEERE ben.
