1L’Éternel parla à Moïse, et dit : 2Fais-toi deux trompettes d’argent ; tu les feras d’argent battu. Elles te serviront pour la convocation de l’assemblée et pour le départ des camps. 3Quand on en sonnera, toute l’assemblée se réunira auprès de toi, à l’entrée de la tente d’assignation. 4Si l’on ne sonne que d’une trompette, les princes, les chefs des milliers d’Israël, se réuniront auprès de toi. 5Quand vous sonnerez avec éclat, ceux qui campent à l’orient partiront ; 6quand vous sonnerez avec éclat pour la seconde fois, ceux qui campent au midi partiront : on sonnera avec éclat pour leur départ. 7Vous sonnerez aussi pour convoquer l’assemblée, mais vous ne sonnerez pas avec éclat. 8Les fils d’Aaron, les sacrificateurs, sonneront des trompettes. Ce sera une loi perpétuelle pour vous et pour vos descendants. 9Lorsque, dans votre pays, vous irez à la guerre contre l’ennemi qui vous combattra, vous sonnerez des trompettes avec éclat, et vous serez présents au souvenir de l’Éternel, votre Dieu, et vous serez délivrés de vos ennemis. 10Dans vos jours de joie, dans vos fêtes, et à vos nouvelles lunes, vous sonnerez des trompettes, en offrant vos holocaustes et vos sacrifices d’actions de grâces, et elles vous mettront en souvenir devant votre Dieu. Je suis l’Éternel, votre Dieu. 11Le vingtième jour du second mois de la seconde année, la nuée s’éleva de dessus le tabernacle du témoignage. 12Et les enfants d’Israël partirent du désert de Sinaï, selon l’ordre fixé pour leur marche. Le corps d’armée de Juda était commandé par Nachschon, fils d’Amminadab ; 15le corps d’armée de la tribu des fils d’Issacar, par Nethaneel, fils de Tsuar ; 16le corps d’armée de la tribu des fils de Zabulon, par Éliab, fils de Hélon. 17Le tabernacle fut démonté ; et les fils de Guerschon et les fils de Merari partirent, portant le tabernacle. 18La bannière du camp de Ruben partit, avec ses corps d’armée. Le corps d’armée de Ruben était commandé par Élitsur, fils de Schedéur ; 19le corps d’armée de la tribu des fils de Siméon, par Schelumiel, fils de Tsurischaddaï ; 20le corps d’armée de la tribu des fils de Gad, par Éliasaph, fils de Déuel. 21Les Kehathites partirent, portant le sanctuaire ; et l’on dressait le tabernacle en attendant leur arrivée. 22La bannière du camp des fils d’Éphraïm partit, avec ses corps d’armée. Le corps d’armée d’Éphraïm était commandé par Élischama, fils d’Ammihud ; 23le corps d’armée de la tribu des fils de Manassé, par Gamliel, fils de Pedahtsur ; 24le corps d’armée de la tribu des fils de Benjamin, par Abidan, fils de Guideoni. 25La bannière du camp des fils de Dan partit, avec ses corps d’armée : elle formait l’arrière-garde de tous les camps. Le corps d’armée de Dan était commandé par Ahiézer, fils d’Ammischaddaï ; 26le corps d’armée de la tribu des fils d’Aser, par Paguiel, fils d’Ocran ; 27le corps d’armée de la tribu des fils de Nephthali, par Ahira, fils d’Énan. 28Tel fut l’ordre d’après lequel les enfants d’Israël se mirent en marche selon leurs corps d’armée ; et c’est ainsi qu’ils partirent. 29Moïse dit à Hobab, fils de Réuel, le Madianite, beau-père de Moïse : Nous partons pour le lieu dont l’Éternel a dit : Je vous le donnerai. Viens avec nous, et nous te ferons du bien, car l’Éternel a promis de faire du bien à Israël. 30Hobab lui répondit : Je n’irai point ; mais j’irai dans mon pays et dans ma patrie. 31Et Moïse dit : Ne nous quitte pas, je te prie ; puisque tu connais les lieux où nous campons dans le désert, tu nous serviras de guide. 32Et si tu viens avec nous, nous te ferons jouir du bien que l’Éternel nous fera. 33Ils partirent de la montagne de l’Éternel, et marchèrent trois jours ; l’arche de l’alliance de l’Éternel partit devant eux, et fit une marche de trois jours, pour leur chercher un lieu de repos. 34La nuée de l’Éternel était au-dessus d’eux pendant le jour, lorsqu’ils partaient du camp. 35Quand l’arche partait, Moïse disait : Lève-toi, Éternel ! et que tes ennemis soient dispersés ! que ceux qui te haïssent fuient devant ta face ! 36Et quand on la posait, il disait : Reviens, Éternel, aux myriades des milliers d’Israël !
1Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 2“Make two trumpets of silver. You shall make them of beaten work. You shall use them for the calling of the congregation, and for the journeying of the camps. 3When they blow them, all the congregation shall gather themselves to you at the door of the Tent of Meeting. 4If they blow just one, then the princes, the heads of the thousands of Israel, shall gather themselves to you. 5When you blow an alarm, the camps that lie on the east side shall go forward. 6When you blow an alarm the second time, the camps that lie on the south side shall go forward. They shall blow an alarm for their journeys. 7But when the assembly is to be gathered together, you shall blow, but you shall not sound an alarm. 8“The sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow the trumpets. This shall be to you for a statute forever throughout your generations. 9When you go to war in your land against the adversary who oppresses you, then you shall sound an alarm with the trumpets. Then you will be remembered before Yahweh your God, and you will be saved from your enemies. 10“Also in the day of your gladness, and in your set feasts, and in the beginnings of your months, you shall blow the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; and they shall be to you for a memorial before your God. I am Yahweh your God.” 11In the second year, in the second month, on the twentieth day of the month, the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle of the testimony. 12The children of Israel went forward according to their journeys out of the wilderness of Sinai; and the cloud stayed in the wilderness of Paran. 13They first went forward according to the commandment of Yahweh by Moses. 14First, the standard of the camp of the children of Judah went forward according to their armies. Nahshon the son of Amminadab was over his army. 15Nethanel the son of Zuar was over the army of the tribe of the children of Issachar. 16Eliab the son of Helon was over the army of the tribe of the children of Zebulun. 17The tabernacle was taken down; and the sons of Gershon and the sons of Merari, who bore the tabernacle, went forward. 18The standard of the camp of Reuben went forward according to their armies. Elizur the son of Shedeur was over his army. 19Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai was over the army of the tribe of the children of Simeon. 20Eliasaph the son of Deuel was over the army of the tribe of the children of Gad. 21The Kohathites set forward, bearing the sanctuary. The others set up the tabernacle before they arrived. 22The standard of the camp of the children of Ephraim set forward according to their armies. Elishama the son of Ammihud was over his army. 23Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur was over the army of the tribe of the children of Manasseh. 24Abidan the son of Gideoni was over the army of the tribe of the children of Benjamin. 25The standard of the camp of the children of Dan, which was the rear guard of all the camps, set forward according to their armies. Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai was over his army. 26Pagiel the son of Ochran was over the army of the tribe of the children of Asher. 27Ahira the son of Enan was over the army of the tribe of the children of Naphtali. 28Thus were the travels of the children of Israel according to their armies; and they went forward. 29Moses said to Hobab, the son of Reuel the Midianite, Moses’ father-in-law, “We are journeying to the place of which Yahweh said, ‘I will give it to you.’ Come with us, and we will treat you well; for Yahweh has spoken good concerning Israel.” 30He said to him, “I will not go; but I will depart to my own land, and to my relatives.” 31He said, “Don’t leave us, please; because you know how we are to encamp in the wilderness, and you can be our eyes. 32It shall be, if you go with us, yes, it shall be, that whatever good Yahweh does to us, we will do the same to you.” 33They set forward from the Mount of Yahweh three days’ journey. The ark of the covenant of Yahweh went before them three days’ journey, to seek out a resting place for them. 34The cloud of Yahweh was over them by day, when they set forward from the camp. 35When the ark went forward, Moses said, “Rise up, Yahweh, and let your enemies be scattered! Let those who hate you flee before you!” 36When it rested, he said, “Return, Yahweh, to the ten thousands of the thousands of Israel.”
