1HIRAM rey de Tiro envió también sus siervos á Salomón, luego que oyó que lo habían ungido por rey en lugar de su padre: porque Hiram había siempre amado á David. 2Entonces Salomón envió á decir á Hiram: 3Tú sabes como mi padre David no pudo edificar casa al nombre de Jehová su Dios, por las guerras que le cercaron, hasta que Jehová puso sus enemigos bajo las plantas de sus pies. 4Ahora Jehová mi Dios me ha dado reposo por todas partes; que ni hay adversarios, ni mal encuentro. 5Yo por tanto he determinado ahora edificar casa al nombre de Jehová mi Dios, como Jehová lo habló á David mi padre, diciendo: Tu hijo, que yo pondré en lugar tuyo en tu trono, él edificará casa á mi nombre. 6Manda pues ahora que me corten cedros del Líbano; y mis siervos estarán con los tuyos, y yo te daré por tus siervos el salario que tú dijeres: porque tú sabes bien que ninguno hay entre nosotros que sepa labrar la madera como los Sidonios. 7Y como Hiram oyó las palabras de Salomón, holgóse en gran manera, y dijo: Bendito sea hoy Jehová, que dió hijo sabio á David sobre este pueblo tan grande. 8Y envió Hiram á decir á Salomón: He oído lo que me mandaste á decir: yo haré todo lo que te pluguiere acerca de la madera de cedro, y la madera de haya. 9Mis siervos la llevarán desde el Líbano á la mar; y yo la pondré en balsas por la mar hasta el lugar que tú me señalares, y allí se desatará, y tú la tomarás: y tú harás mi voluntad en dar de comer á mi familia. 10Dió pues Hiram á Salomón madera de cedro y madera de haya todo lo que quiso. 11Y Salomón daba á Hiram veinte mil coros de trigo para el sustento de su familia, y veinte coros de aceite limpio: esto daba Salomón á Hiram cada un año. 12Dió pues Jehová á Salomón sabiduría como le había dicho: y hubo paz entre Hiram y Salomón, é hicieron alianza entre ambos. 13Y el rey Salomón impuso tributo á todo Israel, y el tributo fué de treinta mil hombres: 14Los cuales enviaba al Líbano de diez mil en diez mil, cada mes por su turno, viniendo así á estar un mes en el Líbano, y dos meses en sus casas: y Adoniram estaba sobre aquel tributo. 15Tenía también Salomón setenta mil que llevaban las cargas, y ochenta mil cortadores en el monte; 16Sin los principales oficiales de Salomón que estaban sobre la obra, tres mil y trescientos, los cuales tenían cargo del pueblo que hacía la obra. 17Y mandó el rey que trajesen grandes piedras, piedras de precio, para los cimientos de la casa, y piedras labradas. 18Y los albañiles de Salomón y los de Hiram, y los aparejadores, cortaron y aparejaron la madera y la cantería para labrar la casa.
1Hiram king of Tyre sent his servants to Solomon; for he had heard that they had anointed him king in the place of his father: for Hiram was ever a lover of David. 2Solomon sent to Hiram, saying, 3“You know how that David my father could not build a house for the name of Yahweh his God for the wars which were about him on every side, until Yahweh put them under the soles of his feet. 4But now Yahweh my God has given me rest on every side. There is neither adversary, nor evil occurrence. 5Behold, I purpose to build a house for the name of Yahweh my God, as Yahweh spoke to David my father, saying, ‘Your son, whom I will set on your throne in your place, he shall build the house for my name.’ 6Now therefore command that they cut me cedar trees out of Lebanon. My servants shall be with your servants; and I will give you wages for your servants according to all that you shall say. For you know that there is not among us any who knows how to cut timber like the Sidonians.” 7When Hiram heard the words of Solomon, he rejoiced greatly, and said, “Blessed is Yahweh this day, who has given to David a wise son over this great people.” 8Hiram sent to Solomon, saying, “I have heard the message which you have sent to me. I will do all your desire concerning timber of cedar, and concerning timber of fir. 9My servants shall bring them down from Lebanon to the sea. I will make them into rafts to go by sea to the place that you shall appoint me, and will cause them to be broken up there, and you shall receive them. You shall accomplish my desire, in giving food for my household.” 10So Hiram gave Solomon timber of cedar and timber of fir according to all his desire. 11Solomon gave Hiram twenty thousand measures of wheat for food to his household, and twenty measures of pure oil. Solomon gave this to Hiram year by year. 12Yahweh gave Solomon wisdom, as he promised him; and there was peace between Hiram and Solomon; and they two made a treaty together. 13King Solomon raised a levy out of all Israel; and the levy was thirty thousand men. 14He sent them to Lebanon, ten thousand a month by courses; a month they were in Lebanon, and two months at home; and Adoniram was over the men subject to forced labor. 15Solomon had seventy thousand who bore burdens, and eighty thousand who were stone cutters in the mountains; 16besides Solomon’s chief officers who were over the work, three thousand and three hundred, who bore rule over the people who labored in the work. 17The king commanded, and they cut out great stones, costly stones, to lay the foundation of the house with worked stone. 18Solomon’s builders and Hiram’s builders and the Gebalites cut them, and prepared the timber and the stones to build the house.
