Ézéchiel 2

1Il me dit : Fils de l’homme, tiens-toi sur tes pieds, et je te parlerai. 2Dès qu’il m’eut adressé ces mots, l’esprit entra en moi et me fit tenir sur mes pieds ; et j’entendis celui qui me parlait. 3Il me dit : Fils de l’homme, je t’envoie vers les enfants d’Israël, vers ces peuples rebelles, qui se sont révoltés contre moi ; eux et leurs pères ont péché contre moi, jusqu’au jour même où nous sommes. 4Ce sont des enfants à la face impudente et au cœur endurci ; je t’envoie vers eux, et tu leur diras : Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l’Éternel. 5Qu’ils écoutent, ou qu’ils n’écoutent pas, -car c’est une famille de rebelles, -ils sauront qu’un prophète est au milieu d’eux. 6Et toi, fils de l’homme, ne les crains pas et ne crains pas leurs discours, quoique tu aies auprès de toi des ronces et des épines, et que tu habites avec des scorpions ; ne crains pas leurs discours et ne t’effraie pas de leurs visages, quoiqu’ils soient une famille de rebelles. 7Tu leur diras mes paroles, qu’ils écoutent ou qu’ils n’écoutent pas, car ce sont des rebelles. 8Et toi, fils de l’homme, écoute ce que je vais te dire ! Ne sois pas rebelle, comme cette famille de rebelles ! Ouvre ta bouche, et mange ce que je te donnerai ! 9Je regardai, et voici, une main était étendue vers moi, et elle tenait un livre en rouleau. 10Il le déploya devant moi, et il était écrit en dedans et en dehors ; des lamentations, des plaintes et des gémissements y étaient écrits.

1He said to me, Son of man, stand on your feet, and I will speak with you. 2The Spirit entered into me when he spoke to me, and set me on my feet; and I heard him who spoke to me. 3He said to me, Son of man, I send you to the children of Israel, to a nation of rebels who have rebelled against me. They and their fathers have transgressed against me even to this very day. 4The children are impudent and stiff-hearted: I am sending you to them; and you shall tell them, Thus says the Lord Yahweh. 5They, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear, (for they are a rebellious house), yet shall know that there has been a prophet among them. 6You, son of man, don’t be afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns are with you, and you do dwell among scorpions: don’t be afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they are a rebellious house. 7You shall speak my words to them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear; for they are most rebellious. 8But you, son of man, hear what I tell you; don’t be rebellious like that rebellious house: open your mouth, and eat that which I give you. 9When I looked, behold, a hand was stretched out to me; and, behold, a scroll of a book was therein; 10He spread it before me: and it was written within and without; and there were written therein lamentations, and mourning, and woe.

1En Hij zeide tot mij: Mensenkind, sta op uw voeten, en Ik zal met u spreken. 2Zo kwam in mij, als Hij tot mij sprak, de Geest, Die mij stelde op mijn voeten; en ik hoorde Dien, Die tot mij sprak. 3En Hij zeide tot mij: Mensenkind! Ik zend u tot de kinderen Israels, tot de rebellerende volken, die tegen Mij gerebelleerd hebben; zij en hun vaderen hebben overtreden tegen Mij tot op dezen zelven huidigen dag. 4En deze kinderen zijn hard van aangezicht, en stijf van hart; Ik zend u tot hen, en gij zult tot hen zeggen: Zo zegt de Heere HEERE! 5En zij, hetzij dat zij het horen zullen, of hetzij dat zij het laten zullen (want zij zijn een wederspannig huis), zo zullen zij weten, dat een profeet in het midden van hen geweest is. 6En gij, mensenkind! vrees niet voor hen, en vrees niet voor hun woorden, hoewel wederwilligen en doornen bij u zijn, en gij bij schorpioenen woont; vrees voor hun woorden niet, en ontzet u niet voor hun aangezicht, want zij zijn een wederspannig huis. 7Maar gij zult Mijn woorden tot hen spreken, hetzij dat zij horen zullen, of hetzij dat zij het laten zullen; want zij zijn wederspannig. 8Doch gij, mensenkind, hoor hetgeen Ik tot u spreek; wees gij niet wederspannig, gelijk dat wederspannig huis; open uw mond, en eet, wat Ik u geef. 9Toen zag ik, en ziet, er was een hand tot mij uitgestoken; en ziet, daarin was de rol eens boeks. 10En Hij spreidde die voor mijn aangezicht uit; en zij was beschreven voor en achter; en daarin waren geschreven klaagliederen, en zuchting, en wee.
