Ησαΐας 34

1Πλησιάσατε, έθνη, διά να ακούσητε· και προσέξατε, λαοί· ας ακούση η γη και το πλήρωμα αυτής· η οικουμένη και πάντα όσα γεννώνται εν αυτή. 2Διότι ο θυμός του Κυρίου είναι επί πάντα τα έθνη, και η φλογερά οργή αυτού επί πάντα τα στρατεύματα αυτών· κατέστρεψεν αυτά ολοκλήρως· παρέδωκεν αυτά εις σφαγήν. 3Οι δε πεφονευμένοι αυτών θέλουσι ριφθή έξω, και η δυσωδία αυτών θέλει αναδοθή από των πτωμάτων αυτών· τα δε όρη θέλουσι διαλυθή από του αίματος αυτών. 4Και πάσα η στρατιά του ουρανού θέλει λυώσει, και οι ουρανοί θέλουσι περιτυλιχθή ως βιβλίον, και πάσα η στρατιά αυτών θέλει πέσει, καθώς πίπτει το φύλλον από της αμπέλου και καθώς πίπτουσι τα φύλλα από της συκής. 5Διότι η μάχαιρά μου εμεθύσθη εν τω ουρανώ· ιδού, επί την Ιδουμαίαν και επί τον λαόν της καταστροφής μου θέλει καταβή διά κρίσιν. 6Η μάχαιρα του Κυρίου είναι πλήρης αίματος· επαχύνθη με το πάχος, με το αίμα των αρνίων και τράγων, με το πάχος των νεφρών των κριών· διότι ο Κύριος έχει θυσίαν εν Βοσόρρα και σφαγήν μεγάλην εν τη γη της Ιδουμαίας. 7Και οι μονόκεροι θέλουσι καταβή μετ' αυτών και οι μόσχοι μετά των ταύρων· και η γη αυτών θέλει μεθυσθή από αίματος, και το χώμα αυτών θέλει παχυνθή από πάχους. 8Διότι είναι ημέρα εκδικήσεως του Κυρίου, ενιαυτός ανταποδόσεων διά την κρίσιν της Σιών. 9Και τα ρεύματα αυτής θέλουσι μεταβληθή εις πίσσαν και το χώμα αυτής εις θείον, και η γη αυτής θέλει κατασταθή πίσσα καιομένη· 10νύκτα και ημέραν δεν θέλει σβεσθή· ο καπνός αυτής θέλει αναβαίνει ακαταπαύστως· από γενεάς εις γενεάν θέλει μένει ηρημωμένη· και δεν θέλει υπάρχει ο διαβαίνων δι' αυτής εις αιώνα αιώνος. 11Αλλ' ο πελεκάν και ο ακανθόχοιρος θέλουσι κληρονομήσει αυτήν· και η γλαύξ και ο κόραξ θέλουσι κατοικεί εν αυτή· και ο Κύριος θέλει εξαπλώσει επ' αυτής, σχοινίον ερημώσεως και στάθμην κρημνισμού. 12Θέλουσι καλέσει εις την βασιλείαν τους μεγιστάνας αυτής αλλ' ουδείς θέλει είσθαι εκεί· και πάντες οι άρχοντες αυτής θέλουσιν ελθεί εις το μηδέν. 13Και άκανθαι θέλουσι βλαστήσει εν τοις παλατίοις αυτής, κνίδαι και βάτοι εν τοις οχυρώμασιν αυτής· και θέλει είσθαι κατοικία θώων, αυλή στρουθοκαμήλων. 14Και οι λύκοι θέλουσι συναπαντάσθαι εκεί με τους αιλούρους· και ο σάτυρος θέλει φωνάζει προς τον σύντροφον αυτού· ο κόκκυξ έτι θέλει αναπαύεσθαι εκεί, ευρίσκων εις εαυτόν τόπον αναπαύσεως. 15Εκεί θέλει εμφωλεύει ο νυκτοκόραξ και θέλει γεννά και επωάζει και συνάγει τους νεοσσούς υπό την σκιάν αυτού· εκεί θέλουσι συνάγεσθαι και οι γύπες, έκαστος μετά του συντρόφου αυτού. 16Ζητήσατε εν τω βιβλίω του Κυρίου και αναγνώσατε· ουδέν εκ τούτων θέλει λείψει, ουδέν θέλει είσθαι χωρίς του συντρόφου αυτού· διότι αυτό το στόμα του Κυρίου προσέταξε, και αυτό το πνεύμα αυτού συνήγαγε ταύτα. 17Και αυτός έρριψε τον κλήρον περί αυτών, και η χειρ αυτού διεμοίρασεν εις αυτά με στάθμην εκείνην την γήν· θέλουσι κληρονομήσει αυτήν εις τον αιώνα· από γενεάς εις γενεάν θέλουσι κατοικεί εν αυτή.

