1Y DESPUÉS de seis días, Jesús toma á Pedro, y á Jacobo, y á Juan su hermano, y los lleva aparte á un monte alto: 2Y se transfiguró delante de ellos; y resplandeció su rostro como el sol, y sus vestidos fueron blancos como la luz. 3Y he aquí les aparecieron Moisés y Elías, hablando con él. 4Y respondiendo Pedro, dijo á Jesús: Señor, bien es que nos quedemos aquí: si quieres, hagamos aquí tres pabellones: para ti uno, y para Moisés otro, y otro para Elías. 5Y estando aún él hablando, he aquí una nube de luz que los cubrió; y he aquí una voz de la nube, que dijo: Este es mi Hijo amado, en el cual tomo contentamiento: á él oid. 6Y oyendo esto los discípulos, cayeron sobre sus rostros, y temieron en gran manera. 7Entonces Jesús llegando, los tocó, y dijo: Levantaos, y no temáis. 8Y alzando ellos sus ojos, á nadie vieron, sino á solo Jesús. 9Y como descendieron del monte, les mandó Jesús, diciendo: No digáis á nadie la visión, hasta que el Hijo del hombre resucite de los muertos. 10Entonces sus discípulos le preguntaron, diciendo: ¿Por qué dicen pues los escribas que es menester que Elías venga primero? 11Y respondiendo Jesús, les dijo: A la verdad, Elías vendrá primero, y restituirá todas las cosas. 12Mas os digo, que ya vino Elías, y no le conocieron; antes hicieron en él todo lo que quisieron: así también el Hijo del hombre padecerá de ellos. 13Los discípulos entonces entendieron, que les habló de Juan el Bautista. 14Y como ellos llegaron al gentío, vino á él un hombre hincándosele de rodillas, 15Y diciendo: Señor, ten misericordia de mi hijo, que es lunático, y padece malamente; porque muchas veces cae en el fuego, y muchas en el agua. 16Y le he presentado á tus discípulos, y no le han podido sanar. 17Y respondiendo Jesús, dijo: ¡Oh generación infiel y torcida! ¿hasta cuándo tengo de estar con vosotros? ¿hasta cuándo os tengo de sufrir? traédmele acá. 18Y Jesús le reprendió, y salió el demonio de él; y el mozo fué sano desde aquella hora. 19Entonces, llegándose los discípulos á Jesús, aparte, dijeron: ¿Por qué nosotros no lo pudimos echar fuera? 20Y Jesús les dijo: Por vuestra incredulidad; porque de cierto os digo, que si tuviereis fe como un grano de mostaza, diréis á este monte: Pásate de aquí allá: y se pasará: y nada os será imposible. 21Mas este linaje no sale sino por oración y ayuno. 22Y estando ellos en Galilea, Jesús les dijo: El Hijo del hombre será entregado en manos de hombres, 23Y le matarán; mas al tercer día resucitará. Y ellos se entristecieron en gran manera. 24Y como llegaron á Capernaum, vinieron á Pedro los que cobraban las dos dracmas, y dijeron: ¿Vuestro Maestro no paga las dos dracmas? 25El dice: Sí. Y entrando él en casa, Jesús le habló antes, diciendo: ¿Qué te parece, Simón? Los reyes de la tierra, ¿de quién cobran los tributos ó el censo? ¿de sus hijos ó de los extraños? 26Pedro le dice: De los extraños. Jesús le dijo: Luego los hijos son francos. 27Mas porque no los escandalicemos, ve á la mar, y echa el anzuelo, y el primer pez que viniere, tómalo, y abierta su boca, hallarás un estatero: tómalo, y dáselo por mí y por ti.
1After six days, Jesus took with him Peter, James, and John his brother, and brought them up into a high mountain by themselves. 2He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and his garments became as white as the light. 3Behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them talking with him. 4Peter answered, and said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here. If you want, let’s make three tents here: one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.” 5While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them. Behold, a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Listen to him.” 6When the disciples heard it, they fell on their faces, and were very afraid. 7Jesus came and touched them and said, “Get up, and don’t be afraid.” 8Lifting up their eyes, they saw no one, except Jesus alone. 9As they were coming down from the mountain, Jesus commanded them, saying, “Don’t tell anyone what you saw, until the Son of Man has risen from the dead.” 10His disciples asked him, saying, “Then why do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?” 11Jesus answered them, “Elijah indeed comes first, and will restore all things, 12but I tell you that Elijah has come already, and they didn’t recognize him, but did to him whatever they wanted to. Even so the Son of Man will also suffer by them.” 13Then the disciples understood that he spoke to them of John the Baptizer. 14When they came to the multitude, a man came to him, kneeling down to him, saying, 15“Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is epileptic, and suffers grievously; for he often falls into the fire, and often into the water. 16So I brought him to your disciples, and they could not cure him.” 17Jesus answered, “Faithless and perverse generation! How long will I be with you? How long will I bear with you? Bring him here to me.” 18Jesus rebuked him, the demon went out of him, and the boy was cured from that hour. 19Then the disciples came to Jesus privately, and said, “Why weren’t we able to cast it out?” 20He said to them, “Because of your unbelief. For most certainly I tell you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will tell this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. 21But this kind doesn’t go out except by prayer and fasting.” 22While they were staying in Galilee, Jesus said to them, “The Son of Man is about to be delivered up into the hands of men, 23and they will kill him, and the third day he will be raised up.” They were exceedingly sorry. 24When they had come to Capernaum, those who collected the didrachma coins came to Peter, and said, “Doesn’t your teacher pay the didrachma?” 25He said, “Yes.” When he came into the house, Jesus anticipated him, saying, “What do you think, Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth receive toll or tribute? From their children, or from strangers?” 26Peter said to him, “From strangers.” Jesus said to him, “Therefore the children are exempt. 27But, lest we cause them to stumble, go to the sea, cast a hook, and take up the first fish that comes up. When you have opened its mouth, you will find a stater coin.Take that, and give it to them for me and you.”
