1Y FUÉ Moisés, y habló estas palabras á todo Israel, 2Y díjoles: De edad de ciento y veinte años soy hoy día; no puedo más salir ni entrar: á más de esto Jehová me ha dicho: No pasarás este Jordán. 3Jehová tu Dios, él pasa delante de ti; él destruirá estas gentes de delante de ti, y las heredarás: Josué será el que pasará delante de ti, como Jehová ha dicho. 4Y hará Jehová con ellos como hizo con Sehón y con Og, reyes de los Amorrheos, y con su tierra, que los destruyó. 5Y los entregará Jehová delante de vosotros, y haréis con ellos conforme á todo lo que os he mandado. 6Esforzaos y cobrad ánimo; no temáis, ni tengáis miedo de ellos: que Jehová tu Dios es el que va contigo: no te dejará ni te desamparará. 7Y llamó Moisés á Josué, y díjole á vista de todo Israel: Esfuérzate y anímate; porque tú entrarás con este pueblo á la tierra que juró Jehová á sus padres que les había de dar, y tú se la harás heredar. 8Y Jehová es el que va delante de ti; él será contigo, no te dejará, ni te desamparará; no temas, ni te intimides. 9Y escribió Moisés esta ley, y dióla á los sacerdotes, hijos de Leví, que llevaban el arca del pacto de Jehová, y á todos los ancianos de Israel. 10Y mandóles Moisés, diciendo: Al cabo del séptimo año, en el año de la remisión, en la fiesta de las Cabañas, 11Cuando viniere todo Israel á presentarse delante de Jehová tu Dios en el lugar que él escogiere, leerás esta ley delante de todo Israel á oídos de ellos. 12Harás congregar el pueblo, varones y mujeres y niños, y tus extranjeros que estuvieren en tus ciudades, para que oigan y aprendan, y teman á Jehová vuestro Dios, y cuiden de poner por obra todas las palabras de esta ley: 13Y los hijos de ellos que no supieron oigan, y aprendan á temer á Jehová vuestro Dios todos los días que viviereis sobre la tierra, para ir á la cual pasáis el Jordán para poseerla. 14Y Jehová dijo á Moisés: He aquí se han acercado tus días para que mueras: llama á Josué, y esperad en el tabernáculo del testimonio, y le mandaré. Fueron pues Moisés y Josué, y esperaron en el tabernáculo del testimonio. 15Y aparecióse Jehová en el tabernáculo, en la columna de nube; y la columna de nube se puso sobre la puerta del tabernáculo. 16Y Jehová dijo á Moisés: He aquí tú vas á dormir con tus padres, y este pueblo se levantará y fornicará tras los dioses ajenos de la tierra adonde va, en estando en medio de ella; y me dejará, é invalidará mi pacto que he concertado con él: 17Y mi furor se encenderá contra él en aquel día; y los abandonaré, y esconderé de ellos mi rostro, y serán consumidos; y le hallarán muchos males y angustias, y dirá en aquel día: ¿No me han hallado estos males porque no está mi Dios en medio de mí? 18Empero yo esconderé ciertamente mi rostro en aquel día, por todo el mal que ellos habrán hecho, por haberse vuelto á dioses ajenos. 19Ahora pues, escribíos este cántico, y enséñalo á los hijos de Israel: ponlo en boca de ellos, para que este cántico me sea por testigo contra los hijos de Israel. 20Porque yo le introduciré en la tierra que juré á sus padres, la cual fluye leche y miel; y comerá, y se hartará, y se engordará: y volveránse á dioses ajenos, y les servirán, y me enojarán, é invalidarán mi pacto. 21Y será que cuando le vinieren muchos males y angustias, entonces responderá en su cara este cántico como testigo, pues no caerá en olvido de la boca de su linaje: porque yo conozco su ingenio, y lo que hace hoy antes que le introduzca en la tierra que juré. 22Y Moisés escribió este cántico aquel día, y enseñólo á los hijos de Israel. 23Y dió orden á Josué hijo de Nun, y dijo: Esfuérzate y anímate, que tú meterás los hijos de Israel en la tierra que les juré, y yo seré contigo. 