1Y VOLVIMOS, y subimos camino de Basán, y saliónos al encuentro Og rey de Basán para pelear, él y todo su pueblo, en Edrei. 2Y díjome Jehová: No tengas temor de él, porque en tu mano he entregado á él y á todo su pueblo, y su tierra: y harás con él como hiciste con Sehón rey Amorrheo, que habitaba en Hesbón. 3Y Jehová nuestro Dios entregó también en nuestra mano á Og rey de Basán, y á todo su pueblo, al cual herimos hasta no quedar de él ninguno. 4Y tomamos entonces todas sus ciudades; no quedó ciudad que no les tomásemos: sesenta ciudades, toda la tierra de Argob, del reino de Og en Basán. 5Todas éstas eran ciudades fortalecidas con alto muro, con puertas y barras; sin otras muy muchas ciudades sin muro. 6Y destruímoslas, como hicimos á Sehón rey de Hesbón, destruyendo en toda ciudad hombres, mujeres, y niños. 7Y tomamos para nosotros todas las bestias, y los despojos de las ciudades. 8También tomamos en aquel tiempo de mano de dos reyes Amorrheos que estaban de esta parte del Jordán, la tierra desde el arroyo de Arnón hasta el monte de Hermón: 9(Los Sidonios llaman á Hermón Sirión; y los Amorrheos, Senir:) 10Todas las ciudades de la llanura, y todo Galaad, y todo Basán hasta Salchâ y Edrei, ciudades del reino de Og en Basán. 11Porque sólo Og rey de Basán había quedado de los gigantes que quedaron. He aquí su cama, una cama de hierro, ¿no está en Rabbath de los hijos de Ammón?; la longitud de ella de nueve codos, y su anchura de cuatro codos, al codo de un hombre. 12Y esta tierra que heredamos entonces desde Aroer, que está al arroyo de Arnón, y la mitad del monte de Galaad con sus ciudades, dí á los Rubenitas y á los Gaditas: 13Y el resto de Galaad, y todo Basán, del reino de Og, dílo á la media tribu de Manasés; toda la tierra de Argob, todo Basán, que se llamaba la tierra de los gigantes. 14Jair hijo de Manasés tomó toda la tierra de Argob hasta el término de Gessuri y Machâti; y llamóla de su nombre Basán-havoth-jair, hasta hoy. 15Y á Machîr dí á Galaad. 16Y á los Rubenitas y Gaditas dí de Galaad hasta el arroyo de Arnón, el medio del arroyo por término; hasta el arroyo de Jaboc, término de los hijos de Ammón: 17Asimismo la campiña, y el Jordán, y el término, desde Cinereth hasta la mar del llano, el mar Salado, las vertientes abajo del Pisga al oriente. 18Y os mandé entonces, diciendo: Jehová vuestro Dios os ha dado esta tierra para que la poseáis: pasaréis armados delante de vuestros hermanos los hijos de Israel todos los valientes. 19Solamente vuestras mujeres, vuestros niños, y vuestros ganados, (yo sé que tenéis mucho ganado,) quedarán en vuestras ciudades que os he dado, 20Hasta que Jehová dé reposo á vuestros hermanos, así como á vosotros, y hereden también ellos la tierra que Jehová vuestro Dios les da á la otra parte del Jordán: entonces os volveréis cada uno á su heredad que yo os he dado. 21Mandé también á Josué entonces, diciendo: Tus ojos vieron todo lo que Jehová vuestro Dios ha hecho á aquellos dos reyes: así hará Jehová á todos los reinos á los cuales pasarás tú. 22No los temáis; que Jehová vuestro Dios, él es el que pelea por vosotros. 23Y oré á Jehová en aquel tiempo, diciendo: 24Señor Jehová, tú has comenzado á mostrar á tu siervo tu grandeza, y tu mano fuerte: porque ¿qué dios hay en el cielo ni en la tierra que haga según tus obras, y según tus valentías? 25Pase yo, ruégote, y vea aquella tierra buena, que está á la parte allá del Jordán, aquel buen monte, y el Líbano. 26Mas Jehová se había enojado contra mí por causa de vosotros, por lo cual no me oyó: y díjome Jehová: Bástate, no me hables más de este negocio. 27Sube á la cumbre del Pisga, y alza tus ojos al occidente, y al aquilón, y al mediodía, y al oriente, y ve por tus ojos: porque no pasarás este Jordán. 28Y manda á Josué, y anímalo, y confórtalo; porque él ha de pasar delante de este pueblo, y él les hará heredar la tierra que verás. 29Y paramos en el valle delante de Beth-peor.