1Come near, you nations, to hear! Listen, you peoples. Let the earth and all it contains hear; the world, and everything that comes from it. 2For Yahweh is enraged against all the nations, and angry with all their armies. He has utterly destroyed them. He has given them over for slaughter. 3Their slain will also be cast out, and the stench of their dead bodies will come up; and the mountains will melt in their blood. 4All of the army of the sky will be dissolved. The sky will be rolled up like a scroll, and all its armies will fade away, as a leaf fades from off a vine or a fig tree. 5For my sword has drunk its fill in the sky. Behold, it will come down on Edom, and on the people of my curse, for judgment. 6Yahweh’s sword is filled with blood. It is covered with fat, with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams; for Yahweh has a sacrifice in Bozrah, And a great slaughter in the land of Edom. 7The wild oxen will come down with them, and the young bulls with the mighty bulls; and their land will be drunken with blood, and their dust made greasy with fat. 8For Yahweh has a day of vengeance, a year of recompense for the cause of Zion. 9Its streams will be turned into pitch, its dust into sulfur, And its land will become burning pitch. 10It won’t be quenched night nor day. Its smoke will go up forever. From generation to generation, it will lie waste. No one will pass through it forever and ever. 11But the pelican and the porcupine will possess it. The owl and the raven will dwell in it. He will stretch the line of confusion over it, and the plumb line of emptiness. 12They shall call its nobles to the kingdom, but none shall be there; and all its princes shall be nothing. 13Thorns will come up in its palaces, nettles and thistles in its fortresses; and it will be a habitation of jackals, a court for ostriches. 14The wild animals of the desert will meet with the wolves, and the wild goat will cry to his fellow. Yes, the night creature shall settle there, and shall find herself a place of rest. 15The arrow snake will make her nest there, and lay, hatch, and gather under her shade. Yes, the kites will be gathered there, every one with her mate. 16Search in the book of Yahweh, and read: not one of these will be missing. none will lack her mate. For my mouth has commanded, and his Spirit has gathered them. 17He has cast the lot for them, and his hand has divided it to them with a measuring line. They shall possess it forever. From generation to generation they will dwell in it.

1Nadert, gij heidenen, om te horen, en gij volken, luistert toe; de aarde hore, en haar volheid, de wereld en al wat daaruit voortkomt. 2Want de verbolgenheid des HEEREN is over al de heidenen, en grimmigheid over al hun heir; Hij heeft hen verbannen, Hij heeft ze ter slachting overgegeven. 3En hun verslagenen zullen weggeworpen worden, en van hun dode lichamen zal hun stank opgaan; en de bergen zullen smelten van hun bloed. 4En al het heir der hemelen zal uitteren, en de hemelen zullen toegerold worden, gelijk een boek, en al hun heir zal afvallen, gelijk een blad van den wijnstok afvalt, en gelijk een vijg afvalt van den vijgeboom. 5Want Mijn zwaard is dronken geworden in den hemel; ziet, het zal ten oordeel nederdalen op Edom, en op het volk, hetwelk Ik verbannen heb. 6Het zwaard des HEEREN is vol van bloed, het is vet geworden van smeer, van het bloed der lammeren en der bokken, van het smeer der nieren van de rammen; want de HEERE heeft een slachtoffer te Bozra, en een grote slachting in het land der Edomieten. 7En de eenhoornen zullen met hen afgaan, en de varren met de stieren; en hun land zal doordronken zijn van het bloed, en hun stof zal van het smeer vet gemaakt worden. 8Want het zal zijn de dag der wraak des HEEREN, een jaar der vergeldingen, om Sions twistzaak. 9En hun beken zullen in pek verkeerd worden, en hun stof in zwavel; ja, hun aarde zal tot brandend pek worden. 10Het zal des nachts of des daags niet uitgeblust worden, tot in der eeuwigheid zal zijn rook opgaan; van geslacht tot geslacht zal het woest zijn, tot in eeuwigheid der eeuwigheden zal niemand daar doorgaan. 11Maar de roerdomp en de nachtuil zullen het erfelijk bezitten, en de schuifuit, en de raaf zal daarin wonen; want Hij zal een richtsnoer der woestigheid over hen trekken, en een richtlood der ledigheid. 12Hun edelen (doch zij zijn er niet) zullen zij tot het koninkrijk roepen, maar al hun vorsten zullen niets zijn. 13En in hun paleizen zullen doornen opgaan, netelen en distelen in hun vestingen; en het zal een woning der draken zijn, een zaal voor de jongen der struisen. 14En de wilde dieren der woestijnen zullen de wilde dieren der eilanden daar ontmoeten, en de duivel zal zijn metgezel toeroepen; ook zal het nachtgedierte zich aldaar nederzetten, en het zal een rustplaats voor zich vinden. 15Daar zal de wilde meerle nestelen en leggen, en haar jongen uitbikken, en onder haar schaduw vergaderen; ook zullen aldaar de gieren met elkaar verzameld worden. 16Zoekt in het boek des HEEREN, en leest; niet een van dezen zal er feilen, het een noch het ander zal men missen; want mijn mond zelf heeft het geboden, en Zijn Geest Zelf zal ze samenbrengen. 17Want Hij Zelf heeft voor hen het lot geworpen, en Zijn hand heeft het hun uitgedeeld met het richtsnoer; tot in der eeuwigheid zullen zij dat erfelijk bezitten, van geslacht tot geslacht zullen zij daarin wonen.