1Verder sprak de HEERE tot Mozes, zeggende: 2Maak u twee zilveren trompetten; van dicht werk zult gij ze maken; en zij zullen u zijn tot de samenroeping der vergadering, en tot den optocht der legers. 3Als zij met dezelve blazen zullen, dan zal de gehele vergadering tot u vergaderd worden, aan de deur van de tent der samenkomst. 4Maar als zij met de ene zullen blazen, dan zullen tot u vergaderd worden de oversten, de hoofden der duizenden van Israel. 5Als gij met een gebroken geklank blazen zult, dan zullen de legers, die tegen het oosten gelegerd zijn, optrekken. 6Maar als gij ten tweeden male met een gebroken klank blazen zult, zullen de legers, die tegen het zuiden legeren, optrekken; met een gebroken klank zullen zij blazen tot hun optochten. 7Maar in het verzamelen van de gemeente, zult gij blazen, doch geen gebroken geklank maken. 8En de zonen van Aaron, de priesters, zullen met die trompetten blazen; en zij zullen ulieden zijn tot een eeuwige inzetting bij uw geslachten. 9En wanneer gijlieden in uw land ten strijde zult trekken tegen den vijand, die u benauwt, zult gij ook met die trompetten een gebroken klank maken; zo zal uwer gedacht worden voor het aangezicht des HEEREN, uws Gods, en gij zult van uw vijanden verlost worden. 10Desgelijks ten dage uwer vrolijkheid, en in uw gezette hoogtijden, en in de beginselen uwer maanden, zult gij ook met de trompetten blazen over uw brandofferen, en over uw dankofferen; en zij zullen u ter gedachtenis zijn voor het aangezicht uws Gods; Ik ben de HEERE, uw God! 11En het geschiedde in het tweede jaar, in de tweede maand, op den twintigsten van de maand, dat de wolk verheven werd van boven den tabernakel der getuigenis. 12En de kinderen Israels togen op, naar hun tochten, uit de woestijn Sinai; en de wolk bleef in de woestijn Paran. 13Alzo togen zij vooreerst op, naar den mond des HEEREN, door de hand van Mozes. 14Want vooreerst toog op de banier van het leger der kinderen van Juda, naar hun heiren; en over zijn heir was Nahesson, de zoon van Amminadab. 15En over het heir van den stam der kinderen van Issaschar was Nethaneel, den zoon van Zuar. 16En over het heir van den stam der kinderen van Zebulon was Eliab, de zoon van Helon. 17Toen werd de tabernakel afgenomen, en de zonen van Gerson, en de zonen van Merari togen op, dragende den tabernakel. 18Daarna toog de banier van het leger van Ruben, naar hun heiren; en over zijn heir was Elizur, de zoon van Sedeur. 19En over het heir van den stam der kinderen van Simeon was Selumiel, de zoon van Zurisaddai. 20En over het heir van den stam der kinderen van Gad was Eljasaf, de zoon van Dehuel. 21Toen togen op de Kohathieten, dragende het heiligdom; en de anderen richtten den tabernakel op, tegen dat dezen kwamen. 22Daarna toog op de banier van het leger der kinderen van Efraim, naar hun heiren; en over het heir was Elisama, de zoon van Ammihud. 23En over het heir van den stam der kinderen van Manasse was Gamaliel, de zoon van Pedazur. 24En over het heir van den stam der kinderen van Benjamin was Abidan, de zoon van Gideoni. 25Toen toog op de banier van het leger der kinderen van Dan, samensluitende al de legers, naar hun heiren; en over zijn heir was Ahiezer de zoon van Ammisaddai. 26En over het heir van den stam der kinderen van Aser was Pagiel, de zoon van Ochran. 27En over het heir van den stam der kinderen van Nafthali was Ahira, de zoon van Enan. 28Dit waren de tochten der kinderen Israels, naar hun heiren, als zij reisden. 29Mozes nu zeide tot Hobab, den zoon van Rehuel, den Midianiet, den schoonvader van Mozes: Wij reizen naar die plaats, van welke de HEERE gezegd heeft: Ik zal u die geven; ga met ons, en wij zullen u weldoen, want de HEERE heeft over Israel het goede gesproken. 30Doch hij zeide tot hem: Ik zal niet gaan; maar ik zal naar mijn land en naar mijn maagschap gaan. 31En hij zeide: Verlaat ons toch niet; want dewijl gij weet, dat wij ons legeren in de woestijn, zo zult gij ons tot ogen zijn. 32En het zal geschieden, als gij met ons zult gaan, en het goede geschieden zal, waarmede de HEERE bij ons weldoen zal, dat wij u ook weldoen zullen. 33Zo togen zij drie dagreizen van den berg des HEEREN; en de ark des verbonds des HEEREN reisde voor hun aangezicht drie dagreizen, om voor hen een rustplaats uit te speuren. 34En de wolk des HEEREN was des daags over hen, als zij uit het leger verreisden. 35Het geschiedde nu in het optrekken van de ark, dat Mozes zeide: Sta op, HEERE! en laat Uw vijanden verstrooid worden, en Uw haters van Uw aangezicht vlieden! 36En als zij rustte, zeide hij: Kom weder, HEERE! tot de tien duizenden der duizenden van Israel!
