Žalmy 37

1Žalm Davidův. Nehněvej se příčinou zlostníků, nechtěj záviděti těm, kteříž páší nepravost. 2Nebo jako tráva v náhle podťati budou, a jako zelená bylina uvadnou. 3Doufej v Hospodina, a čiň dobré, přebývej na zemi a živ se spravedlivě. 4Těš se v Hospodinu, a dá tobě žádosti srdce tvého. 5Uval na Hospodina cestu svou, a slož v něm naději, onť zajisté všecko spraví. 6A vyvedeť spravedlnost tvou jako světlo, a nevinu tvou jako poledne. 7Mlčelivě se měj k Hospodinu, a očekávej na něj pečlivě. Nekormuť se příčinou toho, jemuž se daří na cestě jeho, příčinou člověka, kterýž provodí, cožkoli umyslil. 8Pusť mimo sebe hněv, a zanech prchlivosti; nezpouzej se tak, abys zle činiti chtěl. 9Nebo zlostníci vypléněni budou, ale ti, kteříž očekávají na Hospodina, dědičně zemí vládnouti budou. 10Po malé chvíli zajisté, anť bezbožníka nebude, a pohledíš na místo jeho, anť ho již není. 11Ale tiší dědičně obdrží zemi, a rozkoš míti budou ve množství pokoje. 12Zle myslí bezbožník o spravedlivém, a škřipí na něj zuby svými, 13Ale Hospodin směje se jemu; nebo vidí, že se přibližuje den jeho. 14Vytrhujíť bezbožníci meč, a natahují lučiště své, aby porazili chudého a nuzného, aby hubili ty, kteříž jsou ctného obcování; 15Ale meč jejich vejde v jejich srdce, a lučiště jejich budou polámána. 16Lepší jest málo, což má spravedlivý, než veliká bohatství bezbožníků mnohých. 17Nebo ramena bezbožných polámána budou, spravedlivé pak zdržuje Hospodin. 18Znáť Hospodin dny upřímých, protož dědictví jejich na věky zůstane. 19Nebudouť zahanbeni v čas zlý, a ve dnech hladu nasyceni budou; 20Ale bezbožníci zahynou, a nepřátelé Hospodinovi, jak tuk beranů s dymem mizí, tak zmizejí. 21Vypůjčuje bezbožník, a nemá co oplatiti, ale spravedlivý milost činí, a rozdává. 22Nebo požehnaní ode Pána zemí vládnouti budou, ale zlořečení od něho budou vypléněni. 23Krokové člověka spravedlivého od Hospodina spravováni bývají, a cestu jeho libuje. 24Jestliže by upadl, neurazí se; nebo Hospodin drží jej za ruku jeho. 25Mlad jsem byl, a sstaral jsem se, a neviděl jsem spravedlivého opuštěného, ani semene jeho žebrati chleba. 26Každého dne milost činí, i půjčuje, a však símě jeho jest v požehnání. 27Odstup od zlého, a čiň dobré, a bydliti budeš na věky. 28Nebo Hospodin miluje soud, a neopouští svatých svých, na věky v stráži jeho budou; símě pak bezbožníků bude vypléněno. 29Ale spravedliví ujmou zemi dědičně, a na věky v ní přebývati budou. 30Ústa spravedlivého mluví moudrost, a jazyk jeho vynáší soud. 31Zákon Boha jeho jest v srdci jeho, pročež nepodvrtnou se nohy jeho. 32Špehujeť bezbožník po spravedlivém, a hledá ho zahubiti; 33Ale Hospodin ho nenechá v ruce jeho, aniž ho dopustí potupiti, když by souzen byl. 34Očekávejž tedy na Hospodina, a ostříhej cesty jeho, a on tě povýší, abys dědičně obdržel zemi, z níž že vykořeněni budou bezbožníci, uhlédáš. 35Viděl jsem bezbožníka hrozné síly, an se rozložil jako zelený samorostlý strom. 36Ale tudíž pominul, a aj nebylo ho; nebo hledal jsem ho, a není nalezen. 37Pozor měj na pobožného, a viz upřímého, žeť takového člověka poslední věci jsou potěšené, 38Přestupníci pak že tolikéž vyhlazeni budou, a bezbožníci naposledy vyťati. 39Ale spasení spravedlivých jest od Hospodina, onť jest síla jejich v času ssoužení. 40Spomáháť jim Hospodin, a je vytrhuje, vytrhuje je od bezbožníků, a zachovává je; nebo doufají v něho.