1En na zes dagen nam Jezus met Zich Petrus, en Jakobus, en Johannes, zijn broeder, en bracht hen op een hoge berg alleen. 2En Hij werd voor hen veranderd van gedaante; en Zijn aangezicht blonk gelijk de zon, en Zijn klederen werden wit gelijk het licht. 3En ziet, van hen werden gezien Mozes en Elias, met Hem samensprekende. 4En Petrus, antwoordende, zeide tot Jezus: Heere! het is goed, dat wij hier zijn; zo Gij wilt, laat ons hier drie tabernakelen maken, voor U een, en voor Mozes een, en een voor Elias. 5Terwijl hij nog sprak, ziet, een luchtige wolk heeft hen overschaduwd; en ziet, een stem uit de wolk, zeggende: Deze is Mijn geliefde Zoon, in Denwelken Ik Mijn welbehagen heb; hoort Hem! 6En de discipelen, dit horende, vielen op hun aangezicht, en werden zeer bevreesd. 7En Jezus, bij hen komende, raakte hen aan, en zeide: Staat op en vreest niet. 8En hun ogen opheffende, zagen zij niemand, dan Jezus alleen. 9En als zij van de berg afkwamen, gebood hun Jezus, zeggende: Zegt niemand dit gezicht, totdat de Zoon des mensen zal opgestaan zijn uit de doden. 10En Zijn discipelen vraagden Hem, zeggende: Wat zeggen dan de Schriftgeleerden, dat Elias eerst moet komen? 11Doch Jezus, antwoordende, zeide tot hen: Elias zal wel eerst komen, en alles weder oprichten. 12Maar Ik zeg u, dat Elias nu gekomen is, en zij hebben hem niet gekend; doch zij hebben aan hem gedaan, al wat zij hebben gewild; alzo zal ook de Zoon des mensen van hen lijden. 13Toen verstonden de discipelen dat Hij hun van Johannes de Doper gesproken had. 14En als zij bij de schare gekomen waren, kwam tot Hem een mens, vallende voor Hem op de knieen, en zeggende: 15Heere! ontferm U over mijn zoon; want hij is maanziek, en is in zwaar lijden; want menigmaal valt hij in het vuur, en menigmaal in het water. 16En ik heb hem tot Uw discipelen gebracht, en zij hebben hem niet kunnen genezen. 17En Jezus, antwoordende, zeide: O, ongelovig en verkeerd geslacht, hoe lang zal Ik nog met ulieden zijn, hoe lang zal Ik u nog verdragen? Brengt hem Mij hier. 18En Jezus bestrafte hem, en de duivel ging van hem uit, en het kind werd genezen van die ure af. 19Toen kwamen de discipelen tot Jezus alleen, en zeiden: Waarom hebben wij hem niet kunnen uitwerpen? 20En Jezus zeide tot hen: Om uws ongeloofs wil; want voorwaar zeg Ik u: Zo gij een geloof hadt als een mosterdzaad, gij zoudt tot deze berg zeggen: Ga heen van hier derwaarts, en hij zal heengaan; en niets zal u onmogelijk zijn. 21Maar dit geslacht vaart niet uit, dan door bidden en vasten. 22En als zij in Galilea verkeerden, zeide Jezus tot hen: De Zoon des mensen zal overgeleverd worden in de handen der mensen; 23En zij zullen Hem doden, en ten derden dage zal Hij opgewekt worden. En zij werden zeer bedroefd. 24En als zij te Kapernaum ingekomen waren, gingen tot Petrus die de didrachmen ontvingen, en zeiden: Uw Meester, betaalt Hij de didrachmen niet? 25Hij zeide: Ja. En toen hij in huis gekomen was, voorkwam hem Jezus, zeggende: Wat dunkt u, Simon! de koningen der aarde, van wie nemen zij tollen of schatting, van hun zonen, of van de vreemden? 26Petrus zeide tot Hem: Van de vreemden. Jezus zeide tot hem: Zo zijn dan de zonen vrij. 27Maar opdat wij hun geen aanstoot geven, ga heen naar de zee, werp de angel uit, en de eerste vis, die opkomt, neem, en zijn mond geopend hebbende, zult gij een stater vinden; neem die, en geef hem aan hen voor Mij en u.
