1DE doce años era Manasés cuando comenzó á reinar, y reinó en Jerusalem cincuenta y cinco años: el nombre de su madre fué Hepsiba. 2E hizo lo malo en ojos de Jehová, según las abominaciones de las gentes que Jehová había echado delante de los hijos de Israel. 3Porque él volvió á edificar los altos que Ezechîas su padre había derribado, y levantó altares á Baal, é hizo bosque, como había hecho Achâb rey de Israel: y adoró á todo el ejército del cielo, y sirvió á aquellas cosas. 4Asimismo edificó altares en la casa de Jehová, de la cual Jehová había dicho: Yo pondré mi nombre en Jerusalem. 5Y edificó altares para todo el ejército del cielo en los dos atrios de la casa de Jehová. 6Y pasó á su hijo por fuego, y miró en tiempos, y fué agorero, é instituyó pythones y adivinos, multiplicando así el hacer lo malo en ojos de Jehová, para provocarlo á ira. 7Y puso una entalladura del bosque que él había hecho, en la casa de la cual había Jehová dicho á David y á Salomón su hijo: Yo pondré mi nombre para siempre en esta casa, y en Jerusalem, á la cual escogí de todas las tribus de Israel: 8Y no volveré á hacer que el pie de Israel sea movido de la tierra que dí á sus padres, con tal que guarden y hagan conforme á todas las cosas que yo les he mandado, y conforme á toda la ley que mi siervo Moisés les mandó. 9Mas ellos no escucharon; y Manasés los indujo á que hiciesen más mal que las gentes que Jehová destruyó delante de los hijos de Israel. 10Y habló Jehová por mano de sus siervos los profetas, diciendo: 11Por cuanto Manasés rey de Judá ha hecho estas abominaciones, y ha hecho más mal que todo lo que hicieron los Amorrheos que fueron antes de él, y también ha hecho pecar á Judá en sus ídolos; 12Por tanto, así ha dicho Jehová el Dios de Israel: He aquí yo traigo tal mal sobre Jerusalem y sobre Judá, que el que lo oyere, le retiñirán ambos oídos. 13Y extenderé sobre Jerusalem el cordel de Samaria, y el plomo de la casa de Achâb: y yo limpiaré á Jerusalem como se limpia una escudilla, que después que la han limpiado, la vuelven sobre su haz. 14Y desampararé las reliquias de mi heredad, y entregarlas he en manos de sus enemigos; y serán para saco y para robo á todos sus adversarios; 15Por cuanto han hecho lo malo en mis ojos, y me han provocado á ira, desde el día que sus padres salieron de Egipto hasta hoy. 16Fuera de esto, derramó Manasés mucha sangre inocente en gran manera, hasta henchir á Jerusalem de cabo á cabo: además de su pecado con que hizo pecar á Judá, para que hiciese lo malo en ojos de Jehová. 17Lo demás de los hechos de Manasés, y todas las cosas que hizo, y su pecado que cometió, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá? 18Y durmió Manasés con sus padres, y fué sepultado en el huerto de su casa, en el huerto de Uzza; y reinó en su lugar Amón su hijo. 19De veinte y dos años era Amón cuando comenzó á reinar, y reinó dos años en Jerusalem. El nombre de su madre fué Mesalemeth hija de Harus de Jotba. 20E hizo lo malo en ojos de Jehová, como había hecho Manasés su padre. 21Y anduvo en todos los caminos en que su padre anduvo, y sirvió á las inmundicias á las cuales había servido su padre, y á ellas adoró; 22Y dejó á Jehová el Dios de sus padres, y no anduvo en el camino de Jehová. 23Y los siervos de Amón conspiraron contra él, y mataron al rey en su casa. 24Entonces el pueblo de la tierra hirió á todos los que habían conspirado contra el rey Amón; y puso el pueblo de la tierra por rey en su lugar á Josías su hijo. 25Lo demás de los hechos de Amón, que efectuara, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá? 26Y fué sepultado en su sepulcro en el huerto de Uzza, y reinó en su lugar Josías su hijo.
1Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign; and he reigned fifty-five years in Jerusalem: and his mother’s name was Hephzibah. 2He did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, after the abominations of the nations whom Yahweh cast out before the children of Israel. 3For he built again the high places which Hezekiah his father had destroyed; and he reared up altars for Baal, and made an Asherah, as did Ahab king of Israel, and worshiped all the army of the sky, and served them. 4He built altars in Yahweh’s house, of which Yahweh said, “I will put my name in Jerusalem.” 5He built altars for all the army of the sky in the two courts of Yahweh’s house. 6He made his son to pass through the fire, and practiced sorcery, and used enchantments, and dealt with those who had familiar spirits, and with wizards: he worked much evil in the sight of Yahweh, to provoke him to anger. 7He set the engraved image of Asherah, that he had made, in the house of which Yahweh said to David and to Solomon his son, “In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, will I put my name forever; 8neither will I cause the feet of Israel to wander any more out of the land which I gave their fathers, if only they will observe to do according to all that I have commanded them, and according to all the law that my servant Moses commanded them.” 9But they didn’t listen: and Manasseh seduced them to do that which is evil more than the nations did whom Yahweh destroyed before the children of Israel. 10Yahweh spoke by his servants the prophets, saying, 11“Because Manasseh king of Judah has done these abominations, and has done wickedly above all that the Amorites did, who were before him, and has made Judah also to sin with his idols; 12therefore thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel, ‘Behold, I bring such evil on Jerusalem and Judah, that whoever hears of it, both his ears shall tingle. 13I will stretch over Jerusalem the line of Samaria, and the plummet of the house of Ahab; and I will wipe Jerusalem as a man wipes a dish, wiping it and turning it upside down. 14I will cast off the remnant of my inheritance, and deliver them into the hand of their enemies. They will become a prey and a plunder to all their enemies; 15because they have done that which is evil in my sight, and have provoked me to anger, since the day their fathers came out of Egypt, even to this day.’” 16Moreover Manasseh shed innocent blood very much, until he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another; besides his sin with which he made Judah to sin, in doing that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh. 17Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh, and all that he did, and his sin that he sinned, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? 18Manasseh slept with his fathers, and was buried in the garden of his own house, in the garden of Uzza: and Amon his son reigned in his place. 19Amon was twenty-two years old when he began to reign; and he reigned two years in Jerusalem: and his mother’s name was Meshullemeth the daughter of Haruz of Jotbah. 20He did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, as Manasseh his father did. 21He walked in all the way that his father walked in, and served the idols that his father served, and worshiped them: 22and he abandoned Yahweh, the God of his fathers, and didn’t walk in the way of Yahweh. 23The servants of Amon conspired against him, and put the king to death in his own house. 24But the people of the land killed all those who had conspired against king Amon; and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his place. 25Now the rest of the acts of Amon which he did, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? 26He was buried in his tomb in the garden of Uzza: and Josiah his son reigned in his place.
