Ησαΐας 59

1Ιδού, η χειρ του Κυρίου δεν εσμικρύνθη, ώστε να μη δύναται να σώση, ουδέ το ωτίον αυτού εβάρυνεν, ώστε να μη δύναται να ακούση· 2αλλ' αι ανομίαι σας έβαλον χωρίσματα μεταξύ υμών και του Θεού υμών, και αι αμαρτίαι σας έκρυψαν το πρόσωπον αυτού από σας, διά να μη ακούη. 3Διότι αι χείρές σας είναι μεμολυσμέναι από αίματος και οι δάκτυλοί σας από ανομίας· τα χείλη σας ελάλησαν ψεύδη· η γλώσσα σας εμελέτησε κακίαν. 4Ουδείς εκζητεί την δικαιοσύνην ουδέ κρίνει εν αληθεία· θαρρούσιν επί την ματαιότητα και λαλούσι ψεύδη· συλλαμβάνουσι κακίαν και γεννώσιν ανομίαν. 5Βασιλίσκου ωά επωάζουσι και ιστόν αράχνης υφαίνουσιν· όστις φάγη εκ των ωών αυτών, αποθνήσκει· και αν σπάσης κανέν, εξέρχεται έχιδνα. 6Τα πανία αυτών δεν θέλουσι χρησιμεύσει εις ενδύματα, ουδέ θέλουσιν ενδυθή από των έργων αυτών· τα έργα αυτών είναι έργα ανομίας, και το έργον της βίας είναι εν ταις χερσίν αυτών. 7Οι πόδες αυτών τρέχουσι προς το κακόν και σπεύδουσι να χύσωσιν αίμα αθώον· οι διαλογισμοί αυτών είναι διαλογισμοί ανομίας· ερήμωσις και καταστροφή είναι εν ταις οδοίς αυτών. 8Την οδόν της ειρήνης δεν γνωρίζουσι· και δεν είναι κρίσις εις τα βήματα αυτών· αυτοί εις εαυτούς διέστρεψαν τας οδούς αυτών· πας ο περιπατών εν αυταίς δεν γνωρίζει ειρήνην. 9Διά τούτο η κρίσις είναι μακράν αφ' ημών και η δικαιοσύνη δεν μας φθάνει· προσμένομεν φως και ιδού, σκότος· λάμψιν, και περιπατούμεν εν ζόφω. 10Ψηλαφώμεν τον τοίχον ως οι τυφλοί, και ψηλαφώμεν ως οι μη έχοντες οφθαλμούς· εν μεσημβρία προσκόπτομεν ως εν νυκτί· είμεθα εν μέσω των αγαθών ως νεκροί. 11Πάντες βρυχώμεθα ως άρκτοι και στενάζομεν ως τρυγόνες· κρίσιν προσμένομεν αλλά δεν υπάρχει· σωτηρίαν αλλ' είναι μακράν αφ' ημών. 12Διότι αι παραβάσεις ημών επληθύνθησαν ενώπιόν σου, και αι αμαρτίαι ημών είναι μάρτυρες καθ' ημών· διότι μεθ' ημών είναι αι παραβάσεις ημών· και τας ανομίας ημών ημείς γνωρίζομεν αυτάς· 13παρέβημεν και εψεύσθημεν προς τον Κύριον και απεμακρύνθημεν από όπισθεν του Θεού ημών· ελαλήσαμεν άδικα και στασιαστικά· συνελάβομεν και επροφέραμεν εκ της καρδίας λόγους ψεύδους. 14Και η κρίσις εστράφη οπίσω και η δικαιοσύνη ίσταται μακράν· διότι η αλήθεια έπεσεν εν τη οδώ και η ευθύτης δεν δύναται να εισχωρήση. 15Ναι, εξέλιπεν η αλήθεια· και ο εκκλίνων από του κακού γίνεται θήραμα. Και είδε Κύριος και δυσηρεστήθη ότι δεν υπήρχε κρίσις· 16και είδεν ότι δεν υπήρχεν άνθρωπος, και εθαύμασεν ότι δεν υπήρχεν ο μεσιτεύων· όθεν ο βραχίων αυτού ενήργησεν εις αυτόν σωτηρίαν· και η δικαιοσύνη αυτού, αυτή εβάστασεν αυτόν. 17Και ενεδύθη δικαιοσύνην ως θώρακα και περιέθηκε την περικεφαλαίαν της σωτηρίας επί την κεφαλήν αυτού· και εφόρεσεν ως ιμάτιον τα ενδύματα της εκδικήσεως και ως επένδυμα περιενεδύθη τον ζήλον. 18Κατά τα έργα αυτών, ούτω θέλει ανταποδώσει, οργήν εις τους εναντίους αυτού, ανταπόδοσιν εις τους εχθρούς αυτού· θέλει κάμει ανταπόδοσιν και εις τας νήσους. 19Και θέλουσι φοβηθή το όνομα του Κυρίου από δυσμών και την δόξαν αυτού από ανατολών ηλίου· όταν ο εχθρός επέλθη ως ποταμός, το πνεύμα του Κυρίου θέλει υψώσει σημαίαν εναντίον αυτού. 20Και ο Λυτρωτής θέλει ελθεί εις Σιών και προς τους όσοι εκ του Ιακώβ επιστρέφουσιν από της παραβάσεως, λέγει Κύριος. 21Παρ' εμού δε αύτη είναι η προς αυτούς διαθήκη μου, λέγει Κύριος· το πνεύμά μου το επί σε και οι λόγοι μου, τους οποίους έθεσα εν τω στόματί σου, δεν θέλουσι λείψει από του στόματός σου ούτε από του στόματος του σπέρματός σου ούτε από του στόματος του σπέρματος του σπέρματός σου, από του νυν και έως αιώνος, λέγει Κύριος.

