1Poi Dio disse a Mosè: "Sali all’Eterno tu ed Aaronne, Nadab e Abihu e settanta degli anziani d’Israele, e adorate da lungi; 2poi Mosè solo s’accosterà all’Eterno; ma gli altri non s’accosteranno, né salirà il popolo con lui". 3E Mosè venne e riferì al popolo tutte le parole dell’Eterno e tutte le leggi. E tutto il popolo rispose ad una voce e disse: "Noi faremo tutte le cose che l’Eterno ha dette". 4Poi Mosè scrisse tutte le parole dell’Eterno; e, levatosi di buon’ora la mattina, eresse appiè del monte un altare e dodici pietre per le dodici tribù d’Israele. 5E mandò dei giovani tra i figliuoli d’Israele a offrire olocausti e a immolare giovenchi come sacrifizi di azioni di grazie all’Eterno. 6E Mosè prese la metà del sangue e lo mise in bacini; e l’altra metà la sparse sull’altare. 7Poi prese il libro del patto e lo lesse in presenza del popolo, il quale disse: "Noi faremo tutto quello che l’Eterno ha detto, e ubbidiremo". 8Allora Mosè prese il sangue, ne asperse il popolo e disse: "Ecco il sangue del patto che l’Eterno ha fatto con voi sul fondamento di tutte queste parole". 9Poi Mosè ed Aaronne, Nadab e Abihu e settanta degli anziani d’Israele salirono, 10e videro l’Iddio d’Israele. Sotto i suoi piedi c’era come un pavimento lavorato in trasparente zaffiro, e simile, per limpidezza, al cielo stesso. 11Ed egli non mise la mano addosso a quegli eletti tra i figliuoli d’Israele; ma essi videro Iddio, e mangiarono e bevvero. 12E l’Eterno disse a Mosè: "Sali da me sul monte, e fermati quivi; e io ti darò delle tavole di pietra, la legge e i comandamenti che ho scritti, perché siano insegnati ai figliuoli d’Israele". 13Mosè dunque si levò con Giosuè suo ministro; e Mosè salì sul monte di Dio. 14E disse agli anziani: "Aspettateci qui, finché torniamo a voi. Ecco, Aaronne e Hur sono con voi; chiunque abbia qualche affare si rivolga a loro". 15Mosè dunque salì sul monte, e la nuvola ricoperse il monte. 16E la gloria dell’Eterno rimase sui monte Sinai e la nuvola lo coperse per sei giorni; e il settimo giorno l’Eterno chiamò Mosè di mezzo alla nuvola. 17E l’aspetto della gloria dell’Eterno era agli occhi de’ figliuoli d’Israele come un fuoco divorante sulla cima del monte. 18E Mosè entrò in mezzo alla nuvola e salì sul monte; e Mosè rimase sul monto quaranta giorni e quaranta notti.
1He said to Moses, “Come up to Yahweh, you, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel; and worship from a distance. 2Moses alone shall come near to Yahweh, but they shall not come near, neither shall the people go up with him.” 3Moses came and told the people all Yahweh’s words, and all the ordinances; and all the people answered with one voice, and said, “All the words which Yahweh has spoken will we do.” 4Moses wrote all Yahweh’s words, and rose up early in the morning, and built an altar under the mountain, and twelve pillars for the twelve tribes of Israel. 5He sent young men of the children of Israel, who offered burnt offerings and sacrificed peace offerings of cattle to Yahweh. 6Moses took half of the blood and put it in basins, and half of the blood he sprinkled on the altar. 7He took the book of the covenant and read it in the hearing of the people, and they said, “All that Yahweh has spoken will we do, and be obedient.” 8Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, “Look, this is the blood of the covenant, which Yahweh has made with you concerning all these words.” 9Then Moses, Aaron, Nadab, Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel went up. 10They saw the God of Israel. Under his feet was like a paved work of sapphire stone, like the skies for clearness. 11He didn’t lay his hand on the nobles of the children of Israel. They saw God, and ate and drank. 12Yahweh said to Moses, “Come up to me on the mountain, and stay here, and I will give you the stone tablets with the law and the commands that I have written, that you may teach them.” 13Moses rose up with Joshua, his servant, and Moses went up onto God’s Mountain. 14He said to the elders, “Wait here for us, until we come again to you. Behold, Aaron and Hur are with you. Whoever is involved in a dispute can go to them.” 15Moses went up on the mountain, and the cloud covered the mountain. 16Yahweh’s glory settled on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days. The seventh day he called to Moses out of the midst of the cloud. 17The appearance of Yahweh’s glory was like devouring fire on the top of the mountain in the eyes of the children of Israel. 18Moses entered into the midst of the cloud, and went up on the mountain; and Moses was on the mountain forty days and forty nights.
