1ENTONCES llegaron á Jesús ciertos escribas y Fariseos de Jerusalem, diciendo: 2¿Por qué tus discípulos traspasan la tradición de los ancianos? porque no se lavan las manos cuando comen pan. 3Y él respondiendo, les dijo: ¿Por qué también vosotros traspasáis el mandamiento de Dios por vuestra tradición? 4Porque Dios mandó, diciendo: Honra al padre y á la madre, y, El que maldijere al padre ó á la madre, muera de muerte. 5Mas vosotros decís: Cualquiera que dijere al padre ó á la madre: Es ya ofrenda mía á Dios todo aquello con que pudiera valerte; 6No deberá honrar á su padre ó á su madre con socorro. Así habéis invalidado el mandamiento de Dios por vuestra tradición. 7Hipócritas, bien profetizó de vosotros Isaías, diciendo: 8Este pueblo de labios me honra; mas su corazón lejos está de mí. 9Mas en vano me honran, enseñando doctrinas y mandamientos de hombres. 10Y llamando á sí las gentes, les dijo: Oid, y entended: 11No lo que entra en la boca contamina al hombre; mas lo que sale de la boca, esto contamina al hombre. 12Entonces llegándose sus discípulos, le dijeron: ¿Sabes que los Fariseos oyendo esta palabra se ofendieron? 13Mas respondiendo él, dijo: Toda planta que no plantó mi Padre celestial, será desarraigada. 14Dejadlos: son ciegos guías de ciegos; y si el ciego guiare al ciego, ambos caerán en el hoyo. 15Y respondiendo Pedro, le dijo: Decláranos esta parábola. 16Y Jesús dijo: ¿Aun también vosotros sois sin entendimiento? 17¿No entendéis aún, que todo lo que entra en la boca, va al vientre, y es echado en la letrina? 18Mas lo que sale de la boca, del corazón sale; y esto contamina al hombre. 19Porque del corazón salen los malos pensamientos, muertes, adulterios, fornicaciones, hurtos, falsos testimonios, blasfemias. 20Estas cosas son las que contaminan al hombre: que comer con las manos por lavar no contamina al hombre. 21Y saliendo Jesús de allí, se fué á las partes de Tiro y de Sidón. 22Y he aquí una mujer Cananea, que había salido de aquellos términos, clamaba, diciéndole: Señor, Hijo de David, ten misericordia de mí; mi hija es malamente atormentada del demonio. 23Mas él no le respondió palabra. Entonces llegándose sus discípulos, le rogaron, diciendo: Despáchala, pues da voces tras nosotros. 24Y él respondiendo, dijo: No soy enviado sino á las ovejas perdidas de la casa de Israel. 25Entonces ella vino, y le adoró, diciendo: Señor, socórreme. 26Y respondiendo él, dijo: No es bien tomar el pan de los hijos, y echarlo á los perrillos. 27Y ella dijo: Sí, Señor; mas los perrillos comen de las migajas que caen de la mesa de sus señores. 28Entonces respondiendo Jesús, dijo: Oh mujer, grande es tu fe; sea hecho contigo como quieres. Y fué sana su hija desde aquella hora. 29Y partido Jesús de allí, vino junto al mar de Galilea: y subiendo al monte, se sentó allí. 30Y llegaron á él muchas gentes, que tenían consigo cojos, ciegos, mudos, mancos, y otros muchos enfermos: y los echaron á los pies de Jesús, y los sanó: 31De manera que se maravillaban las gentes, viendo hablar los mudos, los mancos sanos, andar los cojos, y ver los ciegos: y glorificaron al Dios de Israel. 32Y Jesús llamando á sus discípulos, dijo: Tengo lástima de la gente, que ya hace tres días que perseveran conmigo, y no tienen qué comer; y enviarlos ayunos no quiero, porque no desmayen en el camino. 33Entonces sus discípulos le dicen: ¿Dónde tenemos nosotros tantos panes en el desierto, que hartemos á tan gran compañía? 34Y Jesús les dice: ¿Cuántos panes tenéis? Y ellos dijeron: Siete, y unos pocos pececillos. 35Y mandó á las gentes que se recostasen sobre la tierra. 36Y tomando los siete panes y los peces, haciendo gracias, partió y dió á sus discípulos; y los discípulos á la gente. 37Y comieron todos, y se hartaron: y alzaron lo que sobró de los pedazos, siete espuertas llenas. 38Y eran los que habían comido, cuatro mil hombres, sin las mujeres y los niños. 39Entonces, despedidas las gentes, subió en el barco: y vino á los términos de Magdalá.