1Manasse was twaalf jaren oud, toen hij koning werd, en hij regeerde vijf en vijftig jaren te Jeruzalem; en de naam zijner moeder was Hefzi-bah. 2En hij deed dat kwaad was in de ogen des HEEREN, naar de gruwelen der heidenen, die de HEERE voor het aangezicht der kinderen Israels uit de bezitting verdreven had. 3Want hij bouwde de hoogten weder op, die Hizkia, zijn vader, verdorven had; en hij richtte Baal altaren op, en maakte een bos, gelijk als Achab, de koning van Israel, gemaakt had, en boog zich neder voor het heir des hemels, en diende ze. 4En hij bouwde altaren in het huis des HEEREN, waarvan de HEERE gezegd had: te Jeruzalem zal Ik Mijn Naam zetten. 5Daartoe bouwde hij altaren voor al het heir des hemels, in beide de voorhoven van het huis des HEEREN. 6Ja, hij deed zijn zoon door het vuur gaan, en pleegde guichelarij en gaf op vogelgeschrei acht; en hij stelde waarzeggers en duivelskunstenaren; hij deed zeer veel kwaads in de ogen des HEEREN, om Hem tot toorn te verwekken. 7Hij stelde ook een gesneden beeld van het bos, dat hij gemaakt had, in het huis waarvan de HEERE gezegd had tot David, en tot zijn zoon Salomo: In dit huis, en in Jeruzalem, die Ik uit alle stammen van Israel verkoren heb, zal Ik Mijn Naam zetten in eeuwigheid. 8En Ik zal niet voortvaren den voet van Israel te bewegen uit dit land, dat Ik hun vaderen gegeven heb; alleenlijk, zo zij waarnemen te doen, naar alles, wat Ik hun geboden heb, en naar de ganse wet, die Mijn knecht Mozes hun geboden heeft. 9Maar zij hoorden niet; want Manasse deed hen dwalen, dat zij erger deden dan de heidenen, die de HEERE voor het aangezicht der kinderen Israels verdelgd had. 10Toen sprak de HEERE door den dienst van Zijn knechten, de profeten, zeggende: 11Dewijl dat Manasse, de koning van Juda, deze gruwelen gedaan heeft, erger doende dan al wat de Amorieten gedaan hebben, die voor hem geweest zijn, ja, ook Juda door zijn drekgoden heeft doen zondigen; 12Daarom, alzo zegt de HEERE, de God Israels: Ziet, Ik zal een kwaad over Jeruzalem en Juda brengen, dat een ieder, die het hoort, beide zijn oren klinken zullen. 13En Ik zal over Jeruzalem het meetsnoer van Samaria trekken, mitsgaders het paslood van het huis van Achab; en Ik zal Jeruzalem uitwissen, gelijk als men een schotel uitwist; men wist dien uit, en men keert hem om op zijn holligheid. 14En Ik zal het overblijfsel Mijns erfdeels verlaten, en zal ze in de hand hunner vijanden geven; en zij zullen tot een roof en plundering worden al hun vijanden. 15Daarom, dat zij gedaan hebben dat kwaad was in Mijn ogen, en Mij tot toorn verwekt hebben, van dien dag, dat hun vaderen van Egypte uitgegaan zijn, ook tot op dezen dag toe. 16Daartoe vergoot Manasse ook zeer veel onschuldig bloed, totdat hij Jeruzalem van het ene einde tot het andere vervuld had; behalve zijn zonde, die hij Juda zondigen deed, doende wat kwaad was in de ogen des HEEREN. 17Het overige der geschiedenissen van Manasse, en al wat hij gedaan heeft, en zijn zonde, die hij gezondigd heeft, zijn die niet geschreven in het boek der kronieken der koningen van Juda? 18En Manasse ontsliep met zijn vaderen, en werd begraven in den hof van zijn huis, in den hof van Uzza; en zijn zoon Amon werd koning in zijn plaats. 19Amon was twee en twintig jaren oud, toen hij koning werd, en hij regeerde twee jaren te Jeruzalem; en de naam zijner moeder was Mesullemet, een dochter van Haruz van Jotba. 20En hij deed dat kwaad was in de ogen des HEEREN; gelijk als zijn vader Manasse gedaan had. 21Want hij wandelde in al den weg, dien zijn vader gewandeld had, en hij diende de drekgoden, die zijn vader gediend had, en hij boog zich voor die neder. 22Zo verliet hij den HEERE, den God zijner vaderen, en hij wandelde niet in den weg des HEEREN. 23En de knechten van Amon maakten een verbintenis tegen hem, en zij doodden den koning in zijn huis. 24Maar het volk des lands versloeg allen, die tegen den koning Amon een verbintenis gemaakt hadden; en het volk des lands maakte zijn zoon Josia koning in zijn plaats. 25Het overige nu der geschiedenissen van Amon, wat hij gedaan heeft, zijn die niet geschreven in het boek der kronieken der koningen van Juda? 26En men begroef hem in zijn graf, in den hof van Uzza; en zijn zoon Josia werd koning in zijn plaats.