1Don’t fret because of evildoers, neither be envious against those who work unrighteousness. 2For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither like the green herb. 3Trust in Yahweh, and do good. Dwell in the land, and enjoy safe pasture. 4Also delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart. 5Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this: 6he will make your righteousness go out as the light, and your justice as the noon day sun. 7Rest in Yahweh, and wait patiently for him. Don’t fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who makes wicked plots happen. 8Cease from anger, and forsake wrath. Don’t fret, it leads only to evildoing. 9For evildoers shall be cut off, but those who wait for Yahweh shall inherit the land. 10For yet a little while, and the wicked will be no more. Yes, though you look for his place, he isn’t there. 11But the humble shall inherit the land, and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace. 12The wicked plots against the just, and gnashes at him with his teeth. 13The Lord will laugh at him, for he sees that his day is coming. 14The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, to kill those who are upright on the path. 15Their sword shall enter into their own heart. Their bows shall be broken. 16Better is a little that the righteous has, than the abundance of many wicked. 17For the arms of the wicked shall be broken, but Yahweh upholds the righteous. 18Yahweh knows the days of the perfect. Their inheritance shall be forever. 19They shall not be disappointed in the time of evil. In the days of famine they shall be satisfied. 20But the wicked shall perish. The enemies of Yahweh shall be like the beauty of the fields. They will vanish— vanish like smoke. 21The wicked borrow, and don’t pay back, but the righteous give generously. 22For such as are blessed by him shall inherit the land. Those who are cursed by him shall be cut off. 23A man’s goings are established by Yahweh. He delights in his way. 24Though he stumble, he shall not fall, for Yahweh holds him up with his hand. 25I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his children begging for bread. 26All day long he deals graciously, and lends. His seed is blessed. 27Depart from evil, and do good. Live securely forever. 28For Yahweh loves justice, and doesn’t forsake his saints. They are preserved forever, but the children of the wicked shall be cut off. 29The righteous shall inherit the land, and live in it forever. 30The mouth of the righteous talks of wisdom. His tongue speaks justice. 31The law of his God is in his heart. None of his steps shall slide. 32The wicked watches the righteous, and seeks to kill him. 33Yahweh will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged. 34Wait for Yahweh, and keep his way, and he will exalt you to inherit the land. When the wicked are cut off, you shall see it. 35I have seen the wicked in great power, spreading himself like a green tree in its native soil. 36But he passed away, and behold, he was not. Yes, I sought him, but he could not be found. 37Mark the perfect man, and see the upright, for there is a future for the man of peace. 38As for transgressors, they shall be destroyed together. The future of the wicked shall be cut off. 39But the salvation of the righteous is from Yahweh. He is their stronghold in the time of trouble. 40Yahweh helps them, and rescues them. He rescues them from the wicked, and saves them, Because they have taken refuge in him.

