1“Dengarkan aku, hai kamu yang mengejar kebenaran, kamu yang mencari TUHAN. Lihatlah ke gunung batu tempat kamu dipahat, dan pada tambang tempat kamu digali. 2Lihatlah Abraham, nenek moyangmu, dan Sara yang telah melahirkanmu. Sebab, dia masih seorang diri ketika Aku memanggilnya. Aku memberkatinya dan membuatnya bertambah banyak. 3Sungguh, TUHAN akan menghibur Sion. Dia akan menghibur seluruh tempatnya yang terbengkalai; membuat padang belantaranya seperti Taman Eden dan padang gurunnya seperti taman TUHAN. Sukacita dan kegembiraan akan ditemukan di sana, ucapan syukur dan nyanyian pujian. 4“Perhatikanlah Aku, hai umat-Ku, berilah telinga kepada-Ku, hai bangsa-Ku. Sebab, Taurat akan keluar dari-Ku dan Aku akan menetapkan keadilan-Ku sebagai terang bagi bangsa-bangsa. 5Kebenaran-Ku sudah dekat, keselamatan-Ku sudah datang, dan tangan-Ku akan menghakimi bangsa-bangsa. Pulau-pulau menantikan Aku dan untuk tangan-Ku mereka menunggu-nunggu. 6Angkatlah matamu ke langit dan lihatlah bumi di bawahnya! Langit akan lenyap seperti asap, bumi akan usang seperti pakaian, dan penduduknya akan mati seperti nyamuk. Akan tetapi, keselamatan-Ku akan tetap selama-lamanya dan kebenaran-Ku tidak akan berakhir. 7Dengarkanlah Aku, hai kamu yang mengetahui kebenaran, bangsa yang menyimpan Taurat-Ku di dalam hatinya. Jangan takut terhadap hinaan manusia, ataupun kecewa terhadap hujatan mereka. 8Sebab, ngengat akan memakan mereka seperti pakaian dan gegat akan memakan mereka seperti bulu domba. Akan tetapi, kebenaran-Ku akan tetap selama-lamanya dan keselamatan-Ku dari generasi ke generasi.” 9Bangkitlah! Bangkitlah! Kenakan kekuatanmu, hai tangan TUHAN. Bangkitlah seperti pada zaman dahulu, seperti pada generasi-generasi dahulu kala. Bukankah Engkau yang meremukkan Rahab, yang menikam naga itu? 10Bukankah Engkau yang mengeringkan laut, perairan dalam yang besar; yang membuat lautan yang dalam menjadi jalan bagi umat yang ditebus untuk menyeberanginya? 11Umat yang ditebus TUHAN akan kembali dan masuk ke Sion dengan sorak-sorai. Sukacita yang abadi akan ada di atas kepala mereka. Mereka akan mendapatkan kegembiraan dan sukacita, tetapi kesedihan dan keluhan akan menjauh. 12“Aku, Akulah yang menghibur kamu. Siapakah kamu sehingga kamu takut kepada manusia yang akan mati; kepada anak manusia yang dijadikan hanya seperti rumput 13sehingga kamu telah melupakan TUHAN, Penciptamu, yang membentangkan langit dan meletakkan dasar bumi, sehingga kamu terus-menerus ketakutan sepanjang hari karena kemarahan penindasmu, seolah-olah dia siap menghancurkan? Di manakah kemarahan si penindas itu? 14Tawanan yang meringkuk akan segera dibebaskan. Dia tidak akan mati di lubang, ataupun akan kekurangan roti. 15Sebab, Akulah TUHAN, Allahmu, yang mengguncang air laut dan membuat ombak bergemuruh.” TUHAN semesta alam nama-Nya. 16“Aku telah menaruh firman-Ku di dalam mulutmu dan menaungimu dalam bayangan tangan-Ku untuk menegakkan langit dan meletakkan dasar bumi; dan berkata kepada Sion, “Kamu adalah umat-Ku.” 17Bangunlah! Bangunlah! Berdirilah, hai Yerusalem! Kamu telah meminum dari tangan TUHAN cawan murka-Nya. Kamu telah meminum sampai habis isi cawan yang memabukkan itu. 18Tidak ada seorang pun yang membimbingnya, dari antara semua anak yang dilahirkannya. Tidak ada yang menggandeng tangannya dari antara semua anak yang dibesarkannya. 19Kedua hal ini telah menimpamu, siapa yang akan berkabung untukmu? Kemusnahan dan kehancuran, kelaparan dan pedang, siapakah yang akan menghiburmu? 20Anak-anakmu telah pingsan. Mereka tergeletak di setiap ujung jalan seperti kijang dalam jerat. Mereka penuh dengan murka TUHAN, dengan teguran Allahmu. 21Karena itu, sekarang dengarkanlah ini, hai, kamu yang menderita, yang mabuk, tetapi bukan oleh anggur: 22Beginilah perkataan Tuhanmu, TUHAN, Allahmu, yang memperjuangkan perkara umat-Nya, “Lihatlah, Aku telah mengambil dari tanganmu cawan yang memabukkan itu, cawan murka-Ku; kamu tidak akan meminumnya lagi. 23Aku akan meletakkannya di tangan mereka yang menyiksamu, yang telah berkata kepadamu, ‘Sujudlah supaya kami bisa berjalan di atasmu.’ Kamu telah menjadikan punggungmu seperti tanah, dan seperti jalan bagi mereka untuk berjalan di atasnya.”