24Y como acabó Moisés de escribir las palabras de esta ley en un libro hasta concluirse, 25Mandó Moisés á los Levitas que llevaban el arca del pacto de Jehová, diciendo: 26Tomad este libro de la ley, y ponedlo al lado del arca del pacto de Jehová vuestro Dios, y esté allí por testigo contra ti. 27Porque yo conozco tu rebelión, y tu cerviz dura: he aquí que aun viviendo yo hoy con vosotros, sois rebeldes á Jehová; y ¿cuánto más después que yo fuere muerto? 28Congregad á mí todos los ancianos de vuestras tribus, y á vuestros oficiales, y hablaré en sus oídos estas palabras, y llamaré por testigos contra ellos los cielos y la tierra. 29Porque yo sé que después de mi muerte, ciertamente os corromperéis y os aparteréis del camino que os he mandado; y que os ha de venir mal en los postreros días, por haber hecho mal en ojos de Jehová, enojándole con la obra de vuestras manos. 30Entonces habló Moisés en oídos de toda la congregación de Israel las palabras de este cántico hasta acabarlo.
1Moses went and spoke these words to all Israel. 2He said to them, “I am one hundred twenty years old this day. I can no more go out and come in. Yahweh has said to me, ‘You shall not go over this Jordan.’ 3Yahweh your God himself will go over before you. He will destroy these nations from before you, and you shall dispossess them. Joshua will go over before you, as Yahweh has spoken. 4Yahweh will do to them as he did to Sihon and to Og, the kings of the Amorites, and to their land; whom he destroyed. 5Yahweh will deliver them up before you, and you shall do to them according to all the commandment which I have commanded you. 6Be strong and courageous. Don’t be afraid or scared of them; for Yahweh your God himself is who goes with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you.” 7Moses called to Joshua, and said to him in the sight of all Israel, “Be strong and courageous, for you shall go with this people into the land which Yahweh has sworn to their fathers to give them; and you shall cause them to inherit it. 8Yahweh himself is who goes before you. He will be with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you. Don’t be afraid. Don’t be discouraged.” 9Moses wrote this law, and delivered it to the priests the sons of Levi, who bore the ark of the covenant of Yahweh, and to all the elders of Israel. 10Moses commanded them, saying, “At the end of every seven years, in the set time of the year of release, in the feast of tents, 11when all Israel has come to appear before Yahweh your God in the place which he will choose, you shall read this law before all Israel in their hearing. 12Assemble the people, the men and the women and the little ones, and the foreigners who are within your gates, that they may hear, and that they may learn, and fear Yahweh your God, and observe to do all the words of this law; 13and that their children, who have not known, may hear, and learn to fear Yahweh your God, as long as you live in the land where you go over the Jordan to possess it.” 14Yahweh said to Moses, “Behold, your days approach that you must die. Call Joshua, and present yourselves in the Tent of Meeting, that I may commission him.” Moses and Joshua went, and presented themselves in the Tent of Meeting. 15Yahweh appeared in the Tent in a pillar of cloud, and the pillar of cloud stood over the Tent’s door. 16Yahweh said to Moses, “Behold, you shall sleep with your fathers. This people will rise up, and play the prostitute after the strange gods of the land, where they go to be among them, and will forsake me, and break my covenant which I have made with them. 17Then my anger shall be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide my face from them, and they shall be devoured, and many evils and troubles shall come on them; so that they will say in that day, ‘Haven’t these evils come on us because our God is not among us?’ 18I will surely hide my face in that day for all the evil which they have done, in that they have turned to other gods. 19“Now therefore write this song for yourselves, and teach it to the children of Israel. Put it in their mouths, that this song may be a witness for me against the children of Israel. 