1Then we turned, and went up the way to Bashan. Og the king of Bashan came out against us, he and all his people, to battle at Edrei. 2Yahweh said to me, “Don’t fear him; for I have delivered him, with all his people, and his land, into your hand. You shall do to him as you did to Sihon king of the Amorites, who lived at Heshbon.” 3So Yahweh our God delivered into our hand Og also, the king of Bashan, and all his people. We struck him until no one was left to him remaining. 4We took all his cities at that time. There was not a city which we didn’t take from them; sixty cities, all the region of Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan. 5All these were cities fortified with high walls, gates, and bars; besides a great many towns without walls. 6We utterly destroyed them, as we did to Sihon king of Heshbon, utterly destroying every inhabited city, with the women and the little ones. 7But all the livestock, and the plunder of the cities, we took for plunder for ourselves. 8We took the land at that time out of the hand of the two kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan, from the valley of the Arnon to Mount Hermon. 9(The Sidonians call Hermon Sirion, and the Amorites call it Senir.) 10We took all the cities of the plain, and all Gilead, and all Bashan, to Salecah and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan. 11(For only Og king of Bashan remained of the remnant of the Rephaim. Behold, his bedstead was a bedstead of iron. Isn’t it in Rabbah of the children of Ammon? Nine cubits was its length, and four cubits its breadth, after the cubit of a man.) 12This land we took in possession at that time: from Aroer, which is by the valley of the Arnon, and half the hill country of Gilead, and its cities, gave I to the Reubenites and to the Gadites: 13and the rest of Gilead, and all Bashan, the kingdom of Og, gave I to the half-tribe of Manasseh; all the region of Argob, even all Bashan. (The same is called the land of Rephaim. 14Jair the son of Manasseh took all the region of Argob, to the border of the Geshurites and the Maacathites, and called them, even Bashan, after his own name, Havvoth Jair, to this day.) 15I gave Gilead to Machir. 16To the Reubenites and to the Gadites I gave from Gilead even to the valley of the Arnon, the middle of the valley, and its border, even to the river Jabbok, which is the border of the children of Ammon; 17the Arabah also, and the Jordan and its border, from Chinnereth even to the sea of the Arabah, the Salt Sea, under the slopes of Pisgah eastward. 18I commanded you at that time, saying, “Yahweh your God has given you this land to possess it. You shall pass over armed before your brothers the children of Israel, all the men of valor. 19But your wives, and your little ones, and your livestock, (I know that you have much livestock), shall live in your cities which I have given you, 20until Yahweh gives rest to your brothers, as to you, and they also possess the land which Yahweh your God gives them beyond the Jordan. Then you shall each return to his own possession, which I have given you.” 21I commanded Joshua at that time, saying, “Your eyes have seen all that Yahweh your God has done to these two kings. So shall Yahweh do to all the kingdoms where you go over. 22You shall not fear them; for Yahweh your God himself fights for you.” 23I begged Yahweh at that time, saying, 24“Lord Yahweh, you have begun to show your servant your greatness, and your strong hand. For what god is there in heaven or in earth that can do works like yours, and mighty acts like yours? 25Please let me go over and see the good land that is beyond the Jordan, that fine mountain, and Lebanon.” 26But Yahweh was angry with me for your sakes, and didn’t listen to me. Yahweh said to me, “Let this satisfy you. Speak no more to me of this matter. 27Go up to the top of Pisgah, and lift up your eyes westward, and northward, and southward, and eastward, and see with your eyes; for you shall not go over this Jordan. 28But commission Joshua, and encourage him, and strengthen him; for he shall go over before this people, and he shall cause them to inherit the land which you shall see.” 29So we stayed in the valley near Beth Peor.
