1FUÉ pues el rey Salomón rey sobre todo Israel. 2Y estos fueron los príncipes que tuvo: Azarías hijo de Sadoc, sacerdote; 3Elioreph y Ahía, hijos de Sisa, escribas; Josaphat hijo de Ahilud, canciller; 4Benaía hijo de Joiada era sobre el ejército; y Sadoc y Abiathar eran los sacerdotes; 5Azaría hijo de Nathán era sobre los gobernadores; Zabud hijo de Nathán era principal oficial, amigo del rey; 6Y Ahisar era mayordomo; y Adoniram hijo de Abda era sobre el tributo. 7Y tenía Salomón doce gobernadores sobre todo Israel, los cuales mantenían al rey y á su casa. Cada uno de ellos estaba obligado á abastecer por un mes en el año. 8Y estos son los nombres de ellos: el hijo de Hur en el monte de Ephraim; 9El hijo de Decar, en Maccas, y en Saalbim, y en Beth-semes, y en Elón, y en Beth-hanan; 10El hijo de Hesed, en Aruboth; éste tenía también á Sochô y toda la tierra de Ephet. 11El hijo de Abinadab, en todos los términos de Dor: éste tenía por mujer á Thaphat hija de Salomón; 12Baana hijo de Ahilud, en Taanach y Megiddo, y en toda Beth-san, que es cerca de Zaretán, por bajo de Jezreel, desde Beth-san hasta Abel-mehola, y hasta la otra parte de Jocmeam; 13El hijo de Geber, en Ramoth de Galaad; éste tenía también las ciudades de Jair hijo de Manasés, las cuales estaban en Galaad; tenía también la provincia de Argob, que era en Basán, sesenta grandes ciudades con muro y cerraduras de bronce; 14Ahinadab hijo de Iddo, en Mahanaim; 15Ahimaas en Nephtalí; éste tomó también por mujer á Basemath hija de Salomón. 16Baana hijo de Husai, en Aser y en Aloth; 17Josaphat hijo de Pharua, en Issachâr; 18Semei hijo de Ela, en Benjamín; 19Geber hijo de Uri, en la tierra de Galaad, la tierra de Sehón rey de los Amorrheos, y de Og rey de Basán; éste era el único gobernador en aquella tierra. 20Judá é Israel eran muchos, como la arena que está junto á la mar en multitud, comiendo y bebiendo y alegrándose. 21Y Salomón señoreaba sobre todos los reinos, desde el río de la tierra de los Filisteos hasta el término de Egipto: y traían presentes, y sirvieron á Salomón todos los días que vivió. 22Y la despensa de Salomón era cada día treinta coros de flor de harina, y sesenta coros de harina. 23Diez bueyes engordados, y veinte bueyes de pasto, y cien ovejas; sin los ciervos, cabras, búfalos, y aves engordadas. 24Porque él señoreaba en toda la región que estaba de la otra parte del río, desde Tiphsa hasta Gaza, sobre todos los reyes de la otra parte del río; y tuvo paz por todos lados en derredor suyo. 25Y Judá é Israel vivían seguros, cada uno debajo de su parra y debajo de su higuera, desde Dan hasta Beer-seba, todos los días de Salomón. 26Tenía además de esto Salomón cuarenta mil caballos en sus caballerizas para sus carros, y doce mil jinetes. 27Y estos gobernadores mantenían al rey Salomón, y á todos los que á la mesa del rey Salomón venían, cada uno un mes; y hacían que nada faltase. 28Hacían también traer cebada y paja para los caballos y para las bestias de carga, al lugar donde él estaba, cada uno conforme al cargo que tenía. 29Y dió Dios á Salomón sabiduría, y prudencia muy grande, y anchura de corazón como la arena que está á la orilla del mar. 30Que fué mayor la sabiduría de Salomón que la de todos los orientales, y que toda la sabiduría de los Egipcios. 31Y aun fué más sabio que todos los hombres; más que Ethán Ezrahita, y que Emán y Calchôl y Darda, hijos de Mahol: y fué nombrado entre todas las naciones de alrededor. 32Y propuso tres mil parábolas; y sus versos fueron mil y cinco. 33También disertó de los árboles, desde el cedro del Líbano hasta el hisopo que nace en la pared. Asimismo disertó de los animales, de las aves, de los reptiles, y de los peces. 34Y venían de todos los pueblos á oir la sabiduría de Salomón, y de todos los reyes de la tierra, donde había llegado la fama de su sabiduría.