1“Listen to me, you who follow after righteousness, you who seek Yahweh: look to the rock you were cut from, and to the hold of the pit you were dug from. 2Look to Abraham your father, and to Sarah who bore you; for when he was but one I called him, and I blessed him, and made him many. 3For Yahweh has comforted Zion; he has comforted all her waste places, and has made her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of Yahweh; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody. 4“Attend to me, my people; and give ear to me, my nation: for a law shall go out from me, and I will establish my justice for a light of the peoples. 5My righteousness is near, my salvation has gone out, and my arms shall judge the peoples; the islands shall wait for me, and on my arm shall they trust. 6Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look on the earth beneath; for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment; and those who dwell therein shall die in the same way: but my salvation shall be forever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished. 7“Listen to me, you who know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my law; don’t fear the reproach of men, neither be dismayed at their insults. 8For the moth shall eat them up like a garment, and the worm shall eat them like wool; but my righteousness shall be forever, and my salvation to all generations.” 9Awake, awake, put on strength, arm of Yahweh; awake, as in the days of old, the generations of ancient times. Isn’t it you who cut Rahab in pieces, who pierced the monster? 10Isn’t it you who dried up the sea, the waters of the great deep; who made the depths of the sea a way for the redeemed to pass over? 11The ransomed of Yahweh shall return, and come with singing to Zion; and everlasting joy shall be on their heads. They shall obtain gladness and joy. Sorrow and sighing shall flee away. 12“I, even I, am he who comforts you: who are you, that you are afraid of man who shall die, and of the son of man who shall be made as grass; 13and have forgotten Yahweh your Maker, who stretched out the heavens, and laid the foundations of the earth; and fear continually all the day because of the fury of the oppressor, when he makes ready to destroy? and where is the fury of the oppressor? 14The captive exile shall speedily be freed; and he shall not die and go down into the pit, neither shall his bread fail. 15For I am Yahweh your God, who stirs up the sea, so that its waves roar: Yahweh of Armies is his name. 16I have put my words in your mouth, and have covered you in the shadow of my hand, that I may plant the heavens, and lay the foundations of the earth, and tell Zion, ‘You are my people.’” 17Awake, awake, stand up, Jerusalem, that have drunk at the hand of Yahweh the cup of his wrath; you have drunken the bowl of the cup of staggering, and drained it. 18There is no one to guide her among all the sons to whom she has given birth; neither is there any who takes her by the hand among all the sons who she has brought up. 19These two things have happened to you. Who will bemoan you? Desolation and destruction, and the famine and the sword; how shall I comfort you? 20Your sons have fainted, they lie at the head of all the streets, as an antelope in a net; they are full of the wrath of Yahweh, the rebuke of your God. 21Therefore hear now this, you afflicted, and drunken, but not with wine: 22Thus says your Lord Yahweh, and your God who pleads the cause of his people, “Behold, I have taken out of your hand the cup of staggering, even the bowl of the cup of my wrath; you shall no more drink it again: 23and I will put it into the hand of those who afflict you, who have said to your soul, ‘Bow down, that we may walk over you;’ and you have laid your back as the ground, and as the street, to those who walk over.”