20For when I have brought them into the land which I swore to their fathers, flowing with milk and honey, and they have eaten and filled themselves, and grown fat; then they will turn to other gods, and serve them, and despise me, and break my covenant. 21It will happen, when many evils and troubles have come on them, that this song will testify before them as a witness; for it will not be forgotten out of the mouths of their descendants; for I know their ways and what they are doing this day, before I have brought them into the land which I swore.” 22So Moses wrote this song the same day, and taught it the children of Israel. 23He commissioned Joshua the son of Nun, and said, “Be strong and courageous; for you shall bring the children of Israel into the land which I swore to them. I will be with you.” 24When Moses had made an end of writing the words of this law in a book, until they were finished, 25Moses commanded the Levites, who bore the ark of the covenant of Yahweh, saying, 26“Take this book of the law, and put it by the side of the ark of the covenant of Yahweh your God, that it may be there for a witness against you. 27For I know your rebellion, and your stiff neck. Behold, while I am yet alive with you this day, you have been rebellious against Yahweh. How much more after my death? 28Assemble to me all the elders of your tribes, and your officers, that I may speak these words in their ears, and call heaven and earth to witness against them. 29For I know that after my death you will utterly corrupt yourselves, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will happen to you in the latter days; because you will do that which is evil in the sight of Yahweh, to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands.” 30Moses spoke in the ears of all the assembly of Israel the words of this song, until they were finished.
1Daarna ging Mozes heen, en sprak deze woorden tot gans Israel, 2En zeide tot hen: Ik ben heden honderd en twintig jaren oud; ik zal niet meer kunnen uitgaan en ingaan; daartoe heeft de HEERE tot mij gezegd: Gij zult over deze Jordaan niet gaan. 3De HEERE, uw God, Die zal voor uw aangezicht overgaan; Die zal deze volken van voor uw aangezicht verdelgen, dat gij hen erfelijk bezit. Jozua zal voor uw aangezicht overgaan, gelijk als de HEERE gesproken heeft. 4En de HEERE zal hun doen, gelijk als Hij aan Sihon en Og, koningen der Amorieten, en aan hun land, gedaan heeft, die Hij verdelgd heeft. 5Wanneer hen nu de HEERE voor uw aangezicht zal gegeven hebben, dan zult gij hun doen naar alle gebod, dat ik ulieden geboden heb. 6Weest sterk en hebt goeden moed, en vreest niet, en verschrikt niet voor hun aangezicht; want het is de HEERE, uw God, Die met u gaat; Hij zal u niet begeven, noch u verlaten. 7En Mozes riep Jozua, en zeide tot hem voor de ogen van gans Israel: Wees sterk en heb goeden moed, want gij zult met dit volk ingaan in het land dat de HEERE hun vaderen gezworen heeft, hun te zullen geven; en gij zult het hun doen erven. 8De HEERE nu is Degene, Die voor uw aangezicht gaat; Die zal met u zijn; Hij zal u niet begeven, noch u verlaten; vrees niet, en ontzet u niet. 9En Mozes schreef deze wet, en gaf ze aan de priesteren, de zonen van Levi, die de ark des verbonds des HEEREN droegen, en aan alle oudsten van Israel. 10En Mozes gebood hun, zeggende: Ten einde van zeven jaren, op den gezetten tijd van het jaar der vrijlating, op het feest der loofhutten. 