1King Solomon was king over all Israel. 2These were the princes whom he had: Azariah the son of Zadok, the priest; 3Elihoreph and Ahijah, the sons of Shisha, scribes; Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud, the recorder; 4and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the army; and Zadok and Abiathar were priests; 5and Azariah the son of Nathan was over the officers; and Zabud the son of Nathan was chief minister, the king’s friend; 6and Ahishar was over the household; and Adoniram the son of Abda was over the men subject to forced labor. 7Solomon had twelve officers over all Israel, who provided food for the king and his household: each man had to make provision for a month in the year. 8These are their names: Ben Hur, in the hill country of Ephraim; 9Ben Deker, in Makaz, and in Shaalbim, and Beth Shemesh, and Elon Beth Hanan; 10Ben Hesed, in Arubboth (to him belonged Socoh, and all the land of Hepher); 11Ben Abinadab, in all the height of Dor (he had Taphath the daughter of Solomon as wife); 12Baana the son of Ahilud, in Taanach and Megiddo, and all Beth Shean which is beside Zarethan, beneath Jezreel, from Beth Shean to Abel Meholah, as far as beyond Jokmeam; 13Ben Geber, in Ramoth Gilead (to him belonged the towns of Jair the son of Manasseh, which are in Gilead; to him belonged the region of Argob, which is in Bashan, sixty great cities with walls and bronze bars); 14Ahinadab the son of Iddo, in Mahanaim; 15Ahimaaz, in Naphtali (he also took Basemath the daughter of Solomon as wife); 16Baana the son of Hushai, in Asher and Bealoth; 17Jehoshaphat the son of Paruah, in Issachar; 18Shimei the son of Ela, in Benjamin; 19Geber the son of Uri, in the land of Gilead, the country of Sihon king of the Amorites and of Og king of Bashan; and he was the only officer who was in the land. 20Judah and Israel were many as the sand which is by the sea in multitude, eating and drinking and making merry. 21Solomon ruled over all the kingdoms from the River to the land of the Philistines, and to the border of Egypt: they brought tribute, and served Solomon all the days of his life. 22Solomon’s provision for one day was thirty measures of fine flour, and sixty measures of meal, 23ten head of fat cattle, and twenty head of cattle out of the pastures, and one hundred sheep, besides deer, and gazelles, and roebucks, and fattened fowl. 24For he had dominion over all on this side the River, from Tiphsah even to Gaza, over all the kings on this side the River: and he had peace on all sides around him. 25Judah and Israel lived safely, every man under his vine and under his fig tree, from Dan even to Beersheba, all the days of Solomon. 26Solomon had forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen. 27Those officers provided food for king Solomon, and for all who came to king Solomon’s table, every man in his month; they let nothing be lacking. 28Barley also and straw for the horses and swift steeds brought they to the place where the officers were, every man according to his duty. 29God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding exceeding much, and very great understanding, even as the sand that is on the seashore. 30Solomon’s wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the children of the east, and all the wisdom of Egypt. 31For he was wiser than all men; than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, and Calcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol: and his fame was in all the nations all around. 32He spoke three thousand proverbs; and his songs were one thousand five. 33He spoke of trees, from the cedar that is in Lebanon even to the hyssop that springs out of the wall; he spoke also of animals, and of birds, and of creeping things, and of fish. 34There came of all peoples to hear the wisdom of Solomon, from all kings of the earth, who had heard of his wisdom.
