Geremia 35

1La parola che fu rivolta a Geremia dall’Eterno, al tempo di Joiakim, figliuolo di Giosia, re di Giuda, in questi termini: 2"Va’ alla casa dei Recabiti, e parla loro; menali nella casa dell’Eterno, in una delle camere, e offri loro del vino da bere". 3Allora io presi Jaazania, figliuolo di Geremia, figliuolo di Habazzinia, i suoi fratelli, tutti i suoi figliuoli e tutta la casa dei Recabiti, 4e li menai nella casa dell’Eterno, nella camera de’ figliuoli di Hanan, figliuolo d’Igdalia, uomo di Dio, la quale era presso alla camera de’ capi, sopra la camera di Maaseia, figliuolo di Shallum, guardiano della soglia; 5e misi davanti ai figliuoli della casa dei Recabiti dei vasi pieni di vino e delle coppe, e dissi loro: "Bevete del vino". 6Ma quelli risposero: "Noi non beviamo vino; perché Gionadab, figliuolo di Recab, nostro padre, ce l’ha proibito, dicendo: Non berrete mai in perpetuo vino, né voi né i vostri figliuoli; 7e non edificherete case, non seminerete alcuna semenza, non pianterete vigne, e non ne possederete alcuna, ma abiterete in tende tutti i giorni della vostra vita, affinché viviate lungamente nel paese dove state come forestieri. 8E noi abbiamo ubbidito alla voce di Gionadab, figliuolo di Recab, nostro padre, in tutto quello che ci ha comandato: non beviamo vino durante tutti i nostri giorni, tanto noi, che le nostre mogli, i nostri figliuoli e le nostre figliuole; 9non edifichiamo case per abitarvi, non abbiamo vigna, campo, né sementa; 10abitiamo in tende, e abbiamo ubbidito e fatto tutto quello che Gionadab, nostro padre, ci ha comandato. 11Ma quando Nebucadnetsar, re di Babilonia, è salito contro il paese, abbiam detto: Venite, ritiriamoci a Gerusalemme, per paura dell’esercito dei Caldei e dell’esercito di Siria. E così ci siamo stabiliti a Gerusalemme". 12Allora la parola dell’Eterno fu rivolta a Geremia in questi termini: 13"Così parla l’Eterno degli eserciti, l’Iddio d’Israele: Va’ e di’ agli uomini di Giuda e agli abitanti di Gerusalemme: Non riceverete voi dunque la lezione, imparando ad ubbidire alle mie parole? dice l’Eterno. 14Le parole di Gionadab, figliuolo di Recab, che comandò ai suoi figliuoli di non bever vino, sono state messe ad effetto, ed essi fino al dì d’oggi non hanno bevuto vino, in ubbidienza all’ordine del padre loro; e io v’ho parlato, parlato fin dal mattino, e voi non m’avete dato ascolto; 15ho continuato a mandarvi ogni mattina tutti i miei servitori i profeti per dirvi: Convertitevi dunque ciascuno dalla sua via malvagia, emendate le vostre azioni, non andate dietro ad altri dèi per servirli, e abiterete nel paese che ho dato a voi ed ai vostri padri; ma voi non avete prestato orecchio, e non m’avete ubbidito. 16Sì, i figliuoli di Gionadab, figliuolo di Recab, hanno messo ad effetto l’ordine dato dal padre loro, ma questo popolo non mi ha ubbidito! 17Perciò, così parla l’Eterno, l’Iddio degli eserciti, l’Iddio d’Israele: Ecco, io faccio venire su Giuda e su tutti gli abitanti di Gerusalemme tutto il male che ho pronunziato contro di loro, perché ho parlato loro, ed essi non hanno ascoltato; perché li ho chiamati, ed essi non hanno risposto". 18E alla casa dei Recabiti Geremia disse: "Così parla l’Eterno degli eserciti, l’Iddio d’Israele: Poiché avete ubbidito all’ordine di Gionadab, vostro padre, e avete osservato tutti i suoi precetti, e avete fatto tutto quello ch’egli vi avea prescritto, 19così parla l’Eterno degli eserciti, l’Iddio d’Israele: A Gionadab, figliuolo di Recab, non verranno mai meno in perpetuo discendenti, che stiano davanti alla mia faccia".

1The word which came to Jeremiah from Yahweh in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, saying, 2Go to the house of the Rechabites, and speak to them, and bring them into Yahweh’s house, into one of the rooms, and give them wine to drink. 3Then I took Jaazaniah the son of Jeremiah, the son of Habazziniah, and his brothers, and all his sons, and the whole house of the Rechabites; 4and I brought them into Yahweh’s house, into the room of the sons of Hanan the son of Igdaliah, the man of God, which was by the room of the princes, which was above the room of Maaseiah the son of Shallum, the keeper of the threshold. 5I set before the sons of the house of the Rechabites bowls full of wine, and cups; and I said to them, Drink wine! 6But they said, We will drink no wine; for Jonadab the son of Rechab, our father, commanded us, saying, You shall drink no wine, neither you, nor your sons, forever: 7neither shall you build house, nor sow seed, nor plant vineyard, nor have any; but all your days you shall dwell in tents; that you may live many days in the land in which you live. 8We have obeyed the voice of Jonadab the son of Rechab, our father, in all that he commanded us, to drink no wine all our days, we, our wives, our sons, or our daughters; 9nor to build houses for us to dwell in; neither have we vineyard, nor field, nor seed: 10but we have lived in tents, and have obeyed, and done according to all that Jonadab our father commanded us. 11But when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up into the land, we said, “Come, and let us go to Jerusalem for fear of the army of the Chaldeans, and for fear of the army of the Syrians; so we will dwell at Jerusalem.” 12Then Yahweh’s word came to Jeremiah, saying, 13Thus says Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel: Go, and tell the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, Will you not receive instruction to listen to my words? says Yahweh. 14The words of Jonadab the son of Rechab, that he commanded his sons, not to drink wine, are performed; and to this day they drink none, for they obey their father’s commandment: but I have spoken to you, rising up early and speaking; and you have not listened to me. 15I have sent also to you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, Return now every man from his evil way, and amend your doings, and don’t go after other gods to serve them, and you shall dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers: but you have not inclined your ear, nor listened to me. 16Because the sons of Jonadab the son of Rechab have performed the commandment of their father which he commanded them, but this people has not listened to me; 17therefore thus says Yahweh, the God of Armies, the God of Israel: Behold, I will bring on Judah and on all the inhabitants of Jerusalem all the evil that I have pronounced against them; because I have spoken to them, but they have not heard; and I have called to them, but they have not answered. 18Jeremiah said to the house of the Rechabites, Thus says Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel: Because you have obeyed the commandment of Jonadab your father, and kept all his precepts, and done according to all that he commanded you; 19therefore thus says Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel: Jonadab the son of Rechab shall not want a man to stand before me forever.