1Daarna zeide Hij tot Mozes: Klim op tot den HEERE, gij en Aaron, Nadab en Abihu, en zeventig van de oudsten van Israel; en buigt u neder van verre! 2En dat Mozes alleen zich nadere tot den HEERE, maar dat zij niet naderen; en het volk klimme ook niet op met hem. 3Als Mozes kwam en verhaalde aan het volk al de woorden des HEEREN, en al de rechten, toen antwoordde al het volk met een stem, en zij zeiden: Al deze woorden, die de HEERE gesproken heeft, zullen wij doen. 4Mozes nu beschreef al de woorden des HEEREN, en hij maakte zich des morgens vroeg op, en hij bouwde een altaar onder aan den berg, en twaalf kolommen, naar de twaalf stammen van Israel. 5En hij zond de jongelingen van de kinderen Israels, die brandofferen offerden, en den HEERE dankofferen offerden, van jonge ossen. 6En Mozes nam de helft van het bloed, en zette het in bekkens; en de helft van het bloed sprengde hij op het altaar. 7En hij nam het boek des verbonds, en hij las het voor de oren des volks; en zij zeiden: Al wat de HEERE gesproken heeft, zullen wij doen en gehoorzamen. 8Toen nam Mozes dat bloed, en sprengde het op het volk; en hij zeide: Ziet, dit is het bloed des verbonds, hetwelk de HEERE met ulieden gemaakt heeft over al die woorden. 9Mozes nu en Aaron klommen opwaarts, ook Nadab en Abihu, en zeventig van de oudsten van Israel. 10En zij zagen den God van Israel, en onder Zijn voeten als een werk van saffierstenen, en als de gestaltenis des hemels in Zijn klaarheid. 11Doch Hij strekte Zijn hand niet tot de afgezonderden van de kinderen Israels; maar zij aten en dronken, nadat zij God gezien hadden. 12Toen zeide de HEERE tot Mozes: Kom tot Mij op den berg, en wees aldaar; en Ik zal u stenen tafelen geven, en de wet, en de geboden, die Ik geschreven heb, om hen te onderwijzen. 13Toen maakte zich Mozes op, met Jozua, zijn dienaar; en Mozes klom op den berg Gods. 14En hij zeide tot de oudsten: Blijft gij ons hier, totdat wij weder tot u komen; en ziet, Aaron en Hur zijn bij u; wie enige zaken heeft, zal tot dezelve komen. 15Toen Mozes op den berg geklommen was, zo heeft een wolk den berg bedekt. 16En de heerlijkheid des HEEREN woonde op den berg Sinai, en de wolk bedekte hem zes dagen, en op den zevenden dag riep Hij Mozes uit het midden der wolk. 17En het aanzien der heerlijkheid des HEEREN was als een verterend vuur, op het opperste diens bergs, in de ogen der kinderen Israels. 18En Mozes ging in het midden der wolk, nadat hij op den berg geklommen was; en Mozes was op dien berg veertig dagen en veertig nachten.