1Daarna keerden wij ons en togen op, den weg van Bazan; en Og, de koning van Bazan, trok uit ons tegemoet, hij en al zijn volk, ten strijde bij Edrei. 2Toen zeide de HEERE tot mij: Vrees hem niet, want Ik heb hem, en al zijn volk, en zijn land, in uw hand gegeven; en gij zult hem doen, gelijk als gij Sihon, den koning der Amorieten, die te Hesbon woonde, gedaan hebt. 3En de HEERE, onze God, gaf ook Og, den koning van Bazan, en al zijn volk, in onze hand, zodat wij hem sloegen, totdat wij hem niemand lieten overblijven. 4En wij namen te dier tijd al zijn steden; er was geen stad, die wij van hen niet namen: zestig steden, de ganse landstreek van Argob, het koninkrijk van Og in Bazan. 5Al die steden waren met hoge muren, poorten en grendelen gesterkt, behalve zeer vele onbemuurde steden. 6En wij verbanden dezelve, gelijk wij Sihon, den koning van Hesbon, gedaan hadden, verbannende alle steden, mannen, vrouwen en kinderen. 7Doch al het vee en den roof van die steden roofden wij voor ons. 8Zo namen wij te dier tijd het land uit de hand van de twee koningen der Amorieten, die aan deze zijde van de Jordaan waren, van de beek Arnon tot den berg Hermon toe; 9(De Zidoniers noemen Hermon Sirjon; maar de Amorieten noemen hem Senir.) 10Al de steden des platten lands, en het ganse Gilead, en het ganse Bazan, tot Salcha en Edrei toe; steden des koninkrijks van Og in Bazan. 11Want Og, de koning van Bazan, was alleen van de overigen der reuzen overgebleven; ziet, zijn bedstede, zijnde een bedstede van ijzer, is zij niet te Rabba der kinderen Ammons? Negen ellen is haar lengte, en vier ellen haar breedte, naar eens mans elleboog. 12Ditzelfde land nu namen wij te dier tijd in bezit; van Aroer af, dat aan de beek Arnon is, en de helft van het gebergte van Gilead, met de steden van hetzelve, gaf ik aan de Rubenieten en Gadieten. 13En het overige van Gilead, mitsgaders het ganse Bazan, het koninkrijk van Og, gaf ik aan den halven stam van Manasse, de ganse landstreek van Argob, door het ganse Bazan; datzelve werd genoemd het land der reuzen. 14Jair, de zoon van Manasse, kreeg de ganse landstreek van Argob, tot aan de landpale der Gezurieten en Maachathieten; en hij noemde ze naar zijn naam, Bazan Havvoth-Jair, tot op dezen dag. 15En aan Machir gaf ik Gilead. 16Maar aan de Rubenieten en Gadieten gaf ik van Gilead af tot aan de beek Arnon, het midden van de beek en de landpale; en tot aan de beek Jabbok, de landpale der kinderen Ammons; 17Daartoe het vlakke veld, en de Jordaan, mitsgaders de landpale; van Cinnereth af tot aan de zee des vlakken velds, de Zoutzee, onder Asdoth-Pisga tegen het oosten. 18Voorts gebood ik ulieden ter zelfder tijd, zeggende: De HEERE, uw God, heeft u dit land gegeven om het te erven; allen dan, die strijdbare mannen zijt, trekt gewapend door voor het aangezicht van uw broederen, de kinderen Israels. 19Behalve uw vrouwen, en uw kinderkens, en uw vee (ik weet, dat gij veel vee hebt), zij zullen blijven in uw steden, die ik u gegeven heb; 20Totdat de HEERE uw broederen rust geve, gelijk ulieden, dat zij ook erven het land, dat de HEERE, uw God, hun geven zal aan gene zijde van de Jordaan; dan zult gij wederkeren, elk tot zijn erfenis, die ik u gegeven heb. 21Ook gebood ik Jozua ter zelfder tijd, zeggende: Uw ogen zien alles, wat de HEERE, ulieder God, aan deze twee koningen gedaan heeft; alzo zal de HEERE aan alle koninkrijken doen, naar welke gij henen doortrekt. 22Vreest ze niet; want de HEERE, uw God, strijdt voor ulieden. 23Ook bad ik den HEERE om genade, zeggende ter zelfder tijd: 24Heere HEERE! Gij hebt begonnen Uw knecht te tonen Uw grootheid en Uw sterke hand; want wat God is er in den hemel en op de aarde, die doen kan naar Uw werken, en naar Uw mogendheden! 25Laat mij toch overtrekken, en dat goede land bezien, dat aan gene zijde van de Jordaan is, dat goede gebergte, en den Libanon! 26Doch de HEERE verstoorde zich zeer om uwentwille over mij, en hoorde niet naar mij; maar de HEERE zeide tot mij: Het zij u genoeg; spreek niet meer tot Mij van deze zaak. 27Klim op de hoogte van Pisga, en hef uw ogen op naar het westen, en naar het noorden, en naar het zuiden, en naar het oosten, en zie toe met uw ogen; want gij zult over deze Jordaan niet gaan. 28Gebied dan Jozua, en versterk hem, en bekrachtig hem; want hij zal voor het aangezicht van dit volk henen overgaan, en zal hun dat land, dat gij zien zult, doen erven. 29Alzo bleven wij in dit dal tegenover Beth-Peor.