11Als gans Israel zal komen, om te verschijnen voor het aangezicht des HEEREN, uws Gods, in de plaats, die Hij zal verkoren hebben, zult gij deze wet voor gans Israel uitroepen, voor hun oren; 12Vergadert het volk, de mannen, en de vrouwen, en de kinderen, en uw vreemdelingen, die in uw poorten zijn; opdat zij horen, en opdat zij leren, en vrezen den HEERE, uw God, en waarnemen te doen alle woorden dezer wet. 13En dat hun kinderen, die het niet geweten hebben, horen en leren, om te vrezen den HEERE, uw God, al de dagen, die gij leeft op het land, naar hetwelk gij over de Jordaan zijt heengaande, om dat te erven. 14En de HEERE zeide tot Mozes: Zie, uw dagen zijn genaderd, om te sterven; roep Jozua, en stelt ulieden in de tent der samenkomst, dat Ik hem bevel geve. Zo ging Mozes, en Jozua, en zij stelden zich in de tent der samenkomst. 15Toen verscheen de HEERE in de tent, in de wolkkolom; en de wolkkolom stond boven de deur der tent. 16En de HEERE zeide tot Mozes: Zie, gij zult slapen met uw vaderen; en dit volk zal opstaan, en nahoereren de goden der vreemden van dat land, waar het naar toe gaat, in het midden van hetzelve; en het zal Mij verlaten en vernietigen Mijn verbond, dat Ik met hetzelve gemaakt heb. 17Zo zal Mijn toorn te dien dage tegen hetzelve ontsteken, en Ik zal hen verlaten, en Mijn aangezicht van hen verbergen, dat zij ter spijze zijn, en vele kwaden en benauwdheden zullen het treffen; dat het te dien dage zal zeggen: Hebben mij deze kwaden niet getroffen, omdat mijn God in het midden van mij niet is? 18Ik dan zal Mijn aangezicht te dien dage ganselijk verbergen, om al het kwaad, dat het gedaan heeft; want het heeft zich gewend tot andere goden. 19En nu, schrijft ulieden dit lied, en leert het den kinderen Israels; legt het in hun mond; opdat dit lied Mij ten getuige zij tegen de kinderen Israels. 20Want Ik zal dit volk inbrengen in het land, dat Ik zijn vaderen gezworen heb, vloeiende van melk en honig, en het zal eten, en verzadigd, en vet worden; dan zal het zich wenden tot andere goden, en hen dienen, en zij zullen Mij tergen, en Mijn verbond vernietigen. 21En het zal geschieden, wanneer vele kwaden en benauwdheden hetzelve zullen treffen, dan zal dit lied voor zijn aangezicht antwoorden tot getuige; want het zal uit den mond zijns zaads niet vergeten worden; dewijl Ik weet zijn gedichtsel dat het heden maakt, aleer Ik het inbreng in het land, dat Ik gezworen heb. 22Zo schreef Mozes dit lied te dien dage, en hij leerde het den kinderen Israels. 23En Hij gebood Jozua, den zoon van Nun, en zeide: Zijt sterk en heb goeden moed, want gij zult de kinderen Israels inbrengen in het land, dat Ik hun gezworen heb; en Ik zal met u zijn. 24En het geschiedde, als Mozes voleind had de woorden dezer wet te schrijven in een boek, totdat zij voltrokken waren; 25Zo gebood Mozes den Levieten, die de ark des verbonds des HEEREN droegen, zeggende: 26Neemt dit wetboek, en legt het aan de zijde van de ark des verbonds des HEEREN, uws Gods, dat het aldaar zij ten getuige tegen u. 27Want ik ken uw wederspannigheid, en uw harden nek. Ziet, terwijl ik nog heden met ulieden leve, zijt gij wederspannig geweest tegen den HEERE; hoe veel te meer na mijn dood! 28Vergadert tot mij al de oudsten uwer stammen, en uw ambtlieden; dat ik voor hun oren deze woorden spreke, en tegen hen den hemel en de aarde tot getuigen neme. 29Want ik weet, dat gij het na mijn dood zekerlijk zult verderven, en afwijken van den weg, dien ik u geboden heb; dan zal u dit kwaad in het laatste der dagen ontmoeten, wanneer gij zult gedaan hebben, dat kwaad is in de ogen des HEEREN, om Hem door het werk uwer handen tot toorn te verwekken. 30Toen sprak Mozes, voor de oren der ganse gemeente van Israel, de woorden dezes lieds, totdat zij voltrokken waren.