1En Hiram, de koning van Tyrus, zond zijn knechten tot Salomo (want hij had gehoord, dat zij Salomo tot koning gezalfd hadden in zijns vaders plaats), dewijl Hiram David altijd bemind had. 2Daarna zond Salomo tot Hiram, zeggende: 3Gij weet, dat mijn vader David den Naam des HEEREN, zijns Gods, geen huis kon bouwen, vanwege de oorlogen, waarmede zij hem omsingelden, totdat de HEERE hen onder zijn voetzolen gaf. 4Maar nu heeft de HEERE, mijn God, mij van rondom rust gegeven; er is geen tegenpartijder, en geen bejegening van kwaad. 5En zie, ik denk voor den Naam van den HEERE, mijn God, een huis te bouwen; gelijk als de HEERE gesproken heeft tot mijn vader David, zeggende: Uw zoon, dien Ik in uw plaats op uw troon zetten zal, die zal Mijn Naam dat huis bouwen. 6Zo gebied nu, dat men mij cederen uit den Libanon houwe, en mijn knechten zullen met uw knechten zijn, en het loon uwer knechten zal ik u geven, naar al wat gij zeggen zult; want gij weet, dat onder ons niemand is, die weet hout te houwen, gelijk de Sidoniers. 7En het geschiedde, als Hiram de woorden van Salomo gehoord had, dat hij zich zeer verblijdde, en zeide: Gezegend zij de HEERE heden, Die David een wijzen zoon gegeven heeft over dit grote volk! 8En Hiram zond tot Salomo, zeggende: Ik heb gehoord, waarom gij tot mij gezonden hebt; ik zal al uw wil doen met het cederenhout, en met het dennenhout. 9Mijn knechten zullen het afbrengen van den Libanon aan de zee; en ik zal het op vlotten over de zee doen voeren, tot die plaats, die gij aan mij ontbieden zult, en zal het aldaar los maken, en gij zult het wegnemen; gij zult ook mijn wil doen, dat gij mijn huis spijze geeft. 10Alzo gaf Hiram aan Salomo cederenhout en dennenhout, naar al zijn wil. 11En Salomo gaf Hiram twintig duizend kor tarwe, tot spijze van zijn huis, en twintig kor gestoten olie; zulks gaf Salomo aan Hiram jaar op jaar. 12De HEERE dan gaf Salomo wijsheid, gelijk als Hij tot hem gesproken had; en er was vrede tussen Hiram en tussen Salomo, en zij beiden maakten een verbond. 13En de koning Salomo deed een uitschot opkomen uit gans Israel; en het uitschot was dertig duizend man. 14En hij zond hen naar den Libanon, tien duizend des maands bij beurten; een maand waren zij op den Libanon; twee maanden elk in zijn huis; en Adoniram was over dit uitschot. 15Daartoe had Salomo zeventig duizend, die last droegen, en tachtig duizend houwers op het gebergte. 16Behalve de oversten van Salomo's bestelden, die over dat werk waren, drie duizend en driehonderd, die heerschappij hadden over het volk, hetwelk dat werk deed. 17Als de koning het nu gebood, zo voerden zij grote stenen toe, kostelijke stenen, gehouwen stenen, om den grond van dat huis te leggen. 18En de bouwlieden van Salomo, en de bouwlieden van Hiram, en de Giblieten behieuwen ze, en bereidden het hout toe, en de stenen, om dat huis te bouwen.