1Then Pharisees and scribes came to Jesus from Jerusalem, saying, 2“Why do your disciples disobey the tradition of the elders? For they don’t wash their hands when they eat bread.” 3He answered them, “Why do you also disobey the commandment of God because of your tradition? 4For God commanded, ‘Honor your father and your mother,’and, ‘He who speaks evil of father or mother, let him be put to death.’ 5But you say, ‘Whoever may tell his father or his mother, “Whatever help you might otherwise have gotten from me is a gift devoted to God,” 6he shall not honor his father or mother.’ You have made the commandment of God void because of your tradition. 7You hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying, 8‘These people draw near to me with their mouth, and honor me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. 9And in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrine rules made by men.’” 10He summoned the multitude, and said to them, “Hear, and understand. 11That which enters into the mouth doesn’t defile the man; but that which proceeds out of the mouth, this defiles the man.” 12Then the disciples came, and said to him, “Do you know that the Pharisees were offended, when they heard this saying?” 13But he answered, “Every plant which my heavenly Father didn’t plant will be uprooted. 14Leave them alone. They are blind guides of the blind. If the blind guide the blind, both will fall into a pit.” 15Peter answered him, “Explain the parable to us.” 16So Jesus said, “Do you also still not understand? 17Don’t you understand that whatever goes into the mouth passes into the belly, and then out of the body? 18But the things which proceed out of the mouth come out of the heart, and they defile the man. 19For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, sexual sins, thefts, false testimony, and blasphemies. 20These are the things which defile the man; but to eat with unwashed hands doesn’t defile the man.” 21Jesus went out from there, and withdrew into the region of Tyre and Sidon. 22Behold, a Canaanite woman came out from those borders, and cried, saying, “Have mercy on me, Lord, you son of David! My daughter is severely possessed by a demon!” 23But he answered her not a word. His disciples came and begged him, saying, “Send her away; for she cries after us.” 24But he answered, “I wasn’t sent to anyone but the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” 25But she came and worshiped him, saying, “Lord, help me.” 26But he answered, “It is not appropriate to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.” 27But she said, “Yes, Lord, but even the dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.” 28Then Jesus answered her, “Woman, great is your faith! Be it done to you even as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that hour. 29Jesus departed there, and came near to the sea of Galilee; and he went up into the mountain, and sat there. 30Great multitudes came to him, having with them the lame, blind, mute, maimed, and many others, and they put them down at his feet. He healed them, 31so that the multitude wondered when they saw the mute speaking, injured whole, lame walking, and blind seeing—and they glorified the God of Israel. 32Jesus summoned his disciples and said, “I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days and have nothing to eat. I don’t want to send them away fasting, or they might faint on the way.” 33The disciples said to him, “Where should we get so many loaves in a deserted place as to satisfy so great a multitude?” 34Jesus said to them, “How many loaves do you have?” They said, “Seven, and a few small fish.” 35He commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground; 36and he took the seven loaves and the fish. He gave thanks and broke them, and gave to the disciples, and the disciples to the multitudes. 37They all ate, and were filled. They took up seven baskets full of the broken pieces that were left over. 38Those who ate were four thousand men, besides women and children. 39Then he sent away the multitudes, got into the boat, and came into the borders of Magdala.