1Behold, Yahweh’s hand is not shortened, that it can’t save; neither his ear heavy, that it can’t hear: 2but your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear. 3For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue mutters wickedness. 4No one sues in righteousness, and no one pleads in truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and give birth to iniquity. 5They hatch adders’ eggs, and weave the spider’s web: he who eats of their eggs dies; and that which is crushed breaks out into a viper. 6Their webs shall not become garments, neither shall they cover themselves with their works: their works are works of iniquity, and the act of violence is in their hands. 7Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; desolation and destruction are in their paths. 8The way of peace they don’t know; and there is no justice in their goings: they have made them crooked paths; whoever goes therein does not know peace. 9Therefore is justice far from us, neither does righteousness overtake us: we look for light, but, behold, darkness; for brightness, but we walk in obscurity. 10We grope for the wall like the blind; yes, we grope as those who have no eyes: we stumble at noonday as in the twilight; among those who are lusty we are as dead men. 11We roar all like bears, and moan bitterly like doves: we look for justice, but there is none; for salvation, but it is far off from us. 12For our transgressions are multiplied before you, and our sins testify against us; for our transgressions are with us, and as for our iniquities, we know them: 13transgressing and denying Yahweh, and turning away from following our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood. 14Justice is turned away backward, and righteousness stands afar off; for truth is fallen in the street, and uprightness can’t enter. 15Yes, truth is lacking; and he who departs from evil makes himself a prey. Yahweh saw it, and it displeased him that there was no justice. 16He saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his own arm brought salvation to him; and his righteousness, it upheld him. 17He put on righteousness as a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation on his head; and he put on garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a mantle. 18According to their deeds, accordingly he will repay, wrath to his adversaries, recompense to his enemies; to the islands he will repay recompense. 19So shall they fear Yahweh’s name from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun; for he will come as a rushing stream, which the breath of Yahweh drives. 20“A Redeemer will come to Zion, and to those who turn from disobedience in Jacob,” says Yahweh. 21“As for me, this is my covenant with them,” says Yahweh. “My Spirit who is on you, and my words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart out of your mouth, nor out of the mouth of your seed, nor out of the mouth of your seed’s seed,” says Yahweh, “from henceforth and forever.”