1Alzo was de koning Salomo koning over gans Israel. 2En deze waren de vorsten, die hij had: Azaria, de zoon van Zadok, was opperambtman. 3Elihoref, en Ahia, de zoon van Sisa, waren schrijvers; Josafat, de zoon van Ahilud, was kanselier. 4En Benaja, de zoon van Jojada, was over het heir; en Zadok en Abjathar waren priesters. 5En Azaria, de zoon van Nathan, was over de bestelmeesters; en Zabud, de zoon van Nathan, was overambtman, des konings vriend. 6En Ahisar was hofmeester; en Adoniram, de zoon van Abda, was over de schatting. 7En Salomo had twaalf bestelmeesters over gans Israel, die den koning en zijn huis verzorgden; voor elk was een maand in het jaar om te verzorgen. 8En dit zijn hun namen: de zoon van Hur was in het gebergte van Efraim. 9De zoon van Deker in Makaz, en in Saalbim, en Beth-Semes, en Elon-Beth-hanan. 10De zoon van Hesed in Arubboth; hij had daartoe Socho en het ganse land Hefer. 11De zoon van Abinadab had de ganse landstreek van Dor; deze had Tafath, de dochter van Salomo, tot een vrouw. 12Baana, de zoon van Ahilud, had Taanach, en Megiddo, en het ganse Beth-Sean, hetwelk is bij Zartana, beneden van Jizreel, van Beth-Sean aan tot Abel-Mehola, tot op gene zijde van Jokmeam. 13De zoon van Geber was te Ramoth in Gilead; hij had de dorpen van Jair, den zoon van Manasse, die in Gilead zijn; ook had hij de streek van Argob, welke is in Basan, zestig grote steden, met muren en koperen grendelen. 14Abinadab, de zoon van Iddo, was te Mahanaim. 15Ahimaaz was in Nafthali; deze nam ook Salomo's dochter, Basmath, ter vrouwe. 16Baana, de zoon van Husai, was in Aser en in Aloth. 17Josafath, de zoon van Paruah, in Issaschar. 18Simei, de zoon van Ela, in Benjamin. 19Geber, de zoon van Uri, was in het land Gilead, het land van Sihon, den koning der Amorieten, en van Og, den koning van Basan, en hij was de enige bestelmeester, die in dat land was. 20Juda nu en Israel waren velen, als zand, dat aan de zee is in menigte, etende, en drinkende, en blijde zijnde. 21En Salomo was heersende over al de koninkrijken, van de rivier tot het land der Filistijnen, en tot aan de landpale van Egypte; die brachten geschenken, en dienden Salomo al de dagen zijns levens. 22De spijze nu van Salomo was voor een dag, dertig kor meelbloem, en zestig kor meel; 23Tien vette runderen, en twintig weiderunderen, en honderd schapen; uitgenomen de herten, en reeen, en buffelen, en gemeste vogelen. 24Want hij had heerschappij over al wat op deze zijde der rivier was van Thifsah tot aan Gaza, over alle koningen op deze zijde der rivier; en hij had vrede van al zijn zijden rondom. 25En Juda en Israel woonden zeker, een iegelijk onder zijn wijnstok en onder zijn vijgeboom, van Dan tot Ber-seba, al de dagen van Salomo. 26Salomo had ook veertig duizend paardenstallen tot zijn wagenen, en twaalf duizend ruiteren. 27Die bestelmeesters nu, een ieder op zijn maand, verzorgden den koning Salomo, en al degenen, die tot de tafel van den koning Salomo naderden; zij lieten geen ding ontbreken. 28De gerst nu en het stro voor de paarden, en voor de snelle kemelen, brachten zij aan de plaats, waar hij was, een iegelijk naar zijn last. 29En God gaf Salomo wijsheid en zeer veel verstand, en een wijd begrip des harten, gelijk zand, dat aan den oever der zee is. 30En de wijsheid van Salomo was groter dan de wijsheid van al die van het oosten, en dan alle wijsheid der Egyptenaren; 31Ja, hij was wijzer dan alle mensen; dan Ethan, de Ezrahiet, en Heman, en Chalcol, en Darda, de zonen van Mahol; en zijn naam was onder alle heidenen rondom. 32En hij sprak drie duizend spreuken; daartoe waren zijn liederen duizend en vijf. 33Hij sprak ook van de bomen, van den cederboom af, die op den Libanon is, tot op den hysop, die aan den wand uitwast; hij sprak ook van het vee, en van het gevogelte, en van de kruipende dieren, en van de vissen. 34En van alle volken kwamen er, om de wijsheid van Salomo te horen, van alle koningen der aarde, die van zijn wijsheid gehoord hadden.