1Het woord, dat tot Jeremia geschied is van den HEERE, in de dagen van Jojakim, den zoon van Josia, den koning van Juda, zeggende: 2Ga henen tot der Rechabieten huis, en spreek met hen, en breng hen in des HEEREN huis, in een der kameren, en geef hun wijn te drinken. 3Toen nam ik Jaazanja, den zoon van Jeremia, den zoon van Habazzinja, mitsgaders zijn broederen, en al zijn zonen, en het ganse huis der Rechabieten; 4En bracht hen in des HEEREN huis, in de kamer der zonen van Hanan, den zoon van Jigdalia, den man Gods; welke is bij de kamer der oversten, die daar is boven de kamer van Maaseja, den zoon van Sallum, den dorpelbewaarder. 5En ik zette den kinderen van het huis der Rechabieten koppen vol wijn en bekers voor; en ik zeide tot hen: Drinkt wijn. 6Maar zij zeiden: Wij zullen geen wijn drinken; want Jonadab, de zoon van Rechab, onze vader, heeft ons geboden, zeggende: Gijlieden zult geen wijn drinken, gij, noch uw kinderen, tot in eeuwigheid. 7Ook zult gijlieden geen huis bouwen, noch zaad zaaien, noch wijngaard planten, noch hebben; maar gij zult in tenten wonen al uw dagen; opdat gij veel dagen leeft in het land, alwaar gij als vreemdeling verkeert. 8Zo hebben wij der stemme van Jonadab, den zoon van Rechab, onzen vader, gehoorzaamd in alles, wat hij ons geboden heeft; zodat wij geen wijn drinken al onze dagen, wij, onze vrouwen, onze zonen, en onze dochteren; 9En dat wij geen huizen bouwen tot onze woning; ook hebben wij geen wijngaard, noch veld, noch zaad; 10En wij hebben in tenten gewoond; alzo hebben wij gehoord en gedaan naar alles, wat ons onze vader Jonadab geboden heeft. 11Maar het is geschied, als Nebukadrezar, de koning van Babel, naar dit land optoog, dat wij zeiden: Komt, en laat ons naar Jeruzalem trekken vanwege het heir der Chaldeen, en vanwege het heir der Syriers; alzo zijn wij te Jeruzalem gebleven. 12Toen geschiedde des HEEREN woord tot Jeremia, zeggende: 13Zo zegt de HEERE der heirscharen, de God Israels: Ga henen en zeg tot de mannen van Juda en tot de inwoners van Jeruzalem: Zult gijlieden geen tucht aannemen, dat gij hoort naar Mijn woorden? spreekt de HEERE. 14De woorden van Jonadab, den zoon van Rechab, die hij zijn kinderen geboden heeft, dat zij geen wijn zouden drinken, zijn bevestigd; want zij hebben geen wijn gedronken tot op dezen dag, maar het gebod huns vaders gehoord; en Ik heb tot ulieden gesproken, vroeg op zijnde en sprekende, maar gij hebt naar Mij niet gehoord. 15En Ik heb tot u gezonden al Mijn knechten, de profeten, vroeg op zijnde en zendende, om te zeggen: Bekeert u toch, een iegelijk van zijn bozen weg, en maakt uw handelingen goed, en wandelt andere goden niet na, om hen te dienen, zo zult gij in het land blijven, dat Ik u en uw vaderen gegeven heb; maar gij hebt uw oor niet geneigd, en naar Mij niet gehoord. 16Dewijl dan de kinderen van Jonadab, den zoon van Rechab, het gebod huns vaders, dat hij hun geboden heeft, bevestigd hebben, maar dit volk naar Mij niet hoort; 17Daarom alzo zegt de HEERE, de God der heirscharen, de God Israels: Ziet, Ik zal over Juda en over alle inwoners van Jeruzalem brengen al het kwaad, dat Ik tegen hen gesproken heb; omdat Ik tot hen gesproken heb, maar zij niet gehoord hebben, en Ik tot hen geroepen heb, maar zij niet hebben geantwoord. 18Tot het huis nu der Rechabieten zeide Jeremia: Zo zegt de HEERE der heirscharen, de God Israels: Omdat gijlieden het gebod van uw vader Jonadab zijt gehoorzaam geweest, en hebt al zijn geboden bewaard, en gedaan naar alles, wat hij ulieden geboden heeft; 19Daarom alzo zegt de HEERE der heirscharen, de God Israels: Er zal Jonadab, den zoon van Rechab, niet worden afgesneden een man, die voor Mijn aangezicht sta, al de dagen.