1Ziet, de hand des HEEREN is niet verkort, dat zij niet zou kunnen verlossen; en Zijn oor is niet zwaar geworden, dat het niet zou kunnen horen. 2Maar uw ongerechtigheden maken een scheiding tussen ulieden en tussen uw God, en uw zonden verbergen het aangezicht van ulieden, dat Hij niet hoort. 3Want uw handen zijn met bloed bevlekt; en uw vingeren met ongerechtigheid; uw lippen spreken valsheid, uw tong dicht onrecht. 4Er is niemand, die voor de gerechtigheid roept, en niemand, die voor de waarheid in het gericht zich begeeft; zij vertrouwen op ijdelheid, en spreken leugen; met moeite zijn zij zwanger, en zij baren ongerechtigheid. 5Zij broeden basiliskus-eieren uit, en zij weven spinnewebben; die van hun eieren eet, moet sterven, en als het in stukken gedrukt wordt, er berst een adder uit. 6Hun webben deugen niet tot klederen, en zij zullen zichzelven niet kunnen dekken met hun werken; hun werken zijn werken der ongerechtigheid, en een maaksel des wrevels is in hun handen. 7Hun voeten lopen tot het kwade, en zij haasten om onschuldig bloed te vergieten; hun gedachten zijn gedachten der ongerechtigheid, verstoring en verbreking is op hun banen. 8Den weg des vredes kennen zij niet; en er is geen recht in hun gangen; hun paden maken zij verkeerd voor zich zelven, al wie daarop gaat, die kent den vrede niet. 9Daarom is het recht verre van ons, en de gerechtigheid achterhaalt ons niet; wij wachten op het licht, maar ziet, er is duisternis, op een groten glans, maar wij wandelen in donkerheden. 10Wij tasten naar den wand, gelijk de blinden, en, gelijk die geen ogen hebben, tasten wij; wij stoten ons op den middag, als in de schemering, wij zijn in woeste plaatsen gelijk de doden. 11Wij brommen allen gelijk als de beren, en wij kirren doorgaans gelijk de duiven; wij wachten naar recht, maar er is geen, naar heil, maar het is verre van ons. 12Want onze overtredingen zijn vele voor U, en onze zonden getuigen tegen ons; want onze overtredingen zijn bij ons, en onze ongerechtigheden kennen wij; 13Het overtreden en het liegen tegen den HEERE, en het achterwaarts wijken van onzen God; het spreken van onderdrukking en afval, het ontvangen en het dichten van valse woorden uit het hart. 14Daarom is het recht achterwaarts geweken, en de gerechtigheid staat van verre; want de waarheid struikelt op de straat, en wat recht is, kan er niet ingaan. 15Ja, de waarheid ontbreekt er, en wie van het boze wijkt, stelt zich tot een roof; en de HEERE zag het, en het was kwaad in Zijn ogen, dat er geen recht was. 16Dewijl Hij zag, dat er niemand was, zo ontzette Hij Zich, omdat er geen voorbidder was; daarom bracht Hem Zijn arm heil aan, en Zijn gerechtigheid ondersteunde Hem. 17Want Hij trok gerechtigheid aan als een pantser, en den helm des heils zette Hij op Zijn hoofd, en de klederen der wraak trok Hij aan tot kleding, en Hij deed den ijver aan als een mantel. 18Even naar de werken, even daarnaar zal Hij vergelden, grimmigheid aan Zijn wederpartijders, vergelding aan Zijn vijanden; den eilanden zal Hij het loon vergelden. 19Dan zullen zij den Naam des HEEREN vrezen van den nedergang, en Zijn heerlijkheid van den opgang der zon; als de vijand zal komen gelijk een stroom, zal de Geest des HEEREN de banier tegen hen oprichten. 20En er zal een Verlosser tot Sion komen, namelijk voor hen, die zich bekeren van de overtreding in Jakob, spreekt de HEERE. 21Mij aangaande, dit is Mijn Verbond met hen, zegt de HEERE: Mijn Geest, Die op u is, en Mijn woorden, die Ik in uw mond gelegd heb, die zullen van uw mond niet wijken, noch van den mond van uw zaad, noch van den mond van het zaad uws zaads, zegt de HEERE, van nu aan tot in eeuwigheid toe.
