Yesaya 15

1Inilah pesan ilahi tentang Moab: Sungguh, dalam satu malam Ar-Moab dihancurkan dan dilenyapkan. Sungguh, dalam satu malam Kir-Moab dihancurkan dan dilenyapkan. 2Mereka telah naik ke kuil dan ke Dibon, ke tempat-tempat yang tinggi untuk menangis. Moab meratapi Nebo dan Medeba, setiap kepala digunduli dan setiap janggut dicukur. 3Di jalan-jalan, mereka mengenakan kain kabung, di atas atap rumah dan di tempat-tempat umum, setiap orang menangis tersedu-sedu dengan air mata bercucuran. 4Hesybon dan Eleale menangis dengan suara keras, suara tangis mereka bahkan kedengaran hingga ke Yahas. Oleh karena itu, orang-orang Moab yang bersenjata berteriak-teriak, jiwa mereka gemetar. 5Hatiku menjerit karena Moab. Para pelariannya melarikan diri hingga ke Zoar, ke Eglat-Selisia. Sungguh, di pendakian Luhit dengan menangis. Di jalan menuju Horonaim mereka meneriakkan tangisan atas kehancuran mereka. 6Sungguh, air di Nimrim menjadi kering, rumputnya layu, rumput muda telah habis. Tidak ada lagi tumbuhan hijau. 7Oleh karena itu, kelimpahan yang telah mereka peroleh dan mereka simpan, akan mereka angkut ke Sungai Haarabim. 8Sebab, tangisan kesedihan telah menyelubungi seluruh daerah Moab, isak tangisnya sampai ke Eglaim dan Beer-Elim. 9Sebab, air dari Dibon penuh dengan darah. Sesungguhnya, Aku akan menambahkan apa yang menimpa Dibon, yaitu seekor singa bagi orang-orang Moab yang terluput, dan bagi orang-orang yang tersisa di negeri itu.

1The burden of Moab: for in a night, Ar of Moab is laid waste, and brought to nothing; for in a night Kir of Moab is laid waste, and brought to nothing. 2They have gone up to Bayith, and to Dibon, to the high places, to weep. Moab wails over Nebo and over Medeba. Baldness is on all of their heads. Every beard is cut off. 3In their streets, they clothe themselves in sackcloth. In their streets and on their housetops, everyone wails, weeping abundantly. 4Heshbon cries out with Elealeh. Their voice is heard even to Jahaz. Therefore the armed men of Moab cry aloud. Their souls tremble within them. 5My heart cries out for Moab! Her nobles flee to Zoar, to Eglath Shelishiyah; for they go up by the ascent of Luhith with weeping; for on the way to Horonaim, they raise up a cry of destruction. 6For the waters of Nimrim will be desolate; for the grass has withered away, the tender grass fails, there is no green thing. 7Therefore they will carry away the abundance they have gotten, and that which they have stored up, over the brook of the willows. 8For the cry has gone around the borders of Moab; its wailing to Eglaim, and its wailing to Beer Elim. 9For the waters of Dimon are full of blood; for I will bring yet more on Dimon, a lion on those of Moab who escape, and on the remnant of the land.

1De last van Moab. Zekerlijk, in den nacht is Ar-Moabs verwoest, zij is uitgeroeid; zekerlijk, in den nacht is Kir-Moabs verwoest, zij is uitgeroeid! 2Hij gaat op naar Baith en Dibon, en naar Bamoth, om te wenen; over Nebo en over Medeba zal Moab huilen; op al hun hoofden is kaalheid, aller baard is afgesneden. 3Op hun wijken hebben zij zakken aangegord; op hun daken en op hun straten huilen zij altemaal, afgaande met geween. 4Zo Hesbon als Eleale schreeuwt, hun stem wordt gehoord tot Jahaz toe; daarom maken de toegerusten van Moab een geschrei, eens iegelijks ziel in hem is kwalijk gesteld. 5Mijn hart schreeuwt over Moab, haar grendelen zijn naar Zoar toe, de driejarige vaars; want hij gaat op met geween naar den opgang van Luhith, want op den weg naar Horonaim verwekken zij een jammergeschrei. 6Want de wateren van Nimrim zullen enkel verwoesting wezen; want het gras is verdord, het tedere gras is vergaan, er is geen groente. 7Daarom zullen zij den overvloed, dien zij vergaderd hebben, en hetgeen zij weggelegd hebben, aan de beek der wilgen voeren. 8Want dat geschreeuw zal omgaan door de landpale van Moab, haar gehuil tot Eglaim toe, ja, tot Beer-Elim toe zal haar gehuil zijn. 9Want de wateren van Dimon zijn vol bloeds, want Ik zal Dimon nog meer toeschikken: te weten leeuwen over de ontkomenen van Moab, mitsgaders over het overblijfsel des lands.