Ontsteek u niet over de boosdoeners; benijd hen niet, die onrecht doen. 2Want als gras zullen zij haast worden afgesneden, en als de groene grasscheutjes zullen zij afvallen. 3Beth. Vertrouw op den HEERE, en doe het goede; bewoon de aarde, en voed u met getrouwigheid. 4En verlustig u in den HEERE, zo zal Hij u geven de begeerten uws harten. 5Gimel. Wentel uw weg op den HEERE, en vertrouw op Hem; Hij zal het maken; 6En zal uw gerechtigheid doen voortkomen als het licht, en uw recht als den middag. 7Daleth. Zwijg den HEERE, en verbeid Hem; ontsteek u niet over dengene, wiens weg voorspoedig is; over een man, die listige aanslagen uitvoert. 8He. Laat af van toorn, en verlaat de grimmigheid; ontsteek u niet, immers niet, om kwaad te doen. 9Want de boosdoeners zullen uitgeroeid worden, maar die den HEERE verwachten, die zullen de aarde erfelijk bezitten. 10Vau. En nog een weinig, en de goddeloze zal er niet zijn; en gij zult acht nemen op zijn plaats, maar hij zal er niet wezen. 11De zachtmoedigen daarentegen zullen de aarde erfelijk bezitten, en zich verlustigen over groten vrede. 12Zain. De goddeloze bedenkt listige aanslagen tegen den rechtvaardige, en hij knerst over hem met zijn tanden. 13De Heere belacht hem, want Hij ziet, dat zijn dag komt. 14Cheth. De goddelozen hebben het zwaard uitgetrokken, en hun boog gespannen, om den ellendige en nooddruftige neder te vellen, om te slachten, die oprecht van weg zijn. 15Hun zwaard zal in hunlieder hart gaan; en hun bogen zullen verbroken worden. 16Teth. Het weinige, dat de rechtvaardige heeft, is beter dan de overvloed veler goddelozen. 17Want de armen der goddelozen zullen verbroken worden; maar de HEERE ondersteunt de rechtvaardigen. 18Jod. De HEERE kent de dagen der oprechten; en hun erfenis zal in eeuwigheid blijven. 19Zij zullen niet beschaamd worden in den kwade tijd, en in de dagen des hongers zullen zij verzadigd worden. 20Caph. Maar de goddelozen zullen vergaan, en de vijanden des HEEREN zullen verdwijnen, als het kostelijkste der lammeren; met den rook zullen zij verdwijnen. 21Lamed. De goddeloze ontleent en geeft niet weder; maar de rechtvaardige ontfermt zich, en geeft. 22Want zijn gezegenden zullen de aarde erfelijk bezitten; maar zijn vervloekten zullen uitgeroeid worden. 23Mem. De gangen deszelven mans worden van den HEERE bevestigd; en Hij heeft lust aan zijn weg. 24Als hij valt, zo wordt hij niet weggeworpen, want de HEERE ondersteunt zijn hand. 25Nun. Ik ben jong geweest, ook ben ik oud geworden, maar heb niet gezien den rechtvaardige verlaten, noch zijn zaad zoekende brood. 26Den gansen dag ontfermt hij zich, en leent; en zijn zaad is tot zegening. 27Samech. Wijk af van het kwade, en doe het goede, en woon in eeuwigheid. 28Want de HEERE heeft het recht lief, en zal Zijn gunstgenoten niet verlaten; in eeuwigheid worden zij bewaard; maar het zaad der goddelozen wordt uitgeroeid. 29De rechtvaardigen zullen de aarde erfelijk bezitten, en in eeuwigheid daarop wonen. 30Pe. De mond des rechtvaardigen vermeldt wijsheid, en zijn tong spreekt het recht. 31De wet zijns Gods is in zijn hart; zijn gangen zullen niet slibberen. 32Tsade. De goddeloze loert op den rechtvaardige, en zoekt hem te doden. 33Maar de HEERE laat hem niet in zijn hand; en Hij verdoemt hem niet, als hij geoordeeld wordt. 34Koph. Wacht op den HEERE, en houd Zijn weg, en Hij zal u verhogen, om de aarde erfelijk te bezitten; gij zult zien, dat de goddelozen worden uitgeroeid. 35Resch. Ik heb gezien een gewelddrijvende goddeloze, die zich uitbreidde als een groene inlandse boom. 36Maar hij ging door, en zie, hij was er niet meer; en ik zocht hem, maar hij werd niet gevonden. 37Schin. Let op den vrome, en zie naar den oprechte; want het einde van dien man zal vrede zijn. 38Maar de overtreders worden te zamen verdelgd. het einde der goddelozen wordt uitgeroeid. 39Thau. Doch het heil der rechtvaardigen is van den HEERE; hun Sterkte ter tijd van benauwdheid. 40En de HEERE zal hen helpen, en zal hen bevrijden; Hij zal ze bevrijden van de goddelozen, en zal ze behouden; want zij betrouwen op Hem.
