1Y FUÉ palabra de Jehová á Jehú hijo de Hanani contra Baasa, diciendo: 2Pues que yo te levanté del polvo, y te puse por príncipe sobre mi pueblo Israel, y tú has andado en el camino de Jeroboam, y has hecho pecar á mi pueblo Israel, provocándome á ira con sus pecados; 3He aquí yo barreré la posteridad de Baasa, y la posteridad de su casa: y pondré tu casa como la casa de Jeroboam hijo de Nabat. 4El que de Baasa fuere muerto en la ciudad, le comerán los perros; y el que de él fuere muerto en el campo, comerlo han las aves del cielo. 5Lo demás de los hechos de Baasa, y las cosas que hizo, y su fortaleza, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel? 6Y durmió Baasa con sus padres, y fué sepultado en Thirsa; y reinó en su lugar Ela su hijo. 7Empero la palabra de Jehová por mano de Jehú profeta, hijo de Hanani, había sido contra Baasa y también contra su casa, con motivo de todo lo malo que hizo á los ojos de Jehová, provocándole á ira con las obras de sus manos, para que fuese hecha como la casa de Jeroboam; y porque lo había herido. 8En el año veintiséis de Asa rey de Judá, comenzó á reinar Ela hijo de Baasa sobre Israel en Thirsa; y reinó dos años. 9E hizo conjuración contra él su siervo Zimri, comandante de la mitad de los carros. Y estando él en Thirsa, bebiendo y embriagado en casa de Arsa su mayordomo en Thirsa, 10Vino Zimri, y lo hirió y mató, en el año veintisiete de Asa rey de Judá; y reinó en lugar suyo. 11Y luego que llegó á reinar y estuvo sentado en su trono, hirió toda la casa de Baasa, sin dejar en ella meante á la pared, ni sus parientes ni amigos. 12Así rayó Zimri toda la casa de Baasa, conforme á la palabra de Jehová, que había proferido contra Baasa por medio del profeta Jehú; 13Por todos los pecados de Baasa, y los pecados de Ela su hijo, con que ellos pecaron é hicieron pecar á Israel, provocando á enojo á Jehová Dios de Israel con sus vanidades. 14Los demás hechos de Ela, y todas las cosas que hizo, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel? 15En el año veintisiete de Asa rey de Judá, comenzó á reinar Zimri, y reinó siete días en Thirsa; y el pueblo había asentado campo sobre Gibbethón, ciudad de los Filisteos. 16Y el pueblo que estaba en el campo oyó decir: Zimri ha hecho conjuración, y ha muerto al rey. Entonces todo Israel levantó el mismo día por rey sobre Israel á Omri, general del ejército, en el campo. 17Y subió Omri de Gibbethón, y con él todo Israel, y cercaron á Thirsa. 18Mas viendo Zimri tomada la ciudad, metióse en el palacio de la casa real, y pegó fuego á la casa consigo: así murió, 19Por sus pecados que él había cometido, haciendo lo malo á los ojos de Jehová, y andando en los caminos de Jeroboam, y en su pecado que cometió, haciendo pecar á Israel. 20Los demás hechos de Zimri, y su conspiración que formó, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel? 21Entonces el pueblo de Israel fué dividido en dos partes: la mitad del pueblo seguía á Thibni hijo de Gineth, para hacerlo rey: y la otra mitad seguía á Omri. 22Mas el pueblo que seguía á Omri, pudo más que el que seguía á Thibni hijo de Gineth; y Thibni murió, y Omri fué rey. 23En el año treinta y uno de Asa rey de Judá, comenzó á reinar Omri sobre Israel, y reinó doce años: en Thirsa reinó seis años. 24Y compró él de Semer el monte de Samaria por dos talentos de plata, y edificó en el monte: y llamó el nombre de la ciudad que edificó, Samaria, del nombre de Semer, señor que fué de aquel monte. 25Y Omri hizo lo malo á los ojos de Jehová, é hizo peor que todos los que habían sido antes de él: 26Pues anduvo en todos los caminos de Jeroboam hijo de Nabat, y en su pecado con que hizo pecar á Israel, provocando á ira á Jehová Dios de Israel con sus ídolos. 