1Toen kwamen tot Jezus enige Schriftgeleerden en Farizeen, die van Jeruzalem waren, zeggende: 2Waarom overtreden Uw discipelen de inzetting der ouden? Want zij wassen hun handen niet, wanneer zij brood zullen eten. 3Maar Hij, antwoordende, zeide tot hen: Waarom overtreedt ook gij het gebod Gods, door uw inzetting? 4Want God heeft geboden, zeggende: Eert uwen vader en moeder, en: Wie vader of moeder vloekt, die zal de dood sterven. 5Maar gij zegt: Zo wie tot vader of moeder zal zeggen: Het is een gave, zo wat u van mij zou kunnen ten nutte komen; en zijn vader of zijn moeder geenszins zal eren, die voldoet. 6En gij hebt alzo Gods gebod krachteloos gemaakt door uw inzetting. 7Gij geveinsden! Wel heeft Jesaja van u geprofeteerd, zeggende: 8Dit volk genaakt Mij met hun mond, en eert Mij met de lippen, maar hun hart houdt zich verre van Mij; 9Doch tevergeefs eren zij Mij, lerende leringen, die geboden van mensen zijn. 10En als Hij de schare tot Zich geroepen had, zeide Hij tot hen: Hoort en verstaat. 11Hetgeen ten monde ingaat, ontreinigt den mens niet; maar hetgeen ten monde uitgaat, dat ontreinigt den mens. 12Toen kwamen Zijn discipelen tot Hem, en zeiden tot Hem: Weet Gij wel, dat de Farizeen deze rede horende, geergerd zijn geweest? 13Maar Hij, antwoordende zeide: Alle plant, die Mijn hemelse Vader niet geplant heeft, zal uitgeroeid worden. 14Laat hen varen; zij zijn blinde leidslieden der blinden. Indien nu de blinde den blinde leidt, zo zullen zij beiden in de gracht vallen. 15En Petrus, antwoordende, zeide tot Hem: Verklaar ons deze gelijkenis. 16Maar Jezus zeide: Zijt ook gijlieden alsnog onwetende? 17Verstaat gij nog niet, dat al wat ten monde ingaat, in de buik komt, en in de heimelijkheid wordt uitgeworpen? 18Maar die dingen, die ten monde uitgaan, komen voort uit het hart, en dezelve ontreinigen den mens. 19Want uit het hart komen voort boze bedenkingen, doodslagen, overspelen, hoererijen, dieverijen, valse getuigenissen, lasteringen. 20Deze dingen zijn het, die den mens ontreinigen; maar het eten met ongewassen handen ontreinigt den mens niet. 21En Jezus van daar gaande, vertrok naar de delen van Tyrus en Sidon. 22En ziet, een Kananese vrouw, uit die landpalen komende, riep tot Hem, zeggende: Heere! Gij Zone Davids, ontferm U mijner! mijn dochter is deerlijk van den duivel bezeten. 23Doch Hij antwoordde haar niet een woord. En Zijn discipelen, tot Hem komende, baden Hem, zeggende: Laat haar van U; want zij roept ons na. 24Maar Hij, antwoordende, zeide: Ik ben niet gezonden, dan tot de verloren schapen van het huis Israels. 25En zij kwam en aanbad Hem, zeggende: Heere, help mij! 26Doch Hij antwoordde en zeide: Het is niet betamelijk het brood der kinderen te nemen, en den hondekens voor te werpen. 27En zij zeide: Ja, Heere! doch de hondekens eten ook van de brokjes die er vallen van de tafel hunner heren. 28Toen antwoordde Jezus, en zeide tot haar: O vrouw! groot is uw geloof; u geschiede, gelijk gij wilt. En haar dochter werd gezond van diezelfde ure. 29En Jezus, van daar vertrekkende, kwam aan de zee van Galilea, en klom op den berg, en zat daar neder. 30En vele scharen zijn tot Hem gekomen, hebbende bij zich kreupelen, blinden, stommen, lammen, en vele anderen, en wierpen ze voor de voeten van Jezus; en Hij genas dezelve. 31Alzo dat de scharen zich verwonderden, ziende de stommen sprekende, de lammen gezond, de kreupelen wandelende, en de blinden ziende; en zij verheerlijkten den God Israels. 32En Jezus, Zijn discipelen tot Zich geroepen hebbende, zeide: Ik word innerlijk met ontferming bewogen over de schare, omdat zij nu drie dagen bij Mij gebleven zijn, en hebben niet wat zij eten zouden; en Ik wil hen niet nuchteren van Mij laten, opdat zij op den weg niet bezwijken. 33En Zijn discipelen zeiden tot Hem: Van waar zullen wij zovele broden in de woestijn bekomen, dat wij zulk een grote schare zouden verzadigen? 34En Jezus zeide tot hen: Hoevele broden hebt gij? Zij zeiden: Zeven, en weinige visjes. 35En Hij gebood den scharen neder te zitten op de aarde. 36En Hij nam de zeven broden en de vissen, en als Hij gedankt had, brak Hij ze, en gaf ze Zijn discipelen; en de discipelen gaven ze aan de schare. 37En zij aten allen en werden verzadigd, en zij namen op, het overschot der brokken, zeven volle manden. 38En die daar gegeten hadden, waren vier duizend mannen, zonder de vrouwen en kinderen. 39En de scharen van Zich gelaten hebbende, ging Hij in het schip, en kwam in de landpalen van Magdala.