1Hoort naar Mij, gij, die de gerechtigheid najaagt, gij, die den HEERE zoekt! aanschouwt den rotssteen, waaruit gijlieden gehouwen zijt, en de holligheid des bornputs, waaruit gij gegraven zijt. 2Aanschouwt Abraham, ulieder vader, en Sara, die ulieden gebaard heeft; want Ik riep hem, toen hij nog alleen was, en Ik zegende hem, en Ik vermenigvuldigde hem. 3Want de HEERE zal Sion troosten, Hij zal troosten al haar woeste plaatsen, en Hij zal haar woestijn maken als Eden, en haar wildernis als den hof des HEEREN; vreugde en blijdschap zal daarin gevonden worden, dankzegging en een stem des gezangs. 4Luistert naar Mij, Mijn volk! en Mijn lieden, neigt naar Mij het oor! want een wet zal van Mij uitgaan, en Ik zal Mijn recht doen rusten tot een licht der volken. 5Mijn gerechtigheid is nabij, Mijn heil trekt uit, en Mijn armen zullen de volken richten; op Mij zullen de eilanden wachten, en op Mijn arm zullen zij hopen. 6Heft ulieder ogen op naar den hemel, en aanschouwt de aarde beneden; want de hemel zal als een rook verdwijnen, en de aarde zal als een kleed verouden, en haar inwoners zullen van gelijken sterven; maar Mijn heil zal in eeuwigheid zijn, Mijn gerechtigheid zal niet verbroken worden. 7Hoort naar Mij, gijlieden, die de gerechtigheid kent, gij volk, in welks hart Mijn wet is! vreest niet de smaadheid van den mens, en voor hun smaadredenen ontzet u niet. 8Want de mot zal ze opeten als een kleed, en het schietwormpje zal ze opeten als wol; maar Mijn gerechtigheid zal in eeuwigheid zijn, en Mijn heil van geslacht tot geslachten. 9Ontwaak, ontwaak, trek sterkte aan, Gij arm des HEEREN! ontwaak als in de verledene dagen, als in de geslachten van ouds; zijt Gij het niet, Die Rahab uitgehouwen hebt, Die den zeedraak verwond hebt? 10Zijt Gij het niet, Die de zee, de wateren des groten afgronds, droog gemaakt hebt? Die de diepten der zee gemaakt hebt tot een weg, opdat de verlosten daardoor gingen? 11Alzo zullen de vrijgekochten des HEEREN wederkeren, en met gejuich tot Sion komen; en eeuwige blijdschap zal op hun hoofd wezen; vreugde en blijdschap zullen zij aangrijpen, treuring en zuchting zullen wegvlieden. 12Ik, Ik ben het, Die u troost; wie zijt gij, dat gij vreest voor den mens, die sterven zal? en voor eens mensen kind, dat hooi worden zal? 13En vergeet den HEERE, Die u gemaakt heeft, Die de hemelen heeft uitgebreid, en de aarde gegrond heeft, en vreest geduriglijk den gansen dag, vanwege de grimmigheid des benauwers, wanneer hij zich bereidt om te verderven? Waar is dan de grimmigheid des benauwers? 14De omzwevende gevangene zal haastelijk los gelaten worden; en hij zal in den kuil niet sterven, en zijn brood zal hem niet ontbreken. 15Want Ik ben de HEERE, uw God, Die de zee klieft, dat haar golven bruisen; HEERE der heirscharen is Zijn Naam. 16En Ik leg Mijn woorden in uw mond, en bedek u onder de schaduw Mijner hand; om den hemel te planten, en om de aarde te gronden, en om te zeggen tot Sion: Gij zijt Mijn volk. 17Waak op, waak op, sta op, Jeruzalem! gij, die gedronken hebt van de hand des HEEREN den beker Zijner grimmigheid; den droesem van den beker der zwijmeling hebt gij gedronken, ja, uitgezogen. 18Er is niemand van al de kinderen, die zij gebaard heeft, die haar zachtjes leidt; en niemand van al de kinderen, die zij opgevoed heeft, die haar bij de hand grijpt. 19Deze twee dingen zijn u wedervaren, wie heeft medelijden met u? Er is verwoesting, en verbreking, en honger, en zwaard, door wien zal Ik u troosten? 20Uw kinderen zijn in bezwijming gevallen, zij liggen vooraan op alle straten, gelijk een wilde os in het net; zij zijn vol van de grimmigheid des HEEREN, van de schelding uws Gods. 21Daarom hoort nu dit, gij bedrukten! en gij dronkenen, maar niet van wijn! 22Alzo zegt uw Heere, de HEERE en uw God, Die Zijns volks zaak twisten zal: Zie, Ik neem den beker der zwijmeling van uw hand, den droesem van den beker Mijner grimmigheid; gij zult dien voortaan niet meer drinken. 23Maar Ik zal hem dien, die u bedroefd hebben, in de hand zetten, die tot uw ziel zeiden: Buig u neder, dat wij over u gaan; en gij legdet uw rug neder als aarde, en als een straat dergenen, die daarover gaan.