27Lo demás de los hechos de Omri, y todas las cosas que hizo, y sus valentías que ejecutó, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel? 28Y Omri durmió con sus padres, y fué sepultado en Samaria; y reinó en lugar suyo Achâb, su hijo. 29Y comenzó á reinar Achâb hijo de Omri sobre Israel el año treinta y ocho de Asa rey de Judá. 30Y reinó Achâb hijo de Omri sobre Israel en Samaria veintidós años. Y Achâb hijo de Omri hizo lo malo á los ojos de Jehová sobre todos los que fueron antes de él; 31Porque le fué ligera cosa andar en los pecados de Jeroboam hijo de Nabat, y tomó por mujer á Jezabel hija de Ethbaal rey de los Sidonios, y fué y sirvió á Baal, y lo adoró. 32E hizo altar á Baal, en el templo de Baal que él edificó en Samaria. 33Hizo también Achâb un bosque; y añadió Achâb haciendo provocar á ira á Jehová Dios de Israel, más que todos los reyes de Israel que antes de él habían sido. 34En su tiempo Hiel de Beth-el reedificó á Jericó. En Abiram su primogénito echó el cimiento, y en Segub su hijo postrero puso sus puertas; conforme á la palabra de Jehová que había hablado por Josué hijo de Nun.
1Yahweh’s word came to Jehu the son of Hanani against Baasha, saying, 2“Because I exalted you out of the dust, and made you prince over my people Israel, and you have walked in the way of Jeroboam, and have made my people Israel to sin, to provoke me to anger with their sins; 3behold, I will utterly sweep away Baasha and his house; and I will make your house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat. 4The dogs will eat Baasha’s descendants who die in the city; and he who dies of his in the field the birds of the sky will eat.” 5Now the rest of the acts of Baasha, and what he did, and his might, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel? 6Baasha slept with his fathers, and was buried in Tirzah; and Elah his son reigned in his place. 7Moreover by the prophet Jehu the son of Hanani came Yahweh’s word against Baasha, and against his house, both because of all the evil that he did in the sight of Yahweh, to provoke him to anger with the work of his hands, in being like the house of Jeroboam, and because he struck him. 8In the twenty-sixth year of Asa king of Judah, Elah the son of Baasha began to reign over Israel in Tirzah for two years. 9His servant Zimri, captain of half his chariots, conspired against him. Now he was in Tirzah, drinking himself drunk in the house of Arza, who was over the household in Tirzah: 10and Zimri went in and struck him, and killed him, in the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned in his place. 11When he began to reign, as soon as he sat on his throne, he struck all the house of Baasha: he didn’t leave him a single one who urinates on a wall, neither of his relatives, nor of his friends. 12Thus Zimri destroyed all the house of Baasha, according to Yahweh’s word, which he spoke against Baasha by Jehu the prophet, 13for all the sins of Baasha, and the sins of Elah his son, which they sinned, and with which they made Israel to sin, to provoke Yahweh, the God of Israel, to anger with their vanities. 14Now the rest of the acts of Elah, and all that he did, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel? 15In the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, Zimri reigned seven days in Tirzah. Now the people were encamped against Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines. 16The people who were encamped heard say, Zimri has conspired, and has also struck the king: therefore all Israel made Omri, the captain of the army, king over Israel that day in the camp. 17Omri went up from Gibbethon, and all Israel with him, and they besieged Tirzah. 18When Zimri saw that the city was taken, he went into the castle of the king’s house, and burnt the king’s house over him with fire, and died, 19for his sins which he sinned in doing that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, in walking in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin which he did, to make Israel to sin. 20Now the rest of the acts of Zimri, and his treason that he committed, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel? 21Then were the people of Israel divided into two parts: half of the people followed Tibni the son of Ginath, to make him king; and half followed Omri. 22But the people who followed Omri prevailed against the people who followed Tibni the son of Ginath: so Tibni died, and Omri reigned. 