Geremia 45

1La parola che il profeta Geremia rivolse a Baruc, figliuolo di Neria, quando questi scrisse queste parole in un libro, a dettatura di Geremia, l’anno quarto di Joiakim, figliuolo di Giosia, re di Giuda. Egli disse: 2"Così parla l’Eterno, l’Iddio d’Israele, riguardo a te, Baruc: 3Tu dici: Guai a me! poiché l’Eterno aggiunge tristezza al mio dolore; io m’affanno a gemere, e non trovo requie. 4Digli così: Così parla l’Eterno: Ecco, ciò che ho edificato, io lo distruggerò; ciò che ho piantato, io lo sradicherò; e questo farò in tutto il paese. 5E tu cercheresti grandi cose per te? Non le cercare! poiché, ecco, io farò venir del male sopra ogni carne, dice l’Eterno, ma a te darò la vita come bottino, in tutti i luoghi dove tu andrai".

1The message that Jeremiah the prophet spoke to Baruch the son of Neriah, when he wrote these words in a book at the mouth of Jeremiah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, saying, 2Thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel, to you, Baruch: 3You said, Woe is me now! for Yahweh has added sorrow to my pain; I am weary with my groaning, and I find no rest. 4You shall tell him, Thus says Yahweh: Behold, that which I have built will I break down, and that which I have planted I will pluck up; and this in the whole land. 5Do you seek great things for yourself? Don’t seek them; for, behold, I will bring evil on all flesh, says Yahweh; but your life will I give to you for a prey in all places where you go.

1Het woord, dat de profeet Jeremia gesproken heeft tot Baruch, den zoon van Nerija, als hij die woorden uit den mond van Jeremia in een boek schreef, in het vierde jaar van Jojakim, den zoon van Josia, den koning van Juda, zeggende: 2Alzo zegt de HEERE, de God Israels, van u, o Baruch! 3Gij zegt: Wee nu mij, want de HEERE heeft droefenis tot mijn smart gedaan; ik ben moede van mijn zuchten, en vind geen rust! 4Zo zult gij tot hem zeggen: Zo zegt de HEERE: Zie, dat Ik gebouwd heb, breek Ik af, en dat Ik geplant heb, ruk Ik uit, zelfs dit ganse land. 5En zoudt gij u grote dingen zoeken? Zoek ze niet; want zie, Ik breng een kwaad over alle vlees, spreekt de HEERE; maar Ik zal u uw ziel tot een buit geven, in alle plaatsen, waar gij zult henentrekken.