23In the thirty-first year of Asa king of Judah, Omri began to reign over Israel for twelve years. He reigned six years in Tirzah. 24He bought the hill Samaria of Shemer for two talents of silver; and he built on the hill, and called the name of the city which he built, after the name of Shemer, the owner of the hill, Samaria. 25Omri did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, and dealt wickedly above all who were before him. 26For he walked in all the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and in his sins with which he made Israel to sin, to provoke Yahweh, the God of Israel, to anger with their vanities. 27Now the rest of the acts of Omri which he did, and his might that he showed, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel? 28So Omri slept with his fathers, and was buried in Samaria; and Ahab his son reigned in his place. 29In the thirty-eighth year of Asa king of Judah began Ahab the son of Omri to reign over Israel: and Ahab the son of Omri reigned over Israel in Samaria twenty-two years. 30Ahab the son of Omri did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh above all that were before him. 31As if it had been a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, he took as wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Sidonians, and went and served Baal, and worshiped him. 32He reared up an altar for Baal in the house of Baal, which he had built in Samaria. 33Ahab made the Asherah; and Ahab did yet more to provoke Yahweh, the God of Israel, to anger than all the kings of Israel who were before him. 34In his days Hiel the Bethelite built Jericho: he laid its foundation with the loss of Abiram his firstborn, and set up its gates with the loss of his youngest son Segub, according to Yahweh’s word, which he spoke by Joshua the son of Nun.
1Toen geschiedde het woord des HEEREN tot Jehu, den zoon van Hanani, tegen Baesa, zeggende: 2Daarom, dat Ik u uit het stof verheven, en u tot een voorganger over Mijn volk Israel gesteld heb, en gij gewandeld hebt in den weg van Jerobeam, en Mijn volk Israel hebt doen zondigen, Mij tot toorn verwekkende door hun zonden; 3Zie, zo zal Ik de nakomelingen van Baesa, en de nakomelingen van zijn huis wegdoen; en Ik zal uw huis maken, gelijk het huis van Jerobeam, den zoon van Nebat. 4Die van Baesa in de stad sterft, zullen de honden eten, en die van hem in het veld sterft, zullen de vogelen des hemels eten. 5Het overige nu der geschiedenissen van Baesa, en wat hij gedaan heeft, en zijn macht, zijn die niet geschreven in het boek der kronieken der koningen van Israel? 6En Baesa ontsliep met zijn vaderen, en werd begraven te Thirza; en zijn zoon Ela regeerde in zijn plaats. 7Alzo geschiedde ook het woord des HEEREN, door den dienst van den profeet Jehu, den zoon van Hanani, tegen Baesa en tegen zijn huis; en dat om al het kwaad, dat hij gedaan had in de ogen des HEEREN, Hem tot toorn verwekkende door het werk zijner handen, omdat hij was gelijk het huis van Jerobeam, en omdat hij hetzelve verslagen had. 8In het zes en twintigste jaar van Asa, den koning van Juda, werd Ela, de zoon van Baesa, koning over Israel, te Thirza, en regeerde twee jaren. 9En Zimri, zijn knecht, overste van de helft der wagenen, maakte een verbintenis tegen hem, als hij te Thirza was, zich dronken drinkende in het huis van Arza, den hofmeester te Thirza; 10Zo kwam Zimri in, en sloeg hem, en doodde hem, in het zeven en twintigste jaar van Asa, den koning van Juda; en hij werd koning in zijn plaats. 11En het geschiedde, als hij regeerde, als hij op zijn troon zat, dat hij het ganse huis van Baesa sloeg; hij liet hem niet over die mannelijk was, noch zijn bloedverwanten, noch zijn vrienden. 12Alzo verdelgde Zimri het ganse huis van Baesa, naar het woord des HEEREN, dat Hij over Baesa gesproken had, door den dienst van den profeet Jehu; 13Om al de zonden van Baesa, en de zonden van Ela, zijn zoon, waarmede zij gezondigd hadden, en waarmede zij Israel hadden doen zondigen, tot toorn verwekkende den HEERE, den God Israels, door hun ijdelheden. 14Het overige nu der geschiedenissen van Ela, en al wat hij gedaan heeft, is dat niet geschreven in het boek der kronieken der koningen van Israel? 15In het zeven en twintigste jaar van Asa, den koning van Juda, regeerde Zimri zeven dagen te Thirza; en het volk had zich gelegerd tegen Gibbethon, dat der Filistijnen is. 16Het volk nu, dat zich gelegerd had, hoorde zeggen: Zimri heeft een verbintenis gemaakt, ja, heeft ook den koning verslagen; daarom maakte het ganse Israel ten zelfden dage Omri, den krijgsoverste, koning over Israel, in het leger. 17En Omri toog op, en gans Israel met hem van Gibbethon, en belegerde Thirza. 18En het geschiedde, als Zimri zag, dat de stad ingenomen was, dat hij ging in het paleis van het huis des konings, en verbrandde boven zich het huis des konings met vuur, en stierf; 19Om zijn zonden, die hij gezondigd had, doende wat kwaad was in de ogen des HEEREN, wandelende in den weg van Jerobeam, en in zijn zonde, die hij gedaan had, doende Israel zondigen. 20Het overige nu der geschiedenissen van Zimri, en zijn verbintenis, die hij gemaakt heeft, zijn die niet geschreven in het boek der kronieken der koningen van Israel? 21Toen werd het volk van Israel verdeeld in twee helften; de helft des volks volgde Tibni, den zoon van Ginath, om hem koning te maken; en de helft volgde Omri. 22Maar het volk, dat Omri volgde, was sterker dan het volk, dat Tibni, den zoon van Ginath, volgde; en Tibni stierf, en Omri regeerde. 23In het een en dertigste jaar van Asa, den koning van Juda, werd Omri koning over Israel, en regeerde twaalf jaren; te Thirza regeerde hij zes jaren. 24En hij kocht den berg Samaria van Semer, voor twee talenten zilvers, en bebouwde den berg; en noemde den naam der stad, die hij bouwde, naar den naam van Semer, den heer des bergs, Samaria. 25En Omri deed wat kwaad was in de ogen des HEEREN; ja, hij deed erger dan allen, die voor hem geweest waren. 26En hij wandelde in alle wegen van Jerobeam, den zoon van Nebat, en in zijn zonden, waarmede hij Israel had doen zondigen, verwekkende den HEERE, den God Israels, tot toorn, door hun ijdelheden. 27Het overige nu der geschiedenissen van Omri, wat hij gedaan heeft, en zijn macht die hij gepleegd heeft, zijn die niet geschreven in het boek der kronieken der koningen van Israel? 28En Omri ontsliep met zijn vaderen, en werd begraven te Samaria; en zijn zoon Achab regeerde in zijn plaats. 29En Achab, de zoon van Omri, werd koning over Israel, in het acht en dertigste jaar van Asa, den koning van Juda; en Achab, de zoon van Omri, regeerde over Israel, te Samaria, twee en twintig jaren. 30En Achab, den zoon van Omri, deed wat kwaad was in de ogen des HEEREN, meer dan allen, die voor hem geweest waren. 31En het geschiedde (was het een lichte zaak, dat hij wandelde in de zonden van Jerobeam, den zoon van Nebat?), dat hij nog ter vrouwe nam Izebel, de dochter van Eth-Baal, den koning der Sidoniers, en heenging, en diende Baal, en boog zich voor hem. 32En hij richtte voor Baal een altaar op, in het huis van Baal, hetwelk hij te Samaria gebouwd had. 33Ook maakte Achab een bos, zodat Achab nog meer deed, om den HEERE, den God Israels, tot toorn te verwekken, dan alle koningen van Israel, die voor hem geweest waren. 34In zijn dagen bouwde Hiel, de Betheliet, Jericho; op Abiram, zijn eerstgeborenen zoon heeft hij haar gegrondvest, en op Segub, zijn jongsten zoon, heeft hij haar poorten gesteld; naar het woord des HEEREN, dat Hij door den dienst van Jozua, den zoon van Nun, gesproken had.
